Is the SM-J327VPP [Verizon] Rootable? - Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) Questions & Answers

I see guides for a J327P, is this the same model? Furthermore, I don't see much mention of Verizon variants. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Probably no root method for it yet then. You can try kingroot, but it my not work.

Root... Available?

Sorry to ask the dumb question. I see a lot of roms and kernels already made, but I'm reading in various threads that root is not yet available for the S7 Edge, so I"m a bit confused.
Are we able to root the s7 edge? I haven't gotten it yet but will soon.
Thanks!

Rooting ithe S7 Edge is easy if you read and follow the

Good luck,
Have a great day!
Thanks! Looks like it doesn't apply to the Qualcomm versions yet. Dang

Yes it's easy if you've got the right model but impossible if you don't

Bootloader is locked on Snapdragon variants. So don't expect root anytime soon unfortunately

Where and how do I start my rom installation process?

I have an LG V20, thats the sprint version. I'm on the March 1st 2018 security patch. Id like to install a custom rom to increase game performance, but i have no clue where to start. Can someone give me an idea what to look for? Any good roms?

You don't. Thank Sprint for making the LS997 the most locked down variant and unrootable past the very old version ZV7 with a negligible chance of ever becoming rootable again.
For all the other v20 variants, which are still rootable, there are several guides for different variants, just search xda for the thread for your variant.

It's probably legit but the key is in the first step, you have to unlock the bootloader. Currently there is no way to do that therefore it's a no go.
Sent from my LG-H910 using XDA Labs

No, their guide on unlocking the bootloader is wrong and won't work on any v20. It's a joke, they took the generic steps and assumed they worked.

Can any unlocked H872 be rooted?

My goal is an unlocked, rooted phone to use on T-Mobile. Specs and price on a used, unlocked G6 are about perfect for me.
So, can any factory unlocked H872 be rooted?
I'm asking because guides and threads tend to focus on locked phones. So, for instance, I don't know if ARB is a factor in getting root on an unlocked H872.
That might be important because used listings don't tend to list the software version.
I'd sincerely appreciate any insight you can give.

Sweet. Much appreciated.

LS99720a - Any way to root JUST for deleted file recovery? Don't need other stuff.

Title. I no longer use this phone but I would _love_ to be able to get deleted stuff off of it. I did this in the past with my old LG G3 and never had any issues like this phone has with getting to root. I tried it when I first got the phone, tried it a year later. never worked. Now trying 3 yrs lol. Is there anything I can do or am I SOL?
@Phoenix591 already answered this for you on Reddit. I don't know what else to tell you.
Original Reddit post for anyone else who is reading
Thats an Oreo version, and so is past the point of no return. It's unrootable. Tiny electronic fuses have been physically burned to prevent it from booting rootable firmware.
As I mentioned the last version that has the ability to return to a rootable version was ZV7 (the actually rootable versions were ZV5 or earlier, however LS997 did updates weird which ment that firmware wasn't available to flash using the same tools other models use... If on ZV6 or ZV7 its possible to root by crossflashing another model's firmware briefly ) , which was a few updates before oreo came out.

Unfortunately, the LS997 ended up being more limited than the other carrier-specific models. However, root access is getting harder to come by on new carrier-specific devices in general.

My ODIN wont work, and I don't know if my phone can be rooted.

Hello! I have lately been using a Samsung galaxy S5 on Verizon, and it has served me well. But, I recently had just gotten a new Samsung Galaxy S7 flat (Sm-G9300V). I have actually used the edge before, but wasn't a fan of it, so I used the S5. I had heard that this phone is now able to be rooted on the Verizon version of the phones. So, I have followed many guides, and have searched my build number for root, and a bunch of other things. I will post some screenshots of my phones information if you can help. Another issue I've been having is when I try to flash the ENGBOOT from multiple different XDA forums, my ODIN keeps failing, even though I've turned on USB debugging and OEM unlock in the developer settings. If anyone could tell me if i'm doing something wrong, and maybe point me in the right direction if you can, this would be much appreciated. If you are willing to help, I would be more than happy to give more information. (Also, flashing a stock firmware wont even work, and It is the Verizon firmware) The pictures are an attachment, sorry I don't know how to put pictures on a thread.:good:
Save your time. There currently is no root for your software version. Your software is bootloader "B" (G930VVRSBCTC1) of which there is no ENG root file as of yet.
Oh. Thank you, though!
Bumping this. Anyone know anything if something new came out of this bootloader?

Root and custom roms are only available for exynos versions. For the snapdragon version nothing has been made available.
