Carrier OTA outside US - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions & Answers

I want to buy s8 Active but I live outside US. Is it possible to receive OTA Updates outside US (in Europe)?

No, you'll have to Odin them yourself and the active firmware getting posted anywhere is not common

Thank you for the answer.
Is there any backdoor way to recipe OTA or update except Odin ? Maybe specific carrier, VPN or Samsung PC software?

Thanks for stating the obvious. My original question asked if anyone had received the UK OTA update followed by a statement that I know it has been released, hoping someone helpful rather than condescending would reply.

[Q] Software update unavailable verizon galaxy s5

I bought an unlocked Verizon Samsung galaxy s5. I am using T-mobile carrier ( unlimited high speed internet) . And I know a new software update came out for the galaxy. So, every time I try updating my software, I keep getting this error message : "Software update is temporarily unavailable". Is there any way I can fix this?? Or what can I do about it??

You could flash the firmware manually through Odin. Or maybe connect to Kies?

have you tried the stock rooted oc4 zip? i assume by unlocked meaning you have custom recovery which should eliminate the need to use odin or kies altogether.. if you mean sim unlocked then there is many places you can find the update

I think he's referring to the US snapdragon models.
Yep, US Snapdragon S8+ for Sprint has been released. Finally a Snapdragon model! Maybe the rest of the models will follow. Not published on Sammobile yet but by using the SamFirm.exe, I was able to download Android Pie for the S8+ (Sprint version).
Just flashed the Sprint Pie firmware onto my TMobile phone (Odin). Everything seems to be working so far.

Hey guys I made a guide for flashing this Firmware onto a AT&T or Verizon S8/S8+ if anyone is interested.

Worked perfectly for me. Didn't wipe/reset my phone, and all my AT&T stuff is still working perfectly (Wi-Fi calling, VOLTE, Enhanced Messaging etc).

Just don't proceed to update ?
S8+ on tmobile I installed the sprint update with the modded 3b Odin only two things to know first have the latest tmobile update downloaded from the updato firmware website so you can plug in the user data slot inn Odin with the tmobile one and second make sure you use csc home from the sprint update in the csc slot or you'll wipe your phone!
Got it last night on my GS8+ on ATT.

This can help others who do not want the receive the updated Interface / Android 9.0 Pie
under Settings >>> Developer Options >>> Auto Update System has been disabled.
under Settings >>> Software Update >>> Download Updates Automatically has been disabled.
This is the best option to prevent over night mandatory firmware updates that were common in the past.

S10+ Unlocked from AT&T - will it update?

So, I live out of the US and I don't have an AT&T SIM. I bought an S10+ which is (I assume) unlocked from AT&T, so my SIM is working. Out of the box it updated to g975usqs1asd9. I've read on an AT&T support page that the device must be on AT&T network to update.
Now I'm slightly worried, will I receive more updates in the future because I will not be in the US that often and on AT&T. How did it receive this one?
Is there a way to continue OTA updates in the future with the stock ROM?
You can flash through odin. Unless things have changed, I've never had an (non-iphone)ATT phone update OTA when on another network.

Ok, so that means I should just monitor when new versions show up and then flash them manually. No big deal, I guess . I've done this before, but I was never in this kind of situation.
