LG-G6 H870 Not Receiving Any Updates at All - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Hi,
My LG-G6 isn't receiving any updates at all. I am still at Android security patch of march 1, 2017.
Is it normal?
These are some of my phones info:
Kernal: 3.18.31
Build Number: NRD90U
Software version: V10b-OPT1-HQ
Hardware Version: Rev.1.0
I guess my phones region is EU.

Software version and security patch level?
Oh i just noticed your signature. At least your software version is V11i-234-30. Mines still stuck at v10b.

Have you checked LG Bridge?
I'm also on a H870 in the UK. Been running Oreo, April 2018 security patch, for the last month or 2. Got almost all of my 4 updates so far using Bridge.

Tried LG Bridge kept getting same return "your current version of software is up to date"
EE are notorious for late updates but this is ridiculous, currently using a Nokia 7 plus until EE do the right thing, but having been using O 8,1 since I got the Nokia I find Nougat cumbersome.

No, just stock from day I received it.

Last security patch I received from EE was 1 January 2018, and it is now nearly the end of June.

Nope. Totally stock and nothing has been changed.

I also am on January security update with stock at&t version NO sign of an update as of yet though I read that at&t is currently updating the G6 to Oreo. Nothing here yet, Soon it will be a year that Oreo was released this is poor for both LG and at&t with a so called flagship phone that I paid top dollar for.

Got my G6 today and several large updates were applied to Nougat and the last one, around 1800
MB iirc, was an update to Oreo.
All running well and the whole process worked without issue.
Using GiffGaff in the UK.

This is the G6 thread.

You sure that's Oreo? Pretty sure the 2015 G4 won't ever receive it.

Oops. I had meant to write G6. I bought it as a refurb from ebay.
I'll correct that now. Thanks.

why not just download open EU .kdz (Oreo) and flash it? I flashed using LGUP and Uppercut, took 5 minutes, I'm not rooted either.

Corrected now, well spotted.
I remember exchanging posts with you several years ago in a forum / thread where we shared the same tablet, an Advent Vega. At the time we were using a custom made ROM.
More processing poser in these phones now...!!!!

Isn't the Nokia 7 plus the better phone? What does the G6 do better?

Different chipset, Qualcom MSN8996 Snapdragon 821 Quad core Kyro @ 2x2.35 & 2x1.6 w/Adreno 530 which was last year's LG flagship, against what is considered a mid-range phone. Not sure if it is really any better except maybe the Cameras but that is not really the point, I am on contract with EE and I expect them to keep me up to date. Last security patch was Jan

On v11i-234-30 here with last security update (Jan 2018) received after I bought this in March as a refurb.
Was quite positive when I heard LG were setting up the update unit but with hindsight feel that's probably targeted at the G7 and onwards.
Will probably see if it drops this month before downloading the Oreo update ref'd above, but it's frustrating. Seem to recall the G4 and G5 got pretty quick updates.

The Brazilian version comes with earphones and usb charger adapter but truth is, we pay a lot more for those "extra" items.

Same here, Dec 9th.
I believe the US version has always been December 9th. I ordered the first day it was available (November 26th) and it said December 9th even then. It's always only been the Global version that was shipping on December 2nd, not both. None of the news sites ever seemed to report this distinction though.

Yeah, I believe Motorola wised up to the fact that they were going to miss black friday and basically the whole gift giving season in the US under their original plan which was to release in early January. That was the first thing I wondered about when the Moto g announcement came.
Here in Chile it's having a great success. One small department store has started to sell the 16GB version last week for US$188 (equivalent). Now it is becoming difficult to find it.

Yep. Also, there's no 8GB version in Chile. And we get a wall charger instead of a USB cable.
Enviado desde un Moto G.
Perhaps with its low price, excellent reviews and word of mouth the Moto G is going to be a game changer in the market. Looking forward to getting mine either tomorrow or Tuesday.
Saw it on the net that moto started shipping the international version on Nov. 30.

I ordered it on the 30th. Hope it ships earlier too.
In Canada, we only get the 8 GB version locked to Telus or Koodo; however, people have been scoring the phone outright for a cheap price as part of the BF deals.
Just bought one to replace my Gnex. If I don't like it, I will just get the Nexus 5 when its back in stock. I have been curious about this phone for its low price and good reviews.
My cousin and I both ordered a g. He ordered a International Version and me U.S. Version. His shipped yesterday and he said he'll have his tomorrow....
Still waiting for mine to be shipped..

It's Nov 22 according to BH.
$300 Wi-Fi
Finally I ordered one from newegg for $330 (BH keeps selling out).
I will test out whether the bootloader is unlocked or not.
If so, I need somebody to make TWRP for it.
Update: I received it and it's indeed a great tablet for the price.

G4 End of Life - End of June

Just received a price list from EE business stating the G4 will be no longer be sold from the end of June.
Anyone else know if other providers are stopping sale of the G4?
The end is nigh!

Fnac in Portugal isn't selling anymore. I bought it in another store with a 100€ discount. So I guess they are removing it from the market

EoL?
Don't say that! I have only had my G4 for about two weeks.
Just b/c a retailer stops selling a device doesn't mean it has reached EoL, it is only a year old, it will still receive Android N-it is a flagship.
Well lg g5 is out, so what did you expect. Still i hope that there will be update at least on android N..
G3 is older and it's still supported from LG...
Inviato dal mio Nexus 7 utilizzando Tapatalk
I am certain the G4 will get Android N but any major Android version after that will be questionable.
G2: JB->KK->L->EoL
G3: KK->L->M->EoL
G4: L->M->N->EoL
G5: You can work it out...
LG seem to be consistent when upgrading flagships, unlike some other OEMs e.g. Sony.

Tab S2 8" SnapDragon (T-719) EE UK - Will this be receiving an official Oreo update?

Tab S2 8" SnapDragon (T-719) EE UK - Will this be receiving an official Oreo update?
Hi all,
I'm about to purchase a T-719 4G version here in the UK for a really good price. I'm coming from a Tab S 8.4 which I've sold for a really good price.
My question is though, will the T-719 in the UK on the EE network be receiving an official Oreo update? If no, are other countries receiving it, or is the T-719 simply not receiving Oreo as an update?
Thanks

sammobile is not official at all
As the Tab S2 started life on Android 5, it's had 2 major OS updates already so it's not looking good. (I know the T-719 started on Android 6, but the 2015 started on 5.)
On the other hand, in 8" form, the S2 is still the top current Samsung Tablet, which gives it a faint chance.
For me, I'm not too concerned about 8 as my 2015 T-715 is running well. The last thing we want is our final update to be full of bugs that never get sorted.
As long as Samsung keep pumping out security updates I shall be happy. :victory:

Redmi Note 7(pro) Expected to be announced for europe tomorrow in madrid.

Looks like Xiaomi is getting aggressive with this product, its good to see, its about time the world sees them as a competitor, not just "another chinese phone maker"
I cant wait, i am in Canada, once they release a pro version with north american radio bands i will buy 2 of them, one for me and one for my son.
I assume that's when it'll be announced and not released?

i assume the same, however it seems xiaomi releases stuff not longer after the announcement so it shouldn't be much of a wait.
found an article that says it'll be available in spain at the end of the month, but online starting the 14th (no mention of the pro)
