It's visible in Firmware Finder app, for Lx9-C10 variant.
As I have a L09-C432, I can't say if it is approved for installation.
We can see it's on his way, let's just be patient

I'm the author of the tweet. I got the info on XDA (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76985447&postcount=532) and if you want, you can check too on Firmware Finder for it.
This is for Russian one for info.

It's the Russian model, ma boi. But probably the EU update drops in a few days.

What's different between Russian version and EU? Its a problem to flash it on c432 model?

You can't download it with the normal way. You need to use the RedLotus way to flash this Russian ROM, because the Huawei phones are region locked by default. But if you unlock the bootloader, install the modified stock recovery with all of the identification removed to install any EMUI ROMs as you please and use the RedLotus method, you can use this ROM on your EU Honor 8.

Doesn't that affect anything in the phone? I'm using a L09C432 EMUI fw atm. Isn't C432 different from C10?

I think it isn't simple as you said. I think you could break something flashing these thing without rebrand from L09C432 to L09C10

Actually, we do have the resources necessary for rebranding to C10
Stock firmware files:
FRD-L09C10B130 - http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1276/g104/v64086/f1/full/update.zip

Use MultiTool 7.1 to create the rebrand zip and flash it from TWRP
Rebranded my single-sim Indian variant to L09C10 yesterday and updated to Oreo. Everything works well. Seems a lot like a work-in-progress build. I am sure things will get better with the upcoming builds

Build is pretty stable. No slowdowns or force closes yet. Still testing it. Haven't run the benchmark tests yet. Battery life seems to have improved a bit. I am getting good SOT figures

Honor 8 Oreo included Huawei Histen (equalizer from new EMUI phones)? Or no differences on audio?

I'm not sure what they call it, but it does have the "Headset DTS mode" option which definitely improves the audio quality. However, no equalizer in the Settings or Music app though

I'm afraid it doesn't work like that. To begin with, if you are not on C10 model, you need to rebrand your device first, update to Nougat, unlock bootloader, root and then update to Oreo using ADB method or RedLotus method. All the necessary guides and resources are available in the forum

Headset DTS is nothing new, was available even in 6.0.

Better wait guys

Not showing on firmware finder for my FRD-LO9C432. But this is great news, should hopefully come to my device in the near future So fricking excited!

Unable to debrand Huawei Nova

Hi everybody,
this is my first post so please forgive any "incorrect habit" might come out of this post.
My situation is the following: I bought a Huawei Nova smartphone about a week ago. It comes with Vodafone brand and the complete build model is CAN-L01C02B130CUSTC02D014.
I read lots of forum posts and blogs over the web and what I learned is that:
- L01 means single sim;
- C02 means that is branded Vodafone;
- B130 is the firmware version;
- CUSTC02D014 is the custom build with the debug version.
I want to debrand my smartphone (without unlocking or rooting it, if possible) so I downloaded FirmwareFinder and, from there, I fetched every firmware compatible with CAN-L01 following to my build model (made on 2016-09-14). Unfortunately, I was not able to install any of those firmwares (very strange).
Given the above-mentioned information, here are my questions:
1 - is it possible to debrand my smartphone without unlocking and rooting?
2 - is it really possible that every firmware made after mine (on 2016-09-14) failed to install?
3 - how can I pick a compatible firmware?
4 - someone wrote that before installing a more recent firmware, one must debrand by downgrading and then (only then) update the firmware itself. Is it true?
Thank you very much,
Valerio
Hi there,
I will move your thread in the correct forum dedicated to Huawei Nova/Nova Plus Questions & Answers for more relevant answers.

I think that is better not to install it using the three button method. If you going to do it, at least have a nandroid backup, assuming you unlocked your bootloader and installed the twrp.
One other way to try, requires a unlocked bootloader too, huawei extract tool and then flash system.img and boot.img at least.
I linked the source, but Idk if it is going to work and requeries courage to do this :/
Edit: sadly, wait for the official upgrad is the most safer thing to do right now

I can tell for sure, but from the changelogs I read, it seems it is a test build or something like that. I could open it with dsixda and will try to flash as soon I unlock the bootloader but I'm waiting to get the code.

Thank you so much for the link! I think it should go flawlessly as long as it is compatible with CAN-L01 (and it actually is). The only thing that stops is that it is a test build...maybe I'll wait the official release too.

Nova Plus MLA.....

Is it possible, to open a thread for the Nova Plus MLA-LXX only?
Root, firmwareupdates , etc.
i think its a good idea...im in canada /rogers with mla-l03...and not much here for our version
Not rooted ( yet ) but got the unlock code, me too
have the code, yet not used, all my other mobiles ihave rooted
Like i said...our device is a one pretty young...birth in september so...theres no rush to "enter the dragon"
But very anxious to try nouEmui
i have tried the unlock code, and it works, but i have relocked it.....
I've the MLA-L11 too. would be awsome to have a working TWRP , no use in getting bt unlocked
unless there is a custom recovery. I'd say we find a dev and donate enough to persuade him to work
on a twrp !

Hi, where is the android 7.0 for us, I hate Huawei when they are late on softwares....! I'm having a problem to use youtube over the phone network with my Nova Plus.
Thanks
guys the MLA varients work with xelfmade's TWRP recovery and roms can be unified to work on all varients
Ota upgrade made with my MLA-L03 to Nougat yesterday and all working great! Used FF to push the update via proxy and changed from C654B140 to C578B302 with stock updated app. Best I've like the phone yet!! Big improvement in every aspect so far.
Buddy,
for us using the MLA-L03 can you explain in details how you did that ? Been waiting for ages to get that OTA update that never comes lol
Thanks in advance

You can try this to update to Nougat: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G79/g0/v73849/f1/full/update.zip Extract all the files and place them in a dload folder then place that on the root of your SD Card and install it using the three button method. If your Build Number is not showing up correctly after installing that install this: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...-L11_hw_eu/update_data_full_MLA-L11_hw_eu.zip using the same method as before. If it does not work the first time you may need to flash the stock EMUI 5 Nougat recovery which will let you install Nougat updates, I had to do this for the CAN-L01C432 variant as the update kept stopping at around 40%. EMUI 5 Nougat Recovery: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4T1GJ6EZ3LvTWNpZ0p5YXVINGs It is up to you to try it and I am not trying to make you as I do not have a MLA variant so I do not know if it will work or not. I hope this this helps.

Yes, understand, which build is it and is there no problem to get the official one when i had install it?
If it doesn`t work how to get back to notmal firmware?
I have all my devices rooted , but this one not, there are to less informations about my build, therefore i have no twrp installed.
Im careful, my last device was honor 7, and i have no problem with twrp and root, but more informations.
Download is very slow.
Do you have made the update to nougat, and does it run without bugs?

Any chance to include the PD version in this list?
Anyways, it's depressing to see they are developing indeed, but they are struggling so hard at keeping a decent official release pace. I mean, pretty much everything is unauthenticated, or if it is it still takes ages to become available. If it wasn't for Firmware Finder, I'd still be stuck at a 4 months old firmware on my PD, without 10x zoom, all the camera tweaks which were applied later and so on, how can this be possible?!

Ok, added it.
Actually, Huawei is very active with development, but not active with public releases/authentication. Basically, the rollout cycle is:
Build, upload for internal use (usually day after build), upload publicly, release to some devices, release to all devices.
With the Porsche Design Mate 9, they actually had a build 156, but they never ended up uploading it or releasing it publicly, and just jumped to 174, then 180, without publicly releasing them. It is strange, indeed, but the Porsche tends to get updates fast enough, internally, at least. I feel most sorry for the LON-L29C432 users, really, because they seem to get the updates last.

Of course there are benefits, but it's impossible to know exactly what they are. I know the kernel is newly built and the security patches are more recent. Otherwise, seems to be mainly power management/performance-related, but the changelogs are so vague, so it's up to fate whether or not you feel an actual substantial change. Not many people have tried it at this point.
If you want the files, just use HiSuite to try and install the update. The files will be downloaded to your Documents\HiSuite folder. If you're rooted, it's possible the HiSuite update might fail, but you'll get the files.

Never mind. I thought you were using a service not available to the general public, if that makes any sense. If not, there's no way to install B180, anyway, as it's not on Huawei's public servers, and is not being authenticated by Huawei.

C636B180 was uploaded yesterday.
You can't take the version numbers as an indication of newer or older, unfortunately.

Do you notice any difference with battery drain?
Using Firmware Finder I found newer ROMs than my current 158. What's the difference between FullOTA-MF and OTA-MF? I know one is huge but which do i download to upgrade please?
I am thinking to upgrade to 172 as 180 has no FullOTA file.
And which one is best to download of the three? It's very confusing. I did all this fine on my Mate 8 but now i forget. Thanks.

Firmware Finder will only work on older releases which are signed by Huawei. When a new release is found, Huawei won't be signing it for your device for a few weeks in most cases. You'll have to use a different method if you want to install 180.

Ota vky-l09c432

Which is the last official OTA checking from update system for this model VKY-L09C432?
I have had only the OTA 123. But I see with ff also 125 and 130 but not from system update.
Thanks
Updates seem to be pushed by location. If youre outside of the intended c432 area, you might be waiting awhile. You could try VPN, or there is always funky Huawei

Which region / location are you in?
Just Unboxed my unbranded P10+ , and out of the box its on 120.. but no b130 OTA.. ... Im in UK, which is c432 region.. but as Goranock pointed out.. Huawei do OTA via location..
You could try downloadiong Huawei's HiSuite and trying an update
Im a little cautious about manually flashing Hauwei roms... I used to have a P9, but flashing a stock C432 Rom on a stock C432 device changed it to a C900.. which renders it useless to Stock OTAs and Android Pay.. according to some XDA modders.. the C900 on the P9 was a test / safe mode rom.. not a consumer rom,, so be careful .. although I cant say what the P10+ would do, but Im net messing with any Hauwei roms.. Ive even read of folk flashing a stock rom.. and bricking their P9.... just a word of caution
Hope UK gets it soon
I am a bit puzzled that the updates are not more of an issue here. I think it's really annoying that currently there seem to be no other ways for manually initiating the update than to use (the way too expensive) funkyhuawei or to unlock bootloader. Did anyone manage to successfully initiate an update by using a VPN and if so what location do I use to do so?

Yes, thank you, I know about that way though but the thing is I dont want to even have to unlock the bootloader in the first place, even if it ends up being locked/relocked afterwards. Personally that's just too much of a hassle just to install updates in my book. But since you said you are from Italy and you obviously already have received the update I'm gonna try and use an Italian VPN to try and see if I can at least upgrade to B123 then. Even though I feel that's a bit ridiculous now that not only B130 but also B133 seems to be out already. By the speed they are distributing their updates OTA I'm probably not gonna till B133 by autumn or something...
Edit: nope, tried several European countries, obviously VPN doesn't help...
Just wondering : what's the changelog for B133 ?
Pretty new to Huawei's firmware here... on the russian FF site I don't see it.

That depends on what variant you have, the official Oreo is out for the AL00, C636, and C432 regions, it's not out for the rest of us yet. You can rebrand to a C432 variant and install the European version (C432), or one of the others. Otherwise you'll have to wait on the official version to come out for your region
I am in Europe (Greece) L29 C432 B198 and Oreo is not available yet..........

Use FF to update. It doesn't need any rooting, unlocking and so on.

Btw.. I noticed that.. After upgraded my mate 9 to oreo through OTA... There's something missing.
1: Vulkan api no longer supported.
Performance issues.
1: 3D mark scores with Oreo are worse than Nougat.
2: 2k and 4k downloaded videos and movies, lagging and stuttering while playing.. Especially with 60fps ( idk.. Perhaps 3rd app not optimised for oreo)
And i didn't face any of this problem with Nougat.
Btw.. I love the EMUI 8..
There isn't an Oreo update on FF for C432 or C636

You should have added a model (MHA-L29) in FF. Usually you will find your model in parentheses; MHA-L29 8.0.0.361 (C636), for example. You'd better check firmware access before any updating or downgrading.
Yes, after upgraded to emui8, i found my mate 9 is terribly hang and lots of the apps crashed or spent more than 3mins just for ran it.
The interface is nice but the phone is too slow or taken too much of time to load.

Had the same and was steadily getting worse. Had emails not displaying, apps not opening etc.... Few days ago i wiped data and factory reset and so far its blisteringly fast once more and zero issues. Probably worth doing that for you.

Thanks, I wonder why they changed the naming convention.
My OTA update came in yesterday. Several important (to me) apps stopped working. I need to go back.
I'm not experienced with Huawei methods, so I need some pretty specific instructions to go back on US version. If anyone can point me to that it would be appreciated.
I am tempted to wipe and reload apps, but I have so much setup to do with that, I hate to take that time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the two main apps I want working and they just won't work.
