Kernel crash : modem crash - LineageOS News & Discussion

Hi all
I had already successfully flashed lineage OS 15.1 and 14.1, but since I had a problem with my IMEI, a kernel crash occurs 3 seconds after booting: Modem crash.
The thing is I have to stay on Lineage OS 15 if I want to keep my imei because if I go on stock-based ROMs, my IMEI becomes 0 and these ROMs do not accept xposed... In addition, I already tried to flash another modem. img or a custom kernel...
Any ideas ?

A few ideas .....
With close to 200 active and officially supported LOS devices, how is anyone to know which one you have?

No Sound | LineageOS | SG Note 3 (SM N900W8)

Hi...
So as of last night my phone doesn't have sound. I've been flashing roms/gapps all day yesterday and today I figured I'd settle on a rom for now given that my model is sparse for roms that actually work.
Having no sound started with putting LineageOS 15.1 on my phone (Oreo) which was working previously so I don't know what happened, so I tried to flash LineageOS 14 / CM 14 (individually) on my phone and LineageOS worked but without audio and I believe CM 14 either kept crashing and/or also had no audio. I then flashed Resurrection Remix Oreo for my phone as I remember in the past the audio worked fine, again it doesn't.
Before the events above, like I said, I had been flashing numerous roms on my phone, lots of the roms either worked for a few minutes and while updating Google Play they would crash or the rom would be stuck at its boot screen.
I've also been flashing a modem on my phone, through Odin, because some Kitkat and Lollipop roms I got didn't have working WIFI. I noticed with that, that the roms would work for a few minutes then crash (maybe because I was trying to use a 5Ghz network?)
I was also trying to flash custom kernels and even though they would say they flashed successfully I'd be stuck at the boot screen that said "Samsung Galaxy Note 3" with it also saying the Kernel or Recovery isn't SEandroid Enforcing.
(I've also been switching between TWRP 3.2.1.1 and 2.8.7.0 because roms with "Aroma installer" would crash TWRP 3.2.1.1)
I'm quite the novice at all this, and maybe it shows? I'd just like my audio back and it's quite evident that flashing roms isn't the solution I had hoped it to be.
Flash the latest stock ROM for your phone to see if everything goes back to normal.
I'm not sure what the latest stock rom would be. My phone originally had lollipop on it which had samsung's touchwiz.
sammobile or updato.com for firmwares .
Okay, thank you. I'm downloading one now. Does choosing the correct carrier matter? I ask because I'm not sure who the original carrier is and the phone is also unlocked and since it is, I would think that choosing a specific carrier doesn't matter.
I flashed the original firmware and got sound on my phone again, and just now as I type, I got finished re-rooting and putting TWRP on my phone and flashed RR Oreo and I have sound.
This is all so very interesting and I can't help but wonder why I lost sound to begin with. Any thoughts?
Bad download or flash or wrong file for model are usual whys.
Oh, I see.
Well, my model is a sm-n900w8 and when searching for roms specific to that one, I've encountered some people saying, on this very site, that the sm-n900w8 is a Canadian model and it isn't widely supported, but went further to speculate that roms that work with the sm-n9005 should work with the sm-n900w8. I even found a forum post about a kernel that helps give compatibility for n9005 roms to n900w8 roms. I'm not sure if "compatibility," is the right word to use, but I hope you get what I mean.
Personally, every time I go to flash a rom, TWRP says it is successful but when I actually reboot my phone it gets stuck on the logo screen, usually with the text "Kernel is not SEandroid Enforcing" and I've even had similar text with 'recovery' instead of 'kernel' pop up.

Roms Not Working!

I'm trying to flash roms on my N9005 but I'm not able to succeed.
I tried first flashing the Fougat rom, I got stuck at Galaxy note 3 bootloop
I tried the Lineage 15 rom. It required TWRP v3.2.1, tried flashing it, but it didn't load
Tried flashing MagMa NXTeam's rom, same with fougat.
Im sure %100 I followed devs steps to flash but nothing is working for me!
Help devs, please!!
Did you confirm the model # in download mode?
Did you try flashing other ROMs that work with an older version of TWRP?
The phone is running the latest bootloader and modem?
1 Its not a N9005 or a fake .
2 User flashing stuff not for a N9005 .
3 Possible damage to a partition .
Judged by previous multiple users posts its likely partition damage .

same for me since i change complete screen LCD+tactil.
Original rom work great but no custom rom. I bought complete screen on china ebay store.
Is screen version is really same that mine ? how to verify ?
I've read through a couple of your posts you've made on several ROMs and even TWRP, it sounds like you are flashing the wrong version for your phone. In several instances you've asked whether to install hlte, in the TWRP thread it seems like you're just letting the phone reboot (which re-installs stock recovery). You might either want to research more into what you are doing before you brick/damage your phone or leave your phone on stock.

Galaxy S5 SM-S902L Stock Rom download

I've got a Tracfone Galaxy S5 SM-S902L that I previously had Lineageos 15.1 up and running on, but it had the issue with some bluetooth devices that I understand is an issue with Lineageos 15.1. We were going to give the phone to our son, but I wanted to "roll it back" to Lineageos 14.1, which doesn't appear to have that issue.
I have flashed a couple of different ROMs (Resurrection Remix, and the afforementioned Lineageos 14.1) being the main ones tried, with a foray back to 15.1, but the phone is stuck on the boot-up animation and never gets past that, no matter which one I try. I've done the standard wipe, flash the ROM, flash GAPPS, flash SuperSU routine, and still no luck.
One gotcha I need to make clear is that the SD card slot on this phone is inoperable for some reason (gifted to us phone). So, I didn't have the storage space (via a MicroSD card) to run a Nandroid backup like I have run on my Galaxy Note 3.
In the process of trying to flash the different ROMs, the last time I tried, I apparently did what I later saw described as a "super wipe", and I think I've wiped the firmware from the phone.
In an attempt to roll back to the stock ROM, I have gone to sammobile.com and looked up the SM-S902L. Go through the process of getting the download link. Click on the download link (after the 30 second advertisement delay), and get the dreaded "404 we can't find it" error message.
So, does anyone have a link to the stock Tracfone firmware and/or ROM for the SM-S902L, or a link to a Verizon-model ROM and firmware that from what I've read will work with this particular model? If you do, I would be very appreciative. If you can even tell me which Verizon model I would need to look for, I would be grateful.

Caught in bootloop when reaching UI

I finally give up. I had lineage 15.1 running on the device and decided to upgrade to a pie based rom. So I flashed november firmware, rom etc. then I only had 3g. Now I decided maybe I need to flash latest december firmware so I flashed the 10.0.3 firmware zip and lost my sim card completely. I reflashed the november firmware. This made the device bootloop so I decided to flash stock november rom again and start all over. Now it's independent of the rom it's running it boots until the sim pin dialog, i can even press some numbers but it just reboots after a certain amount of time. Access to fastboot works fine so any idea how I could fix this would be greatly appreciated.
Looks like you got a corrupted EFS partition. If you have a TWRP backup for that, just restore. And if you don't, there is a thread in the Mi A1 forum about restoring EFS when downgrade from Pie.

First of all try to disable SIM Pin Lock from another phone. It was a bug from previous releases.
Second: never downgrade from Pie because it will causes issues and potential corruption.

But is downgrading from a custom rom comparable? And the firmware zips only have modems and bootloaders don't they? I am always struck how difficult the a1 is compared to my pixel 2

Well, you upgraded to 10.0.3.0 so you must use only that Pie firmware for now

Please help me to get a Custom ROM for Huawei Y5 2017 MYA-L13 HWMYA-L6737

Hi, I've been researching and I wasn't able to successfully flash a custom ROM for this model.
Following the procedures in other threads tutorials, I was able to flash the following ROMS:
DOT-N-v1.2-20180717-y5-UNOFFICIAL.zip
lineage-14.1-20180715-UNOFFICIAL-y5.zip
To be able to flash them, I had to change the ´updater-script´ to be able to bypass the only Y5 model condition, as I was getting an error regarding my current model is: hwmya_L6737.
I wasn't able to run Lineage and DotOS I was able to boot but WiFi was unresponsive and it didn't detect any SIM card, making this ROM unusable...
I was able to restore my phone back to the state it was (Stock ROM and rooted) thanks to a TWRP backup.
I used this devices comparison to attempt to find equivalent ROMs according to the devices similar to MYA-L13 (which is the one I own) to no avail...
SO... I tried my best with these attempts but I'm back where I began!
I've been researching but I haven't found any other suitable Custom ROM for this device.
Can someone point me in the right direction, please?
OR:
Alternatively, I was able to flash and boot into the above DotOS version, but I wasn't able to detect the SIM card, and also the WiFi even if it seems to work, is disconected almost instantly... I guess it has something to do with the chipset or something beyond my knowledge.
Can someone please help me out regarding this?
Thanks in advance!
next time try to get more comercial, vastly sold, phone. choosing Qualcomm helps a lot

Hi, how did you change the updater script file? I have an Y6 MYA-L11 phone but i'm not able to skip model error message (I tried to change all "SCL-L02" with "hwmya_L6737" in the updater script file but it didn't work).
Another question, did you finally find a working rom?
