Samsung SM-T560 WIFI Underclock? - Samsung Galaxy Tab E Questions & Answers

Hi all
I've got a Samsung Tab E T560 wifi version (Quad-Core, 1,3GHz, 1,5GB RAM, WiFi, Android 4.4) and from the first day i got it it suffered from random reboots and freezing. Then i decided to root it and installed TWRP recovery on it,i didn't unlock the bootloader, well not that I'm aware of...Then i installed No-frills CPU Control/SetCPU app to undeclock it to try that and thats when i saw that the tablet was overclocked to 1300mhz max. and 1300mhz mini.,then i tried installing custom ROM that was just ported for this device but couldn't underclock it,i opened the cpu app and set the settings for mini. i set minimum and for max.1000mhz and tried also 1200mhz,granted root and it says successful but it stays the same 1300mhz mini.,1300mhz max, sometimes it gets the mini value on 700mhz,but the max. value stays on 1300mhz...
So long story,short...My question do i have to flash a kernel that supports overclocking and underclocking or is it just necessary to have root?Or do i need to unlock the bootloader.
I tried to find a custom kernel for this device but couldn't find anything. So what are my options as this device is not really so much supported.
Bottom line,i just need this Ta let to function withoit reboot i don't use it for games so it doesn't have to run on 1300mhz for me, just to be stable...
Thank you in advance

[Q] Cannot overclock to 1.6ghz no more

So I rooted my tf using nvflash, installed the 1.4 prime US version, then installed the clemsyn-blades version 8a kernel. In the beginning, everything was fine. Overclock my TF to 1.6ghz and everything was running smoothly. recently, installed the clemsyn newest kernel version 11. Installation went smoothly but the next day I started to notice my tf freezing. I had to reboot a few times because it keeps freezing. then when I check SetCPU, I notice my cpu cannot reach 1.6ghz no more. I set the governor to performance and still can't hit 1.6ghz, only 1.4ghz. I reinstall everything all over again but still show the same results. Does this mean there's something wrong with my cpu?
try cpu master. if that don't work maybe your rd just can't bangle 1.6

[Q] Defy+ vsel and other questions

Hello!
Just switched to Defy+ from another android phone and I need few advices.
I couldn't get root access with original firmware (BL7).
Tried superoneclick (recommended and newest) and doom lord method.
Both have stopped at "sending 185 (or 9) zerglings" after finishing 145.
So I flashed rooted firmware (DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-231_CEE_ROOTED_No_Signed), installed 2ndinit 2.3 and installed Quarx CM 7.2
build sep 23rd.
The kernel is ge281be6 51 #1.
Second problem is with setvsel. It does nothing. I can set 1 or even 0 for 300 MHz and phone works fine.
Then I tried setXperia and app works fine.
However, since vsel option are available at boot menu, I figured why to use app and went to boot to set values.
Both apps see 4 clock domains and all 4 are used when settings are applied.
But, cpu boot settings show 3 options with fourth available with "gb kernel".
Setting 300/600/800/1000 allows only 3 different domains to be visible to system.
CM setting see 300/300/600/800 with 1GHz missing.
Is there any other kernel to be flashed or what am I missing?
The other thing that worries me is that setvsel and setXperia don't show vsel values set at boot menu.
Do those application read data from system or do they have their own set of default values that they list after install?
In other words, are vsel values set at boot sticking?
And additional question about CM 7.2: at random times OS looses connection to google account.
I reconnects back after a minute or two so it's not a big deal but I would like it to stick.
It's not a signal or baseband problem.
Internet connection during these drops functions normally. Starting gtalk restores connection immediately.
Lastly, what CM7 ROM do you recommend for Defy+?
There is a forrest of ROM's with, um, features not clearly written or explained so it's better to ask more experienced users.
I tried installing Jordan's ROM (from 25th I believe) but there is no boot and recovery displays errors (busybox related if i remember correctly).
Thanx!
Root access on stock firmware... Use the better and with HD recording ms2ginger if you need a stock based firmware
As for roms based on cm7.2, I like wiui by wajk for pure performance use builds by quarx or maniac
Remember to use roms based on gb kernel i.e defy+ builds
If you run into any problems while installing the ROM please refer to the excellent all in one beginners guide or post back here

Well, tried euroskank's cm7 from 26th october and vsel values (clocks too) set at boot stick as expected and setvsel reads them.
Google link drop is still present but I can live with that.

[Q] cpu locked at 300mhz with quarx build 20 Feb

Hi,
I was running cyanogenmod 10, quarx's build from 24 Sep 2012 just fine.
Then I upgraded to 2ndboot build (the 20 Feb 2013 one), and now my cpu is locked at 300 mhz.
In the performance options, the min is set to 300 and the max to 0.
I have searched the forums already, and found the approaching post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764477&highlight=300+mhz
Sadly, I can not change the cpu frequency even in the bootmenu. When I try to do so and reboot, the change is not made.
When I go back in the cpu frequency menu, the settings are reverted back to "boosted", I can not enable or disable the cpu governor.
It seems that the cpu is locked at boot.
I did the upgrade fine I think, wiping cache, dalvik, flashing the rom then gapps, then wiping cache and dalvik again.
The funny thing is, when I try to restore a nandroid backup that I did from my 24/09 rom, it brings me with an empty desktop (not restoring my
data and system at all) which is buggy and eventually crashes.
So I can still flash the 20 Feb 2013 2ndboot build from quarx, but it would be locked at 300 mhz...
Could you please help me ?
(Motorola Defy, green lens)
I would go all way back to stock then do it all again but remember you should factory reset data and wipe caches jus to be 100% sure that its a clean flash but back all ya apps 1st tho

found a fix !
Ok I managed to change the cpu settings in the bootmenu !
Let me explain: the cpu settings menu is too long for the screen, and it doesn't scroll when I reach the bottom.
So I changed options (from boosted to smartass for example), and then selected "blindly" the last line of the menu, to "Go back".
I tried again, this time not selecting the last line but the previous line (by guessing because the menu doesn't scroll...)
This time it helped and keeped the "smartass" setting !
I'm not so sure that this thing did the trick, it might also have to do with disabling the debug mode in the developpers options of the phone.
So after rebooting, the phone was smooth and fast as before... But one last weird thing is that in the performance menu,
min freq is set to 300, max to 1000 this time, but still on "boosted" instead of the "smartass" that I have selected in the bootmenu
Anyways, now it runs at 1000mhz, which is good enough for me !
I am sorry if I disturbed the forums with my question, then finding a fix myself so shortly, but the phone was almost unusable at 300 mhz.
cheers,
micmac
Cpu scaling that's work good and stable for now is "Interactive".
And yes, after changing things in Bootmenu's Cpu settings you need to choose "Save" before going back, or it won't keep your change.

[Q] NOOB question

Please, forgive me if this isn't the right place to post this question, I just find the whole forum a little complicated for me to understand (obviously, I'm not a very intelligent person, not even intelligent).
So the thing is a video on YouTube about overclocking the Samsung Galaxy S4 up to 2.3 GHz and I flashed this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2294083
And I had Rom Toolbox and the app KTweaker (the app that came with the kernel) to set the CPU and when I used KTweaker to do so it worked perfectly but when I used ROM toolbox to edit the values my device rebooted, even the smallest change with Rom Toolbox made my phone reboot. I used to edit the CPU with Rom Toolbox before flashing this kernel so I don't think it's the problem.
After that, I wiped cache, data and dalvik and installed No-frills CPU Control but when I overclock my phone with it and I go to KTweaker app to check if both have the same values and the apps tell me different things
Also I noticed that, before wiping, I could go from 1890 GHz to 2300 with no trouble both max and min. After wiping, if I do that, my phone reboots.
Do you think you can help me? At this moment I don't know if my phone is overclocked or not.
Also I editted the GPU. Mainly because of hard gaming.
So what model do you have?
The kernel you flashed is for the Verizon version of the s4. You can't flash a kernel for another phone onto yours.

Note 3 (sm-n9005) Reboots randomly

Hi. I have random reboot problem on my note 3. Screen freezes (gaming, settings, menu or idle) and reboots when i have installed ANY costom ROM or Kernel. I noticed screen freezes mostly when Synapse app is installed with Kernel, second notice phone freezes then my favourite PegasusQ governor is applied. Phone was working perfectly without any issue on official 5.0 with Minimalistic kernel, no issues about whole year (no synapse). Phone was two times in warranty. First time they instaled stock KK firmware and replaced micro usb port (that whole part in note3 ) ?? , second time simply installed stock Lollipop. And then everything starts from beggining...
Yesterday I zipped all LOGS with SysLog app when random reboot appeared (i was on synapse changing governor from interactive to precognition). If it helps reboot happened yesterday after 02:00 hour.
Zip here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a3svst1yhhtj23u/2016-02-08_11.20.zip?dl=0
Warranty didn't fixed that so I hope real developers will detect what couses this RR.
Sorry for bad English
My phone is now on Phronesis ROM, CivZ_Xplorer-9005-Rev5.0.3-note5port Kernel
Do you have an SD card installed? If so remove it from the phone and see if the phone is stable
I was using external sdcard on official 5.0 lollipop with minimalistic kernel and phone was working without random reboots whole year.... Reboots only on costom roms and kernels with synapse.... I never used costom voltages and higer cpu freequency than 2.5 ghz... no gpu overclocks more than 450mhz, never played with performance governors, no overheating...
Reflash different stock firmware it worked for me
