[NO ROOT REQUIRED] Oreo: Disable System Applications [G93XX] - Samsung Galaxy S7 Guides, News, & Discussion

Unfortunately I have the USA variant of the S7 (Tmobile, Oreo) which means a locked bootloader, and no root access (for now). However that doesn't mean we can't disable system applications. This should work on ANY S7 variant and most other Samsung devices, Android 6.0 to 8.0. The process is easy and takes little to no time.
****WARNING: Without root access, a factory reset is the only way to restore applications disabled by this method.****
1. Make sure developer options are enabled (settings > about phone > tap build number 7 times).
2. In developer options, make sure ADB debugging is enabled and plug your phone into your PC. (Requires Android SDK/platform tools. See here).
3. Download App Inspector from the Play Store and locate the application(s) you want to disable and tap it.
4. The package name is located at the top in the form of com.android.xxx or com.samsung.xxx. Write down the package name because you need it for the next step.

5. With your phone plugged into your PC, open an ADB window. For this step, I will use the package name for Samsung Weather. You should clear the data of any application prior to disabling. Type the commands below, replacing the Samsung Weather package name with your desired package name:
Code:
adb shell pm clear com.samsung.android.weather
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.weather
6. That's it! If you performed the steps properly, you'll see the word 'success' after each application you disable.

this works. I've tried it before. however applications deleted/disabled using this method that are available in the Play Store can still be installed. just to clear things up

But is it possible to install an older version of a system app using this method?

I'm not sure, but I would say no. This just disables the system app and leaves it in the system untouched. You can try though. Worst that will happen is the app doesn't get installed.

On July 2017 there was an article already about how to uninstall bloatware or unnecessary apps from android smartphones.
Your thread is not new, but better to find.
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
It works fine and I used it on Android 6, 7 and 8 with Samsung S7 (SM-G900F) german firmware.
You can uninstall them, but it is not possible for me to remove them completely from the firmware within the smartphone memory.

Correct. It doesn't remove the app. Just disables it.

I think glei's point was, your post might be a bit too vague to be helpful to someone who comes here looking for clear directions on how to easily root android. Although the addition of the link helps.

Sony Xperia E4 Root Access for all firmwares

ROOT FOR SONY XPERIA E4 ALL FIRMWARES (DUAL AND SINGLE)
In this tutorial I am going to show you how to get ROOT access for your XperiaE4 device.
******Me or the developers of the Rooting applications/programs are not responsible for the damage that your phone might have after the process.
Prerequisites
1.A computer that is running Windows.
2.Internet connection.
3.Half an hour.
Let`s begin!
So there are two methods of rooting your E4 depending on the firmware that you currently use.
To find out which version of firmware you have you need to go to Settings>About Phone, and scroll down until you see which build number you have so you could follow the instructions.
First! 24.0.A.3.8/24.0.B.3.8
Witch this version is more simple to root.
1.Go to Settings>Security and tick Unknown Sources so you could install applications from other sources then Google Play store.
2.Go to this link: https://sites.google.com/site/androidxdacom/file/kingroot_4.1.0.703.apk?attredirects=0
3.Download the application and install it.
**You might get a screen saying that the application is a malware, tick the box and select install anyway.**
4.After you install the application, just let the app do it`s thing.
5.Reboot the device.
Second! 24.0.A.5.14/24.0.B.5.14
Here... Is a bit harder.
1.Download this program to your Computer. http://mmgr.myapp.com/myapp/Kingroot/webapp_kingroot/image/KingRootSetup_105002.exe
***Works only on WINDOWS***
2.Now, install KingRoot to your PC.
3.Go to your phone, Settings>Developer Options and activate USB Debugging
4.Connect the phone to the PC while KingRoot is running on your PC.
5.Wait until the device is recognized
6.Press the ROOT button and wait until the process is done.
That`s it. Those are the most simple methods to root your Xperia E4.

you must change the kinguser with something else..and then delete it...
check here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6IgvVRt3ak
not correct, doesnt work on newest firmware(25.0.A.2.31)
Easer way
Even if you have the latest firmware E2003_25.0.A.2.31 you can root your phone in 3 minutes even without the PC.
All you need is new KingRoot.apk and .... device AFTER factory reset. Because I'm new - I can not post a link, sorry.
But it's really easy to find it
Just install it as a normal apk.
Tested on my E2003 with E2003_25.0.A.2.31_1294-3054_R2A.ftf firmware.
Of course it's for E4G phone.

Google play services Device admin permissions issue

I have a OnePlus 5 with Oxygen OS 9.0.5
Im trying to downgrade Google Play Services, but to do so I have to uninstall updates but it won't let me. So I went to Security & Lock Screen > Device admin apps, but I couldn't find it there. But the I realized there was an active app with admin permission that wasn't showing in the list.
I'm new to xda so I can't post screenshots but in Security & Lock Screen it shows me there is 1 active app under Device admin apps. But when I enter Device admin apps, all the apps listed are deactivated, including find my device.
My question is, how can I uninstall the updates of Google play services? And what is the app that isn't showing in the list?

You should simply install an older version of Google play services from apk mirror, did you tried that?
Is your device rooted and running any mods or magisk modules?
Normally there should be no app active if 0 is shown on the mentioned settings page.

I alrwady tried to update it with the apk but I can't update an app with an apk if the app is still installed in the phone because the message app not installed pops up. I don't have root. I know there should no app active, but it says 1 app active and I don't know why.

[GUIDE][NO ROOT] ADB Bloatware removal Simple Guide for RedMi Note 5A.

Warning: I will not be responsible for any wrong doings that might occur with following this guide, this is my first Guide here, expect some errors. Any damage to any device that might happen by following then steps is responsiblility of particular user not mine. I recommend that you don't do anything you don't understand.
Disclaimer: I do not personally own a RedMi Note 5A device, I helped a friend to clean up some space on their device, as a part of which, I uninstalled some of the OEM apps that were not used by them.
If you use any of the apps, you should not uninstall them.
Difficultly level: Easy to medium.
Experience required: You should be familiar with ADB, Windows BatchScript (optional), Android file system.
As superuser access is not used in this process, root is not required, you can try this on Non-Rooted devices
Tested on : Redmi Note 5A, Android-8.x, MiUi v10.x
Should work on all device prior to Android 9.
Requirements: ADB installed on PC, supposedly windows. A proper USB cable, an Android Phone.
I'll assume you have already setup ADB via Android-SDK or minimalistic ADB tools, and not go into that.
1. Enable developer mode, USB debugging on phone,
2. Connect device to PC (in a USB 2.0 port, preferably).
3. start adb, "adb start-server"
4. Make sure device is available.
Now there is batch file in attachment for uninstalling and a text file with the list of apps I uninstalled. You can either replace the package name with those you want to remove or you can copy the command, make it a single line command and replace the package name directly into the prompt as I did

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Additional details are given in the attachment zip files, see below. You replace the package name with the app you want to uninstall and run the script/command in command line.
Same thing can in theory be achieved if "pm" command is readable by a third party terminal emulator apps like Termux, note that, on new devices, "/" is not readable, "/system/bin/pm" might be readable depending on ROM, thus ADB way should always work, but calling "pm" from on device apps is also possible.
Expected results: single word "success" on a new line.
If it says "device offline", restart adb with "adb kill-server" followed by "adb start-server" , if that doesn't work restart the smartphone, if that doesn't work check that USB port is v2.0( search on Google how to determine ), if that doesn't work, your cable would be faulty or some connection error.
