I am second! Would really love to test it out and would gladly write a review of the product to help it sell

2 QC ports would be great plus 4 normal ports for family, it would be perfect if it is compatible with AFC for samsung devices

But the original post is useless without a model number or link to a seller. Shall i start an individual thread for all the new things i bought this month too?

I don't have a car charger so no, i don't sit in my car and wait for my phone to charge...
I didn't get an in-car charger with my Nexus so i don't even know what you're on about with a stock charger... Unless you moaning at everyone who uses in car chargers? Cos they're pretty handy when you're using Co-Pilot on long journeys.

[Q] Nexus original charger specs? + UK to EU plug

A lot of discussion about aftermarket chargers and car chargers, but I cannot find specs for original nexus/asus charger that you get in the box.
Is it the same as this one?: http://www.asus.com/Peripherals_Acc...Nexus_7_10W_Adapter_and_Cable/#specifications
If not, could someone please post exact specs of the charger (everything written on it) for UK and EU (i know they are most probably exactly the same, but I want to be sure)
Also, since the UK charger comes made out of two parts (as seen in any nexus 7 UK unboxing video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=bfd8ithIxFg#t=229s ), is there a EU version of this? Because UK plug is the only one with detachable plug, as far as I've seen US and EU come normally, without any detachable parts. Is it a very specific part, or can I go to some local electro store and get EU plug?
Thanks!
Really, everyone talking about how they're enjoying their nexuses, and NO ONE will take 1 minute of their time to copy specs off the adapter?
Please, it's not too hard to do.
This is the very same universal charger that comes standard with the Nexus 7. If you care to read the label of yours, you'll see it's exactly the same one, specs (and looks) wise.
Regarding the detachable adapter, I think the one included in the "ASUS Traveller's Kit" for the Eee Pad TF101 is fully compatible but unless you can find someone who's willing to sell you this specific detachable plug in separate, you might as well buy the official ASUS Nexus 7 adapter specific to your country.

Cheers!
I will read charger specs myself in two weeks, when I indeed do get it. For now, I don't have it just yet, and I can't find info on it. I'd basically only like to know output current, so I can compare it to my Sony and Samsung chargers.
About the travel kit, thanks for the tip! Too bad the Eee pad has a completely different plug, and I'm not paying 30$ just to get the EU plug
Even the charger alone is quite expensive. I guess I'll just use one of those massive bulky traditional travel converters
Thanks for answering!

Sign this petition to bring back MINI USB to devices and stop MICRO USB forever!!!

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/954/...usb-to-devices-get-rid-of-micro-usb-for-good/
This is the gist of the petition:
Changing all devices to use Micro USB in replacement for the wonderful MINI USB (which almost never broke) was an obvious ploy by companies to get you to re-purchase charger parts for your devices faster than ever before. Before Micro USB was released, users would have to buy maybe 1 (if that) replacement Micro USB cable per year. Since implementing MINI USB, I have replaced these cables AT LEAST 20 TO 30 TIMES.
For some of us not-so-techies out there, do you remember when your phone had a slightly larger USB connection and hardly ever failed. But then one day you got a new device and came with a different sized (smaller) cable? The end of the USB cable is noticebaly more frail and falls apart very easily. The older cables lasted MUCH longer!
The reason they did this was to make us consumers buy more and more cables to replace our "worn out USB connectors". It's utter nonsense. It's a nuisance always replacing them and it ends up costing a lot of money!
It's time for us consumers to unite and get back our old MINI USB technology to our devices! We won't stand for it anymore. What they did SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!!! Stand with me and let's fight it!

It's too late now. Do you know how many millions of devices already use micro USB?

MicroUSB port came to playground as effort of few years to make a standard in mobile industry. Mainly due to user have to buy new charger for the device instead of previously used.
And the other way, I've seen mini USB ports very fragile and tend to worn out the so easily. Instead of buying new cable you have to repair your device then. That's not my favorite part.

What's wrong with MicroUSB? I have many MicroUSB devices, and many corresponding leads (for charging and the like), and have never ever had one (male or female connector) break.
The MicroUSB is smaller, and I think visually more pleasant. This allows it to be used on ever thinner smartphones and tablets, without worrying about trying to find space for the port. Also, it does not mar the aesthetics of a device, due to it's small and (fairly) flat form factor.
Go MicroUSB!

Inductive charging for the Note 8.0

This thread is dedicated to the development of an inductive charging mod for the Galaxy Note 8.0.
To sum up what is already known:
The Note 8.0 DOES NOT have built in wireless charging capabilities.
Generic 500mA Micro USB Qi receivers do not appear to work (It isn't yet known if 1000mA ones do)
In another thread I had identified 2 large contact pads at the bottom of the mainboard which were particularly interesting. Mainly because they were right near the connector to the Usb board as well as the battery connector.

}
These contacts are not used for anything else such as a speaker or antenna (at least on the Wi-Fi version).
I strongly suspect these are some sort of power connectors, perhaps used for testing the mainboard without the USB board.
Neither of the two large pads are connected to Ground nor VCC, but some of the smaller pads are.
If there is anyone has a bricked Note 8 and would like to donate it's PCB, it would definitely help with figuring out what these contacts are. High res pics of the other side of the mainboard would work as well.
Update:
Well it's now been over a week and a half since the used mainboard I ordered off eBay was delivered to the wrong address. The seller, 268warehouseparts, has been of little help and my neighbors seem to have a need for a GT-N5110 motherboard and have refused to return the package.
I am probably going to end up eating the cost of the board. With that said I have no further plans pursuing this mod.
There also doesn't seem to be much interest in it anyway.

I am very interested in wireless loading my Note 8. I think its not the
greatest problem finding a point to connect, but I dont find a
solution getting the needed current which is at least env. 1 A.
All offers for wireless loading units are about 500mA which is definetly
to low. SO are there transmitter/receiver combinations with needed
current please let me know, then we will try to find a way to connect it in the note.

Last I checked only samsung chargers support 25-45w on the note 10 (don't think any 3rd party has made something with the proper PD configuration yet). Don't think they've released a 25w car adapter yet.
Xiaomi Wireless Car Charger 20W
Check also the 27W car charger that comes with it

Maybe any real-life experience?
I`m in searching of car charger with backlight, two ports (type-c+ traditional USB) than can charge Note 10+ at least 15-20w.

You can calculate the watts yourself. Pretty easy by multiplying the voltage by the amperage . On that one the two options are:
5v*2a = 10 watts
or
9v*1.67a = 15 watts
thanks man. I guess I knew that but hadn't used it in so long. anyone found a high watt car charger ?
