Deep sleep issue - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

I have latest rr rom installed and at night it does not go into deep sleep. I think on other roms a have same problem.

Here is screenshot from cpu spy plus

Now i have Deep sleep on cpu info but my battery still drain a lot during night: it is 30% less any idea? I have franco kernel on rr

I noticed this too, about 20% overnight, nearly on every custom rom. I will turn off the ambient gestures this night, let's see if it gets better. Always on display is off anyway, that should be clear.

Use ForceDoze app to put the device to sleep as soon as you turn the screen OFF.

my ambient gestures is disable.

deep sleep = doze, enter when no sensor cath anything, if you keep night your phone somewhere the sensor feel movements, for exsample, the phone will not enter doze.
use an app for force doze, can work even with no root applying 2 adb command, like naptime, greenify and so on.

No, its your rom/kernel problem, i'm on "other rom" and i dont have this issue, standby only drain 1-3% over night.

Lastest Carbon with inbuilt kernel.

Problem is not with rom nor kernel. There is a problem in the USB port i also have this problem. There is a temporary fix. Not a permanent one.
The temp fix is you need a root browser with root permissions
Go to /sys/module/dwm_msc (or something like that) /parameters then click on the file disable_host_mode and change the value from N to Y
If phone is restarted the value gets reset to N

OK, i changed it, let's see what's happens.
@GVN.Gallus could you check the value on carbon ROM ?

I had the same issue with stock rom. Naptime did the trick for me. Before that IT wouldnt go info deep sleep.

Using Naptime during night still drain a lot battery ... Help me :|
Edit:
During night my phone is always on deep sleep. i checked it with cpu spy plus.

It is normal? Screens from wakelock detector.
100%-75% after 3 hours with 40 min SOT. ROM:Aosp extended with inbuild kernel

Everything look ok to me, BUT one app
I think Google Play Services causing you drain, on my stock ROM, Play Services is least active app while on you screenshot it is most active one. Try to, disable, enable and then update it.

[fix] battery drain on 44s

Hello, after updating to 44S from 38R I had noticed that the battery has been draining faster than normal. By looking at the battery stats I saw that Android OS using most of the battery at some point going up to 70%.
I have found a fix for this problem but you will need ROOT and have XPOSED installed.
1. download and install XPOSED
2. Download and install this module : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-nlpunbounce-reduce-nlp-wakelocks-t2853874
3. Activate in the modules and reboot.
4. Open Amplify and you may have to pay the developer $2 to unlock full features.
5. Under wakelocks press on "LocationManagerService" and active control this wakelock leave it to 240 seconds default.
After enabling this I have noticed no more battery drain and haven't seen android OS draining battery in the battery stats.
Thanks to Cryptyk for his xposed module
Remember to hit thanks.

an easier fix, if your rumming CM 44s, is go into the Apps Ops and disable "Keep Awake, Wake Up, Auto Start" on certain that drains battery... I have 1% drain per hour while on idle/standby...
Currently, 11hrs total time, 1 hr SoT and 10hrs idle/standby..

I'm also using the Calkulin's stock rooted CM 44S and the Google Play services have a lot of wake ups. To disable them, you must go to : Settings -> Privacy -> Privacy Guard -> Press menu button -> Advanced -> Google Play services . Then disable what gd6noob said : Keep Awake, Wake Up, Auto Start.
PS: You can do this for other draining battery apps/services too.

Is there a way to back up these changes made and reapply them after you flash another ROM or even after flashing cm11s again instead of manually doing it again as, like you said, it can take quite a while to do it lol

What specific settings do you use.
44S is getting great battery life without any tampering or "fixes." I lose 1-2% overnight with wifi off and generally 6-7 hours of screen on time with 25% battery remaining in a very heavy use day. IMO most people would be well served just doing a factory reset rather than making unnecessary changes to their ROMs.
Alright, so I have 4.4.4 for the last two days now, and followed Timmee's directions and here as well. I also disabled notifications from Play Services as I was getting the "Play Services has stopped" messaging.
I've rebooted and waited about an hour.
I checked into my Setting/Apps and see that I have 3 Play Services running, and as I look at them, two of them have one process and 1 service, and the other one process and 3 services?
I'd think PS would only have one process, and what-ever service number it needs?

Does not work for me. Trying to dissable those settings that keep phone awake cause problem to stuff like Youtube. Basically if i play Youtube the phone will go to sleep.

Massive battery drain when screen is off

So I have my phone like 4 days now and the first day I immediately noticed that when I turn off the screen it drains battery like hell (60+% in one night). It's like the cpu doesn't go to sleep at all.. Sometimes it works fine and looses like 5% at night that's fine for me but then the next day it will loose 10+ % in one hour by doing nothing...
The phone is pure stock, I changed nothing, no root or anything...
This is really annoying have no idea what it could be that drains so much battery.. Already looked if an app was draining but no...
Someone has the same problem? Or maybe knows how to fix this?
Clear the cache.
In case you don't know.
Turn phone off
Hold Home + Power + Volume Up till you see the Samsung logo, then let go of all buttons.
A menu should load - Navigate using vol keys and select using power button.
I had a similar issue and this fixed it for me.

So did it last night but changed not much at all, at most it drains 2% less an hour..
I'm thinking if factory reset would fix it but I don't really wanna do that..

There is an excellent thread on battery life for note5 which you can use to get tips for edge plus too. Here is the link :
http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-5/567125-note-5-battery-life-thread.html
Samsung has provided lot of inbuilt apps like Smart Manager which is like Clean Master you get in Play store.
Open Smart Manager ---> Click on Storage --> click on Detail ---> click on Cache data --> click delete to clean cache.
Lot of people downloaded Greeify, shutupp, wave lock detector and doze which actually use battery. After I uninstalled them battery life increased by 45 minutes.

I agree. Most of the apps that promise to increase battery life degrade it further. In fact, this Paranoia of ours with battery life (keep checking every 10 minutes for battery drop) affects it further.
So, I would suggest uninstall all 3rd party apps. And do not track battery life every instant. And still if you think your battery isn't lasting long enough (check On Screen Time/ Active Time at end of day), contact Samsung.
Hello there!
I had the same problem initially. I wasn't sure which app was causing. So i did a factory reset and reconfigured everything. Now all well. So i guess the best thing would be to backup everything do a factory reset. Then carefully monitor the other app you are installing. There are few that draws lot of power for location services. Then disable that S voice wake up command thingy I am guessing it runs all the time which is not so great. Don't go for Greefiy or any apps like that. Those don't do great job unless you have a Xposed running
So I tried clearing the cache but did noting. I had GPS always on I thought maybe if I turn it off but the same changed nothing.. I don't have any "battery Monitoring" or greenify like app.. Sometimes it works fine but othertimes it drains like crazy doing nothing.. I will try factory reset, hope that will fix this..
Same was here

Hello mate. I faced the same battery drain problem. It wasn't going to deep sleep when screen was off. Last night 6-7 hours screen was off but the device wasted my %19 battery so result was missing the alarm and got late to work etc. Then I rooted and flashing the Arter97 kernel solved this(Now draining about %3). The device is now sleeping deeply like a deeply sleeping baby when screen is off lol.

So it's been a couple weeks now and I managed to get a little bit better battery life, drains 15-20% over night before it drained something like 60 70% but battery life is still poor some guys get 7 to 9h SOT I'm can be happy if I get 4 5h..
I'm running custom rom arter kernel tried everything but nothing really fixes completely my problem.. Start to think I have a faulty phone..

Odd overnight battery consumption

So throughout the work day my battery life was absolutely stellar, amazing.
But, I took my phone off charge at ~95% last night at around midnight. Woke up at ~6:45am and it was down to like 75%-78% don't remember specifically.
Everyone else is saying their phone doesn't lose more than like 35 overnight but mine lost a crazy amount of battery.
The ONLY thing I can think of is that it had Netflix streaming to my Chromecast overnight but at the very worst it would have streamed two episodes, then stopped, then it would've stopped streaming to Chromecast entirely and just idled on my phone without playing video or anything.
Would that situation above cause a ~20% battery lose? It didn't seem like it to me based on my battery life throughout the previous day but I don't know .. I'll test again tonight and be sure to leave Netflix off and all that.
I get 0% drain over 8h(havent tested it for more than that), I leave the apps open but the connection off. think you have a app gone rough, check your battery stats whats taking up all the juce

Before I charged my phone just like a half hour ago, it said the battery usage was like .. 20-20% Android OS, 15%~ something else regarding Android, then 5% Netflix, 3% Reddit Sync, a few other apps with low percentages, nothing really hogging anything. Is it possible my phone just didn't go into sleep mode? Is there a system package that controls that, that my Samsung Package Disabler Pro may have disabled? Not too sure what happened. Hopefully it doesn't reoccur tonight.
Quick question: Should I even be using Greenify and manually hibernating apps or should I just wait for a ROM and THEN use it to automatically do that? I don't even know if constantly manually using Greenify is helping or hurting my battery lol.

So I should just uninstall Greenify then?
Is Doze something that's just built into the S7 itself that after a certain period of time it puts the phone to sleep? Maybe Greenify was interfering with that and my phone never actually went to sleep?

I have the North American Verizon S7 Edge .. not sure what's going on. Is there a system package that Doze runs off of that might be disabled by my package disabler?
I just read another thread on another forum where other people don't see an option for Doze anywhere either.

Yeah it seems like the phone is just using an app-specific optimization program instead of Doze or something, no clue. I have options to optimize apps for the lowest possible battery consumption and that's automatically on for basically every app, but there isn't a single hint of Doze or a screen before the battery graph screen.. weird.
I uninstalled Greenify so hopefully that will fix it.
Hopefully there isn't a system package for doze that I have disabled, I scrolled through everything I disabled and nothing had much to do with Doze, battery consumption, power, energy, etc.

Yep lose 1% in 10 hour sleep wifi off all apps open
Must've been Greenify interfering with the built-in Doze (or app-optimization for SD820 variants).
Turned AOD off, uninstalled Greenify, last night battery went from 99% to 98%.

Phone won't enter deep sleep....

Setup: running latest stock image (mhc19i). Rooted, xposed, ElementalX kernel with ghost pepper script, and I run naptime with aggressive Doze.
Issue: fell asleep with my phone around 50% battery remaining. Woke up seven hours later and it had 30 something. I typically don't see more than 1-2% idle drain over night so this got my attention. I checked better battery stats and I obviously have a wakelock issue. Not sure what it could be. Powermanagerservice was running at something ridiculously high, like 96%. Audiomix is the other wakelock running rampid. See screenshots below. Any input appreciated!

Have you tried rebooting and then monitoring it to see if it happens again? It could just be a one-time bug, you'd need to reboot to confirm that though.
I was thinking that as well. I did recently reboot. I'm going to accumulate a good amount of up time and then check the stats again. As of now, battery drain seems to be normal.

I've seen this Audio Mix wakelock happen before on the OnePlus One, from memory I think it was kernel related, so switching kernels might be worth a try. You could also try using Wakelock Detector to see if it'll shed any more light on it, maybe it's an app rather than the kernel.
Hmm....think I solved my issue. I got audiomix wakelock to completely disappear. Simply going into settings and turning off all notification sounds did the trick. For me it's not an issue, however, for others who don't constantly keep their device on vibrate I could see this being a massive dilemma. I'm assuming "powermanagerservice" is a normal wakelock to observe?

Yes, powermanagerservice is perfectly normal for when the phone is in use (or some background operation is running). You'll see it roughly correlates with your screen-on time.
I recently decided to check the huge battery drain during night and I found out that my phone would not go in deep sleep. Can anyone please help with that? Also, the 'jio' app I have been using was installed 50 days back and the battery drain similar before that too. Would be really great if I could find a solution for the deep sleep issue. I am trying to load the screenshots of betterbatterystats but not able to.

huge battery drain help

Running pure nexus 7.1.2 with ex kernel and glasscannon profile. I have naptime greenify amplify installed.im getting 11% battery drain over night. I don thave facebook or messenger installed just whatsapp and viber. I do have a magisk module that charges my batt till 80% or any set value (magic charging switch). I leave wifi on at night. I dont use mobile data. I only use bluetooth as needed. Can someone help me diagnose where my huge batt drain is coming from a d eliminate it?

What is the battery drain when you were on a stock ROM? First test your battery with Accubattery, then use a battery drain app like BBS or GSam.

Uhm.. well sir ive never ran this stock out of the box. Once i got it, i rooted immediantly. It has been sitting for almost 2 years since purchase until i had the screen replaced. Since posting this, i have reflashed my rom of choice and kernel clean. Going on day 1 right now with very light usage. (Attachment)
Running pure nexus 7.1.2 latest elemental kernel with glasscannon profile stock values installed via aroma. Only change readhead value to 1024. Gpu at performance profile incase i wanna game on the fly. Which happens only when im bored. I never tried accubattery but magic charging switch does have a command for checking the status of the batt ( see attachment) will get up on BBS to and will post results after a full charge.
Edit:might i add yes the wifi on whole time, yes i did use this to work light browsing and messaging during break. Yes i did listen to music via headphones and via bluetooth car audio. Phone was charged the night before around 11pm- woke up to 98% which was better than what i initially started with. "AAAANNND i did tasker sync to turn on only 15 mins for the whole day before i sleep. Sync being off from midnight till 1145pm, repeat.

Can you show some BBS stat's for wakelocks after you charge to 100% and don't use it at all and leave it over night and send the stat's soon as you wake the device.

Didnt my last post contain screenshots of partial and kernel wakelocks? Sorry if it was insufficient.
This is now showing up. (see attachment)
Qpnp-smbcharger-17 seems to be drainig 1.2% per hour. How can i mitigate this?

I just need to see the stats without the phone being used, that's why charge to 100% the let it go into standby (unplugged) when you sleep and then when you wake up. Take a picture of the stat's and The kernel wakelocks can be fixed with custom kernel only.

Ok. Will do.
Using multiple battery savings apps like Greenify and Naptime doesn't really make a lot of sense and can actually cause battery drain. I use Naptime, Better Battery Stats and a Magisk module that allows Google Play Services to Doze with the rest of the phone. I leave WiFi and Location High Accuracy on all the time and I get 2% battery drain overnight. I also use a battery charging alarm to keep my phone charged between 40%-80% rather than a Tasker profile but I'm not sure if either method is more efficient in terms of battery drain.
