Security patch October 1, 2016

Hey just got the October patch this morning (Videotron, Canada)!
Are we getting ready to get the big nougat update?

I just got it too.... Got so excited when I saw that an update was available... But then saw the size of the update. :crying:
At least they are giving us the security updates to tie us over until we get the nougatty goodness in January.:good:

Hi there, I just got the update too (Poland), but since I'm rooted and also have some changes in build.prop (lcd_density) it obviously wouldn't install.
I got the file from cache however, and there it is on my dropbox: Blur_Version.24.61.52.lux_reteu.reteu.en.EU.zip
Can someone please make a TWRP update from this?

Dude is st1562 your device?the May OTA was 24.61.70 lux retasia...i see this has a smaller build number....

I flashed this sometime ago manually via adb from stock 5.1. I haven't received any update meantime.
The update says it will bo to new version 24.201.5.en.EU

weird.i heard October OTA is 66,4 mb.but i couldnt install.i give up i bored to be unrooted and wait is rediculous.i now flashed droid 2 rom port with inbuild October patches!

Is it safe to asssume that if i revert to unrooted March 6.0.1 version, and take this ota October update, i can root this again like previously with the twrp supersu method?

finally got the update in india also

they said that VoLte is lost with latest update unfortunatelly...

Nope haha this is for the Singapore device! not the taiwan!
it is somewhat theoretically POSSIBLE to still be able to flash it on your Taiwan, but I wouldnt do that if I were you, you'd might just brick your phone!
TBH the signapore firmwares SUCK and have an incredible battery drain, I think you better off flashing the Honk Kong one on your phone, just make sure to see if someone were able to successfully flash it on their Taiwan device!

Just wanted to share that yesterday updated my H860 TWN to 20g AME, so far no issues.
Still Android 7.0, security patch Apr 1st, 2017.

hi, is this the stock boot.img from the 1st or 2nd october OTA? Or are they the same? I am running the 1st update, so i guess I would need the first ota boot.img?
I gotta flash the stock boot img to unroot and update OTA. Will switch to magisk for future easy otas i guess. Thanks!

Boot image should be the same in all october OTA updates, there was only change in kernel I think.
My android security patch level is 1. October, kernel from 28. october and boot img running fine.

If you run into the problem, you can still download stock ROM from en.miui.com and flash it with MiFlash.

Thanks for the info.
I think I will try installing the fresh november OTA from the other (a) partition, which should update the current (b) partition and unroot it as well. I dont even think flashing the stock boot.img before that is necessary with this method. If things go south, MiFlash, yes

Maybe it's better to just wait for November factory image and flash it using MiFlash tool to get the november update on both partitions

I received november OTA few minuts ago. Try delete Google service framework cache and find update again. It worked for me.

Oreo is still in beta version. You can get the update if you wish via the Nokia beta labs program. Just look it up, sign up and register your phone's IMEI and it should prompt you for and update within 12 hours.

As far as I can tell Android 8 has been released in at least Vietnam and India.

In Czech Republic is no Oreo. Still only beta.

Need I Oreo beta for this update or is 7.1.2. sufficient.
I hope that the kill apps bug is gone in Oreo final.

7.12 will be fine to get Oreo, it may just take a few more days maybe

I don't tink being in the beta changes anything. I'm in the beta and still don't have it. It's just a phased rollout, we need to wait for it to spread.

Restore stock boot.img and install normally
To re-root, simply fastboot boot old patched-boot.img and open up magisk and direct install
