has anybody tried to port cyanogenmod to the tegra note 7? Is it possible? Also would anybody like to give advice to somebody who has never ported a rom before on how to do so?
I have tried to port it. I got very difficult towards the very end so I gave up
We will have to wait for Nvidia to release Open Source items before this can be done. Hence why shaky etc are having issues with the custom recoveries.

Hey guys I need a kernel developer. I've got the device tree and vendor almost ready and compiling. But kernel is creating problems and my knowledge about kernel is almost none so if any tegratab users have any expertise in this field then do checkout the kernel and try to get it to boot and we just might have ourselves a working custom rom.

Some please help him with kernel... We all are waiting for cm or los on this device.. even cm12 will be good .. my device is in coma.. i am not using it at all.

No VoLTE, you need jio sim to make calls over 4g . native volte isn't implemented

Not native but still effective VoLTE can be used with a little help of jio apps. Now I am focused on learning detailed infrastructure of qualcomm s 801. If I can make any further solutions which may help people here, I'll post here.
And I guess @strongst will be the first one to comment because he/she is really tired of telling people to do something and blaming them for being lazy instead of quick replies. Hold on, mate. I may save you from being furious to all those people who are constantly asking about VoLTE. I know you don't like it very much. :crying:

Sometimes its not just the mobile having volte support.. But the ROM should allow u to access volte services. Check out Bliss ROM for ZUK Z1 it has volte support and yes its a custom ROM

The link you give is for unlocking additional LTE /GSM bands in case you need a specific. What does that have to do with VoLTE?

@acuicultor mentioned it already, that they move the server files to another hardware. Ask him when it's done.

This is my first threat on xda so don´t expect it to be perfect
So I saw about 1 month ago that Android GO came out for future and current devices (That does not count ports).
And as you know that Android GO was made for not so powerful devices, for example, The Nokia 1.
So I thought: maybe someone will port it to the J3 (2016) (It's still my current device)
Well yeah its good for its price (I paid 125$ for it)
But I had a cheaper phone that was better than my current phone.
But I think that Android GO would run maybe better on it than stock!
But the only problem was ... I'm not a dev. of any kind.
So I made this post to ask if it would be possible!

a few developers actually tried porting Oreo a while back, actually got to the point of building it, however apparently our device has some kind of restriction in place so only lollipop-Nougat will boot, until that restriction is broken there can be no oreo, though thanks for posting this, perhaps some intrest is all thats needed to start some developer cracking this restriction, but at the moment I think our best bet for getting an up to date OS is porting Sailfish

I would but I have bad news.. sadly, I'm leaving the SpreadTrum platform and migrating to Qualcomm. It was a good run but it won't continue. Good luck with the development of j3!

that'd be near impossible, for one sailfish just isn't android, but foe two the conpatabilty laywr won't work on ported devices, you'd need to port some kind of android chroot (I forget what its called) which is near impossible due to processor differences and even if you could port it it would drain the battery and give horrible system performance, this device may be able to run vanilla sailfish and not much else

I don't know for sure but I belive sailfish ports run android first ghen boot sailfish, so even with our locked processor it should work...
How about we/me/someone will modify a nougat rom that it almost looks like android go?

That blog is heavily misinformed by someone. Few of the reviewers have already confirmed that it supports treble.

According to Google, every phone shipping with Android Oreo should be treble supported. This phone is no exception.
Its use android stock rom / aosp so it didnt need treble support I think... Xiaomi Mi A1 with android stock rom is same... It didnt support treble
Btw we have confirmed that it has full treble support. We have a user from Indonesia who already got his device confirmed that. Has separate vendor partition and also the firmware which is available now on Asus website does confirm the treble compatibility(we have extracted and investigate the same). Attaching a SS from Zenfone max pro m1 from a user who shared that.
So yah its fully treble enabled. :good:
