How to Downgrade Samsung Galaxy Note FE (SM-N935F/DS) From Oreo 8.0 to Nougat 7.1.1 - Samsung Galaxy Note FE Questions & Answers

Hi All,
I am facing issue of signal loss in my brand new NOTE FE SM-N935F/DS and i am not sure if its due to update from Nougat 7.1.1 to Oreo 8.0.
because as soon as I opened the box after finishing with the initial settings I received update of Oreo 8 which I gladly did that. Unfortunately ever since I am facing this signal loss issue in all Technologies LTE/3G/2G
The Signal reception keeps fluctuating at times I have signal but after a while again same issue persists. It is really heart breaker as all the other features of the phone are working absolutely fine but main reason of phone is to receive calls which I am unable to do so.
Therefore I was thinking maybe if its a bug in new Oreo 8.0 so better try going back to Nougat 7.1.1
As I am new at this Please share the links from where to download genuine Samsung Note 7.1.1 firmware with step by step procedure as how to downgrade it to Nougat 7.1.1 or 7.0 which is bug free would be great of you.

You can downgrade using Odin. Find the Last Nougat Firmware from Samfirmware and load it up on Odin.
If you're new to flashing, modding, Watch a few YouTube Videos.

Did the issue fixed after you downgrade to nougat?.
I have same issue here on mobile network

You cant flash back to nougat, the BL version updated and samsung has blocked down grading it seems.
I cant even flash back to the July update from october , ive had LTE issues on the october update similar to the OP. But i can have fulls bars on LTE and get download speeds of 5 mbps and it should be well over 50 here and it was on the previous update

This is really suck. What's your workaround for this issue? And aslo in my case the phone often showing no bar specially during stand by mode. Has the same happened in your case?

No I have full bars just really slow speeds.
Got another update last weekend which made things work better, they dont typically push out updates back to back so they may have been trying to fix it

OP is still on binary 2 (according to screenshot). So downgrade to latest Nougat firmware is still possible. Only from binary 3 or 4 you cannot downgrade anymore.

Dumb question:
Where do I find which binary I am on? I'm on firmware BRK2 on a new used F/DS

@koreanschoolkid N935FXXS4BRK2 -> XXS4 -> binary 4.
I think it is also shown when you boot into recovery.

@koreanschoolkid why you wanna downgrade to Nougat? Upgrade to Pie, it is much improved!

No doubt. I tried out the s10 and it was quite slick. I'm one of those weird luddites who saves apk out of fear of a bad ui change and thinks that 4.x was the pinnacle of android design.
Been fighting a losing battle against the future for years

@koreanschoolkid I found Marshmallow design much better. However, it's not only the design that changed. All what's going on in the background got much better. Yes, rooting now is no fun anymore, which is unfortunate. I really can only recommend to upgrade to Pie on NoteFE.

Oh gosh. I have a N935K on Android 7 now but the darn thing can't make phone calls. Hooks into T-Mobile LTE just fine and I can hear the other guy but the other guy can't hear me. No winning for me it seems

I truly wish to downgrade from P to O coz I do rely a lot on split screen features which have been dumbed down on the P. I never knew P sucked really hard due to this. Also, the camera UI is too much like iPhones, I hate to swipe between photo and video mode. I've seen my other family members making mistakes due to this on their phones.

If you upgrade to the version of Pie with S4 bootloader you can go back to Oreo. If you went to S5 bootloader you are stuck on Pie. Check last 6 characters of your build number if it starts with U5 or S5 then there's no way back to Oreo.

Software update notification just received

Just got a software update notification on my G5. I don't see any version number or details, anyone else get the notification?
I just got it, did the update, and was wondering the same. I was hoping to get a surprise android 7 update. I guess it would be too much to ask for LG or any manufacturer to release an update with an android version released 6 months ago.
The one good thing I can say about apple. When they release an update it gets pushed out. They dont let the manufacture and then the carrier finger f#%^ it for a year before making it available.
AT&T update also
I also just got the update, in fact it's still installing ... Phone nows says Android Version 6.0.1, Kernel 3.18.20, Build MMB29M Software version H82011n ... no idea yet what is different
I just got the notification. I'm not installing it as long as the phone doesn't forcefeed it, that last H82011K buggered my phone pretty bad and it gives me flashbacks of bootloops and factory resets now when an update pops up.

AT&T has finally started rolling out the long-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update to its variant of the LG G5.
---------- Post added at 03:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:29 AM ----------
Currently downloading the update now.
Yep just got the update on my phone.
It has been a week and have gotten the notification twice and been unable to download it on the Wi-Fi network I was on. Now I don't get it at home and even when I set the clock ahead it says android is up to date. What gives?
It's only too bad Nougat is so greedy for battery. Look at that - 37 minutes screen on and I'm down to 48% left. Awful.
Not worth the upgrade IMO.

1.) Return to the USA, power down your phone and insert your active AT&T Sim card.
2.) Power your phone on and then go to settings>general>about phone>software update.
3.) Press "update now" and wait for update to finish.
Since you aren't yet on the H82011N firmware, you will have to repeat step 2-3 until you are on H82011N, before you can finally update to Nougat, which is H82020J.

I've been looking for a way to capture the actual file myself. Apparently it's impossible for the AT&T G5 because the bootloader is locked and no root is possible, which would be necessary to intercept and copy the actual OTA file.
These problems directly stem from the fact that AT&T will never release a KDZ or TOT for us because they're evil, and ultimately don't want their clients to gain root and potentially extend the life of their phone hardware via 3rd party Roms like CyanogenMod.
Since I am not a developer I am curious whether you can make anything that would for us with the nougat source code for the h820?

Switching to G935U firmware for good?

I was recently thinking to myself to flash Samsung's international firmware on my G935V. The phone's battery is terrible even in airplane mode and I think going to a non bloated ROM would be generally better. I did once have the international firmware but my phones screen started going weird and I flashed it back to the original. Of course it turned out to be a hardware issue and I got it replaced under warranty. Because this happened a day after I flashed the international firmware, I'm scared something similar might happen again. Do any of you guys run the international firmware on a daily basis on your Verizon edges? I was just wondering if it will be practical at all. Also for the one day I had the international firmware, the battery was definitely better without Verizon's crap on it. What do you guys think?
Been on the u firmware for a long time and I love it. However... If you're on Verizons most recent ota your bootloader is version 4 and you won't be able to flash the u firmware with out rooting it.

So what would happen if I tried flashing it through Odin like the old way?
Being on the U firmware the first time was great, but over time it's degraded for new. I'm only getting up to 2 hours of SOT by 50%, as opposed to 3. Not rooted either.
I'm thinking of going to do the PG5 Verizon firmware to see how things are.
Unfortunately it won't flash. The new bootloader will block what would potentionally be an older revision or a downgrade. Currently the u firmware bootloader is Rev. 2. Verizon managed to jump to Rev. 4 with its last update potentially screwing all stock users out of using a stock unlocked debloated firmware with free tethering.

Post a pic of your build version.
Excellent news. As of today the u firmware dropped an update which is on bootloader Rev 4. This is good for you guys wanting to switch and people on t mobile.

I just flashed the new 935U version this morning to my verizon variant. I was getting sub-par battery life on the verizon software so I am going to try this out for a bit. Keeping it unrooted the only thing I can't install is verizon visual voicemail. I have voLTE working but there is no option for wifi or video calling as with the verizon version. Seems to be much faster overall though.
Been using U firmware since June and no issues. Have already gone through 2 updates on U without problems.

How do you know if the VoLTE is working? I installed the latest 935U firmware and i never saw the VoLTE option. I saw it only when i flashed the "Samsung_G935x_QC_Rooted_BOOT.TAR" via ODIN when i was trying to root. I also want to keep the latest 935U firmware and as far as possible avoid root.
I have the toggle in settings and confirmed it by placing a call.

Does updating to this impact Adhell2 installs? Will it re-enable all of the bloat that I've disabled already?
I installed this update this morning and I received "Android. System. UI has stopped working" every time my phone tried to boot.
I thought that Substratum StatusBar Icons for Samsung was causing the issue. I was able to boot into safe mode one time and uninstalled Substratum StatusBar Icons, thinking that this would fix my boot issue. My issue was not fixed and I was not able to boot into Safe Mode again without receiving the "Android. System. UI has stopped working" error every time.
I installed Samsung Galaxy S8+US Unlocked Firmware XAA Version Live!!! (https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s8+/how-to/galaxy-s8-xaa-version-live-t3613013) so that i can get my phone working again.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on re-installing the updated T-Mo firmware?

In case anyone was wondering, I just decided to test it myself. Before applying the update I re-enabled all of the packages because I read elsewhere that people had an issue if certain Samsung system apps were disabled. I did not uninstall AdHell2, just re-enabled all of the packages. The update went by without any problems and I then disabled all of the packages I want removed from the running system after the update.
The only thing I had to do to get back to my same modified config was re-run the ADB commands to restore the mobile data toggle.

At last, US variant FRD-L04 receives Oreo

Finally, we FRD-L04 /L14 users will be receiving EMUI 8 (Oreo) within a month time after Honor/Huawei approved B560 update today evening as well as the EMUI 5 (NOUGAT) roll back package B398.
for those whom unlocked their bootloaders; don't forget to relock in order to receive FOTA.
Enjoy it

Hello all. Just wondering if there was anyone else still waiting on the Android 8 update? It's April 2019 and I still haven't received it yet. I even tried connecting my phone to my computer through Hi Suite, and it tells me I'm running the latest update. I'm still on Android 7 with EMUI 5. Not sure what's going on. I'd love to get the update though. Any suggestions?
Calm down, this is beautiful for FRD-L04 users, but unfortunately you will receive just B562 update after oreo, then it's the end. End of software support i mean. Honor is making strange things, continuosly update security patches on nougat while forgetting about oreo...as FRD-L09 user (running Oreo since it was officially launched a lot of time ago) i can assure that i've not received any other ota update after oreo and i should manually update even to B562

Same boat here. Been using my device stock from day one and finally got an itch to look into any update past Android 7. Found this thread so I installed Hisuite. Sure don't care what-so-ever for their EULA in their app. It's no wonder folks worry about the security of Huawei devices when you have to give up so much just to get a software update. Anyway I states I too have the latest available updates. For such a great phone hardware wise it feels like a shame how little updates it really got during it's life. Ah, well it still is functionally fine for now so I'll carry on as is.
Does anyone know how I can go to EMUI 8?
I've tried OTA, HiSuite, and Firmware flasher. None of these methods work. Firmware flasher, however does find the EMUI 8.0 upgrade, but even if I proxy the download, it won't show up in OTA update. If I download, it won't flash. Any ideas?

Android 11 decreased my SOT by close to 2 or 2.5 hours. Wanting to flash back to Android 10 (HELP)

So I just bought a used Galaxy s10 Plus on eBay. I was getting amazing battery life and great SOT but I was forced to download Android 11 by force update and now my SOT has gone down almost 2.5 hours from when it was previously running on Android 10. I despise having to deal with these issues even though its a used phone. On the SamMobile website I found the correct PDA G975U1UES5GUD1 but I can't find the CSC code on my phone and I am afraid I will flash the wrong firmware and damage the phone.
How can I Find the CSC code on my phone? The device is been used on Verizon prepaid via Red Pocket Mobile and its Factory GSM and CDMA unlocked. I would really appreciate any help I can get with this.
Thank you so much in advance.
Hello there, you are talking about the consumer software customization code right?

If you are you can find it by dialing *#1234# on the dial app. But i think it is VZW since you've said the carrier is Verizon.

Seems like this is it since your carrier is Verizon. You are residing in the US, right?

So I just bought a used Galaxy s10 Plus on eBay. I was getting amazing battery life and great SOT but I was forced to download Android 11 by force update and now my SOT has gone down almost 2.5 hours from when it was previously running on Android 10. I despise having to deal with these issues even though its a used phone. You won't damage your phone if they mismatch, probably only carrier settings would break
But the link I gave according to that you are having Verizon as the carrier and you are living in the US when you got force OTA update then it’ll match.
That's if you can go back.
Doesn't 11 update the boot loader version too?
Well yeah now that you mention it probably.
Hmm, but there should be a way of degrading the software even so.

If he uses Odin he can downgrade fine enough,
Unfortunately, I think he'll lose his data though.
I haven't downgraded from One UI 3.0 before since I only got a A21s.

I'm still running Pie. It's what I've been seeing here about the 11 update updating the boot loader too. Maybe that's OTA upgrades only.
Not a concern of mine though.
Data loss is a given... at least be prepared for it.
Yeah, I agree since I'm still running 10 Idk really about bootloader changes from 10-11.
But if that's the case then Its probably impossible to downgrade without getting a bricked phone.
Doublecheck the bootloader version code of both versions of android so you don't brick your phone.
This is starting to sound too risky I do appreciate everyones help on this post honestly but at this point I am not going to risk messing up a $330 phone. But thank you all for making things clear.

Well, you can wait for the fix then. Maybe Samsung will release a fix to solve that issue

Yeah hopefully thank you for your help tho. Appreciate it.
No problem, but if the kernel hasn't changed the ROM can be downgraded. If it has you can just take it to Samsung and ask them to downgrade for you.
My friend did that.
