Ok Google Bluetooth Calls Not Working - Android Head-Units

I searched but couldn't find much about it. When i received my PX5 Xtron unit, Ok Google would dial and call people, however the past few days it will no longer call someone.
It will load the Google as if it's going to call them, but it doesn't then open the bluetooth dialler and proceed.
Any fix?

OK Google has never called anyone for me, unless I used Mtcdialer? Perhaps OEM's have started putting that on their devices? Wouldn't surprise me.

Hmmmm, i did have 'ok google' switched on my phone, so unless it was allowing call actions through that whilst my phone was locked and then bluetoothing the call through. Coincidently, i switched ok google off on my mobile and it would be the same time that it appeared to not work on the head unit.

I'm not sure what's wrong, but my Xtrons headhunit responded to "OK google" sometimes intermittently and my phone is an iPhone so it probably wasn't because of your phone (unless you never properly got it work on you headhunt at all).
To get voice activation turned on I installed the "google assistant" app, but I suspect it does not reopen after a reboot causing the issue of only working sometimes. Also, if you open the bluetooth app on the headhunit it can take over the audio from the rest of the system. It's kind of confusing, so I'm not sure where the issue is.

It responds to 'OK Google', the issue is that it won't dial phone numbers anymore through it. If yours is intermittent, ensure that any music/ audio is turned down, as it won't pick it up on the mic.

I bought about 9 months ago, directly from Seicane a radio of 9 "android 8 PX5 for a Subaru Forester, the integration and the connectors are excellent but the radio had problems with the bluetooth handled by google and when connecting the cell phone via usb Easyconected, it did not recognize the cell phone, I asked for support but the solution from them was simple, and it was still the same, at the end I found a firmware of Hal9k, I installed to the radio and with this all these problems were solved, the link is "https: //forum.xda -developers.com/android-auto/mtcd-software-development/rom-hal9k-rom-3-mtcd-e-head-units-t3847477 ", check for your problem

Thank you for answer, i try to install this mod when i have a bit time, sure this work on atoto chipset?
Looking for a modified MTCDialer of my version too

nissan bluetooth handsfree woes

ever since my G1 updated from 1.1 to 1.5, it has not been compatible with my nissan handsfree bluetooth system. i waited until another update, and now that i have my nexus one and it still doesn't work, i'm a little disappointed.
i am able to pair my phone to the car, but when i make or receive a call the car speakers shut off (as they should) but the audio comes out of the phone. i don't even know about whether or not the other people can hear me.
is this a known android issue? it may even be a nissan issue, but i'm sure it can be fixed within android (seeing as how my g1 used to do this). i'm 99% sure there's no easy way to update the nissan bluetooth firmware to help this.
anyone experiencing the same thing and is there some fix out there or some effort?
Well, I don't have a android device or nissan hands-free, but I do use a Touch Pro 2 with my sync equipped ford. Anyway, I had a very similar issue, and I had to go into the bluetooth manager and change a setting that had it default to audio over the hands-free device, rather than some other thing... It has worked great ever since then. Oh, I also learned that I had to answer the call using only the car's answer buttons otherwise if I hit answer on the device it would again send the audio only to the phone's speakers. Of course that seems logical, but my phone prior to that would allow me to answer and speak through the hands-free with either method of answering the phone.
At least it's something to look into.
Also, the phone I had before the TP2 required that I update my sync software before it would work. However, it wouldn't even pair before the update, so I don't think that's your issue. I don't know what the procedure is for updating your nissan firmware, but sync simply involves downloading a system version checker to a usb drive, plugging it into the car, return to computer and download available updates, and then return to car to install updates. I would guess nissan would have a similar method?
I realize we're dealing with two completely different systems here, but I figured I would chime in anyway since I had a very similar situation.
My Acura handsfree works like a charm. Perhaps you have too many contacts that are syncing?
awee man... I was hoping that there were no nissan/infiniti bt issues w/ this phone
I'll find out Saturday when I finally pick it up from the fedex place

I also just got an N1 and my Nissan handsfee bluetooth lets me voice-dial but the call doesn't get routed through the handsfree system. I have to take the phone out of my pocket and activate the speakerphone. Any solution would be much appreciated.
I don't have teh same system. Like the previous poster I use the N1 with my Ford Sync. If a call is initiated from the phone it starts out in "private" mode using my phone's speakers. If initiated from the car it uses the car's sound system. There's also an option in there allowing you to choose the default sound output of calls. I have the latest firmware installed.
That actually makes sense.. my previous phone always used the speakers which was a bit of a shock sometimes when I was sat in a car park wanting to make a quick call. Clearly it still has some rough edges on some cars.

Bluetooth Cuts off In Car

I have a new issue, and need some ideas...
I have a Mazda 3 2014 with built in Infotainment system, and I can of course place calls from it over bluetooth. My Nexus 5 would dial, and as you expect the car remains connected and the audio and dialling occurs through the car system. With my Nexus 6P, the car talks to my phone, and then immediately cuts off the bluetooth, a bit like a failure to communicate, but the phone will then carry on calling, and only if I try to dial from my car, and if the person has answered does it then lock on and maintain the call via the car system.
I can not find anything in either settings to explain it.
So, anyone have any ideas crutually why the 6P fails me where the 5 worked.
I have the exact same issue. I have a Mazda CX-5.

Would be the same system if yours is the current model too. Guessing it was fine on your previous phone too?
Yes, I think so. It is a 2016, so it is the latest system I suppose. I had a Samsung Galaxy S5 previously and it worked perfectly. This is my first Nexus, so I thought it was a Nexus thing at first, however it is really annoying. It is hard to explain because the bluetooth kinda works, it just has this thing that it drops and picks up again...
Bluetooth working fine with my 2013 kia forte. Maybe something to do with Marshmallow and Mazda Bluetooth system?
Yea, it is kind of hard to explain. Only found out today, so not been able to test it over and over, but seems that unless the other person answers, you have no idea it is dialling. It is like it (Mazda system) is being told it an not carry on. I once had the same issue (Nexus 5) when there was another phone option and it was waiting for a default to be set on the phone before it dials. It did not do it today, but I wonder if I make sure it is set in settings as the default right....
... nope, only app for calls is the inbuilt.
It seems like some people are having similar issues? --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/help/bluetooth-phone-completely-borked-t3241196
I had the phone for a couple days and tried some things like upairing/re-pairing with no results. I discovered it when I called my wife, the call dropped (or the car did the call drop sound) but all of the sudden my wife answered. I tried calling different numbers and it's the same deal. I haven't tried receiving a call.

Reading this https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=189188 it seems clear it is Marshmallow on many devices and systems

Anyone else having bluetooth connection problems?

I've had my Z Force for about a week and a half. At first, everything was fine, but now, BT won't automatically connect to all of the trusted devices. It automatically connects to my BT speaker at work, but not the one at home or my Ford Sync.
I'd appreciate any thoughts.
Having an issue with it dropping the connection when paired with the LG Tone Platinum HBS-1100.
I have mine since Tues. Connected to 2014 Honda and Moto 360 and Moto sd 11 headphones. No issues I have noticed, especially in the car. It connects quicker and continues pandora quicker than any phone I have used previously with the car (LG G2, LG G3, Turbo 2). I will soon test with a Ford Sync 3 system, a vizio soundbar, and an ECOXGEAR speaker, and some ihome cheap headphones. Hopefully all goes well.
09 Ford with sync. Having issues as well. Don't have trusted devices set up because of the fingerprint reader, but I do have issues with automatically connecting, especially if I leave the source on Bluetooth audio when I turn the truck off. If I hit the phone button, it will usually reconnect. Don't have any issue with my moto 360 though.
I think it's a Ford sync problem. I have a 2015 fusion. Mine connects but it's delayed. Unfortunately the automotive radios are only designed for specific bt protocols. This is a problem with many car systems. My wife has the same problem with Dodge uconnect and the g5.

But mine worked fine for the first week or 2. It also is a problem with my BT speaker.
Bluetooth Connection
The same thing was happening in my Subaru, so I went into the voice settings of the moto actions app. Once there, choose "Talk to Me" and then touch more options. Once I selected the "audio troubleshooting" button, my car bluetooth problems went away instantly. Maybe something to try if you haven't?
Yeah Ford doesn't have any options like that.
So, the simple fix was to go empty the Bluetooth Share cache. Seems like a simple idea, but I had never needed to do this on any other phone.
I'd had mine a while and one day I noticed my BT wouldn't connect to my speaker at work. So I tested it on all my devices and my Bluetooth doesn't work at all. It will not find any device at all. Yes I've made sure they're all on sync, search, find, whatever the option is. I've cleared cache, tried to dig deeper to find that there are no legitimate settings or options menus, no way to troubleshoot the issue. I even thought an update would fix it as I thought it had updated just before I noticed it not working. Well it's updated again and nope. Still no Bluetooth. I've given up. And to beat all, no damn headphone jack so I gotta remember to carry around my adapter to use an aux cord.
On Bluetooth people can hear me but I cannot hear them.
I have had my Moto Z force for a while now, and all of the sudden when I connect to any Bluetooth device I cannot hear anything when it comes to phone calls. All media works, and people can hear me. I have factory reset the phone to see if this fixes it... But it did not work. Anyone else have an idea or experience this issue?
Hi, I have the same problem, suddenly after upgrading to nougat, I can not detect the wi fi and bluetooth.
Let me lower your stock:

I have the same problem too 3 days ago. It stopped working randomly. I was running Nougat with December security patch. Tried hard resetting and nothing. Now I updated to the January security patch and I still have the same problem, even after doing another hard reset. Could this be a kernel glitch or a driver issue? Bluetooth says it's on but it won't find any device and I can't pair any device to it. I hope Motorola is looking to fix this because I am from Europe and can't send the device to warranty in the US .

You can send it out, you just need a forwarding US address... You can do this if you do it with a middle-man https://www.shipito.com/ for example. might cost a little more for shipping, but it's an option that you have at least!

Thank you so much! I'll send it to warranty in the end. Moto is going to completely replace it. I'll have a Z Play to play around with meanwhile and then I'll see wich one of the 2 I'll keep.
My Moto Z has a similar issue. I got my first unit last summer and had to return/replace it because the charger melted to the phone (but that's another story). With my new phone, I constantly have trouble connecting to BT. I can almost always connect eventually, but it's NEVER on the first try. I usually have to toggle BT off and on, force stop BT, or restart my phone. So my Bluetooth isn't quite 100% useless, but it's a huge inconvenience any time I need to connect to anything.
Also fyi this is not related to the Ford issue--I'm connecting to headphones and speakers.
Bluetooth on G5
I can't connect to the handsfree on Mitsubishi Mirage
I'm having the same issue. All Bluetooth devices just quit. Headphones, Watch, Car adapter. Everything. I've reset my phone and nothing. Anyone had any success with any fix?
[Update] I think there may be something up because I mentioned it to the customer rep and they immediately said I need to send it in.

Trying to make a phone call from the head unit using google voice search through phon

I have a Volsmart Android 5.1 headunit I recently purchased. I can connect my android phone via blue tooth and use the touch screen dialer on the headunit to make a call without any issues. The issue comes if I try to use Google voice option on the headunit and say "Ok Google Call Henry". Henrys number pops up on the screen and it says calling Henry and I see the number on the page however it does not call. I am assuming the headunit is trying to use itself to make a call and not trying to go through the bluetooth connection to my phone and since the headunit itself does not have a sim card the call doesnt actually start. Anyone ever got this to work or know wht I should do to fix the issue?
i tried this before on my Joying and had the same end result as you posted. I think i read about a few people trying things on here, but I don't recall of anyone getting it done successfully.
there is a firmware for the tonghai create 2nd gen called "iq navi" that includes this feature by default. there is an intermediary app required called "bridge" or something other. It effectively links the phone's bt app with google now services of the HU.

Multiple issues after Upgrade to 8.0

Hi,
After upgrading to Android 8.0 on my H870 I'm encountering multiple issues.
Using my G6 with Ford Sync 2 or 3 keeps crashing Bluetooth. Meanwhile using Bluetooth with my Marshall Stockwell works absolutly fine. Unpairing and pairing again doesn't seem to work.
Also GPS in Google Maps only works for locating me, but when using it with Navigation my location keeps being stuck at my original position and doesn't move...
HERE also keeps being stuck with "Waiting for GPS".
Restarting the phone didn't help.
Does anyone have a solution to my problems? :crying:
Many thanks in advance
Solution:
After restarting my G6 about 3 to 4 times and disabling Call and Contact Access in the Bluetooth device settings and then restarting everything works fine now. (including GPS)
Update:
The problem is back again
Somewhat new solution:
By enabling the developer options my "Bluetooth AVRCP Version" was set to AVRCP 1.5, which isn't the default...
So by changing it to AVRCP 1.4 Bluetooth works fine now...
VS988 here: Everything seems mostly okay, except for the constant bluetooth crashes. Anybody else seeing that? Also, FWIW, not enjoying the system notifications. Trying to figure out how to turn those off.
Usual first fix after a major update is factory reset, did you try that yet?

I'm H870 EU user, no problems so far after oreo update (without factory reset), BT pairing works as it should...
GPS and navigation also works without bugs.
Just do a factory reset
I had frequent bluetooth crash notifications on nougat. On oreo bluetooth will not connect a2dp/avrcp beyond first pairing with my Pioneer car stereo ..still works fine on bt headsets that dont pull phonebook including my old basic sony car stereo.

If you're talking about persistant battery notification hold on it from notification panel..unfortunately it's all or none. Wish Google had the foresight to allow disable on a per app basis, but you know how wishes go...
I'm having the same problems with bluetooth. My headphones can connect, however after about 3 seconds they automatically disconnect for audio (though they somehow still connect to the phone, just not on audio).
My car still connects and works, however it does sound now like I am listening to a scratched CD (whereas both were working absolutely fine before the update). Haven't found anyone with a solution so far.
Verizon G6 VS988 here.
To respond to a couple of the suggestions here, I did a factory reset first because of bluetooth and battery problems. That didn't fix the problems. I just changed to AVRCP 1.4 Bluetooth and hopefully that fix works for bluetooth. I also have a Ford with Sync.
Something new ive noticed is if i place a call it puts up the audio output notification and everything works as normal. Having reset my phone and car both i can only say LG missed out on my next phone purchase even when running low on phone options.
How do u change to that ? Is it on the phone device settings cant seem to find out how
GPS problem in G6 is a common issue. No solutions so far.
Bluetooth wont work with any device I've tried it with. Many restarts, unpairing, turning on/off bluetooth. Nothing works, need this fixed.
Just adding another testimony of the issue.
T-Mobile
I really hate to say this, but I really cannot recommend LG to anyone anymore after all the issues I've got with my phone...
Another question:
I have 2 NFC payment apps installed.
I'm now on version V20c-EUR-XX and since the upgrade I cannot change my default payment app, so when I'm in the store it always tries to pay with app 2 instead of app 1, even when app 1 is on the screen with the card I want to use...
This really frustrates me, because app 2 doesn't always work in stores (but is my preferred app)...

Is that issue because it's an LG phone? Or does it happen because of that version of Android?
One of my friends is using a Galaxy S8+ and he is running Android 8 (same as mine).
I just cannot think of any reason why they removed this feature...
(So it is a issue with my LG H870)
