My backup of xdaII mini english rom is accidentally deleted after fresh to dopod 818 CHS rom. I can't download the rom from O2 website because they say my rom is up-to-date. Can anyone do me a favour and help me ?

What are the differences ?
And how do you back up the ROM, may I ask ?
I have a Taiwan Dopod 818 and would like to flash it to English ROM because most of contact are in English and Traditional Chinese contact are too hard to look up... any suggestions ?
There is a lot of discussion about backup of your rom at this forum. You can use search to obtain the result. :lol:

Really ? The chinese version of xdaII mini was launched only few days in HK. I believe the rom in my friend's mini is updated one so I disappointed.
If you are right, do you get one ? any fix to voice quality ? where can I obtain the updated version to test ?

Oh, I discover that what you mean is the version of ext rom, yes you are right, the version of ext rom is 1.03.174CHT

May I know how I can get the english ROM too? I don't know how to access the FTP site.
I want to flash my device as I believe my poor battery performance could be due to a bad ROM...

Thanks. Applied the WWE Europe update to my UK HD2. Initial impressions are that typing seems easier.
Probably an unnecessary question, but just to be sure, is this a final & official upgrade? Apparently the leaked beta 1.48 WWE update said on boot "TEST ONLY NOT FOR SALE" (source)

Unfortunattly as I read in another post, they did not solved the camera issue...

Is the final as I read from other guys who test it...but let's see.
It doesn't say that is TEST version...at least the Europe...

They´re all Shipped roms, newest update from HTC to HD2 users.
The diff between the 1.48 and the 1.43 is that some bugs found on 1.43, such as calendar bug, are now fixed, there´s also some updated apps in there, (Messaging, IME, Manila, Social networking, etc..).

What do you guys use for reinstalling all applications after a rom update?
I just updated my ROM from Dutch to English WWE, and do not really want to start installing all the applications again.
Can I make a backup with Spb Backup, and than use the backup to reinstall all the applications?

Maybe it's only for unbranbded phones sold in UK? Gold Card should solve the problem, if you can extract the rom file.

You Have an EASTERN EUROPE rom on your HD2. you need to wait till the same version is released or use the gold card method to flash the Europe WWE version (which is in effect Western europe & WWE)
HTC really need to sort out their rom naming..
We have 4 or 5 WWE rom versions.. they can't all be World Wide English!

Ok, Im new to win mo phones, and I have no idea how to do this.
I currently have HD2 (unlocked) O2 version, with 1.43.206.4 (70315) WWE.
If I download the WWE version of 1.48, what do I do with this file to update the device, what does it keep or lose in the process of updating and can I (and how) backup anything first?

Nope i have the 1.72.207.0 (82124) GER Manila official rom from o2 website and that is the latest version.
I guess HTC now offers almost the same for non branded phones or it was only for vodafone customers f.e. and htc didnt offer it by intention for everyone.
But i believe it only includes all the hotfixes like in the o2 rom - no visual changes tho.

I havent looked at it, I was just passing on the info that it had been posted.
Don't be fooled by it being released on teh HTC site, if you look at teh available roms on htc.com/uk/ you will see the carrier roms get released there too, so yes, it will likely be orange branded.

Sorry mate but you have a phone supplied by tmobile therefor you need a tmobile rom, the orange rom won't work for you.
If a UK Orange user was able to share his/here S/N it would be great.

It will reset some default settings as keyboard and location

Another Radio ROM should be created

I just debrand my O2 UK to Europe by using Gold Card, and i really enjoy it...
I wonder if i can use that radio rom only, copy it to my Gold card, and flash it like flash a full rom????
