Looking for an app...

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a small, simple app that can tell me what my current CPU clock speed, total accessible ram, etc, things like that are.
I'm currently on CM 5.0.2.
Any suggestions? Thanks

[Q] Bloated RAM. What is really a OK for sgs5?

I think ram is totally bloated with stuff, I mean.. 200-500(max)megabytes of free ram at normal use!?
I have 2gigabytes of ram. And standard system resources take like everything.
I run alliance ROM without all samsung and google bloat and still the ram is just eaten up by what?
I have disabled countless apps and services too that I don't want running. I have even gone in deep into services and disabled parts of them that is not needed with the old system tuner app.
A lot of appz is blocked from even startup on my system and I never leave anything running in background in applist...
How come android system eats so goddamn much ram? Should this systems not be light weight?
My Bloated windows 7 system does not even take so much.
Please explain why this ram occupation is necessary and what I can do about it.
I would like to debloat my system even more and free up as much resources as possible..
Will this minimal extremely debloated ~500mb ROM's solve this issue?
What good is ram if its not being used? i dont understand this obsession with needing as much free ram as possible the more memory used for cache the better.
Id be more worried if 50% was free.
Do you use any task killer cleaner or antivirus?
But donĀ“t worry. Android its not a windows. Android has Low Memory Killer and use it when is it necesary
Almost full RAM = good RAM

how to check weather a rom has good ram optimisation or not

Currently i am using ressurection remix which is pretty good but after closing a app the ram remain still occupied and doesn't become like it was before opening that app. please tell me which rom has best ram optimisaton
and for what you need free ram? If system or app needs more ram it will free it by himself, if you want install greenify and greenify apps, but for sure you don't need a lot of free ram.

sometimes, even you close an app, part of it stay in memory for future use of this app, sometimes *system* ram usage increases throught your using of phone, sometimes other apps increease usage too
Thanks. And please tell me how to judge a ROM weather it has a good ram management or not

I havent seen a rom with a really bad ram management here for our Bacon all the ROMs are based on one of the 2 'sources' we have. I wouldn't worry too much about it just enjoy the great roms

If there's memory leak in the source, it will be there in all the derived ROMs. But you need not worry about it. Sources are quite stable and memory management must be equally good.
However, it can be a bit different on suppose an AOSP based ROM vs a LineageOS based ROM. This is also very kernel dependent. You should try them out yourself and see! Good luck.

best way to use the extra RAM

Hi all....
considering the OP5 has a lot of fast RAM (8gb in the 128 version), what would be the best way to make the most out of it? For example, do you think it would be possible that custom ROMs can cache in RAM the launcher and running widgets? or stuff like this that would speed up even more the user experience?
I would be very happy to concede 2 or 3GB of RAM to be allocated specially for stuff like this... what do you guys think?
Thanks,
Chale
I think OP is calling it App Priority?

We are discussing a RAM drive over here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/development/8-gb-ram-creating-ram-drive-t3625584 :good:

Need suggestions!!

Hello guys,am planning to buy the Asus zenfone max pro m2(4/64 variant).
Should I go for it?I have read various comments on YouTube saying that the mobile consumes a lot of ram and also battery drains too fast etc.
So,I want suggestions from you people.. Also can anyone please tell me how much ram is free in 4gb Variant.?
Thanks
I don't understand all free RAM obsession, RAM is meant to be used and to my knowledge, 80% of available RAM will be occupied. That unless you restrict background running for most apps. Alternatively, you can easily clear recent apps on regular basis. Or better yet, use Naptime or similar apps to apply Doze more aggresively. I use realme 2 pro which natively applying aggresive RAM cleanups and I'm not happy with that. I don't have any issues with Max Pro 2 battery. When it comes to android, you have more control of it. It isn't perfect in any sense but that's what makes it challenging and interesting.
There is no issues like that. They must be comparing it to redmi or realme phones which use aggressive ram management. They even provide tools to clear and kill recent apps in the skin itself. In my opinion this affects the seamless multi-tasking capability of the phone. Why buy a phone with 4gb of ram if you can't use it?!!

More the RAM is being used more seamless experience you gonna get, Free RAM does nothing in phone but occupied RAM does help out with quick and snappier feel of the phone. You can free the RAM but that won't help you anyway, when android wanna load something in the RAM which is filled it removes allocation of memory to less prioritised stuffs and this process repeats all over when you open different Apps. When an app is already there in RAM it's faster to switch/open that app !

Yes exactly, redmi and realme phones comes with custom ui which causes the unnecessary ram usage.
