LG Spirit "Firmware Update Virus"? - LG Spirit Questions & Answers

I don't know how to fix this ie ......... Both My Samsung and LG Spirit received this message "Firmware Update do not disconnect usb connection" I have had my LG Spirit Plugged in vai it's charger for 2 days the only thing that has changed is that I now see the LG Boot Screen but that's it .
I plugged it into my desktop and it gave me the message "your blah blah blah is now ready to use yet when I right clicked on the device it gave me nothing not one file or folder could be found to click on not even the option to scan it was available.
Now me I do not trust Corporations in total and I find this suspicious as well as downright confusing that this is happened to two of my mobile phones and unable to find a redress for this problem be it "Malware" a Virus or "Whatever" yet I have noticed I am not the only one having this problem.
So I would appreciate any and all "Positive" "Constructive" help or pointers to a "Real Remedy" if there is one of course.
I wouldn't put it past any "Corporate Entity" being responsible in some way or other in an effort to make olde mobiles unusable for use after a certain time span 'Remember their for profit organizations and NOT our Friends"
Thanks for your time

Thank you for your quick response "mayankjet"' The "Firmware Update" has not happened yet it is still stuck on the Message as shown in the attachment .
No folders are showing up when I connect to my desktop. as stated my Samsung Note4 no longer works due to this "Firmware Update" so I can only assume it is either Malware or a virus.
Sorry I am unable to attach the photo I took of the message via my new mobile. It basically reads Firmware update do not unplug the usb connection until the process is complete it is still on 0% and the phone has been plugged in for over two days now.
Allister.

Possible Kin 2 update being pushed!

So I was in Verizon today because of software issues. I still have the same phone but all they could say is pull the battery every night. So the lady tells me, my software is behind. I'm like "what, how?" She says "Its a known issue and an update has been pushed for the phone. Depending on when you got the phone, the new software will be pushed through." Apparently, thousands of people have gotten this "Update" I will call this week and see what the deal is.
Update like version 1.02?
not to sure..it was some lady which means she probably has no clue what the hell she's talking about so just sit and wait for a text from verizon wireless or the "Uploading Logs" screen. She said it will either be pushed OTA (over the air) or you will get a notice saying to bring your phone in which I think wont happen. 0lus the software has been released since April 1st so I'm guessing this is a load of bull.
Well, I had my phone turned off all day while i was out. I got back home, turned it on, and got a text from 475-6. It says BREW://----- idk what it said. Im guessing the update? not to sure. Phone info says..
Software Version: 1.0.1 (4704.0)
Radio firmware: v0.4.727
Model 119

Hmm I did abit of research about BREW. It's actually,Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless.
Brew (Brew MP) is an application development platform created by Qualcomm, originally for CDMA mobile phones.
As a software platform that can download and run small programs for playing games, sending messages, and sharing photos, the main advantage of Brew MP is that the application developers can easily port their applications among all Brew MP devices. Brew MP acts between the application and the wireless device on-chip operating system in order to allow programmers to develop applications without needing to code for system interface or understand wireless applications.

Hmm... Hack via brew?
My phone software is the same as yours (1.0.1, etc...). I haven't received a text like that though. Did you follow the link in the text? I would be nervous clicking it unless I knew it was really from Verizon.
It's not a link at all. It usually says
"BREW:06:07---YADA YADA YADA."
(Just making up numbers but you get the point.)
Actually you cannot "hack" using brew. The brew message is sent over a wireless network. Unless you want to hack the network, go right on ahead
I think these messages are for the "Developmental" process of the phone since it originally had the "KIN" software. Not this "M" Bullsh*t
I'll do some research. I have time freeing up on me now since I'm getting school work done quicker. I will try to develop some sort of application to "Pull out" the information we need. If this is to techy for you, just put it this way. "I'll try to hack the phone" I've had a lot of success in hacking phone WITHOUT turning to the source of the internet/Bitpim. Technology is one of the things I know most about. I'm 15 and all I do is look for ways to hack. So far successful. As for this KIN 2m, not so much. So I turned to this forum so I could get some tips for stuff that i might not have done yet. Well, for today, I have nothing.

As a matter of fact, i found it opposite to techy, better said "abstract". Can you explain in detail the Pull out attempt process?
I just wanna know, can handle tech terms.
Okay..well heres how it goes. We have to somehow get the kin into a "hidden" software writing screen(you should know what i mean) EVERY phone has one of these...AKA...enV touch..you hold clear..power..vol up and down and that brings the phone to a downloading screen and waits to be plugged into the drivers on the computer. But the kin is different...there arent any drivers as of right now.
Kin has that mode, indeed. It was labeled as "Download mode" both in QPST, Bitpim and several other tools.
Unfortunately, being switched ON by software (i guess that's the only way, or the only one available atm) made my phone reboot after a little while (maybe 1-2 mins), so it could be protected by the phone manufacturer. Also, no special effect was shown on screen, like you can see on other phones examples (with SERIAL and USB labels with a colours background).
On the other hand, QPST and other tools could get a backup of the NVitems on memory, and not the memory itself (they fail to). Messing with this made my last attempt a brick, so... not happy about them.
Hmm... MY Kin Came with 1.01
1.01 is the latest version.

Dead i9505

Guys, Need your help. You are my last hope !
Just bought an i9505 to a guy, via internet... I know it's risky... The guy was saying the phone got stuck after he had a power cut (his PC shut down) during a Kies update., but that the phone was able to go to download mode.
So I thought it would be easy to flash.
The bad surprise was when I received the phone : nothing happens, no sign of life. No sign when pluging the charger, no sign when trying to boot whatever mode I select, no vibration, no sound, no nothing... I even tried a Jig USB dongle that I had purchased a few years ago for my i9000 : nothing.
I contacted the seller who pretends I broke it as he checked again the download mode before sending me the phone.
I tend to believe he is saying the truth as he could simply have not responded.
Is there any experiment I should do ? I read that getting the battery off and pressing Power for 30 sec might help... Did not work either...
Any other ideas ???
Thanks
Edit: oops sorry, this thread should have been created in the "Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting" section... Moderator... could you please move it there ? Sorry...

Plug it in to the wall charger for a while and see if any thing happens, I've had a battery dead flat before and it took a couple of minutes before it started charging.

Thanks ph0n3n3rd. Trying right now, but not real hope as I have another S4 with a fully charged battery which I already tried with no success.
I also have tried charging the original battery for hours today both from my laptop and from and external battery (branded Anker) which usually charges even faster than the wall charger...
Also one of the first things I tried when I received the phone without being able to boot it was to try the other way : the new phone's battery in the old S4. And it booted. The new phone's battery was about 40%...

Hi GDReaper, thanks for the link. I had actually seen it yesterday. I have installed (this was not easy as I was getting an error when try to install the .inf files) the QHUSB drivers... in the hope that this would help the PC not only recognize, but detect (!) the phone. Indeed the phone is not even detected by windows : no sound, no "drivver installation message", nothing that I can see in the Device Manager. And the phone too does not show any sign of connection to the PC...
THe guy who sold me this phone keeps telling me he could go to download mode just before sending it to me. He is even getting pissed off and pretends i'm a liar...

Unless it somehow got damaged during transport, then he is the one who is most probably lying.
You will have to take it in for service if you can't get a refund. I doubt it can be fixed without any specialized equipment.

Hi bes1de, thanks. I can only find this one : http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f777/hot-hot-easy-repair-boot-samsung-s4-i9500-via-sd-card-1693343/ for now but this is for i9500.
BTW... I realize the phone does not seem to be an i9505 but an i9515 ! I got confused because of this : View attachment 3654348
As you can see, the sticker shows i9515 but the "housing" is i9505...
The SIM card reader also shows i9505 : View attachment 3654337
And... the charge flex cable shows i9500 (yet another S4 model !) : View attachment 3654338
Do you think Samsung uses parts from different phones like that ? Or that the seller kind of rebuilt a "phone" from various parts found here and there ?
I'd like to be able to test the parts of this dead phone to see if I can sell it as parts.
I was thinking to tear down my own personal S4 (i9505 perfectly working) and use its motherboard to test the dead phone's screen.
I read that the LCD is different...
Do you think I might break my i9505 motherboard trying to connect it to the i9515 display ?...
Edit: OK I did it ! Installed my personal S4 motherboard into the dead one in order to check the display, the buttons (incl. touch ones) and the USB/charge port : all is fine. The PC detects ad recognizes it, so the USB connector and its flex cable are fine.
I could now swap the cameras, the proximity sensor, the SIM and SDcard readers and see if they are OK...
Edit 2: Loud speaker works fine too.
Thanks and regards !

Edit: Anyone used the SBoot clip here ?
As far as I understand it only works with Exynos phones, so not for my i9515. Any information about that ?
Thanks

Motorola Sent Me Back a Dead Phone

Ok so I'm a little annoyed here with how shotty the repair center at Motorola is. I sent my girlfriends phone in about a week ago, due to the speaker going bad. We got it about 5 months ago, so it should be well within the warranty repair window so we sent it off for an RMA fix. Well we got it back today and they denied repairs on the device due to "water damage" even though the sticker shows no water damage to the phone, and they already opened the thing up and messed around inside. The main issue now is that the phone will not turn on at all. I've left in on the charger for a few hours, tried plugging it into my PC to see if it can be recognized, and nothing. I can also see that the phone was opened up, because the backing is peeling up The first time I plugged it in, it showed the "installing new device drivers" window, but after it did that for about 5 minutes there was nothing. I also installed the official Motorola drivers and if I plug it in, my PC detects a device but it just says "USB device not recognized" and that's it.
Am I SOL in this situation? I feel like if I were to send it back or contact Moto, they won't do a thing since they claimed it's "water damaged" but the thing is, when I sent it in the phone was working fine. It was able to turn on, charge and function apart from the blown speaker. Any advice? Or should I just never go Moto again...
I've attached the water damage marker as well, caution as the image is huge.

Quick update. When I plug the phone in now, I can see it in device manager as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" so it seems they just decided to send me back a bricked phone as an extra "f**k you" for being a customer.
You need to contact them and give them hell regardless.
I would just do another warranty exchange tell them the phone won't turn on after receiving it back from them

It's been a few days and no updates, it seems that they just stick to their own and listen to that their "service team" says without question. Of course the support line seems to be outsourced, so my questions are literally just the same replies over and over about company policies and procedures.
Never again will I buy a Motorola phone if this is how their support and repair center is.
Try to escalate the problem to the higher level. Try to post on Moto g+ or facebook page as well to get more attention. Customer service, especially outsourced, usually is completely useless. And people over there don't really have knowledge and/or power to help you.

Please Help! Note4 (SM-N910P) Messed Up by 6.0.1 MM update!

I am a cancer survivor, trying to rebuild my career after 3 yrs in hospital and 7 months in intensive care ( I was NOT expected to live had last rites read 3 times)
I, now back and trying to get real work going, was making my Proposal and new Graphics and VR Scenes, and was just about to apply for funding for my VR Startup (focused on creating Teaching and Training Tools Ironically) and suddenly, my ONLY WAY TO VIEW MY WORK my Note 4 has gone to pot! The thing never worked right after the 6.0.1 update, I may have over filled the internal chip too and that was the last straw,..
Symptoms:
1) It Reboots over and Over,.
2) When I go into recovery boot mode, it 1st shows Android guy and says 'Installing Updates' then into boot menu
3) Whenever I boot I see it saying 'FINALIZING UPDATES' then second window pops up 'Updates Installed Successfully' This should not happen every time I boot.
4) Will take forever then NOT Boot at All, I have to take battery out for 1+ minutes then it will boot
I have gone to EVERY Conceivable Website, (I have been trying to fix it for 8 days 16-18 hours a day and pot after pot of coffee tearing my hair out, My entire career rests on the line right now. Took me over 3 days of non stop Rebooting trying to get into Developer mode and turn on USB Debugging. Allow Unknown Sources and Delete Caches. All thing that 1 of the 30 Youtube and WWW AndroidFLASHING Step by Step videos and webpages I have completed repeatedly all to no avail (ODIN ALWAY FAILS< I TRIED EVERY SINGLE RELEASE OF ODIN 'FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL'. The info out there is so sparse and inadequate, the 'EASY STEP by STEP sites send one to to SITES LIKE THIS: https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-N910P/ I suppose I am to GUESS which of the 20 files WON'T BRICK MY PRECIOUS WORK TOOL.. Which one for my NOTE 4 SM-N910P???
and send me to sites like this: http://odindownload.com/Samsung-Odin/#.WKq-728rKOk I suppose I'm to GUESS which of the 8 versions WON'T BRICk MY PRECIOUS WORK TOOL.
Someone please help! ACTUAL REAL HELP, THE HELP I GET IS always:
"Just go FIND ONE OF THE STEP BY STEP Android FLASHING WEB PAGES." Great,../. Been there done that, 50 times... (and nearly every site)
ODIN Fails Every Time. I see the option for: 'flash from SD card', but there seems to be NO Info out there about that, (sparse at best certainly NONE of the type of info I remember from the 1990's when Step-By-Steps included ALL THE STEPS< and no, language shortcuts, or half terms , or GOD FORBID acronyms the person has to waste time asking about and waiting again for a response...)..)
Somehow I don't think I've bricked my phone, in all this 'trial and error' step by step garbage,.. It will still boot into the 'factory reset I did 8 days ago,. (still reboots spontaneously within a few moments) , uses battery too fast, all the bad stuff mentioned by the HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE online about what happened to their Note 4 when MarshMallow 6.0.1 came out,.. I wish I could go back to 5.1.1 but 5 days trying tell me that will not happen. (of course simply REFLASHING 6.0.1 to try to get a perfect copy hasn't worked either,.. Anyways, like all online info, the info about ODIN is so sparse and incomplete I am essentially GUESSING and doing Trail and Error, (there are FOUR sometimes 5 slots in Odin whee you can link to an MD5 file (?) or etc.. and I have yet to find a page that mentions WHAT the Categories are, (they say : BL, AP, CP, CSC, UMS,. Means nothing to me and I after over a week haven't found anything actually helpful..
I am an Animator and CGI Artist that worked in Hollywood for 20+_ years, if you need an Animated LOG or a VR Advertisement for your service, you help me get back up and running I will create you a Logo, or Animated Character Avatar or Environment and Advertisement in a Virtual Reality Video for upload to Youtube VR and Facebook VR,..? Scratch my back get back scratched! I am also a Orchestral Composer and recording Artist I can make you a custom score piece, Page opening, or? , or music for your Youtube page etc, I can sound like a Full Orchestra so realistic you will think its the real deal! .
SORRY if I sound upset or frustrated, ( I am,) My life is breaking and my career is dying right before my eyes, I can NOT afford a new VR device of any kind, I was trying to GET FUNDING - though this week introduced by the dam bad or corrupt update has probably made my funding impossible, that was the time I had to work... but I have to keep trying anyways ;~) PLEASE HELP! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
EDIT: I found out one thing here at XDA so far!
"They are they same except for csc settings.
SPR will give you sprint branding and csc.
XAS will give you regular samsung branding. "
COOL, THANKS XDA< I hate Anything to do with Sprint, I use my Note 4 for developing VR ONLY in the new 2016 Gear VR - I'm one step closer I sense,.. ;~)
update 2:
i BOOTED MY PHONE TO TRY TOP TAKE THE NEXT STEP (THAT I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER NOW IT'S GOTTEN SO CRAZY) ooops caps, and it took up the whole screen with:
"UPDATE AVAILABLE: Download and Install" I about jumped up and down happy thinking, surely they noticed the the 6.0.1 update nearly destroyed the Note 4's (and if not the hundreds of people complaining about it online should have told them) UNFORTUNATELY< it crashed halfway through, I re-booted it finished downloading, I finally clicked APPLY NOW, it seemed to do all the usual stuff and turned it self off, then 'UPDATING Android'
It got to 25% and DIED> (Literally there is the 'DEAD ANDROID with ERROR underneath it'
Whoever makes these updates must have hired that programmer that sent out the Windows NT Death By UPDATE LOOP mistake a decade or so back,. . Well, that's it. I can't do the HOME+Volume up+Power trick anymore, in order to have any control,. the HOME+Volume Down+Power still brings me to the download screen, but as 8 days of frustration tells me that is a useless setting and the whole ODIN thing is a joke (perhaps an actual joke by some hackers or something)/// Even if ODIN DID Work, I am unable to get any of the files i need, I get 'network errors' on downloading the Flash File from https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-N910P/ It will NOT DOWNLOAD< I have tried every day for days,.. (If anyone knows of a source for the file (s) I Need for ODIN and a SM-N910P that doesn't want to Charge $ to download, (or take forever then cancel out). I would surely appreciate it,. Be nice to at least TRY the binary that is supposed to be the 'correct' file,..
Though I think I am beating a dead horse. I am afraid of myself tonight, I want relief, I want peace and this damn stress to go away,.. I want to end it so badly now, I see no future, no hope, nothing good will ever happen again in my life and I cant even see the Virtual Worlds I create,. There finally, Truly is no reason to continue.
THANKS SAMSUNG FOR DESTROYING MY TOOL AND MY ART AND MY WORK AND MY FUTURE.
and my LIFE.
Robert
just found this thread. so.. are you ok? have you solved this?

Difficulties w/ BLU C5L

I realize the BLU C5L is a very inexpensive (meaning cheap) phone and I'm not expecting some 'miracle cure to make it the latest, greatest phone ever". I'm having a number of issues w/ this phone and feel that re-flashing may/should be the answer(?) Right now ,#1. I can't even get WIN 10 to recognize the phone so that I could flash it. #2. read that phone needed to be rooted before flashing and I've tried 3 different programs and all get to 78 -83% and quit saying phone can't be rooted.(???) I've made sure I have USB debugging, 3rd party apps checked, and MTP checked. Oh, that's another thing, MTP will NOT stay on...upon sleep, shutdown or comp to phone disconnect, it always reverts to PTP. C'mon, is Android 8.1 GO that difficult? Sure would appreciate some "know-how" concerning this phone. THANX
Addendum: Just tried KingRoot (again) and it and said " too many phones connected select only one device" Yea, well...had only one???? got that solved and next: "KingRoot says failed to obtain root permission" C'mon...it can't be that difficult on such a cheap phone??? ANYONE....what the hell is going on? Hope to hear from someone who knows about this phone and what I need to do to get it rooted/re-flashed. THANX
RICK
