Flashing kernel boot.img - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi all,
I have OEM Unlock option checked and already flashed TWRP recovery.
After building a kernel image file called boot.img, I want to flash it, but dont know how
With other devices it is simply fastboot flash boot boot.img, but it seems there is no way to enter fastboot mode with this one
How can I flash the boot.img file? Preferably with Ubuntu, as I am building kernels with it

No one? Really?

System delete..

Hello! I have an P8Lite ALE-L21 unlocked and by mistake I delete the system.. Now I don't have OS to boot
What can I do now to have back?
Download the rom for your phone then install the rom using the recovery system op the phone.
If that doesn't work try flashing the rom through fastboot.

I tried both but it dosen't work
I don't find source with system.img
Use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454&page=31 to extract the system.img
- Fastboot flash boot boot.img
- Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
- Fastboot flash cust cust.img
- Fastboot flash system system.img
- Fastboot reboot
Use those commands and I hope it will be fixed.

Twrp fastboot

Is it possible to fastboot flash recocery twrp.img to get twrp back if i had to flash stock recovery img for something. Given im running custom ROM.

Not starting after updating bootloader via TWRP

I just finished flashing the latest vendor image + dirty unicorns rom + root + gapps and made a reboot.
Then I decided to also update my bootloader and downloaded 3.68.
I went into TWRP, flash .img, boot, choose bootloader.img
Thw flash was successfull but since then i cant boot the rom anymore? I am only able too boot the recovery but not the rom.
Do I need to re-flash the rom now or what should I do?
Oh it seems like flashing "boot" in "TWRP" means that you will flash the boot.img and not the bootloader.
So I just flashed the bootloader via fastboot and I guess I will be just fine if I extract boot.img from the lates rom.zip and flash that in TWRP?
@edit: ye that fixed it.

Yep, never flash any images other than the vendor, bootloader and radio unless you are trying to restore to stock. Bootloader is the obvious area of the phone you can use to enter recovery but boot is the actual boot process of the phone so be careful there. Glad you got it sorted.:good:

Nexus 6p with custom recovery is in bootloop!

Hi there! I recently got my first android phone so wanted to install Lineage os 15.1 but messed it up right away as it's in now in boot loop! Here's what I did:
It was on Android 8.0 angler-opr5.170623.011-factory-0e60ceb6 but I unlocked its boot loader and installed custom recovery and I successfully flashed in the fastboot , vendor, radio and boot loader from Lineage OS 15.1 thread, now instead of following the rest of instructions, I madly decided to reboot the device using fastboot reboot and now I don't see anything except these colored circles which is what boot loop probably is! Please help me find a solution! Thank you!
edited: I have successfully entered into bootloader mode but don't know how to proceed!
I'd flash all the stock firmware in bootloader and start over. Grab the latest firmware package from Google's site, extract it, then run:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img (name changes with version)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio.img (name changes with version)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
Reboot to system
You'll probably have to flash your custom recovery again in bootloader after the first boot. It usually reverts back to stock.

Part 10 in the thread above^
I recommend you installing an easy official ROM.
With them all you need to do is a clean flash of the ROM
Since I'm still a noob so I need to muster up courage to proceed but I really appreciate your valuable input guys!! Cheers!! :good:

2019 pro stuck in boot loop

Got this working with Lineage ok but decided to go back to stock. I downloaded the stock recovery rom from NV and set everything up. Inside the recovery bundle is a bat file. Usually I would flash all files manually but this time I used the bat file. It manged the first 3 or 4 commands then came up with error. The box is now stuck in a boot loop and I am unable to access over adb.
Can anyone please suggest a way around this.
Thanks
Here is the bat file
fastboot flash staging blob
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot flash dtb mdarcy.dtb.img
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot oem lock (optional step: required for certain functionality)
fastboot reboot
EDIT:
Eventually managed to flash lineage zip again. Used USB keyboard to access recovery
may i ask, what kind of keyboard did u use?
thanks in advance
