I bricked my Samsung Galaxy Tab A p-355 - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

I'm new to rooting phones and stuff. So I tried to root my tab and followed a guide that told me to download Odin v3.11 and enable USB debugging in my tablet and I did. And as soon as I flashed twrp and tried to restart my tablet, the screen went blank. I tried opening it by holding the power its just blank. I tried plugging it in my computer and I think it recognizes the tablet because it makes the sound the computer makes when you plug a usb. But Odin won't recognize it.
Solved the problem.
Anyway as I said I want to root my phone but when going to twrp the screen is just blank. Any suggestions?

Hi all....
I've same problem too.
After try flash with Odin 3.11 and p355 firmware, after process clear, and Odin show "PASS", my phone turn off it self, and never come back again. Display just blank, so I can't go to download mode or recovery mode.
Try push power button for long time, still no respond. But if push many time home, vol down/up tab still shaking, but display just blank.
Any one here can help me how to solve my problem.
Note:
Tab is brand new, but has been lock for Prudential insurance.
Thanks.

Recovery img flashed to boot partition - hard or soft brick?

Hey guys, I have a samsung galaxy s7 edge SM-9350. I was able to get root access and get the TWRP app. I was attempting to flash the TWRP recovery image, but I accidentally flashed the to the boot partition instead of recovery. After rebooting, I cannot boot the phone. When I hold the power/volume up button I get the option to select recovery/fastboot/normal boot modes, but no matter which one I select, the phone doesn't seem to boot. Do I have any options? I'm not sure if this qualifies as a hard or soft brick.
I have also tried to go into download mode, by holding the power/home/volume down, but that just seems to enter a boot loop. The screen illuminates, but remains black for a while, then shuts down.
The furthest I get into any sort of developer/interaction with the phone is being able to select between Recovery, Fastboot, or Normal modes.
I'm looking for the general search terms to start with. I've rooted my nexus/htc devices before and soft bricked, but was always able to get back via Fastboot/Recovery. This is the first time I've not been able to get into either. Is there some method I can use via the micro SD card maybe?

Install PC SmartSwitch app and try the Emergency firmware recovery option
If that doesn't work then you may need a Samsung Repair centre

Ugg... I had installed Smart Switch, but it doesn't recognize that my phone is plugged into the PC.
It looks like in order for it to work my phone has to be in Download mode or Recovery mode, depending on what guide I read.
And I can't get into either mode at all
Thanks for the response!

I assume Odin doesnt recognise the phone in any situations?
That's correct. My windows PC with the Samsung drivers no longer recognizes that a device is plugged in. I just tried a USB jig. Pins 4 and 5 of the microusb joined with a 300k ohm resistor and it still doesn't go into download mode.

Sadly you probably need a samsung repair centre
Please let me know how you get on with a fix
Does Odin not recognise the phone when you put it in to download mode ?? i used Kies to recover the firmware rather than smartswitch although Kies tells you to use smartswitch it still let me use it to doe the firmware recovery.

S7 Edge stuck on samsung logo

Hello,
I have a problem with my samsung galaxy s7 edge. When I try to put it on the samsung logo appears for a second or two and then I see a black screen again, there is also written 'Kernel is not seandroid enforcing' in red letters in the left corner of the screen. Nothing seems to help, I don't know a lot of these android things, but I have been looking on the internet and i have tried a lot of things. First of all I've tried a hard reset (press and hold the power, volume up and home buttons), when I do this, I get the same screen as I put it on, but now there is 'Recovery is not seandroid enforcing' in the left corner instead of 'Kelner'.
Then, when I press and hold the power, volume down and home buttons and I click continue, my phone comes in download mode. I've seen a video about about a factory reset out of download mode so I thought there was still hope. The only problem is that I cannot connect my phone with my PC neither. My PC can't recognize my phone. I've tried to use different USB cables, I've installed USB Drivers on my PC, but nothing seems to help. I've tried to use ODIN, Smart Switch and Samsung kies, but they can't find my S7 Edge. There is also an option where you can enter the buildnumber and SN thing (idk) of your phone and I've tried that to. The only thing that happens is my phone who begins to charge and a sound on my PC that says that he is connected to a device, but he can't see him.
I really don't know what I have to do now, does somebody has a solution to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Marcin Jedrych
When did this issue start happening? Did you try to install something custom before this issue started?
If you can get into download mode, you can fix it. Try another PC with Odin. With the drivers installed and in download mode, Odin will pick it up. Once the phone is shown in Odin, flash stock.
I presume you have tried to root it or something, perhaps using a method for a different phone which explains why it won't boot. Or perhaps you have tried to flash TWRP?
.
Thanks, I'll try it with a different PC and yes I've rooted my phone to install xposed framework but this was like a year before this problem happend and I think I have unrooted my phone after.

Bricked S8s after software update.

Hi. Browsed for ages and always come here for answers.
Here's my problem.
2x S8s. SM-950f.
Updated to most recent software through software update. Both phones were glitchy and crashing and just generally irritating after.
Factory data reset etc. This did not resolve the problems, also led to one of them having issues with FRP (annoying)
Used Odin to try and flash the latest firmware (from sammobile, UK BTU) after flashing both, they reset and powered on. Got stuck at the S8 screen.
Restarted then both were at the "an error occurred during update" screen.
Managed to get back to download screen. Re checked the software and model numbers, even that the bootloader was the correct version etc. All was fine.
Connected to Odin, shows that it is connected, but nothing happens when clicking start.
Now after attempting that, both phones will not power on.
(One will when placed on the wireless charger, but just sticks at S8 screen) and download mode or reset screen can not be accessed. So, not exactly happy. And totally out of ideas
Any suggestions, beyond taking it to a shop to see if anyone can help.
yes .....dont tuch the phones for 24 hours let the battery die ...it will...connect to pc and then try download mode....u may need to press combination for like 1 minute to get to download mode....flash twrp reboot directly into it when odin says successfully .....wipe system data ....dont turn on phone download any custom rom flash and enjoy.....it will trip knox but worth than getting a new board....
Okay, will give that a try.
TWRP?
TWRP install
https://dl.twrp.me/dreamlte/twrp-3.2.3-0-dreamlte.img.tar.html: Download link for twrp SM-G950F (dreamlte)
Just said, wait until your device powers off due battery insufficience. Plug cable and hold at the same moment vol(down)+bixby+power. Then press vol(up) at the warning screen to proceed to odin mode. Let it charging a while like 1 h. Then unplug it and plug it to your pc. In Odin select ap the previous downloaded file. Take your mobile in your hand. With one hand, prepare your fingers to vol(up)+bixby and with the other hand start the flashibg process. Be careful, and take your hand directly from the mouse if you clicked start in odin, and position your one finger to power button, but dont click. If odin start pass, press immidiately the buttons (vol(up)+bixby+power) and let it to start into recovery. If you arrived to recovery, reply to us if not search for help!!!
Good luck
memreb
Still trying to get them on. Powered on to download mode but only for a couple of seconds and switched off again.
Can't get them to power on. Buggered

Not sure what stage your at and maybe some more useless ideas
1. Trying to flash twrp is kinda of useless if you can't get into your system need oem unlock for that.
2. Have you tried taking out Sim card and SD card and reboot.
3. If you can at least boot try smart switch as it has a emergency recovery option.
4. Trying rebooting in safe mode.
All been attempted

Odin flash failed, stuck in Emergency Recovery screen, cannot turn off.

I was going along ok until I made the fatal error of transferring the Magisk patched file to PC via MTP instead of taking the time to re-learn adb, which must have corrupted it. Thus predictably Odin hung and I am in trouble.
Where I am stuck is being unable to turn the phone off to come back in download mode to start over with stock firmware. I have been unable to find any secret button presses, and the battery doesn't seem to want to die leaving me with an $800 paperweight.
I did search around for this first and didn't find any real answers. Has anyone found an effective solution to this problem? Thanks.

Thank you, but the PC won't recognize the device. What does happen is the emergency recorevy screen tries to come up. I tried starting in download mode with bixby+vol down then USB. I did get the battery low enough where I don't get the teal screen of death anymore, perhaps it is too low for USB to work? What I was hoping for was the charging animation but no luck. Surely this is just a software problem and there is a way out.

Did you try getting into recovery and perform a data factory reset and then see what happens?
Just load the stock firmware BL, Ap, cp and home csc into Odin if you see emergency teal screen. The emergency screen will start loading
Black screen ....Perhaps your battery is dead?
Thank you all for the replies. I had let the battery get low in a misguided attempt (based on advice elsewhere) to get it to shut off. I had to let it charge a while for it to wake up enough for PC to see it. Then I was able to flash in Emergency Recovery mode.
Thank you for the help.

Glad you got your device up and running ?
Maybe someone can help me. I seemed to have borked my phone. I kept getting "Google is Stopping" with no way to fix it, so I tried reflashing my firmware in odin. After I loaded all the files and hit start, I realized I didn't untick auto reboot, so I tried aborting the installation and ended up with screen (I've had it before and got out of it by still flashing in Odin, but now, if I try to reflash firmware while in this screen, it's stuck on SYSTEM in odin.
Any help appreciated!
Try this
That is where I got stuck. Are you trying to flash stock or patched firmware? I had to start over with stock as I copied the patched via MTP instead of adb and it got corrupted.
I think what I did was unplug and reset Odin. Wait for screen to turn off, then make sure it is at least 80% charged. Then Bixby + Vol Down + plug in and you will go back to this screen. Then I was able to flash stock. I had to go so far as to re-lock bootloader and flash stock again since my "OEM Unlocking" was not just greyed out but missing. Since then I've had no time to try again, but at least I have a working phone.
This is my anecdotal procedure, can't say if it is the right or best one.
Hi All,
I was trying to flash the latest firmware for my device (G9750ZCU2ASG4) and during the odin process, my computer restarted which failed the update halfway through. I rebooted the computer, tried again, and it was trying to establish a connection for a really long time, so I disconnected my phone from the USB port on my computer, and held Power and Volume Down to try and force reboot the phone. I was going to try and go back into download mode to restart the process. My phone mentioned something about needing to do an emergency recovery, but I continued to hold down the power and volume down keys and then everything went black on the phone.
I've tried multiple USB cords, all of the button commands known for the device, and have even tried to perform the emergency mode recovery on my device, but it seems like it's in some sort of locked state; What I mean is the phone is stuck on a black screen. I can't "boot" into recovery or into download mode. The phone doesn't even vibrate when I hold the power button or power and down to try and force reboot it. Odin doesn't recognize the phone when I plug it into the computer nor does the device manager on my windows computer.
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of issue or any idea of what else I can do to try and get into download mode to flash my firmware again? All help, suggestions, or comments regarding this are much appreciated.
Sounds like the battery is dead
Hi Dude, I am struggling with the same problem, read this post and it came to me, had to come back and give you the solution.
Press bixby+volume down, IMMEDIATELY after the screen goes off, hold volume up and down while connecting the USB cable super fast.
You have got like 10ms to do it
Otherwise it just goes back to the AVB FAIL screen
Ran into this issue, none of the above worked for me.
This is how I resolved:
1) Placed phone on wireless charging mat and let it boot to emergency recovery screen
2) Load TWRP into AP slot of Odin and leave the window open on your computer ready to flash
3) Connect phone to computer whilst it's on the mat and press start in Odin as soon as your device appears
It may fail a few times but if your quick you can install TWRP.
4) Now boot into recovery and let your phone charge to a reasonable level (above 20%)
5) Boot into Download mode and flash your desired rim via Odin

Samsung sm-t580 infinity boot problem

I'm having this problem on my samsung tab sm-t580, it's in an infinite loop as you can see in the video. I can only enter donwload mode if I have the tablet connected to the computer and if I disconnect the cable the tablet shuts down, every time I tried to install twrp through odin it always gave me an error and I couldn't. Someone can help me?

Well it looks to me like you've destroyed your partitions or partition info, probably when trying to flash TWRP. It was probably for a different model. If you can get to download mode you have a chance. If you cant get to download mode:
Press and hold “Home + Power + Volume down” buttons for a few seconds until you see a warning screen.
Press Volume Up on the warning screen to accept it and boot into Download mode.
Also, I'd stop trying to flash TWRP. I think that's your problem. Since it seems you can get to download mode while connected to the computer, stay there and flash your stock ROM first. Be sure to use the Odin Re-Partition option since I believe your partitons are messed up (see the attached picture), it wont hurt anything as you're going to re-flash your OEM firmware. That should restore your booting to normal. Then, as I mentioned, find the correct TWRP, one that has been confirmed by more than one person to work with your T-580. Make sure that you can reboot several times to the stock ROM and then try get to recovery from the buttons or adp.
I am building some 30 pin JIGs that are designed to force download mode immediately after power is turned on. These are widely available, or used to be, for the micro USB port on other Samsung Android devices, but I haven't found any for the 30 pin connector so I am making my own. These will be available by the end of October 2021 on eBay once I confirm they are working as expected.
Good luck!
