How to root US version? - ZTE Axon 7 Mini Questions & Answers

I've looked everywhere and can't find a guide on how to do this. Only looking to root, don't need to upgrade or flash a different rom.

ok thank you!
I tried using kies to upgrade to 4.4 as i figured that would be the easiest way, but keep getting an error, so I do need to flash stock using odin. but I'm so confused as to which one to download. right now when I fire up kies, it shows this:
current firmware version: PDA:MJ7 /PHONE:MJ7 /CSC:MJ6 (ZTO)
Latest firmware version: PDA:NG3 / PHONE:NG2 / CSC:NG3 (ZTO)
can someone let me know which firmware I need to download from sammobile.com?
thanks so much.
oh please disregard. I didn't know sammobile.com had a place where we can search by country, etc. it's really cool. so I found what I needed.
thank you.
I was able to do an OTA update, so now I'm on kitkat 4.4; so my question is, now do I need to do anything for preparation in order to root?
thanks.
nothing to do
flash cf auto root and you re done...
thank you! you guys are great!

[Q] Revert to Lollipop

Hey guys...
I have been running the official 3.0 beta for a week and now I want to revert to 2.2.1.
I know I have to downgrade TWRP (right?) but I find the posts a little clttered som I need a straight answer.
What do I need to go back? I would like to keep a modded recovery and I intend to root it afterwards.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/guide-helper-zips-to-switch-oos-3-0-oos-t3351253
just follow this tutorial and flash back your 2.2.1 rom and then flash SuperSU to root it
I read that one but I´m unsure that the recovery is a modded one (TWRP)... cause I wanna keep that. But from what I understand I have to flash an older TWRP for Lollipop?
Edit: Nevermind... I got it. Now I just have to find the Stock 2.2.1

G900V from 4.4.4 to most current version with root?

Looked thru the other threads, and didnt see anything that pertained directly perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.
Have my stock S5 from verizon, on 4.4.4 NK2 firmware. Looking to update to whatever is the most current stock firmware with root. I'm coming to this from years of rooting Sprint devices, this is my first Verizon and I've been putting it off forever. Been getting the nag screen everyday now for a software update and I figured it was the time to update this and get myself root.
Thanks in advance for any help in where to look. Please forgive me in advance if this is a duplicate, I searched...I really did, but since its all new to me I wanted to ask.
Looks like the process is to flash 4.4.2, root, check if bootloader can be unlocked, and then proceed 2 different ways if it can be dev bootloader unlocked. If it can, unlock bootloader, flash twrp, and then flash whatever rom you want. If you can't unlock the bootloader, folow the guides to upgrade keeping root with safestrap and use roms that are TW for locked bootloaders. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I just got a 4.4.4 g900v myself in a trade and I'm figuring out how to proceed as well.
Ok, slight difference. You can root & check the bootloader from 4.4.4...

Upgrade to Nougat before or after root

I couldn't find a solid answer to this question anywhere. I have a stock axon 7 A2017UV1.0.0B29 build and wanted to root the phone, but also wanted to upgrade to Nougat b15. Would I have better luck rooting first on b29 and then upgrading or should I attempt to root after the upgrade is complete? I'm not really looking to install any custom Rom at the moment and would just like to have a rooted device. Many of the tutorials bundle root in with a custom ROM which is part of the reason why I'm having so much trouble searching for a solution.

Just find a guide and follow it until you have unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP. That's all you need to have root.
After that you just flash Magisk or supersu

How to root and install custom roms easily?

I just bought a secondhand s10+ exynos. I wanted to root and install custom roms on it but all the solution i found is complicated. Id there any way to root this and install twrp without downloading the firmware? Thanks jn advance
I would say that you can use the TWRP guide to install the recovery and then continue to install a custom rom or using Thunderstorm Kernel if you want to use the stock rom.
You still need to unlock the bootloader but it is the only solution i know so far.
Here is the official TWRP thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-0-x-twrp-for-galaxy-s10-e-5g-exynos.4180287/
