Need help flashing/hard reset defective P8 Lite

Hi,
I bought a water damaged P8 Lite for repair/parts that I was able to bring back to life.
However, volume up key is not working, and phone has a password on it.
I tried a different set of buttons but the problem is in the board.
Consequently I can't boot recovery mode and hard reset the phone.. Is there any other solution to solve this and use this board?
Thanks.
Use fastboot to flash a new firmware....this should work

Well, since you bought water defective P8 Lite, i guess you're having problem on the board (or at least with hardware), and if that's the case then it is better to change the hardware.
But, you can also once try flashing new firmware via fastboot method. Remember flashing requires your bootloader to be unlocked, so make sure it is..
The Process??
Enable Developers Option and USB debugging (assuming that you can switch it on)
Connect your mobile to laptop/computer.
Make sure you have Minimal ADB and Fastboot Installed. Download link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
Commands:
adb devices ---- will show your serial number if its enabled
adb reboot bootloader --- will show your bootloader status (if it's green then you can flash files)

hisuite is pretty much useless.
yeah.. I was able to enter fastboot&rescue mode with hisuite but from there i can't recover anything..
Is there any flasher that allows me to flash phone via rescue mode?
Thanks.
Hey, I might have something here, in rescue mode adb doesn't see any devices but using "fastboot devices" i get "QLF7N15615001024"
Can I work with this?
Thanks.
Just read before posting. Since you can enter fastboot just go ahead and download a fastboot flashable firmware from the various threads in this subforum or extract the images from the update.app you want to flash using huawei image extractor.

Had the same problem going back to Stock from LineageOS... Did you clear the System too? Back then, in order to install LineageOS, you'd have to clear the System too... And then flash the LineageOS...
So for reverting back, do the same... Wipe the System and then log in to fastboot mode and then flash the 4 Images extracted from the Huawei Update Extractor... If by any means, you could not go into fastboot mode, then connect your phone to your laptop by holding the volume down key, this should boot into the fastboot mode...
Good luck..

You are in Diagnostics mode, it's pretty useless, you need to enter in EDL Mode and try a flash with MiFlashTool
Use "fastboot oem edl"
I don't know if your phone can receive fastboot commands in Diagnostics, just try...

What about keeping power and volume +/- pressed together for at least 10 seconds?
Too, connect the charger, maybe the battery is drained.
At least try these simple things before moving to complicated ones.

Another thing to try is this, connect your phone with your computer and run
adb reboot edl
You will not see anything in your phone, just black screen.
Open miflash tool and hit refresh. See if it recognizes the phone.

At least mi flash is recognizing the phone.
You can try with a different firmware, try with android 7 firmware.
P.s. now that I see better your phone is recognized as Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 900E, it should be 9008
You should try to find the correct Qualcomm drivers...
I'm sorry you have to go through this.

Huawei Logo Bootloop cannot enter fastboot mode or Vol Up+pwr

This phone is given: IMEI.info: BAC-L21 Nova 2 Plus (VNS-L21). No Recovery, no OS, no fastboot. Volume dwn + pwr doesn't work, restarts, but only the Huawei logo comes in. The battery was drained so I couldn't put it into fastboot mode (no cable or cable). FRP Unlocked, Bootloader Locked. I have no idea about the previous system, this phone was brought to me to look at it. I am completely disoriented after a night's suffering. Any idea or new motherboard?

Hello, wrong thread dude,
you should look for the huawei nova 2 plus thread.
BAC-L21 is not VNS-L21...

No, this is a p9 lite, but for some reason the IMEI number is not stimmering ... But since then, a little soldering, a little EDL mode and a small Linux reset helped ... Well the DC Phoenix subscription. Now fastboot comes in, I haven't tried to install it yet, I got tired ...

reinstallation was successful, I had to solder the motherboard, then with DC Phoenix I was able to lure the fastboot mode. Now everything is working well.

Thanks! If my time allows, I'll write a larger description of how I brought it together. Some people will definitely take advantage of it once ready.
