Why is cardboard camera app not supported in m1 even though gyroscope works fine with other vr apps???

It's supported now.

Why don't we have a gyro sensor?

That's a bummer, the Moto X Play doesn't have a gyroscope, nor does it have a pressure sensor (barometer). Those two sensors are usually included in the lowest priced phone. I guess, it will mean no PhotoSphere and CardBoard for us.

I can live without Barometer as I can check the data of my location using internet and apps. But the lack of gyro sensor is a big NO for me. I was down for this phone and I overlooked Snap 615 because of the monster battery. It's a shame that you wouldn't be able to click photospheres with this awesome sony 21mp sensor. There was a tweet from motorola that gyro could be there in hardware but it may be disabled. So we will really know for sure after Moto X play teardown. If this has gyro then it can be enabled with some coding. Moto X style on the other hand has IR sensors, gyro etc. But Moto X style battery is not gonna be great. Looks like I might have to wait 1 more year to upgrade my phone.

You can still use cardboard, but not able to rotate the screen with the phone.
I mostly use the cardboard for movies and computer games, I don't miss or notice the lack of gyro.

No there is no option for google cardboard installation on google play for this phone
I just returned my Homido VR box back to the store.Tried it with my old moto g 4g (gyroscope) and with the moto x play and it totally sucked. You can only play some simple demo games with the graphics of a playstation 1.The most anoying thing is that you will spend most of the time putting your phone in and out of VR box to control simple things. Most apps dont support a controller yet and are frustrating to use. I realized i dont mis anything with VR on android and decided to wait a few years.

Screen jitter fixed for Alcatel 5.5 inch Idol 3

I just noticed that Cardboard apps are working fine now. The Idol 3 uses a Bosch gyroscope
like the Moto G and had similar problems with image jitter. I don't know whether this was fixed
by a system update or something that updated app libraries. Sensor apps no longer show
fluctuations when the phone is stationary.

Are any other phones working better with Cardboard?

ASUS Pixelmaster app port for zenfone max pro m1. Works?

Since the Snapdragon camera app provided with the zenfone max pro m1 is terrible. I was wondering whether a pixelmaster camera apk from asus works in the device or needs to be ported? Can anyone confirm the same.
Yes it works fine .
Are you sure? I'm talking about the ZenUI Camera App here not the stock Snapdragon Camera.
Can you provide screenshots if possible?
No, it works worse than the stock app. Moreover you can't install the latest version of Pixelmaster app.
Is there a way it can be ported? Even Zenfone 5 comes with SD636 and similar specs with zen ui5. So there's a possiblity.
I got the ZenUI Camera running too, but the Super Resolution does not work, and the output quality is worse than Gcam anyway.
You can get the apk from apkpure, or you can simply google zenui camera apk to find one.

Google camera dual camera

Anyone know is depth sensing camera work on Google camera or not as it is ported from pixel which has single camera.

google camera

Any1 ported new google camera for lenovo k4
Google camera only works with SoCs which have a dedicated ISP like the snapdragon 820.
If you want a good cam stay on stock and use FreeDCam, it has manual controls and you can set the exposure time to a max of 1s
Well it's impossible for MTK's only works with MSM Soc's.
