[Help] How to prevent the phone from auto booting?

Hi all,
I dunno if any of my steps goes wrong, but my phone keeps auto booting even i dont push the RED button, even i remove the battery and put it back again, it keeps auto booting so i cant choose fastboot mode or recovery mode.
All i did is:
- fastboot boot recovery-RAv1.2.1H.img
- choose Apply sdcard:choose zip and select update.Engineering-SPL-HBOOT-1.33.2004-signed.zip
Is it bricked? Could anyone help?
Thanks in advance.
1st off wrong section man you gotta take this to general...
2nd try press and hold home and power see if you go into recovery...if you do then your not bricked.
sorry i'll move this to general
so did you get it to work?
no i cant boot to recovery or fastboot, it just keep showing the htc splash screen, i'll take it to the htc care guys to see if they could help me. thanks btw
is your phone plugged into your PC when this happens? Dumb I know but when my phone is plugged into my pc it autoboots
Yes i realized it afterwards, i just unplug the usb cable and it stops auto-booting, but i cant reach the recovery and fastboot afterwards. Anyway, i've already take it to the customer service and seems that they have way to flush back all the software part and i could have my magic 3 days later
Actually i just wonder which step is wrong for me, should i root the spl before flashing a new one? or i should just skip it? i wanted to know this more

[Q] [XOOM 2/MZ608-16] Won't boot/charge / bricked

Hello everyone.
I searched the whole forum and found similar threads with kinda the same problem - but no solution worked for me (or aswell none was stated).
My problem is that my Xoom 2 ME (MZ608-16) (Android 4.0.4) won't turn back on, doesn't light up the LED when charging and seems to be fully bricked.
I also tried to do those button-combo tricks but it had no use. I held those combos several times for a longer period.
But what I can tell is that the screen does a small short flash as if it would boot after holding the buttons POWER/LOCK + SOUND UP for a short time.
Holding those buttons even longer after the first not-easy-to-notice flash it rapidly happens again and again.
What caused this trouble was that I tried to flash the firmware after rooting.
First I stocked at a screen showed that some flash didn't worked out well (looks like fastboot mode).. that happend after trying to flash the recovery to do a proper backup before to do the-stuff-i-wished-to-do. It showes up every boot. Normal boot could be inizialized even though after entering the "control menu" via pressing VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER/LOCK on the same time and releae it.
After that I wished to fix it via flashing the whole firmware in hope the message would go away.. troublesome was that I used the wrong firmware for another Model than the MZ608.
And now I'm stocked.
You all helped me already a few times without me registering.
Now I hope you can help me ones again.
Thank you very much in advance.
Greetings

Edit 2013-05-08: Still no changes.
I request further help
You can put phone back into fastboot using factory cable method - see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077414
If the phone is bricked then you need to use omapflash to flash fastboot and then the image - see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242330

Nexus 4 Bootloop, nothing works

Hi,
My Nexus 4 is stuck in the Bootloop (where the Colored Dots fly around that should form the Logo) and I don´t know hat to do anymore. I´ve read dozens of threads but not a single Solution could be found...
I tried several Factory Resets and Cash Wipes with the Recovery Mode and Flashing Stock Android on it. I also just let it try to boot up over night, but after 8hours it was still stuck in the same Bootloop.
I´ve never Rooted my Nexus or something like that it was Stock Android all the time (haven´t used it since like half a year, when the Bootloop appeared first, but now i broke the Screen of my Galaxy Alpha which is too expensive for me to let it fix...).
One Thing thats different from many other People that get stuck in Bootloop is the fact, that after Holding the power button to power it down, i can enter the bootloader (where i can find recovery mode) if i only push the volume down button, not the power button. I also have to go into bootloader and select "power down", if i don´t want it to try and boot up again without me doing anything.
I apologize for my bad English (if it is, i´m not sure) and i´m thankful for every hint on what i could do, since Walking aroung without a Smartphone feels weird as f*ck

Is your bootloader unlocked? When you said you flashed stock do you mean you flashed a zip in recovery, or flashed it via fastboot?
I unlocked my bootloader and used the wugfresh toolkit to flash stock 5.1.1. in my nexus.
After hours of online search i finally found out how to "solve" my Problem. Apparently my power button was stuck (wrote sth. like that in my 1st post but wasn't sure yet), so i just slammed it on the desk with the side where the powerbutton is located and it worked!!
I think thats something you should tell everyone who is stuck in a bootloop an not even reflashing stock Android helps
Now i got the Problem that i can't fit my nano sim in the micro sim slot of the nrxus , wouls be nice if someone got an advice in this, but maybe i should just go and get an Adapter tomorrow
Greetings, Slix
If you do not have any data on it, you can reflash the whole device by downloading the nexus 4 factory image here https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/occam-lmy47v-factory-b0c4eb3d.tgz
You will need adb and fastboot which you can get here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979 (if the latest version does not work use version 1.3)
Then simply unzip the factory image with 7zip and run
Code:
flash-all.bat

brick problem, noob here, plz help

my problem is kind of abnormal. i couldnt find solution anywhere so i came here. my device was zenfone 5(t00f)/lollipop.
so i wanted to root my phone. i followed this guide >>
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/general/zenfonetoolkit3-24-40-87-t3406557
the tool i used is called ZenfoneToolkit_20160719, downloaded from here
HTML:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B0AFmAAcGS5xbWpTQzBQVTN3b1k
. its a bundle of .exe, .dll, .img, .bin files. but no need to work on them seperately, there is a simple cli tool from which you can choose what you want to do and it executes that file for you. below is the list what you can do.
1. Wipe Cache
2. Factory Reset
3. Flash Boot
4. Flash Recovery
5. Flash Fastboot
6. Flash Stock ROM
7. Root
8. Unroot
9. Unlock Bootloader
10. Relock Bootloader
11. Zenfone Rescue aka Debrick
12. Fixing Generic IMEI 004999010640000
13. Backup MicroSD
14. Flash Boretz Kernel Lollipop
so wiped cache[1] first then i tried to root[7]. sadly it didnt work, when i turned the phone on it took me to fastboot screen, there i had only a few options like, normal boot(doesnt happen), recovery mode, restart. when i turned it off and pressed power and volume up together it would go to recovery where none of the options works. i though that was what called brick, so followed this guide to make my life better
HTML:
http://zenfone-blog.blogspot.com/2015/06/guide-how-to-unbrick-asus-zenfone-4-5-6.html
.
my phone by default came with kitkat. so when i downloaded the firmware i wanted to get a kitkat. but i couldnt find a matching recovery img and firmware for kitkat on asus official page. so i downloaded jellybean. ASUS ZenFone 5(T00F/T00J) software Image: V1.18.40.9 ww for firmware from here
HTML:
https://www.asus.com/support/Download/39/1/0/2/96nqlxHp1VKV4Rdz/32/
. and recovery img is 1.18.40.9_ww_recovery.img from here
HTML:
https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/s/644D9E0A19714899974C75FC4B6C87EDY
. i dont know what "ww" means in those name but i saw it in my software version before so i went with it.
All the steps went smoothly, by the end of it i guessed my phone charge would be low so i put it in charge and turned it on. first time it turn on without a problem. i checked out a few things and leave it for charge. after a while i came back and battery was 0%. i thought i would be wise to plug out and in charging port again. as soon as i pull out the pin, screen instantly turned black and the phone went dead after a looooong ass vibration.
now when i try to charge the orenge light at top lights up but the animation that shows battery always show its empty. if i try to turn it on while plugged, it shows asus logo/intel logo and goes dead again. if i try to turn it on without being plugged, it shows a battery logo with a question mark, which i think means the phone cannot find battery.
i am stuck here.... plz someone be my savior.
Hello my dear, to get out of this problem I did the following: I connected the phone to compuador by USB cable (with himself off), then he calls and gets the question symbol, it held the power button plus volume up he must restart to get the logo asus about 4 seconds after loose the power button and continue with the volume button up insured. It should enter into fastboot mode there do the necessary procedures to reflash the system.
I hope you helped, hug!

HELP! Stuck in Boot Logo w/ no Recovery Mode

Ok so before I started writing this I had only one problem now I'm worried my problem has gone from bad to worse.
I updated my 6T to 10.3.2 from the latest Beta after the process it prompted for a restart, upon restarting it got stuck in the boot animation. I tried going into Recovery and Download mode unsuccessfully so I went through the forums a bit and saw that someone who had the same problem successfully entered Recovery mode by pressing VOLUME UP+DOWN+POWER buttons simultaneously, I tried to do the same and my phone turned off and now it doesn't turn on! :crying:
Has anyone experienced this or know how to fix this? Any help will be much appreciated. Tia!

These should be clarified:
Volume Up + Power while turning on will boot to fastboot.
Volume Down + Power while turn on will boot to recovery.
Holding Volume Up + Power should force the phone to turn off.
Volume Up + Volume Down should put your phone in Download mode for the MSM Tool.
Turn the phone off, let it sit. Then try turn it back on. Any response?
try to shutdown phone ...hold vol+ and power button for like 15 sec and restart your phone if this didnt work then u can try MSM tool
Thanks guys, got it working using MSM Tool!

You are likely going to lose your data. Know that going in if its not already backed up.
If you have the fastboot menu you can use the fastboot roms.
Or my least favorite option or what I would try last, MSM Tool (Tmobile 6Ts use a different tool).
IMPORTANT if you want to try and recover and data off your phone first, go to fastboot, and try and "boot" the TWRP img (not the installed one, one from your PC using the fastboot command). If that works you might be able to recover data. If that does worm, try dirty flashing the last ROM you were running and see if it boots.
No worries!

Hello, I am sorry to hear of you having this issue, I just went through 3 1/2 days (off and on) of recovering my T-Mobile OnePlus 6t which I found a way to get my unlock code within 2 weeks of having it, so I rooted it and put a custom kernel on it, stuck on 9.0 never let me update as I was not familiar with A/B partitioning, yet! The answers I saw to your questions were spot on, I just had a little to add to it and I'm sure I am not alone. Real quick let me list what has gone wrong on the rare occasion it hit the fan with the 6t...
- When I would accidentally and rarely let my battery die it seemed like it took forever to get it to reboot, I mean it sat on my desk of DOA devices for 2 weeks!
- It often seems like the buttons do not always respond properly and never have when I needed them to. Been through this before, I've bricked and unbricked and flashed and re-flashed and wiped all weekend and I like Android 10 and all but seems everything is different for every build, and everything seems to have to go in the right order with the exact right file or you wind up in a jam, period..
- That said, the previous person that answered your question has likely encountered similar, I've heard of right down to the buttons not physically working, but I have been a Smart Device Master III Technician for over 5 years, i know my buttons were not broken.
- Most likely culprit that I just handled and worked, i did have to use the MSM tool, several times - and re-unlock the BL, several times I would not even get the chance to get to fastboot, just a screen saying Build and Hardware not a match"" in yellow letters and it just bootlooped. No fastboot is no good, but when you said the tool would show some signs of working but then not, I have 2 solutions that I needed on diffrent occcasions.
1 - As mentioned fully try other USB cables, and ports, if you pull the usb-c out of the port and hold <power + vol up + vol down> eventually it will do something, very picky, sometimes gotta move your fingers to different spots on the buttons and also after 15-20sec let go of power and hit and hold it again... after a few seconds before it vibrates stick the cable in connected to your PC and the screen will be black (obv) but the msm tool will pick up on it. I know about the cables because I take good care of my phones and cables and charging ports, however on my final fix today it showed in msm tool it was connected but waiting for device.... Fed up i put the phone down and moved the usb cable a little bit and it picked up on it and did its thing! That part was just the cable, getting into qualcomm mode or w.e. is a bit tricky sometimes.
- Also someone said set it down for a while and come back to it.. THAT WORKS!! Let it fully charge and often just plugging in charger turns it on, bootloop soft brick or however have you, very simiilar to an Apple device and their DFU (don't f up mode cause screen is black..)
I hope that helps you get in touch with your family and friends.. Whatever you do, don't give up bc if you have not got it yet, you will! One other note, there are a few different msm tools available and they look the same some same size, but the one that supposed to work on my phone didn't and one that they say only a fool would attempt to try actually saved me, so if all else fails, use a different msm tool/usb cable and you will get it! I don't think I can post links yet I am on here very rarely, but plan on more! I have received so much help from XDA throughout the years on thousands of phones with just software issues alone, aas well as guides to my own phones. I would be honored to give back as I also have some extensive knowledge on many devices but I am a noob in comparison to many! Stay safe, good luck and please update and let us/ me know how it worked out for you. If i can help further I will, I have every firmware file for the OP6t, recovery, tools, software, this is not new to me but I feel your frustration!
