My LG K8 had a software update today, who else had this update?
To me it was size of 100-ish mb it is just security level patch.
Edit mine is 2016 version but still I think it was security patch for you too

My security patch level i think after the update is 1st of june 2018
I thought it was the oreo update but multiple websites say that i will get the oreo update but other say i wont
I recived half a month ago and now my security patch level is April 2018.
And no, you will not get the Oreo update I'm 90% sure

Look below at the screenshots one says i will get the oreo update in Q2 of 2018 (dunno what that means) and one website says i wont (see fricking confusing!)
Look if that is not official LG site than scratch that. I tell you any k series phone got system update from one version to another, except for k 10 which was released with lollipop but all other phones in same generation had marshmallow. And that's it they don't bother much with mod range phone (of there is such thing anymore) btw it's almost a year since Oreo release and p is coming up soon out of beta so...
Q2 2018 means second quarter of 2108 which ended near month ago.
You wont get oreo.

Navigation bar as in the buttons in the bottom? There's an option to hide it now! Pretty cool stuff, maybe gsmarena hasn't noticed the update yet?

I updated it today, 1,1Gb, I got Android 8.1 oreo.
But I can't root it... not even boot in fastboot mode.

That's cool! My Nokia 1 is stuck on android 8.1.0 and the 5th August security update
Just set up fathers K8(2017) yesterday and it got prompt for update today, I thought it was just a security update since it is his 3rd budget LG and he never got any update on any of them. I pick up the phone and everything looks a bit different so I go to check what it is going on and I see it is Android 8.1 ! I'm stuck with Android 8.0 and July security update on Moto Z.

I had also received the update but didn't have any security patch for march its still showing January. And also I dont have any problems with signal
EDIT - I just checked for an update and got the security patch but what do you say should I update ? Was that issue u faced after the security update ?

I am not facing any issue like network drop. Everything is fine before and after update.

Not a drop but faster draining
For ex:- If the battery drains by 1% in 5 mins it was draining 1% in 3 mins when the battery was 73% till 50 then it becomes Normal

I don't think Motorola released an April 2017 patch for the Z Play
edit. ... found the April 2017 patch for the Z Play. Apparently, it's rolling out to the RETBR software channel. I sideloaded it on my Canadian Moto Z Play.

I don't know when you'll receive it in India.
I wouldn't know about any issues since I've had the patch installed for about 15 minutes.
According to its release notes, it's only the security patch, so it may not fix anything else.

so, the way out is.. waiting with patience?!
My guess is they're going to directly update to 8.1 and skip 8.0 as it's less buggy. It wouldn't have taken this long?

Maybe it's a prerequisite for the Oreo Update. I had the OnePlus X before this one which got a small update like this for better support of marshmallow.

This is interesting. I just looked and the security update is from back in Aug. I think the change list is the same as all the others that have been out already.
The 810 has the same update with different build number. I'm thinking that these are just late updates for that country. They were behind everyone else.
I don't see any reason we need it. But I could be wrong.

Lol. I know one of the devs for Honor USA and there is NO Oreo release for the 7x for main distribution yet. They just started the beta a month ago. Go check honor USA beta group on Facebook if you need confirmation.

Honestly I see no difference
Hi guys,
I just got this update too on my FRD L04. Since it's been a while I factory reset after an update, I did so to clean up my phone of all the other junk I've been stacking. Well this was a huge mistake because now the my bluetooth earphone won't connect to my phone. Before factory resetting, and on B392 it worked perfectly fine, I don't know why and how the factory reset messed with the Bluetooth connectivity. Anyone have a solution for this? Thanks.

From what I saw, yes. The users that skip an update get a much larger ota update later than what a regularly updated user would get.

I just got the same updates
About phone on top is starting of pie, in pie about phone is on the top... So we are getting pie in next update for sure... Seems time is over... By month end we should get pie now
