Clarity/resolution - LG G7 ThinQ Real Life Review

The LG G7 ThinQ has a crazy crisp display. Just kidding, this is automated text so who knows if this screen is any good. So, you be the judge! A higher rating indicates that it's extremely sharp and clear, and that you cannot see pixels with your naked eye.

The 3120X1440 display shows almost 4K like clarity. Could be the 2nd best display after Super AMOLED. Also very easy/pleasant to the eye, that made me prefer G7's gorgeous display over Galaxy S9's display.

I wonder if the screen on the iPhone XR is related to the LG G7? Seems like similar technology, but dumbed down on the iPhone.

is this display too cold? bluesih?

Lots of available adjustments if too cold/blue for your tastes.
Go to Settings/Display/Comfort View to remove any excess blue light. Also, under Settings/Display/Screen Color/Color Temperature you can make the appearance cooler or warmer.

It seems a little soft to me
It's great for me and it's clear,my G6 plus

How about the contrast?
I had all amoled displays on my phones until my Nexus 5X, which is a bit unfair to compare to an amoled, but with that in mind it still has horrible contrast. Blacks are very grey. I've seen IPS panels that looked a lot better than the 5X does. I the G6 panel any better?
The screen is just fine. My last phone had an OLED screen, and while the colors were nice and vibrant, the screen ended up looking horrible after a year. You could clearly still see where the navigation bar was after it was hidden because it was normally always black, so those pixels won't degrade as quickly as the rest of the screen. So while the rest of the screen was dimmed, the bottom of the my screen looked almost brand new. So, I'm sticking with LCD for now.
So far, the screen is just fantastic! Extremely vibrant and has a very decent contrast with adjustable color temperatures if you want to fine tune. Only downside is that in direct very bright sunlight it is not as easy to view.

Good overall, but what is with the rounded corners? They are distracting, and once you notice them, you can not un-notice that there is screen missing in each corner. I had to go to a black wallpaper so that it wouldn't drive me crazy.
I'd describe it as average. Colours are good but resolution is too low with a PenTile screen, as text looks quite blurry. It's roughly equivalent to a 720p LCD in terms of sharpness.

I find the screen is much sharper compared to my note 9 and tab s6.
You can see the finer details in the video and textures, but this due to the higher resolution and calibrated screens.
I don't believe the ultravision engine works with everything just select few apps in my opinion as it did not make a difference.

When this came out had the best display on any phone. 1bn colors, stupid bright especially watching HDR blueray movies. 120hz and high resolution + high touch response. Top specs!!

somehow the first OLED phone I've had, 120hz is hella nice, color and brightness good, gets very dark for late night bed use
I was worried about dropping from a wqhd screen to this initially. took about 2 seconds to put my fears to rest. Big bright beautiful screen, super smooth - I'm so glad I went with this over anything else.
In terms of clarity, looks great, no complaints. In other areas of the screen in the other hand...

I cannot notice any pixels, so the 720p-ness of the display is not a problem for me. I doubt that anyone except the most eagle-eyed would notice the difference between 720p, 1080p, 1440p and 4k.
For normal people like you and me, it is definitely good enough.
Note: I definitely notice some less clarity and less brightness near the hole punch (why, Motorola, why? A teardrop notch was good enough for me.)
You can get used to it given enough time, though.
