yes its the same carrier i just went to the shop and activated it then went home and put it in i even tried my old S7 and it worked on there the only thing i can think of is that the card slot is damages as i thought the sim card that i lost might have been stuck inside the phone but im pretty sure i didnt damage it
if i cant fix this ill go back to my provider tommorow

Sim card scratched

I have been using this sim card for over 5 years already and today when i turn on my phone it no longer detects the sim card, so i tried putting another sim card and it works. Then i checked the sim card and it heavily scratched as i have been changing several phones already in the past, i asked my network operator but they say i have to pay them $20 to issue an new sim card. I think it too expensive, just wondering does anybody know a way that i can try to get my sim back to life? Thanks in advance.

I agreed with Ravi there is no other option available and if you are paying for your monthly recurring charges your charges will be deducted unless your not using the service so just purchase the new sim card.
Agreed, a new sim card is probably best. Theres surely a way they can port your number across etc.
As everybody else said, no way to fix this card..
I had the same problem and just took a new one and replaced it..
This is the only way to be 100% sure that the card will survive another 5 years
With my carrier "3" in Aus, I can just drop in to any 3 store and grab an empty sim, and make a call to customer support to activate it. Its all free. and I've done it a couple of times.
if you need to get the contacts or any other stored data off of it
you can clean it with a pink eraser...GENTLY...
if you have friends in the electronics industry they can get you a thin conductive tape for repairing traces in circuit boards its only good for a very short time too &&&& it must be cut into tiny pieces for each pad of the sim cards pattern
get your data off the darn thing anD GO GET A NEW sim card.
my wife's company sells similar cards to these they are worth about $1 each up to about $7 each fully programmed and printed in fancy colours etc... but bought by the box lot.
you want 1 and don't want the company to make any money on these?
they do have to pay
shipping, handling, duties, taxes, distribution, and the wages of the pimply faced teenager at the store to get it out and hand it to you (10 minutes)
all before they see any profit from your transaction...oops forgot the Visa/interact fee's (3%-ish)
im not complaining its just that $20 doesn't go very far these days
there is frugal and then there is frugal.. this is neither
you can buy a magic simcard and clone that simcard to the new one. they sell them at dealextreme.com for like $6. i dunno if its legal or not where you live.
^dont try this with multiple devices at the same time though. your carrier will track you down.
this one should work:

[Q] WTF SO MAD. Physically cannot insert Sim card into my P8600 that I got TODAY.

I've taken it in and out a few times without any issues. I've been rooting etc. today so i decided that ill keep the sim in my phone while i get things situated. So, I get things situated, and apparently I've broken it. I don't think its my fault at all... the Sim card just simply will not click into the device. I'm pretty sure its because the mechanism is in "SD Card Inserted" mode, but i have NO IDEA how to fix this. I might just send this back and not get a tablet.
Can anyone help me out/give advice.
edit: NOTE: Yes, I have checked to see if im inserting in the correct orientation. I even checked verizons website for a photo simulation.
The pins on the 7.7 are EXTREMELY sensitive. The same thing happened to mine. I ended up setting up an RMA however I just got an email today from Negri telling me that the unit is considered "damaged" and they will not honor the RMA.
I believe this is a design flaw as there is no reason that normal use with a SIM card should cause this sort of damage.
Has this happened to anyone else? We need to make sure that Samsung is aware of the issue.
I believe majority of us here would recommend you taking it to Samsung for repair. While you might have to part with your beloved device for couple weeks but this is possibly the best option.
If you were planning to send it back for repair, I also recommend you to have them calibrating the electronic compass as well if you found it display incorrect reading like mine, which has almost 90-degree off-course.
Happen to me once, push the sim card with something sharp.

Hi, this happened to me last week. I wondered what the hell was going on. The sim would phisically not push down where it once clicked in place.
I only got mine in January. Luckily I got mine from Panamoz with the £12 replacement warranty. Sent it back to Panamoz last week and they agreed it was faulty and sent me a brand new one which I received today

Use #### dual sim + micro sd #### at the same time (with glue)!

Hey Mi Lover and other engineers!
You must deal with this problem have
The solution is simple
Without using special equipment
Only the amount of glue!
You must do the following steps in order to get the correct result
1- Pull out the metal part of the SIM card with razor blade

2- Stick SIM card with amount of glue! (just a little!)
attention:
1- This work is very delicate so cut the around of sim card carefully with razor. (careful dont cut ur hand )
2- dont use amount of glue to stick sim card to sd card. (if u use a lot of glue the height of sd card will be increase and u cant placed sim's slot!
3- It's better use 3G sim card to do it (the IC's are smaller than 4G) if you use 4G press and smash edge of sim card to sleep on the sd card!
4- and last guidance is use 128gig smartphone it's difficult way if u are impatient!
Press "Thanks" if this article was useful
Thanks, tried with 4g sim and 64gb sandisk and works well. Used for 2 weeks now without any trouble.
Only the problem is I managed to put them in... it was hard to do so as it was thicker 4g sim. I used little force.
Now I worry how will I get them out (haven't tried yet)
Edit: After another week I tried to pull sim tray out and it came out ok.
Don't try this, I ruined my SD card as well as the SIM card. This works great, why take the risk?

Well I have broken two sim cards when trying to install this way, all was in pretty good visual condition (not so ugly as above) and fits perfectly in the bed with sd card. Seems that sim card is very sensitive to any pressure when is "naked", but this extender is maybe some ugly solution.
The extender fits in my (flip cover) case without any problem and so the SIM card is very well hidden, you can't see or feel it. If you only use a silicon case you will slighty feel a little bump where the SIM card is attached.

I don't know, on my Mi Max I'm still on Android 7 (using GlobeROM). On my Samsung Note 7 however, I'm using a custom ROM on Android 8 in which this option of simultaneously using 2SIM & SD was made available again (I thought Samsung had blocked this option, but it seems Android 8 is doing that...). So, I guess developers might know how to bypass this.

[HELP] i9505 No Service

So I have this S4 9505. Long story short - Shows NO Service. Tried 2 different stock ROMs directly from sammobile and it still stays the same.
IMEI is OK
WiFi OK
GPS OK
BT OK
Simcard OK
Don't know what else to do. Tried factory ROM's, reboots, reflashing. At first I thought it could be defective sim reader so I replaced it but issue is still there. I also tried 3 different simcards too. All simcards are recognised so fault is not there.
UPDATE:
Service mode says IMEI CERTI: NA

Hi.
Thaat was first I've checked and it's the same.
The IMEI Certi "thing" is a red herring. The problem here is hardware, in that you have a bad SIM card tray. Replace it to fix.

Hi. I did already replaced the original one as it was not reading memory cards but I did ordered 2 of them and from different sources to I will try to swap them around when I'm back home from work tonight. Thanks for suggestion.
When you replaced the tray, did you pull off the tiny foam pad on the original that sits on top of the connector and place it on the new tray? If you didn't, the connector likely popped loose, causing your issue. Replacing the SIM tray is easy, and I had to do it a month after I received my S4. The thing nobody seems to mention is that foam pad. You have to use it on the new tray, or eventually the tray connector will loosen and disconnect.
Turned out it was a badly connected signal/antenna cable that goes between charger port pcb and mainboard. Reconnected it and everything works like it should even with simcard reader dedicated to T-Mob version of S4.
Thanks to everyone who posted and tried to help.
what is your 3G provider

UPDATE: Also Restart your phone
Dude, What is your carrier, then search in google: 3G settings for (3G provider name) for android.
Please hit the like button if helped :fingers-crossed:
Example: 3G settings for verizon for android
Hi. Please read my last post, it was badly connected anteena cable that goes between charger port board and mainboard. After reconnecting all worked fantastic. Also - Reboot? After trying 2 different (3 including original one) simcard readers I think it had enough reboots already And it worked just fine with simreader dedicated for US T-Mobile and that S4 was a Euro 9505 model.
Just to chime in, my replacement SIM tray was for an I9500 and worked fine, though being in the US LTE did not work due to not having bands 2, 4, and 17.

LG G6 issues after wipe/reset

Hi!
My LG phone is doing weird after i did a factory reset 2 days ago. The battery empty's like a waterfall and the phone is continiuously hot.
I tried to do another factory reset/wipe but i got the same issue again. Even with the battery saver turned on, the phone stays alive for only 3 hours with 12 minutes screen on time.
Screenshot battery usage:

What can i do to fix this?
So i did a reset again, installed all my apps, logged in to them, the only thing that i did not do was place the sim card. And it works perfectly! But the moment i pit the sim in it, the battery drains like crazy again due to 'Android System' using all the resources continiously. What the hell is going on? ??
Did you try to do a factory reset using the power button and the Volume down button. Is it going to make a difference maybe. I usually do a factory reset, once with settings so I can wipe the sd card then I use the power button option, so yes twice. works for me.
Yes that is what i did, after that the issue started. The weird thing is, i used another phone (samsung galaxy s3) and the same thing happened there! I just received a new simcard to see if that was the cause of the problem. I hope this issue is over now, i will message here if it is resolved or not.
Edit: sadly it does not! Android os does still use all of the battery, so the sim swap dis not work. Can this be something related to my google account and the settings that come with it? How can i find out why android os is using so much battery?
Tried another system wipe, checked the APN settings since it only drains while sim is in the phone, but that didnt help either
Are you testing any beta app? Try to exit any beta program and restart your phone... for me works.

No i am not, only using regular apps like whatsapp, facebook and such things. No beta's of any kind. The problem also happened rivht after factory reset. Only placed sim and logged in with my google account and it happened already. If i dont place sim the problem is gone.
I think i found the problem, it seems the LG G6 is not reading the sim correctly sometimes. That would explain the phone eating trough the battery, restarting into safe mode at night, and sometikes giving the error that it cant find all wifi networks due to simcard. I'm afraid its hardware related since a factory reset did nor help.
It could be that your little sim tray holder is deformed, and no longer able to properly align the sim card.
I replaced my sim tray holder after it broke, and things works great. I think they are down to less than $5 on ebay now. I bought two trays just in case the tray breaks again.
