[SOLVED] Huawei nova bricked - Huawei Nova/Nova Plus Questions & Answers

I folowed this tutorial https://forum.xda-developers.com/nova-plus/development/rom-aospextended-v4-6-t3717372 and all flashing was fine. Due to some inconveniences of this new flashed rom i decided to restore to default rom. I extracted recovery and update.app version Can-L11 B396 i think from firmware finder and flased with adb this recovery. After that, it asked me to do an factory reset, i did it, but it wont boot any of huawei or Aosp Extended. The main problem i have is i can`t acces any more my phone with adb terminal, maybe after flashing the new original recovery usb debbuging reverted to un-enabled. How can I do now? Thanks in advance.

Check this post.

I cant access my phone via adb or twrp recovery. I wonder why. Before flashing a stock recovery all Was fine, adb Was connecting with no problem.

Try to flash the TWRP again with fastboot.
PS: I don't understand how you people end up like this. It never happened to me.

I cant, adb cant be connected to device. Says null operation.

finally i succeed to revert o stock rom. Now i have on About phone CAN-L11C432B397, Emui 5.0 and Android 7.0. One question please, I dont see anymore the Update system tab or something, "Actualizator" on romanian language. Is that normal? How i can check for updates?

You need to install the other zip too which has the word "data_full" at zip's name or something like that.
EDIT: @campeadore, i suggest you to edit the thread name and add "[SOLVED]" at begin and write the way you've fixed your phone (the solution), so it'll help other people who might run into the same problem as you.

I`ll do it as soon i fully resolve the problem. I followed your link and everything went fine at step 1 (Go back to EMUI 4.1 (MM). System is booting, but system update is not working. So, i want to flash EMUI 5, but can-l11c432b330 or can-l11c432b396 cant be updated, around 45% gives an error. The only version who work is can-l11c432b320 but i dont have update_full_CAN-L11_hw_eu, only the first update.zip.

Newer / newest firmware downloaded from Firmware Finder needs to be approved by Huawei and that can take some time. It's failing to install because it wasn't approved. I've read this in past somewhere.
Try B381 or B382 as i've always installed that one when i've went back to EMUI 5.

Yes, i did it now with can-l11c432b330. I think my mistake was trying to flash to EMUI5 with usb cable connected. With cable off all went fine like a charm. Now i do all approved updates with system update. Thank you so much man, really appreciated.

Seeking help: I have a smartphone huawei nova lite plus (TRT LX1) that fails to restart. It goes continuously in a loop. Entering recovery only the first 2 functions come out: wipe wash factory reset and wipe wash partition. Then using eRecovery from PC with the USB cable, proceed up to a certain point and then not continue. I think it's in soft brick. I definitely need the right software for flashing, stock roms and usb drivers. Where can I find them? Many thanks

I upgraded to Nougat Manually and it half worked :S

So I followed a tutorial online to install Android Nougat 7.0 on my Huawei P9 lite. Once I was in TWRP I realised I was supposed to install two update files from two different .zip files. Trouble is I only had the one update on my phone at the time. I didn't want to exit TWRP at that stage because I already installed one of the update files.
When I booted my phone after the update, it all seemed to be working with 7.0 installed. Then I noticed my internet data wasn't working outside of wifi, and my bluetooth isn't turning on. The rest seems to be running fine other than those two things.
I rely a lot on bluetooth and internet on the go. I need it back, does anyone know what I could do, outside of factory reset?
Thanks
factory reset wouldn't help, you need to reflash update.zip and data_full.zip AT SAME TIME without rebooting

Okay, I realised that just now. Trouble is I am having trouble booting into TWRP now. I just get "your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted." with an orange web link.
For some reason my phone says in the settings that I'm still on android 4.3 although the ui and functionality is 7.0. Also, the EMUI is 2.0. I don't know how I got TWRP working before but I think there's a conflict due to it half being 7.0 so recover won't boot. I have tried loads of tutorials online but none of the rocovery.img or twrp.img files are working.
have the exact same problem, on android 4.3 and stuck.
from what i understand to dload a working stock rom, you need to have the correct oem info that matches the recovery stock rom. i cant flash any OEMinfo as i cant get root from revolution recovery.
no access to Data partition either.
no other recovery's to install as its the only one for nougat.
So i need help for this issue too.

I fixed it! It was more simple than I realised. I used the dload folder method; Placing the update.app into a folder called 'dload' on an sdcard. Then holding power, both volume buttons to initiate the update.
Thanks for your help guys!!

Recovery unaviable after Nougat update

Hey people,
I've updated to the unofficial Nougat leak here and ever since I can't get into the recovery. The ROM is OK but no matter what I do I can't get into the recovery. After "adb reboot recovery" I just get stuck in a boot loop and I must get into the upgrade utility and restart phone into the system from there. I've tried to flash few other recovery but nothing works. So far I'm fine with the system and I'd like to also try LineageOS but I have no way to flash the ROM. I have tried "Fastboot flash zip xx.zip" from the bootloader to flash LineageOS but it told me I don't have permissions so it was no good.
So do you folks here have any idea what I did wrong and how to make the recovery work again? I'm kind of learn from the tutorial guy so I'll post the sources I've been using to do the flash.
Unlocking bootloader and flashing new recovery
I've only used the unlock bootloader and flash twrp sections with their provided recovery. I've also tried to flash THIS recovery by Meticulus after the nougat update.
Flashing the ROM + used ROM
Used the old process because upgrade with system utility kept giving me errors.
Model number - VNS-L21
Also if this issue can't be (yet) fixed do you know any way to safely flash ROMs without recovery?
Thanks for any kind of help
You cannot flash any ROM in the nougat recovery, because it does not support /data mounting. Downgrade to MM and install the ROM you want from there.
@SALVO9
Ok, thank you for the reply. I'll probably try to downgrade and flash it afterwards to know which ROM suits me better. All I need to do is find the stock ROM copy it to the phone and restart with all buttons pushed right? Also, do you have any info about when there will be a nougat recovery that can mount /data?

No.
Flash proper OEMinfo first!
@Schlengge
Thanks for the advice. I did my research because I didn't know a thing about oeminfo and I have hit a wall since my phone is not rooted(Should have mentioned that earlier I know) and I'm supposed to replace custom.bin and then flash the img. So afterwards I searched how to root this nougat ROM and found nothing no app was working and everything I found was just using the phone's recovery which I can't access. Does anything come to mind? I will continue getting through the pages of google but I don't think I'll find anything useful.
EDIT> After some searching I found the official rollback package. I have yet to test it (downloading on slow connection atm) and I hope it will work.
Ok it's finally done and I'm back at old stock ROM(EMUI 4.1.1 VNS-L21C432B160) after hours of searching I gave up on the oeminfo or rooting the phone. I searched for the stock firmware and found some rollback packages on the Huawei site. I will post the links in there you even have instructions packed with the zip.
LINK1
LINK2
Download both start with the smaller one because it's flashing first and follow the instructions in the pdf. Worked for me so hope it also helps you.
Also as I found out just now this rollback also locks back your bootloader so be sure to unlock it back again with the code.

[resolved]Unable to flash anything other than twrp

EDITED: Partially resolved... I recovered but now i am stuck on an emui 3.1 with no gsm working. I have a single sim Huawei p8 lite(ALE-L21) the IMEI is unknown baseband version is empty and model name which is supposed to be ALE-L21 is hi6210sft. Build number is also strange: BalongV100R001C50B311. I would like to know if there is any other way to return to a fully functional emui 4.0 and android 6.0 with GSM working(1 sim). Things i've tried: Checking for updates within EMUI updater.
I have a small little problem... I am quite a huawei newb as Samsung rooting was relatively easy.... One day I looked up on google how to root my personal phone Huawei P8 Lite (ALE-L21) with a Vodafone boot up animation but something went wrong.
I downloaded a "rooting kit" with a .bat file specifically for an ALE-L21 but after going through the whole process (boot loader definitely unlocked) and now nothing works except fastboot mode and recovery mode (twrp) when I try to boot up the phone it gives me an error about an unsuccesful boot and system flash while taking me to the rescue mode(very similar to the fastboot mode) I tried to restore the firmware (I do not know if it has to be same version as build number)... via stock recovery and and update.app but the circle kept being stuck at 90%. I also tried to split the update.app file into a boot.img,recovery.img and system.img but sometimes only system.img or boot.img is outputted with the split_updata.pl. When i try to flash something else other than twrp via fastboot it gives me an error saying "FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)"
I would like to know of a 100% efficient way of restoring or reflashing the full stock emui 4.0 android 6.0 firmware including root although a stock rom is preferred.
Thanks

Your baseband version is empty because the phone still got a MM modem on it, if the TWRP is the only thing you can flash right now try to find a custom EMUI 4.0 ROM for your device (P8 lite) if I'm correct? and try to flash it, after that go back to TWRP and do a factory reset. After that try to fastboot flash boot.img recovery.img abd system.img, if you want bloatware flash cust.img as well. Hope this helps a bit!

Arent the boot.img, recovery.img and system.img the actual rom? if not what format should roms be in? Please note that not all custom roms for customizing the emui 4.0 are supported from emui 3.1. Some links would be really appreciated... so much spam on the internet! I am also worried about trying roms that are made for emui 4.0 and say that the emui 4.0 already installed is a prequisite. Should I?

Aren't you on marshmallow before you downgraded to lollipop? If you were, modem of MM is not compatible with lollipop hence IMEI and baseband are empty now for you. Search for EMUI custom ROM's to flash thru TWRP (not CyanogenMod). Also, you're in a wrong forum because this is P8 strictly, here are threads for your phone: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite :good:

Thanks I tried what you said in your previous reply but another problem came. I installed an android 7.1.1 custom rom but now GSM doesn't work. SIM card would already be in the tray in the phone but it is not detected. Why would I need a phone which isn't a phone? Now i'll post another issue on the proper thread. The android worked fine. I don't know if anybody knows of a huawei emergency software recovery as samsung does... HiSuite only has 4 devices available for emergency software recovery. Also original links on huawei website have disappeared and huawei links for stock rom on xda are also temporarily removed.

I told you to flash custom EMUI rom, not CyanogenMod. Now u need to fastboot flash the stock firmware, after that do a factory reset to get your sim functionality back.
Thanks anyway... I resolved this by flashing an emui 4 based custom ROM and I got SIM back plus root(kangvip). Also did a nandroid backup now that everything works good. Btw I never flashed Cyanogen mod ?.
Not sure if it's worth it to go back to stock now...

well, you said "I installed an android 7.1.1 custom" having in mind 7.1.1 is basically cyanogenmod/RessurectionRemix/OpenKirin... those are not official. And yeah, that rom that you're on right now is also official but with some tweaks/optimisations/modifications so you dont have to worry

Bricked p10+.. Need help..

Hello fellows. I am in a deep sh&*. Maybe someone can help.
I have a p10+ L09 converted to L29, rooted, bootloader unlocked. It was on rooted stock rom. Yesterday, tried to make the update, and something went wrong. Now, I can't install any rom exept future rom or something found here. I've tried rayglobe knife, Huawei multi tool, eRecovery, dload, and no way to install an official rom. I am barely able to install twrp, format data, and install future rom before rebooting.
Tried to extract boot, cust, system from the original rom, but it says finished and bootloop just after the unlocked message. On latest versions, I cant even find them in the update.app..
Any help, any downloadable file or link is really appreciated. Please help...

What error/behaviour are you getting from erecovery?
Plop
Hello mate. Thanks for your time.
ERecovery crash everytime at 5%. If I try to download via erecovery, it doesn't download.
I've tried to extract the files from update. App, and inject them via fastboot. It goes to the end of the operation, but once rebooted, it bootloop before the Huawei logo..
I don't understand what happens.. It's like if the phone don't want the original firmware anymore..
If you have any files to propose me, I really want to try tonight...
Can you somehow recover your original oeminfo with TWRP and retry erecovery? That's how I got out of a similar situation, although I can't say for sure whether I really had the same root cause.
Hmm not sure that the oem info is ok or corrupted...
That's what I am affraid of..
I will try in a moment to see..
If it's corrupted, that means the phone is dead?
In that case you could try funkyhuawei, they provide their own oeminfo and erecovery connection. They do cost money though.
May I ask what makes you want to go away from the fromfuture ROM?
This... Android 5.1, emui 3.1
I don't know if iam becoming stupid with age, but can't find any more recent... And with the kids yelling on my back.... Lol
Well, I found a recent rom from future. Had some troubles with Android locking magisk, but now it's working ( update magisk before putting your Gmail account and restore). For now it's working fine. Just had a few freezes here and there but since this morning it's going fine. I think I'll stay with it for now.
Thanks for the people who tried to help me.

P8Lite stuck on huawei logo - had access to TWRP

Hello, it is my first post on this forum and it of course has to be problem. I am not expert in mobile phone hacking/flashing and this issue is too big for me to handle.
So like 6 hours ago i had working p8lite L21 with official android 6.0 and locked bootloader. I really wanted install costum rom due to performance issue, so i downgrade it back to 5.0 lolipop, than I root it with kingroot and successful extract key and unlock it using this tutorial: https://forum.xda-developers.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=4627
Than I flash recovery and install TWRP 3.0.2-0 and it all just worked. I was so happy that i manage to pull this off and I forgot that now i have EMUI 3.1 (ALE-L21C432B170) and i flashed phone with this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/development/rom-lineageos-14-1-p8-lite-t3824247
Of course it bricked because I missed that part with special version of TWRP. After that i tried to install something older just to get phone to work again:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/development/rom-cyanogenmod-13-0-ale-l21-t3708835
And surprise, surprise, it did not work either and now I am stuck with huawei boot logo.
I did some research how to fix this issue, but i found so many different problems and solutions, I thought that at this point I really should ask for help because I just have no idea what i am doing now At this stage, can i just flash some costum rom (idc what exactly, just wanna to be lightweight) or i have to somehow restore original firmware? And if so how to do it? As i mentioned, i had access to TWRP.
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.
can someone help me with unbricking this phone? ?
@edit ok nevermind, i thought that this phone is cheap anyways so why not risk and just flashed boot/recovery/system from stock rom with fastboot. I did it and it works again, i needed just this simple hint to do it but i guess p8lite forum is dead.

I believe I can help you... Check the First Comment of that post... you'll see two additional firmwares... Only those firmwares have EMUI 4.1... b896 is for dual sim and b895 is for single sim... use any of those as per your requirements... after that download the LineageOS firmware and then proceed as per the Thread's recommended way... Also, before installing LineageOS, make sure you don't have any lockscreen lock...
feel free to ask if you have any more questions...
PS: i may reply bit late... maybe an hour, 5 hours or even days... but will try to check frequently..

So yea, i noticed those two softwares, i have two imei number so i picked b896 version for dual sim, but when i extract it and place in dload folder and try to update it via holding power button + -, i get software installation failed message. So I am not rly sure how to install this firmware, do i have to extract update.app and flash recovery/boot/system with fastboot, or i need to install it using some twrp? I look for guide but everyone are using this powerbutt + - methode to do this

Do you mean Vol +, Vol - and Power Button by powerbutton +- ? That's one way of flashing it, if you get error by that method, try it once again. If it doesn't work at all, then yes extract the update.app and go for the hard way...

Yea, i mean that i holding all three buttons (power vol+ vol-) and than it just says that installation failed. To flash it with fastboot i need to just flash recovery/boot/system or more files? I am asking because currently i have android 5 and this firmware is android 7 and I am just not sure if i can just simply flash those files and it will works.
Thanks for helping me

Which one are you trying to flash??? b896?? or simply LineageOS??
If it's b896, then I did read that it can only be flashed on ALE-L21C02xxx, but i am unsure about it... I did installed LineageOS and Resurrection Remix back in the days but I don't think I ever used C02 ROM for B896...
Also if you have the latest TWRP, you can simply flash with it... Try it...
