OREO, can someone with FINGERPRINTS and ENCRYPTION working tell me how you did it? - LG G6 Questions and Answers

US997 user here.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to get both working. The rom doesn't seem to make any difference but the bootloader or kernel does. What happens to me is the following:
Situation 1 (Fingerprints but encryption hangs up)
TWRP: 3.2.1_rel_o2-melina
Kernel: The one with lineageos (3.18.113)
Bootloader: Nougat US997_17A_(TWRP)_bootloader_only.zip
Rom: Lineageos 15.1 (tried both version on the forums here) and ASOPextended
No Gapps
In TWRP I wipe/format everything. Then install bootloader, then lineageos. Fingerprints work but encryptions hangs at (Time remaining 00:00 with the green android)
Situation 2
TWRP: 3.2.1_rel_o2-melina
Kernel: boot_LG-US997_3.18.71-melina-rel_o2_2018.06.08_STOCK_zefie
Bootloader: Nougat US997_17A_(TWRP)_bootloader_only.zip
Rom: Lineageos 15.1
No Gapps
In TWRP I wipe/format everything. Then install bootloader, then lineageos, then kernel. Once into Lineage I don't have the fingerprint option but I can go with the encryption no problem.
Can please someone who has both working tell me what you have done ? Thanks a lot!

Tried to flash the kernel with zefie anti-root removal and still doesn't work

Solution for TWRP 2.8.x 6.0+ Custom Rom flashing problem

Hi all! I'm new here (at least at account level) and with my first thread I want to help people which can't flash 6.0+ roms in official 2.8.x TWRP for our Moto X 2013 (like @dziarski in TWRP 2.8.7.0 thread).
I have Moto X 2013 (XT1052 model for reference) and I unlock bootloader, root and put costum roms not so long ago but here out to resolve this.
You need to upgrade your TWRP because TWRP <3.x don't support 6.0+ rom flashing well (edit: mochi579 below report twrp 2.8.7.0 can work for flashing too even I recommend latest 3.0.x version for avoid all problem especially with 7.x roms). I advice you to check out unofficial TWRP 3.0.2-0 by fantastic TeamMEX here.
This updated version grant you to flash both 6.0+ and 7.0 roms (tested myself) without any error.
There are my ROMs test to try this TWRP:
Legenda: (Android version)
TWRP 2.8.6.0 official:
Resurrection Remix 5.7.4 (6.0.1) -> failed immediately with this error
Code:
E: Error executing updater binary in zip "/..."
Error flashing zip "/..."
After some research I understood I need to updated my TWRP and here's the result
TWRP unofficial 3.0.2-0 by @TeamMex:
RR 5.7.4 (6.0.1) again -> succes without problem (I use right now)
CM13 (6.0.1) -> succes
CM14 (7.0) -> succes
OctOS Oct-M (6.0.1) -> succes
Xperience 11.0.0_rxx (7.0) -> succes
All succes without any error during flashing.
Just in case I want to add my step even its very common:
1) Make a NANDroid backup if I don't have it already
2) Wipe Cache, Data, System, ART/Dalvick cache
3) Optional factory reset (cache,art/dalvik and data)
4) Flashing ROM + Gapps from OpenGapps (remember to select ARM)
5) Reboot and finish
If there's a problem in the post or its wrong place (its here or Q&A) please let me know
Thank you WOrld1. But I'm flashing cm13, cm 14 & xpe 11 using TWRP 2.8.7.0 and it's working perfect except some known bugs.

Hi,
I was using 2.8.6.0 because in the root thread by Kidjoe here in General he write about a possible read error about SD card in the phone (clearly a bug because we don't have it xD), so my experience with 2.8.7.0 is zero unfortunately but I think it's very similar.
I have zero problem flashing the rom I listed, for various reason some mod I flashing more than one time (never because flashing problem, usually rom itself problem or just jumping back and forth).
I flash xperience 2 times, cm13/14 and OctOS one time and Resurrection Remix many times if we include backup when coming back from these ROMs.
The only know bug I experienced in 3.0.2-0 is slow flashing in "normal" condition. Just follow the note in the op of recovery thread:
Code:
NOTE: If you have slow format on ext4 go to Settings->Use rm -rf instead of formatting
Copy pasted from TeamMEX thread.

Tab 4 LTE SM-T535 recognized as matissewifi

SOLVED: TWRP 3.0.3 uploaded by sub77 on androidfilehost doesn't properly recognize devices. I flashed the older 3.0.2-8 and it works fine and let me able to flash matisselte rom. Anyway, I flashed crdroid but It's stuck on boot animation.
Hello everybody,
I recently bought a secondhand Galaxy Tab 4 SM-T535. It has the android stock rom 5.2 and I wanted to flash a CM or any custom rom to speed it up a bit and remove all pre-installed apps. I did flash TWRP through Odin and it works fine, then I copied Gapps for 7.1 pico versión and crDroid custom rom based on LineageOS 14.1 and nougat 7.1 for matisselte aka Tab 4 SM-T535. I followed instructions (that are pretty the same for every custom rom) so I wiped dalvik, cache, system and data, then I flashed (tried to) crDroid 14.1 zip and... TWRP says something like: unable to flash zip, it is for device matisselte but this is matissewifi. Wtf?! So, ok. I thought I'm blind and I got the wrong version, I downloaded the matissewifi version, tried to flash again and it did flash. Then I flashed Gapps and rebooted, now it goes directly in download mode and says Could not boot normally... What is happening? I also tried CM 14.1 for matissewifi, it flashes but can't boot and I'm unable to flash the matisselte version. Why?
it is for sure the LTE tablet, I read it in settings and info in the android stock rom and it has a sim slot, so it can't be the wifi one.
Thank you in advance for any reply. Let me know if you need more informations. Thanks.
P. S. I already searched in the forum and didn't find any similar case.
Hi,
has anybody found a solution...?
seen too late.....
"SOLVED: TWRP 3.0.3 uploaded by sub77 on androidfilehost doesn't properly recognize devices. I flashed the older 3.0.2-8 and it works fine and let me able to flash matisselte rom. Anyway, I flashed crdroid but It's stuck on boot animation. "
So glad you posted this because I had failed in all my attempts and had tried a few TWRP versions but not that one, which worked perfectly with Lineage 14.1.

Moto G4 Plus (XT1644) Bricked

Hey, so I wanted to install a custom ROM (LineageOS 14.1) anyway, I found this site that was showing me how to but first i needed to unlock bootloader and install TWRP, i clicked on the steps for that and it brought me here:
https://devsjournal.com/how-to-root...to_unlock_Bootloader_of_Motorola_Moto_G4_Plus
I followed all the steps on that page, even installing the SuperSU, but this is where the problem began. After rebooting from installing SuperSU i was stuck on a black screen (not even backlight) and a white blinking LED light next to the fingerprint scanner. I began to look around for a fix and i found this site:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/help/problem-boot-flashing-supersu-t3507127
I followed the steps but nothing worked. Then i tried this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4/help/troubleshooting-twrp-boot-loop-ota-t3714325
but that still didn't work. Flashing a new ROM does not fix the problem, and it seems nothing will. I am able to get into the bootloader and I am also still able to get into TWRP but i can't boot into ROM. I need help.
I should have attached this before but here is a picture of the bootloader. After typing in all those command the only thing that changed was the yellow text that says Software status: Modified
1) What ROM are you trying to flash onto your device?
2)The issue here appears to be that you've rooted on the stock ROM - what those pages don't mention is that those steps only work for Marshmallow stock ROMs - attempting to root on the stock Motorola Nougat ROM may cause you to bootloop and you need a custom kernel to root on stock Nougat ROMs. One way around this may be to flash a custom kernel such as ElementalX 2.0.1 https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/development/kernel-elementalx-g4-0-01-t3424836 then attempt to boot. You can boot to TWRP, connect your device to your computer, which should show up as internal storage. There, you should be able to copy a download of the custom kernel to your device and flash through TWRP. If you made a backup before rooting, you could re-flash just the boot (kernel) partition to restore a clean stock kernel then attempt to flash the custom kernel and then root.
3)You could alternatively boot to TWRP and flash Lineage. You do not need root at all to flash custom ROMs - just an unlocked bootloader. Root for installing custom ROMs is unnecessary. Be aware to flash the Lineage build matching your TWRP (i.e. 32 bit Lineage if you're running the official TWRP or any other 32 bit TWRP recovery for athene, 64 bit Lineage only is flashable with the 64 bit TWRP, else you'll get an error 255 on flashing). As always, flashing a new custom ROM requires a /system, /data and /cache wipe at least - possibly an internal storage wipe, so back up to your computer or the cloud as necessary.
4)As for the modified status, that may have been from rooting on the stock kernel. That can disappear if you were to flash a stock OTA onto your device, but that would mean flashing the NPJ25.93-14.7 Sept 2017 security patch stock ROM (latest leak we have for XT1644 devices as far as I recall), and then taking OTA updates up to April 2018 which may be risky.

Yea i should have been more clear on what ROM i was trying to flash, i wanted to flash LineageOS but when i try to flash it and boot i still get the same problem, the led light just blinks over and over until i unplug the phone or go into the bootloader. Maybe i have the wrong version of something? All i know is that the phone was working perfectly fine before and it is the XT1644 model. It had all its updates up to date but i just wanted to install LineageOS, i do now realize that you don't need root to flash a custom ROM but also i don't know where to find files for the kernel you are talking about, I also did not make a backup (lets just say im pretty stupid and i know i should have). If you have any info or need any more to further assist me, let me know. Thank you for responding!
So i tried flashing the custom kernel and it looked like everything was working, but the phone still won't boot, it just flashes the LED light, also i reinstalled LineageOS after wiping all the cache and internal storage and stuff but it still hasn't worked.
Hey, i got good news, i was able to get the phone to boot by downloading and following these steps here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...e-npj25-93-t3549369/post70843323#post70843323
The phone now is working and i will attempt to install LineageOS once more. Thank you for you help!

Can't upgrade from Lineageos 15.1 to Lineageos 16 (microg)

Hey,
there are already three different Lineageos (microg) 16 builds. But after I am flashing one of them, my Xiaomi Mi A1 boots into complete darkness/ black screen. Any idea what are doing wrong?
Workflow:
boot twrp recovery.img
flash lineage 16 (microg) e.g. lineage-16.0-20190409-microG-tissot.zip
reboot system
-> black screen
When I reflash 15.1 (lineage-15.1-20190313-microG-tissot.zip) everything works as expected! Any idea?
Flash latest stock Pie and then 16 LOS.
Maybe the problem is the recovery. What recovery do you use?
Similar upgrade and failed Lineageos 15.1 install

Hello and good day! I'm planning to follow a similar upgrade path on a HTC M10 running Android 8.0 via Lineageos 15.1 install. Lineageos 15.1 installs with no errors in TWRP, device is rebooted, Lineageos logo crosses screen for several minutes, and device returns to TWRP recovery instead of starting phone. After the second re-install, I installed the OEM boot.img and same outcome. Any suggests how to proceed next?

You should post this in the HTC M10 section or the LOS 15.1 thread for your phone. The solution works here may not work for your phone.
Gudiance appreicated.
Guidance is appreciated and will do. Thanks. Danny.

Problems with installing LineageOS 17.1

Good morrning everyone!
i am a little bit helpless with my plan to flash LineageOS 17.1 onto my OP 6T. I started from LineageOS 16, which was rooted with Magisk.
With my first attempt I followed the instructions from https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/fajita/install. I used the latest files from 20200903 of LineageOS. But after flashing temporarily the recovery, I ended up with a stuck in oem-unlock-screen. To fix it i used the MSMtool 4.0.59.
I flashed only boot and not boot_a or boot_b. So I tried it with that now. But I only got the same results. I was unable to boot into recovery. So again MSM Tool and unlocking the bootloader.
Then I tried to install it via TWRP. OOS 9.0.13:
1. booted into fastboot mode
2. booted TWRP 3.3.1.0
3. Wiped Data and rebooted into fastboot mode
4. booted again TWRP 3.3.1.0
5. installed LineageOS lineage-17.1-20200903-nightly-fajita-signed.zip
6. installed TWRP 3.4.0
7. rebooted into recovery
8. repeated 5. and 6.
9. rebooted into recovery
10. installed open gapps-nano
11. installed Magisk 20.4
12. rebooted the system
Result: Qualcomm CrashDump Mode......
I do not understand what I did wrong. In June I installed Lineage OS on another OP 6T and it worked fine with flashing the recovery to boot_a. But I do not know which OOS was installed. No I am trying it since hours and only end up in the above mentioned results.
What do I have to do? Thanks for your help in advance!

My LOS Install Guide
- Don't use TWRP 3.4.x. Use 3.3.1-32 (The latest 3.3.1 version.) 3.4.x will give you issues.
Thank you lot. Lineage ist booting =)

I also just noticed you are trying to use a very old version of OOS (which also means old firmware). Why are you using 9.0.13? Perhaps this could be your issue.
I need to update my guide, but 10.3.5, and the latest weekly 9-3 work fine. One warning, I never did get the 10.3.5 fastboot ROM to work on either of my 6Ts. The 10.3.4 Fastboot ROM works fine, then I had to update to 10.3.5 using TWRP.
I asked if anyone else had problems with the 10.3.5 fastboot ROM in the fastboot thread but didnt get any replies...
I started at first wit OOS 9 because of the latest (?) msm tool. I regocnized later, that it is crucial to update OOS to Android 10 what I did after I posted my question. I installed OOS 10.3.5 from oneplus.com via TWRP.
So all I had to do yesterday was to reinstall TWRP 3.3.1-32.
Your guide for installing LineageOS was by far the best I got. All the little explenations were the things I needed to understand, why the steps had to be done. So again thank you for your help and your guide which is really really good.

Also if you like themed TWRP @acuicultor and @ morphine1e1 have a really nice creation for OP6/6t here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...covery-theme-blacked-twrp-acuicultor-t3847752
It's latest twrp but I've been using it for months without any issues and I flash much more than a regular user. Installed LOS twice and all good.
或许你应该先升级到安卓10 再去安装lineage os 17
