unfortunately not working for me.

If the instructions are too technical for you and you can't figure out how to make it happen, following the tutorial, then I'm afraid I'll have a hard-time helping you unless I have the phone in my hand. Unfortunately, hacking phone is a process where we learn from our mistakes. I had a few times where I almost bricked my then new to me Samsung Galaxy SIII, but then I searched the Internet trying and trying again until I understood how do to thing to get it back to work.
Maybe, try to flash TWRP temporarily, you should at least give it a shot:
fastboot boot TWRP-lux-2.8.7-r4.img

I'm pretty sure it will work even if your bootloader is locked because it just install it temporarily. You execute the flashboot command, then you navigate the option on the phone until you see the option "Reboot recovery". It will reboot in TWRP recovery, then you could use the interface to install this recovery backup of Marshmallow. Instructions on how to install the recovery backup in TWRP, are here.

Hmm command not allowed usually says that bootloader is locked. You did unlock it manually again right? Because it often is locked even though it says unlocked on the bootloader.

I followed the post and I am getting stuck on this step: "Allow ADB debugging on the device and check this is found by doing ADB devices in the terminal"
When I run ADB devices from terminal within the brick-douglas / amonet folder i get command not found. I noticed on some of the posts it states to use the attached file from the first post. That is the file i am using. Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated! Thanks

I am running it on a linux usb. I was not on fastboot (didnt realize what that was). However I bought the factory cable and tried it in fastboot from startup (amazon fire logo). It will only stay there for about 30 seconds before moving on to normal boot. I tried issuing the sudu command but it just says waiting for device. Thanks again for all the help

open cmd and write "adb reboot bootloader" while you're on fireOs

Thanks for the quick reply.. But I heard that Amazon patched it on 5.3.7.0.. Is it true? I want to flash lineage os on it
EDIT: I just flashed twrp and lineage os 12.. It's very smooth and to those people who's asking if it's possible to flash twrp/root on 5.3.7.0.. Yes it can.. Feel free to ask me any questions..

Hi sorry to bother you but I followed that guide and it wouldn't work. I've thought about doing the downgrading/bricking step (4) first but I don't want to risk bricking my device indefinitely as I need it currently and don't have time to wait around for the equipment to open it.
By following the guide step by step I got stuck at step 3 with the "init step 4" error. So I wonder, since I'm running 5.3.7.0, do I need to run step 4 first or, since step 3 doesn't work, there is no hope? I have a Fire hd 10 on 5.3.7.0 build 650601220
I hope I was clear enough, thank you in advance
Maybe u got error because u are using the files which is for AMAZON FIRE HD 8 2017..Download these files
Brick : https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4825063&d=1569194761
amonet-suez : https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4731548&stc=1&d=1553629603
extract "brick-suez.zip" and now go to the folder that you just extracted "brick-suez.zip"
once you plugged ur device on fastboot mode
write these command
1.run this command "sudo ./brick.sh" (it will brick if ur device.. YOU NEED TO DO THIS STEP! IT'S VERY IMPORTANT)
-now u successfully bricked ur device.. now ur gonna unbrick it..
Now extract "amonet-suez-v1.1.2.zip" and go to the folder that you extracted "amonet-suez-v1.1.2.zip"
2. run this command "sudo ./bootrom-step.sh"
(this will unbrick the tablet)
3. run this command "sudo ./fastboot-step.sh"
(after a few secs/mins, you will be booted to twrp)
*ALL OF THESE COMMANDS ARE IMPORTANT AND DONT SKIP IT*
Pardon me if my English sucks xD

After running "sudo ./bootrom-step.sh" the Terminal shows waiting for bootrom to me, nothing happens.
Could anyone help me, please?
