Bluetooth Connection Issues of Sony, Bose, Garmin Bluetooth Devices - EMUI Tips & Tricks

Hi, all!
Here you have some steps on how to fix the Bluetooth connection issues between Huawei devices and several Bluetooth devices: https://imgur.com/a/xFuVUAo. Check them out!

This is basically just info on how to connect, I've done these steps and still my Nokia smart watch loose connection randomly. Sometimes I even have to reboot to get it working again.
Even if the app is setup with manual battery management, connections are broken and notifications stop. Same on both Nokia and Garmin wearables.
Fix your damn software, apps are killed even if setup not to. Battery manager is way to aggressive and destroy the phone experience. A top of the line smart phone like the mate 10 pro feel like a cheap throwaway phone.

Bluetooth pairing problem with 2.2

I have 2.2 official, rooted (315) working with the performance upgrade.
Each time I get in to my car, although I have previoulsy paired the phone with the cars bluetooth, it asks me for the password, as if the phone doesnt store the it from one use to the other. Once I put the passord in it works fine.
On my other car it has paired fine and remembers it each time. I don't have to redo the password.
the thing is I was using Froyo 2.2 on my previous phone, an HTC Desire and didn't have this problem on either car.
Is this a phone or car issue and if it is the former, do I need additional software?
I have now flashed Steve's 1.5 Rom and the issue is still there.
What I do not understand is that the HTC Desire was fine on 2.2 but with the Streak it is there, I am asked to input my pairing password everytime I get into the car.
Does the Streak handle its bluetooth differently to the HTC? Is there an app I can use?
Has anybody had a similar problem?
Sorry mate no issues whatsoever with mine and the parrot mki9200 handsfree kit. I'd suggest fiddling around in the phones bluetooth options, and maybe delete the partnerships both on the phone and on the handsfree.
Other tha turning the bluetooth off and on there aren't any other 'settings' that I can find. Its there an equivalent 'tweaks' type as app as you get with win mo that might have some extra settings?

The only BT problem I've seen, is with mine...
318 "stock", no other mods.
If I have wi-fi enabled & connected to a wi-fi hotspot, or my home router,
BT conversations will cut in and out, until I turn wi-fi off.

now dont take my word as the word of god as I started androiding since yesterday in the evening only but:
when in car, activate the connection between your handsfree and your phone, then goto bluetooth settings in your phone, tap on the connected device, there will be a bunch of further settings (like what services it would use, etc.)
i think that in your situation however the best advice would be deleting the pairing details both from the phone and from the handsfree.
I usually don't have this problem with my parrot mki9200 handsfree kit, but I have experienced similar things in the past, but that was only when my phone spazzes out and error occurs. Can't remember what errors like but it's usually when random things start force closing and stuff, and the phone is due a full reboot (not forced to reboot but manually rebooted just to refresh the phone) or I need to repair for whatever reason. I either just have to re-enter the passcode and I'm off or when I try to repair the connection, it would connect straightaway without asking for a passcode, but then if I unpair the connection, the system would then prompt me to enter a passcode and entering the passcode would connect the devices together again (even though I'm trying to unpair them).
My advice would be to try doing a fresh pair by establishing a full and stable connection (so probably after you've entered the code and are connected) then unpair on both the phone and the your car kit, then power both systems down (car so the hands free kit powers off and the phone), then start them up again and establish a fresh pair connection and see if that helps. Other than that, I would suggest seeing if there is any firmware updates for your hands free kit cos it might not be fully compatible with the Dell Streak even if you are running 2.2 (I had to do this with my system as it would constantly randomly disconnect then reconnect itself but this went away after a firmware update).
My car s hands free its one of those with no settings, it's just there constantly on ready to pair mode and just adds any phone is in range if that phone is in discovery mode. Its just always like that so it never has a settings section, you just do it on the phone.
My two previous phones, an htc desire with 2.2 and a htc legend both connected flawlessly without any of the pairing issues.
I took the car to the dealer and he said there were no upgrades for it so it is really frustrating to think that the Streak is running the same software as the other phones but for some reason in its architecture it us not compatible with my car. The other annoying thing is that on my other car it works perfectly.

Yeah bluetooth can be a major pain in the a55
Sorry to say, but as an extreme measure, hard reset might resolve..

If I use titanium back up can I quickly restore everything as it is here after a heard reset? What is the best way to do this?

Bluetooth blues

Hello all.
I am having some bluetooth connectivity problem with my moto g 4 US xt1625 Retus channel (non amazon version) stock everything.
Basically the connection to my smartwatch is unstable and keeps dropping on and off.
Normally I would be blaming the smartwatch for this BUT it connects absolutely perfectly to my moto G2 (cyanogenmod 14) without any hint of misbehavior
I've already tried;
Forgetting and re-pairing device (also rebooting phone before repairing)
Factory resetting watch
clearing app data and cache of system bluetooth apps ("bluetooth share" and "bluetooth MIDI")
Disabling 4G (sometimes interferes apparently)
Disabling wifi
Running phone in safe mode.
*edit - also tried disabling power optimisation for both system bluetooth apps AND the watch companion app
I also reconnected my smartwatch to my old moto G 2 after trying all these things and it still works perfectly.
Old moto G2 had blutooth 4.0 LE and this moto G4 has bluetooth 4.2 LE which would offer no comparability issues.
Has anyone had any similar problems with their bluetooth?
Thanks in advance
I think my next move will be to root, and start removing G apps that could be interfering with the bluetooth connection

I have had a problem with my Fitbit connecting that didn't happen on my G2 or G3. I keep my cordless home phone connected with no problem though. What I have to do is forget the Fitbit in my bluetooth devices and it connects fine. If it's even showing up in the bluetooth devices it won't connect. That seems strange that it will only connect that way but others have reported the same thing. Maybe try and see if it connects after you forget it in the bluetooth settings and it's not even showing up.

OK maybe you're on to something.
If I connect to the watch using the companion app, then enter bluetooth settings and "forget" the device..... It still appears to be connected
But a few seconds later, it automatically pairs and re-appears in the "paired devices" list.
Is there a way to prevent re-connect?
Actually, after "forgetting" it several times, It's staying connected and has done for a 15 minutes now.
I'll report back if and when it disconnects.
Cheers
Ok so the watch disconnected a couple of times in a few hours. (this is a huge improvement from before)
Each time, "forgetting" the watch in bluetooth settings caused an automatic re-pair and return to good connection.
Maybe I can use "tasker" or similar app to automate this unpair upon disconnect?
Cheers

Yeah, it's strange that it works that way. I think it's the device not compatible with that version Bluetooth. My Fitbit doesn't try to reconnect once I forget it unless I make it pair then it will actually work sometimes and sometimes it doesn't when paired. It always works if I don't pair it at all. Have you tried clicking on the gear besides your watch in more settings once it connects and unchecking what ever connectons it shows in the check boxes?

If i click the gear next to the watch in the bluetooth settings, the only options i have are to rename the device, or to forget it
I have no checkboxes or anything like thar.
Do you have advanced bluetooth settings installed or something???

Some of my devices have check boxes for contacts, audio, etc. but not all. I thought maybe that would be something to look at.

Ok, its still messing around. I'm going to install the Temasek unofficial cyanogenmod 13 and see if that is an immediate fix, or if the additional options offers a fix.

update;
after ugrading moto g4 to android nougat (7.0.1) I no longer have any issues with bluetooth connectivity.
6.0.1 was to blame!
my phone is updated to stock Nougat also and still having bluetooth issues staying connected to my car (2012 ford fusion with mysync) I will be keeping an eye on this thread.

I seldom connect my phone to mysync but my wife does. She also keeps her G4 connected to the Panasonic home phone system while home. I've noticed that since the update to Nougat mysync is very slow to connect on her phone. The Panasonic cordless phone seems to connect fine. Mysync will usually connect although she has to drive for 10 or 15 minutes before it does occasionally and other times it connects instantly. One time I had to delete her phone in the car and add it back. I wondered if it was a problem of it not disconnecting from the Panasonic, but that shouldn't be past the end of the driveway. Then again it may be just a rip in the space time continum. ?

P10 Plus: BIG problems with bluetooth and correct sync

I've used 3 different phones with my FM radio bluetooth receiver - a device I am forced to use, as my cars bluetooth is too old - it connects for phone calls, but wont connect to my phone to play audio files, hence why i use this device.
LG v20 - no problems. P10 Plus? Different story.
Mid-song over the bluetooth device, it suddenly de-syncs itself and the audio starts playing over the phones loud speaker. Completely unprompted. So I disconnect the bluetooth device inb my car, turn it back on....then it suddenly reconnects with the phone and continues playing the audio without interruption inside my car. This happens several times over a 30-45 minute period.
Bluetooth should just be bluetooth, right!? Can this be a quality control problem? An issue to do with unlocking the device or installing something like TWRP? This combined with the aweful features/stock apps of EMUI 5.1 is really destroying the experience for me. Anyone else had same or similar issues?

I dont have this problem. Bluetooth is very strong and very stable. Try updating your phone firmware it might help
EMUI is very decent. If you dont like the layouts given, you are on android. So easy to slap on a different launcher.

I'd argue that EMUI is one of the main things that stand in the way for more people to switch over to Huawei. That, and quality control. I possibly have a dodgy phone, its just this device I am using has not had problems with 2 other smartphones.
I will update the firmware to 151 (latest in my region) as soon as I know how to do it safely (boot unlock, TWRP and root installed - dont want to lose any)

Similar Bluetooth problem with Huawei p10
I have similar problem with Huawei 10. Bluetooth connection doesn't work with my built in Media system. All other phone devices connect and work fine, but Huawei p10 doesn't work. I just posted my issue here on YouTube. You can find it by searching 'Huawei p10 Bluetooth problem'.
having same issue as yours. music wont play through bluetooth. :/
temp solution is delete cache in bluetooth share in APP and restart your device. but that only works for one time. if you want to connect another time, must do the same steps. I am sure it is a software bug
try powering the device off then hold volume up and power the phone on at the same time and keep holding volume up until you see a EMIUI recovery mode from there select Delete Cache data and when thats done click on Restart/Reboot the device then see if problem remains. I had todo this steps few times when google play store would hang on "Downloading..." status now and then, But when I got B170 firmware for my p10 plus it sorta fixed it and now installs properly.
P.S my issue is different but you never know, this might even fix the bluetooth issue. So it's worth a try.
Can someone please tell me how to connect to paired devices on my P2?
As stated, pairing works fine, but how do you actually make a paired device connect? I can't find any option in the EMUI!?

Bluetooth issues

I have 3 main devices that I pair to my phone via bluetooth: watch/lg tone/car
The watch stays paired with no issues, but the watch is having issues swapping from the lg tones to the car and vice versa.
Anyone found a remedy for this?
As of now, I have to go into the bluetooth settings of the one I don't want to use and deselect media/phone, then go to the other and select media/phone. And even sometimes this takes multiple times to work.
My previous phone (gs7) had no issues swapping from the two.
Hi,
Did you get a solution ? I face the same problem and can't find any solution...
Just to clarify, when you are in your car and want to connect to it, the headphones are turned off, correct?
Having similar issues... Every time I try to connect to my car (stock Subaru WRX), I have to manually connect and it takes several attempts before it connects. Once it connects it usually doesn't drop though. Very frustrating...
Another poster resorted to getting a whole new head unit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/help/sony-xav-ax100-bluetooth-issues-t3634940

It's not in my car but with the bluetooth device of my motorcycle helmet. The reference is ncom bluetooth kit 3. I have to connect it manually and it takes several attempts before it connects. Sometimes it doesn't connect at all....
I have 2 headset Plantronics Backbeat Pro and Plantronics Backbeat Fit. They both work flawlessly
My Huawei Watch also works.
But my Nokia 616 Car kit wont connect at all.
And my motorcycle hemlet bluetooth kit, Cardo scala rider PACKTALK, connects, but the audio is slowed down to about 80 percent?
Same thing here.
I have been facing problems with a Sony SBH52 Headset and with my Opel Corsa E, stock infotainment system.
It gives me a hard time connecting but when it does it's stable.
I had the same with my gen 1 Moto 360 but after a factory reset to the watch and a reboot it's stable.

Ahem, I seem to be unable to find bluetooth in my app settings. Can you please give me a hint?
It's been driving me crazy these days with my SBH-52 and I want to try this too.
Thanks!
P.S.
I'll also give it a shot with a plantronics pro headset I have to see if it does the same.
Bluetooth profiles implementations, even though they passed certification, are not always made equal! So don't end up pulling your hair if a certain BT device doesn't play nice with another.
Just as an example... Head Unit X had big issues with the initial contacts sync, right after pairing with Samsung phones (already known to sometimes play around some other standards). It would only work after several reconnects. After several weeks of debugging (poor development guys) and reproduction test (poor testing guys) it was concluded that it is a phone issue caused by some wrong timing delays in the process of exchanging information between the HU and the phone. Samsung was informed and the ticket was internally closed.
I have similar problem with Bluetooth Earbuds. Phone simple doesn't "see" the Earbuds. But strange - it can see other Bluetooth devices and other devices can see Earbuds.
I'm sure this is a OnePlus 5 software problem.
Version OxygenOS 4.5.10
i have somhow issue as urs, i have Bluetooth pad lock and android watch, it sometimes connected and sometimes not, i do believe its software issue, im on 4.5.11
Yes, it is strange. After some restarts and on/offs connection suddenly appears

Pie update broke bluetooth

Hi, after update to pie (january 8), mi phone keep droping connection whit my smartwatch (garmin tactix bravo), cannot connect with bluetooth speakers( always need reboot), and when get connection the volume its very low.
Someone has this problems? im waiting for a quick update with solutions...... a smartphone without bluetooth really sucks.
Same here with Fenix 5. Keep dropping connection but Connect restores it. Notifications are broken, only sync with connect is preety ok. For sure its something with battery guard or maybe this Pie's smart battery.
BTW i turned off battery optimization for Garmin Connect - no changes

I have a Fenix 5, too. Same exact symptops. I additionally tried to:
* disconnect/reconnect bluetooth,
* use Device Connection Aid setting in Garmin Connect app,
* remove all stored paired devices in my Bluetooth and re-pair (not repair, but pair again),
* reboot phone and watch,
* grant all Garmin Connect app permissions, including advanced ones,
* erase cache and storage of Garmin Connect app and
* reinstall Garmin Connect app
with no avail. The symptoms you describe are unvaried.

Yeah , if u want , try Los 16 , PE latest, CrDroid latest , They are stable , battery backup and performance is really good.
I have same issue with Fenix 3HR and Pie on Mi A1.
From what I saw on Garmin forum, it seems to be a broader issue with Pie, not just something with Mi A1, so Google/Garmin need to come with real fix for this.
I tried the suggested workaround, but I still get intermittent disconnections of Bluetooth which lead to watch's battery depleting too quickly.
Only thing that helped for me is switch from a CIQ watch-face to built-in watch face, and then battery drains a bit slower, but still faster than before Pie.
Try it: https://forums.garmin.com/forum/int...ile-android/1389025-android-pie-problem/page3
Important is to make bluetooth pin entered directly on Connect App, not in system. Follow the steps, it works.

For me, Connect App had message: check for notification to accept pairing (or something like that), so it forces me to input the PIN there....
Because you dont read post carefully. While you have connected your Garmin to Connect App (which is disconnecting all the Time) - go to System->reset option->reset wifi cell bluetooth and do the reset. Now go back to Connect, now it should prompt to enter pin, if not - turn on pairing Mode on your Garmin. Dont pair it with system, only with Connect.

I thought I had read carefully, but did not understand the post like you explained it. I had done the 2nd reset of Wifi/Bluetooth before completing the first pairing, and in that case it never prompts for the PIN in the app.
With your explanation, I've now been able to enter the PIN in the app, I'll see if connection is now stable.
Thanks for clarifying.

I have been using it for weeks and its really stable. On the other hand I have never seen that problem on any custom Pie's ROM.
Hopefully next update will permanently fix that.

I confirm it seems ok now, Watch Battery is back to normal, even with a CIQ watchface.
This said, this is not a pure Xiaomi issue, the thread on Garmin Forums clearly mentions at least Nokia and OnePlus too...
Not sure if it's a pure Pie issue, or if this can be linked to OEMs killing too much background processes... https://dontkillmyapp.com/
I have a problem with my car stereo unit, after PIE update I have to re-pair my phone and the car every single time. Tried to clear Bluetooth memory on the stereo without success.
The strange thing is that if I enable "Battery Saver" on the phone, the connection seems to run fine!
Same problem but with AirPods
