Look at the D771A XTRONS unit. I got one, seems substantial, works well. Octacore, Android 7.1. Just installed it. I got mine off eBay when they had one of their 20% off everything sales. Happy so far. Waze works fine.

Alittle pricey but I definitely like the style

Yeah, but XTRONS seems to be one of the better known brands. It has the latest version of Android I could find in a 1 DIN unit, and had the features I wanted, especially the understated looks. No flashing lights, logos, etc. The screen mechanism is solid, smooth, with no free play. The touchscreen is responsive. So far, so good. Just keep your eye out for eBay sales.

It has to be a flip out, or it will hit my hand when shifting.

I've had a couple quad core 2gb flip out units and they all have some quirk or other. I have a Hizpo one right now and its pretty slow to start up as well as GPS. It does work though and has good sound. I was going to try that xtrons one next.
I wouldn't buy my Hizpo one again even though I paid ~185 USD shipped which is about as cheap as you can get and still get 2gb ram and 32gb rom. Can get a 16gb rom a little less but I say go for that xtrons.

Branded single din android units?

Hi guys, I know there are a mountain of Chinese generic units out there running android , however I am worried about QA and support as we all know they are not the highest of priorities for some of these 'manufacturers'/generic brands.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a properly-branded (eg. sony, phillips, pioneer) etc. android headunit that is single din in size?
If not I may just have to take a gamble with the erisin I have my eyes on!
Thanks
Same here, I have had a couple of Chinese ICE systems and after a year or so they start to fail and I can only fit a single din unit to my car
Does anyone have any recommendations for a single din unit please?
bump for an update.
The market certainly does seem quite limited. The best single DIN unit I've found spec-wise seems to be this one sold under the Pumpkin brand: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pumpkin-Capacitive-Multi-touch-Navigation-Multimedia/dp/B00VLLN44G/
Edit: Seems they've also made a video demonstrating the functions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmQJd9o8TCw

Has anyone actually tried the Pumpkin? I agree it looks the best on paper.
Hello,
The EONON GA1312 looks like the same device!

I had that one, i found an updated one on alibaba and fitted it last week. higher res screen, netter audio, dab reveiver and has a mic extention cable. and its looks are colour configurable. Still a quad core unit too. so its the same but much better.
EDIT: i cant post links as xda wont let me pm if you want it or search alibaba for Android4.4 quad-core RK PX3 1.6GHz 7inch 1din universal car DVD player with built-in WiFi,7 colors button light,mirror-link,OBD
got it imported and with thedab option it still worked out cheaper!

Are there any powerful single-DIN units that don't have a fold-out screen?
I would think a single din unit with no fold out screen would have such a small barely viewable screen for accessing the android setup, as well as maps and other apps...

Parrot once made a single-DIN head unit with a full colour screen, it was actually not bad for its age:

It's long been discontinued, unfortunately.

Overwhelmed. Need advice on what head unit

Hey guys. I have fairly simple requirements for an Android head unit.
Ability to load Android apps such as a launcher, Sirius app, poweramp and Google maps
CD player for the rare times
Able to tether Wi-Fi from my phone
Backup camera capable
Audio out for an amp
Auxiliary in
Sd card or usb inputs
I'm completely new to Android head units. Is there anything out there that suits my needs?
That pretty much describes all of them.
Well, except for the "CD" part. What is a CD?
(I kid)
Wouldn't it be easier to just rip your CDs and call it good?
I decided on the Avin double din unit
Which one sir? Can we have link?

Why would he buying an headunit with a outdated OS (jelly bean) and hardware (dual core and 1gb memory) for lots of money.
I have a Ownice C200, far more stable and runs more apps than for jelly bean.
If you want the latest headunit, Ownice just came out with the C500, this one runs on Mashmallow and got 4G LTE build in.

Do you talk about the avin avant 2?
Do you have a link of that headunit?
It's a stock looking unit and I'm big on things looking oem. I'm not into flashy car audio. This unit runs everything I need it to run. I've been rocking a nexus 7 tablet as my car audio and everything I use it for this head unit is capable of. I'd leave the nexus in there but I am just tired of its unreliability in high temperature, and it's out of place look.
It's for an 04 Mercedes c class. Tommy at Avin has had exceptional pre sales support replying to all my annoying questions. Got it for $399, I can live with that.

Sorry to say but this unit got crap specs. I had before similar with same spec. Maaaan it was dam annoying slow....yhhh
It will be fine. It's a car radio. Music and navigation don't require cutting edge specs.
I was frustrating with those simply tasks ?

just got a Dasaita Hot Audio V600 for a Jeep Wrangler

So i have posted several times on this board about my various Joying units, and I have a thread about my Seicane:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...cane-10-1-inch-android-6-0-head-unit-t3656383
However it lacked the Dormancy that Joying had and the sound wasn't great on it. So I decided to pick up a @hotaudio unit, in particular this one:
Dasaita 10.2" Android 6.0 Car GPS Player for Jeep Wrangler
I got it in the mail on Tuesday, I made an unboxing video here:
https://youtu.be/z1v2t8cSNvc
I also have it installed, that video isn't up yet. But so far so good, it seems to take most of the best features of the Joying and Seicane and mesh them together. It is also a PX5 MTCD, so it has a lot of MTCD like features that my original Joying had, so it is like a bit of nostalgia for me. However thanks to the Octacore and 2GB of RAM, it doesn't have the slowness of my original 1GB of RAM Joying unit.
How is the fit and finish of this unit when installed? I have the Joying 6.2 2GB Sofia unit and love it. Sounds WAYYYY better than that stock crap I had. Interested in this one though. Does it work with all apps, most importantly waze? One more thing where did you order it from? Ebay?
it fits better than the Seicane model I had previously. The Seicane seemed to look spot on color-wise, but the Hot Audio is a smidgen darker than the other plastic. However the Hot Audio is also harder than the Seicane, so it installs easier. Still sucks to install, but not as bad as the Seicane.
So i definitely like it better than the Seicane, and it looks much better than the Joying. I have over a year experience with Joying, so I'm waiting to see how the Hot Audio turns out.
So far, I'm loving it, everything works like a champ, Waze included. The sound quality is top notch, maybe even better than Joying
Install video is up
Thanks for the video.
My unit comes in Tuesday.
My Car is a 2008 civic SI.
The Hu is not compatible with the stock amplifier. I'll need to use a metra 70-1722 as the middle man and figure out how to integrate the stock amp.

Cool, post some pics. After seeing mine, my buddy wants one for his Camry.
I am pretty happy with mine, just one issue I need to figure out.
When using Auto Sleep, the USB will randomly not mount properly when it wakes from sleep.

I know you guys haven't really had a long enough time to test the features of this unit.. but i'm in the market as a first time android head unit owner and was considering the joying (JY-UM135N2, 2 gb, sofia), but also would consider others.. is the Daisaita worth looking at?
Not sure what the price of the unit is since when I click the "buy now" link.. nothing opens. Hah.
Thanks!
You have to buy from eBay or Aliexpress.
I have both the Joying and the Dasaita.
If Dasaita can fix this one bug, then it is one to go for.
Joying has always been a good thing for me
Here is the hidden MicroSD card
Here is a video about wiring a PAC harness to a Joying.
The same principles would apply to Seicane or Dasaita. And if the default harness doesn't work with the Alpine and/or Infiniti, it will definitely work with a PAC.
Does this thing support HD Radio, by the way? I was looking into getting the universal version (Nissan I think is the universal one), but I don't see any mention of it being supported.

Xtrons TE697P Vs Hizpo GAAH6726

So I'm looking to buy an android OS car radio soon. I think I have it narrowed down to two different models. I'm pretty much wanting something that has all the bells and whistles. I'm leaning towards the Extrons model because it seems to be the bigger brand so I was able to find reviews on it much easier. The Hizpo I had trouble finding reviews for. So does anyone know how the Hizpo compares to the Xtrons? They both have 4GB of ram, 32gb of storage, dvd player, identical processors?, 7' touch screen. I'm curious on the audio side of things if they are both good and quality wise. I'm looking to make a decision with in the next 40 hours.
I did like how the Hizpo had the SD card option and map sd card on the front. The Xtrons only has the map sd card option on the front where the additional storage is done by usb on the back.
Xtrons TE697P

And your able to change the color of the led touch screen buttons on the left side of the unit, right? Unless you went with a different model. I don't like the blue color they use in their ebay listings it would clash with my color scheme of my car haha.

I'd recommend checking out XTRONS 7 Inch Android 8.0 Octa Core 4G RAM 32G ROM HD Digital Multi-touch Screen Car Stereo. It looks a lot like the system you are looking ay from "Hizpo". My own personal preference and suggestion to you would be to go with the bigger brand which is "Xtrons" based on what I've seen.

Yeah, but I'd like to keep the CD/DVD option. The one you linked doesn't have it. It's one I'v looked into but it pretty much shares all of the features of the Xtrons model I had listed.

No I have the Xtrons model for E90 BMW's.
xtrons is the big brand, but hizpo has more features
hizpo has DTV-IN and xtrons does not have, I also think about buying soon, I have seen many options on ebay, I prefer xtrons, it looks more elegant but I am looking for DVB-T / DVB-T2 / ATSC / ISDB Box Support

Realized this is over a year old. Just incase you haven't received an answer, I used Car Launcher Pro App from Google Play. I have low memory in my head unit, but as long as I can get the radio, weather, time and MPH I'm good. They also have a free version, but Pro is pretty affordable. Yes, it corrects the temperature and MPH.
