[Discussion] OxygenOS vs. LineageOS - OnePlus 5T Guides, News, & Discussion

Background story: I've been an enthusiastic lineage (and cm) user for years. The first thing I did after unboxing any new phone was installing lineage (without even testing the stock rom) because I knew what I got. Few month back I bought two OP5T (one for my gf one for me) and installed lineage. Mine was quite fine but my gf's phone kept having issues (e.g. front cam not working). After a while I had a look at oxygen and I realized that it is not that different or at least not second to none but on the other hand has some advantages two.
Anyway after using OxygenOS for some weeks now I created my list of dis-/advantages:
Advantages over Lineage
- Overall better functionality/ availibility of sensors
• Better camera
• No issues with frontcam
• Faceunlock availible
• No microphone noise on headset during calls
- Gesture navigation (pie control)
- Round battery icon
- Less smaller bugs
- Excellent performance and battery life (prob. Better than lineage even without all those tweaks and possibilities of adjustment)
- Update to Android 8 was faster than lineage itself (if I remember correctly)
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Disadvantages vs. Lineage
Annoying:
- Double tap to wake doesn't work during calls
- Double tap on taskbar to sleep not availible
- Switching songs while display off with Vol up/ down not availible
- Vibration at screen on can't be disabled
I can live with it:
- Change Keyboard notification can't be disabled
- Shifting cursor in text with Vol up/ down not availible
- hold back button to kill not availible
- hold home button to switch to last app (can be worked around by swiping up and hold and then being directed to the recents menu on navigation control)
- Some spam apps
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
What are your thoughts/ experiences? Do you have something to add to the lists that I forgot?
And the most important question: do you have solutions or work arounds for the disadvantages that I listed.

Advantage LOS over OOS:
1. Left and Right keyboard arrows appearing on Navigation Bar when keyboard is out.
2. ???

Hi,
I'm in the exact same situation. Using Lineage for years until i tested it on my OP5t!
Honestly, my main concern was to keep my smartphone up to date. But now, we have security updates less than a month late, and may be quicker now that OP5t have trabble project...
Codename Phoenix was for be the best custom rom, but I must say i've nothing to criticize about OOS.
I stick with the betas and have no issue, camera is great, face unlock too, battery life is very good and the phone is very smooth (way better than my colleague s8+).
Not to mention the full screen videos and the gesture mode.
You can just desactivate the spam apps and it's very fine for me!

Advantage LOS over OOS:
1. Trust (Data protection)
2. Compatibility to Google Dialer
3. Switchable Root
4. Untill now faster Update
5. Better , adjustable gestures via xposed edge
Disadvantage LOS over OOS:
1. Camera better on Stock rom
2. Better Voice microphone quality on Stock if Bluetooth headset connected

Completely agree with OP. Finally I am using a stock rom even without rooting it (OB11) and completely satisfied.

Wish I would have read this thread before installing Lineage on a 5T. Same experience. Huge waste of time.
I am a big fan of Lineage and it has always been awesome. My Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is simply awesome and so has every other device I have ever used it on. Love it.
The 5T is a huge disappointment.
1 - the camera sucks. Even the google hacked camera sucks. - slow and welcome to crash city. HDR+ is second rate.
Front camera crashes
google photos crashes
3rd party cameras are terrible. They take pictures like its 1999. No HDR. If you do install a hacked camera with HDR or 3rd party, get ready to take pics like its 2008 - seconds between the 3 exposures. Time to carry a tripod again.
2 - no face ID. could not get it to work by flashing a hacked face id.
3 - Google Pay - it works if you put the time in to hack it with Magiks.
Those are the 3 main issues. #2 and #3 are important so #2 is the main deal breaker.
I should have tested Oxyogen OS first before installing Lineage. Oxyogen OS is very similar, it has many of the enhancements you are used to. Think of it as a commercial Lineage - it has not lost its roots.
The big deal is the Camera. It is great stuff. Go ahead and test other camera apps and then go back to the one plus camera app. Wow its like coming out of the dark ages.
Just like the post above, stock rom without root is actually fantastic! Dare I say - even better (software) than Vanilla android on a pixel 2XL.
I did open up the boot loader so you can push stuff via adb if for some reason you get stuck in a boot loop.
I hope this post helps someone. I wasted at least 6 hours messing around with hacks trying to get this to work for no reason! Oxogen OS is the rom of my dreams.

OOS cam exists on custom ROMs too
I don't use pay so I can't speak on that
AOSP is the way to go imo, but I respect the OOS experience as long as I have RZ kernel installed. Currently on CNP and I am very happy.

First of all this should have been Custom roms vs OOS
you can get better everything than OOS on custom roms thanks to google camera port.
so I would say this setup would rekt OOS(Latest Pixel Experience Oreo official+ firmware 5.1.3+RedFlare Kernel)
and you basically have everything out your 5T

Does lineageos or any custom rom have 16:9 app compatibility mode like in OOS? If not then all custom roms are useless to me.
And I'm not talking about full screen support, that doesn't do anything but stretch non working apps to full screen, further making things worse.

Can you confirm? I'm not talking about full screen support. I'm talking about 16:9 mode where there are 2 black bars at the sides. Not full screen mode where the app gets stretched to fill up the screen.
I have games that cannot work in 18:9 aspect ratio. They have to work in 16:9 ratio. I tried a rom once with a full screen support mode and it does not add 2 black bars at the side.
Only OOS has that option of proper app scaling. I'm pretty sure lineageos does not have that option of app scaling to 16:9.

I was using Xiaomi Mi 5s before OP5T, with Lineage OS on it... Miui was not option for me... So when I looked for phone with Lineage OS experience, but on stock rom, I could buy some budget Android One device, or I could get some OP phone with OOS which is way better. So now, after years of rooting and installing CM/Lineage OS, modding stuff to work properly, I'm using stock rom witout root and it is great.

advantage of oos over any lineage or aosp based rom
1. sensors and networks are better.
2. no hi res audio and usage of DAC on any custom rom. oos uses the DAC to its fullest capabilities while the same phone on lineage or aosp sound poop. when selecting hifi option on uapp, neutron, poweramp custom roms don't even playback audio let alone sound good. FLAC files on headphones like beyerdynamic dt770, ath m50x, fiio fh5 on custom roms sound so bad.
3. fp scanner slightly slower on all custom roms.

I recently got the 5T and used OxygenOS for two days, then switched to LineageOS.
I disliked not been able to set the notification light to always be on when I got a notification on OxygenOS, I also missed the privacy guard feature and other minor customisations which are possible on LineageOS. However other than that OxygenOS is not bad at all to be fair.
I've personally found LineageOS to be very stable, everything works for me as expected. I wouldn't say the sensors / network is any better or worse personally. My 5T's current up-time is 12 days.
You need to pass safteynet to use Google Pay, which most custom roms will not out the box. This is not just a OnePlus 5T issue, its an issue on most custom roms for most devices. Simply install Magisk and any apps that check against safteynet will work fine. I've been using Magisk for years on my OnePlus One, both for Google Pay and Pokemon Go.
My only complaint is the camera, unless you use HDR the image quality is bad and looks like a water painting when you zoom in. This is somewhat better on OxygenOS, however it's far from perfect regardless of the rom.
However with HDR+ on the Google Camera photos are great. I'd say this applies to both OxygenOS and LineageOS, however with OxygenOS you can record 1080p @ 60fps, which is currently not an option on LineageOS. 4k @ 30fps looks great with Google Camera on LinageOS however.
I can't really comment on face unlock as i don't use it.

About Pixel Experience
Battery is on par with other ROMS ( I use Greenify and GMS doze)
I haven't noticed any problem with multitouch here and I play various games
Wifi works perfectly too, no reboot to activate
I don't use pop-up notifications, so no glitches here
I have PIP ( Maps, YouTube, etc)

Any comparison review between global and China? Things that are not working on China or things that are exists only in global? Problem with Google services in China?
Thanks in advance since I'm thinking moving forward from global since long time now there is no proper update...
I too get wifi issues with pixel experience. After some time (maybe 10 minutes or so) the wifi constantly drops and does not work even though it shows as being connected, but I've found this issue persists for all oreo roms for the mi 6, even miui, so this issue for me is not specific to pixel experience. On 7.1.2 I have no such issues.

Well you have to deal with Chinese apps like 20 of them also there's only a few languages mostly Chinese and English and there are some parts that stays Chinese like the search app,tho you can't switch it to Google search app
You can install google apps easily but you can't set Google assistant on the home button
That's it nothing more if u can live with that switch to it

i saw they have an Oreo for mi6. i had mokee on my

You can always use system app remover to remove chinese content. And if you dont want any chinese character under the full system, you can install xiaomi.eu. You can switch search app to google. You can set google asistant to home button.
Nothing you say is actually makes sense

1)I got over 204000 with antutu
2)No touch glitches in my phone.
3)Not really, it can fixed in various way. In my case i was able to fix it, just by disabling all my magisk modules.
4)Of course, the idea is to be mimic a Pixel phone
5)That´s something you change in photos settings. So not really a con
6)How it is a "con". Treble will help us to get new version of Android faster but that´s when NEW version of Android roll out like P. At this point, Trebel is a nice thing to test and see how the GSI behave

Well I'm talking about my experience about the rom you didn't have to panic tho i know some bugs are not there on some phones but i know alot of ppl had the same bugs
Also I'm not an idiot i know you can't change the setting in the photo app on PE
I didn't write treble i wrote "no treble" which means that it's bad it doesn't have treble yet
Next time read stuff carefully
Btw I'm happy about your reply so ppl know that it's possible to get your solid experience on PE which I couldn't by doing everything possible. Peace

To me all the same but with popkern kernel r27c schedutil governor improved active battery usage and deep sleep works so idle drain is almost zero overnight (Systemless xposed for greenify, amplify and naptime).
Also I was waiting for things to get stable enough to update to oreo but there was another thing that made me stay in nougat: a working dolby atmos + viper4android setup. That oreo atmos port from axon 7 wasn't to my taste - I like classic atmos' virtualizer and volume leveler ratios - but finally have found a port that works in DotOS 2.1. For viper, the first one in magisk repo works well.
From 100% to 30% with a lot of flashing mods, getting stuck in mi logo then restoring system+vendor backups from twrp (yes I'm pretty quick when I'm impatient) in first 1 hour, in total more than 7 hours of SOT and 2 hours idle and battery didn't even go higher than 37°C. Quickcharge works (3A) and also it doesn't heat too.
That dolby oreo zip (not a magisk module):
Any more ROM reviews?
I'm currently looking for AOSP-based ROM that drain moderately slow during usage and have no WiFi battery drain problem.
im currently on xiaomieu but idk which miui rom is best does anyone have any recommendations (preferably with ota updates)? Thanks in advance

To be honest I've switched back to 0401 dotOS the next day I've wrote that comment because there were some wakelock issues with the popkern. And dot (0401) has gcam fix to its date so it's working out of box (after enabling camera2 api). And I've also tried a few (oreo compatible they say) dolby atmos ports but in the end I gave up because it's not the same atmos like the older versions. I like it's virtualizer and volume leveler (it does increase volume levels dynamically for different frequencies so I could use viper to decrease them all while dolby was on, so the hissing sounds would be gone. Like a noise gate you know). But again the oreo version isn't the same and not to my taste.
Finally I've ended up tweaking with viper, adding some reverb etc and also the viper devs seem like they wanted to have a leveler like dolby atmos (old) so they've added more controllability to the playback gain control. Plus enabled the viper ddc so I've got a profile like my old viper+atmos setup.

Have you lost any functionality when switching to a custom ROM? (i.e. Lineage)

Hello,
I want to start by excusing myself for asking such a question. Probably some will tell me to just start trying ROM's. To those I would say that I don't want to spend days trying different ROM's when others have the answers already.
I like to customize my phone and I was very happy with my setup (OxygenOS, Magisk, Xposed, GravityBox, Flat Style Bar Indicators) until my several apps (including banking) started disliking Xposed. So now I am only left with OxygenOS, Magisk and a very limited number of customizations. This made me think about the possibility of getting back in the game of using a custom ROM, most probably LineageOS, which I used and liked for many years on my previous phones.
As I was saying, I don't want to waste too much time blindly trying a custom ROM a day, but ask you guys:
Did you feel that when you've switched to a custom ROM you missed something from Oxygen OS? Did you find any functionality that was only working well or correctly in OxygenOS?
I am asking this knowing that for example with smartphones from other OEM's the camera might give worse shots with custom ROM's.
Thanks!
Just have a look at rom video review thread and the thread for similar questions I mentioned both here https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/help/rom-using-t3791697/post76543724
VoLTE and WiFi Calling support is probably better on OOS right now. Custom ROMs on some devices are behind the curve on this.
you'll loose oos camera .. not a big deal specially if u use gcam but still i feel like stock cam is more reliable
Yes, 3gb of ram seems to be the limit on any lineage or aosp rom. Even with a build prop edit of more background tasks and light oom killing or none and keeping ram management light my phone would refuse to hold background apps past about 8-10 no matter how many fresh installs or updates the rom went through.

MI Max Review - Best, Most stable and Highly customizable Custom ROM so far!!

Hi Mi Max'ers.
My name is Addy and I have been using Xiaomi MI Max [Hydrogen] for 2 years now. I do a lot of customization because being simple is boring .
I liked MIUI till MIUI 8 Nougat (Global ROM). After that there was not much improvement in MIUI ROMs and I could not customize much in the new MIUI 9 and 10 ROMs.
I mostly like system-wide black theme and black theme for all the apps.
So, I came to custom ROMs. I flash ROMs like crazy just to find the perfect one that fulfills my level of customization.
I found AEX [7.1.2] (AOSP Extended). It was good for about 5 months. Then I was having lot of issues one over the other.
One of the major problem was... All the widgets were getting disappeared when I turn on my phone after my phone shutdowns when the battery is dead. No matter what I tried, the problem did not solve. I'll have to restore my 10GB of Nandroid backup everytime it happened.
So I started to search for a new ROM. I wanted to go the the latest releases like Android PIE.
I tried almost a dozen of Android PIE ROMs. Unfortunately, all the ROMs that I have tried had one problem in common.
But exactly the camera and flashlight did not work. Many user were reporting this issue and some said the the camera would work after some time after reboot or it might work after few reboots. It was highly uncertain.
Since I love taking pictures, then I thought I have no choice and I have to go to MIUI again to the latest release (even though I experienced MIUI 10 is full of Bull crap.)
But I saw that Latest MIUI 10 global is still running on Android Nougat. So, I decided to go for Nougat based custom ROMs.
Now I ended up with final version of Resurrection Remix [7.1.2].
In my opinion, this ROM is by far the best and most customizable ROM that fulfilled me. So I am sharing my review on that.
For now I have installed around 85 user apps + Google apps micro package + Magisk and Xposed Modules.

Battery : ~8 hours of SOT
I think 8 hours SOT for a 2 year old phone is more than expected I guess considering my torture of my MI Max in the past with all the games in the past
I stopped playing games these days since I had to concentrate on my studies. So, I mostly watch youtube videos and listen to music. I hardly use any social media because it if filled with nothing but full of fake stuffs and promotional ads these days.
Camera: Best on so far - MIUI modded camera
I flashed MIUI modded camera so that I can use my favorite Camera and make fruitful memories:victory:.
I did not take good pictures recently. So, I have attached a HDR picture that I have taken few months ago when I was using MIUI camera.
I tried a lot of modded Google camera apks for features like night sight, HDR+, Portrait mode etc. But I got tired of searching/installing/uninstalling. So I think I will enjoy those features when I get a new phone instead of being greedy.
If anyone has working Google camera MOD for MI Max Hydrogen Nougat based ROM, kindly let me know in the discussion.

I did not tewak GPU settings.
I have only Double tap to wake setting turned on.
Memory Usage:
At first only when I installed only the ROM, without Masigk or GAPPS... Astonishingly, the total free RAM was ~1900 MB!
After setting up all my apps customizations, now the free RAM after clearing recents is around ~ 1200 MB!
I know the unused RAM is wasted RAM. But in previous ROMs, I used to have only 500 MB of RAM or so as free RAM. So it was nearly impossible for me to multi-task.
I am really surprised with the RAM management in this ROM!
But, I still have some apps freezed in Titanium backup + I hibernate some user apps in greenify.
Customization and MODs:
I utilized almost all the features the configurations option in RR ROM settings. My favorites are:
- Recents and Notification panel blurs.
- Customized lockscreen using "Lock screen wigdets [L-M]" xposed module.
- disabling quicktiles (GravitiyBox) and power menu in Lockscreen (This is a major securty issue for me in MIUI ROM. They removed the option to disable these from marshmallow! Now, It is much easier for the thief to steal the phone and switch off/ turn to silent mode!)
- I totally disable mods of the ads in my phone. I use adaway + "MinMinGuard" xposed module for systemwide ad blocking and I use Mozilla firefox with uBolck Origin addon to block ads in browser.
-and other bunch of stuffs.
One thing I was not satisfied after switching from AEX is the quality of VIPER4ANDROID soundmod.
I installed the same module. but somehow I could feel the different effect. I will have to adapt to this I guess.
I have shared the screenshots so that you can see it for yourselves .
Thanks for Reading.
Feel free to share your opinions/mods/etc.. So, that we can use our MI Max to the most fullest way possible
Thank you very much for sharing your experience, that was very helpful.

Hi there, i got question regarding this rom, after i flash this rr rom from lineageos 16, my internet h+ - lte display but no data or connection. but my phone line is ok. anyway to troubleshoot this problem. right now im only using my wifi only as my data cannot be use. thx

Stock camera modification

Question guys. Possibly brought up months ago, idr. Im on CPT right now.
Thats Coronavirus People Time
Not....not the other one.
Anyway back when, i remember adjusting some build.props in busybox to where stock camera utilised all 3 rear lenses simultaneously. It looked great. This was regular photo mode and whatever reason cleared up that red/dark tint plenty people had with ultra wide nightscape in particular. I got ahold of a more recent kali linux for personal reasons unrelated but it came with apktool. Curious if anyone has experience with this at all as im not the biggest gcam fan (it is what it is, chill) for a couple reasons but the biggest being long exposure. For example stock camera at 30 seconds will collect light and data before the shutter click whereas gcam does the shutter click first, followed by collection. So unless i got starcam mod (that worked) my night sky photos would be entirely too dark. No i dont want to excessively up the iso and wait forever for processing. A nice 30 seconds and 320 with farthest focus works awesome on stock followed by minimal lightroom adjustments. Point is i DO want to use either superwide or the combo that i mentioned earlier in pro mode. Inb4 search forums, i honestly dont have the time so if already mentioned in a way, a link would be appreciated. Any other advice with anything else like buildprops or what latest apk is that works with this device would be awesome. If anyone has modded a newer UI to work for this, id like to know as well if possible. Thanks frens
If you are unable to simply google what you are looking for, & you know what terms to use since you seem like a photographer:
Then you'll have to probably make this. I hate the stock camera apps and all the google play store stuff too.
I just wish we could have a Canon quality camera on a phone and PC webcam.
Is it really that hard ???
Good luck. I hope you get into programming and I get to use your camera app!
Im not, just been a while since messing with anything. Had bookmarks etc from hours and hours of searching where to find the files to edit (using the phone, rooted magisk) various strings and found some stuff thatd work some that wouldnt and crash the app but its like
All im saying is for example with gcam (and others)
You can have exposure time of 60 seconds where op stock is limited to 30. So its not a hardware thing rooted or not. Definitely software. Apkstudio is basically above but gui. I know some people find things easier unix/linux related (like android) to do from linux in the first place instead of cross platform. Some things are just easier. Wasnt really sure how active anyone is on this device anymore. An easier goal would really just be getting the newer UI, pre android 11 betas, to work but idk nothing about that either. And if i did this shutdown stuff past 6 months really got everything throwed off.

Request for Samsung Nougat ROM port for P905

Request one of our many gracious and wonderful developers to port a Samsung Nougat ROM for our beloved P905. I understand that porting a One UI based ROM would be very tough because of the deep changes. I hope porting a Nougat ROM from one of the many Samsung Nougat tablets would be a tad more do-able.
I once again acknowledge that our developers have their own lives to lead and priorities in life and are doing us a favor by spending their valuable time to develop ports and Lineage OS based latest android builds for our aging dinosaur.
A Samsung Nougat based ROM would be wonderful for the P905.

Hi Chudu.
What are the Samsung specific features that you're looking for when it comes to One UI or Touchwiz?
Hi shardsx,
By Samsung specific features, I mean mainly the Samsung Touchwiz/Grace UI and the myriad of settings and customization features unique to Samsung firmware.
And as a possible bonus, if the ported ROM is from another S-pen supported tablet/phone, then the included S-pen features would be the icing on the cake.
Developers like Valeria1978 have developed Lineage0S for this aging tablet based on Android 10 and it feels so much lighter on the resources. But inevitably, I find myself going back to the Note 7 ported ROM because I miss the stock Samsung firmware look and features.

Unfortunately it appears that the best path forward is to go with the Lineage OS builds from Valera1978. There hasn't been any other developers taking up the mantle with the P905, so we're only here at Android 10 by the good graces of Valera and his work. This is why I was curious to see if there was something specific to Touchwiz ROMs that appeal to you which could be mimicked in software but allow you to continue using the latest Lineage builds. For example, there's online praise of SPenCommand which is a 3rd party app (outside of Google Play) that recreates TouchWiz's S-Pen functionality for Lineage and AOSP ROMs, (note that I haven't personally purchased or used this software). LectureNotes, which I do use, is a very good note-taking alternative to S-Notes.
Since knowledge emerged on how to fix the S-Pen palm rejection that has been broken since Lineage 15.1, Lineage 17.1 has been my daily driver and working pretty well. I would have liked to stick to Lineage 16.1 as I find it more stable and polished than 17.1 but I cannot get a successful compile of Valera's 16.1 ROM to boot on my tablet.
If anyone can figure that out, I can probably provide a Lineage 16.1 build that:
- enables S-Pen palm rejection
- enables Bluetooth pairing of PS4 DualShock4 controller without the associated nasty input lag
I fully agree with you. I have not tried the Spencommand software, but now that you have mentioned it, I will try to find it and use it.
Apart from the comparative lack of customizability, there are 3 reasons which I find irksome about the 17.1 build.
First is the rotation bug. After a while, the tablet simply gets stuck in portrait mode and only a reboot gets the landscape mode working again.
Secondly, I need to swipe at least 3 or 4 times in order to pull down the quick settings and notification shade and it is extremely slow while it opens out.
Thirdly, I use my P905 a lot for making calls and in spite of trying everything, I'm unable to hear the voice of the person on the other line when on voice calls. I'm forced to use a Bluetooth speaker which is not always convenient.

The telephony aspect of this tablet is something that I am unable to provide any alternatives. My carrier appears to be incompatible with my tablet so I never looked into this at all.
In terms of the rotation bug, I use an app called Ultimate Rotation Control and manually rotate using its Notification widget. This bug exists with all versions of Lineage OS and this was the only workaround I've found which consistently works.
For the notification shade, this is one area that I think Lineage 16.1 offers a smoother experience. I found that certain apps like Youtube, TunedIn Radio, or any apps that utilizes a background image for its notification card will cause the notification shade to lag. Once an affecting app generates a notification card that causes the stuttering behavior, there's no way to recover other than to reboot. Even if the affecting app is closed, the notification shade continues to be slow and stuttery. The only workaround I've found is to disable all notifications for the affecting apps and then reboot.
In terms of quickly pulling down the notification shade with everything expanded in one go, there is an option in Lineage OS in the Settings app, under System > Status Bar -> Quick Pulldown. Enabling this option will allow a single swipe from the status bar to display a fully expanded notification shade with all the toggles and cards expanded.
I know the biggest problem for you is the telephony and call volume. Unfortunately nothing I have said is going to help with that. I hope perhaps Valera or a new developer may be able to help you. At least I hope my words would help anyone else with similar problems who happens to stumble upon this post.
Lastly, I'd like to share that to get the experience of a fullsize keyboard similar to Touchwiz, Hacker's Keyboard is probably as close as you can get with so little developers producing keyboards that are appropriate for tablets of this size.
Thank you so much for all this information. I will definitely try out the spencommand apk and hacker's keyboard.

Hi Chudu,
I'm afraid to report bad news. I tried SPenCommand downloaded from the developer's page but it doesn't seem to launch on my device using Lineage OS 17.1. If you are going to try and switch ROMs to try this software, please be aware of this potential snag.
Hi shardsx,
Can you provide me a link to the download page? I'll try it out on my weekly off and see if I'm able to launch it.

The developer of this app is called @emandt. He had a thread about this app here at XDA.
His website is http://www.emandt.net/Android/SPenCommand/Website/. On this page you can find the download links. This is a paid app hosted outside the Google Store and relies on an in-app purchase to unlock. As I mentioned, this app seems to instantaneously close on me so it seems to do nothing. The author seems to have last updated this app to support Android Oreo or Lineage 15.
