How to mute Nokia Start Up Tune? - Nokia 5 Questions & Answers

Hi All,
Recently purchased a Nokia 5.
There is a Nokia start up tune. I want to mute/disable this. It is very annoying. Is there a work around? Due to work reasons, l have to turn off my mobile and restart it several times a day. In a work/office environment, it is embarrassing when l reboot.
Have tried apps (Silent Boot - doesn't seem to work), DND/Mute on restart - doesn't work.
Anybody have any tips?

Got an email back from Nokia....
Thank you for contacting Nokia Mobile Care! We are sorry for the inconvenience that you are facing with!
Referring to your inquiry, please kindly note that currently there is no such an option to disable in the Nokia 5 device. We are sorry if this is not convenient to you! If there is any improvement in future, we would like be more than happy to inform you!

Alarm Issue

I've got the stupidest problem which i'm hoping someone can help with.
If I set an alarm for any given time and choose the option to repeat the sound (which I assume should replay the sound over in a loop) it only plays the sound once.
Can anyone point out what I'm doing wrong or is this just an inherent bug in WM6.
(My friend with an O2 XDA + Official O2 Rom has the same problem)
Thanks in advance
The built in alarm functions in WM have always been terrible.
For as far back as I can remember they have never worked right and Microsoft doesn't give a crap about fixing it.
I have been using SPB Time lately and it works perfectly. I highly suggest trying out this program.
Cheers mate ... i think i came across that prog earlier today. Will give it a try

wm6.5 - prob with music player and standbymod

Hi!
yesterday i flashed my rom to new original Topaz_HTC_WWE_EastEurope_2.16.479.1 Windows Mobile 6.5.
Before it i havent that problem. (original rom with 6.1wm)
I'm using default htc player, which is in menu. When i switch it to stand-by mod by upper button it wont play next song in list. It just switch it to next one, but it doesnt play it. Just stop.
I tried "re-flash" it again, but still the same.
Can someone help me? I dont want to feed lcd display from battery during mp3 listening.
Hey,
I dont think its a problem, HTC have intended for this to happen. I had this happen in 6.1 as well.
I 'think' when you put the phone in standby mode the device stops reading the memory card to save power.
Man.
You have two options use the phones and you can put the device on stand by, that it will continue to play, or if you don´t use phnes just download this little but very usefull app, SCREENTOGGLE.
I use Nitrogen that, in addition to being a good and full finger friendly player, works very well also in standby mode.
add: i just come back from windows road show, i tested there htc touch pro 2 with 6.5wm and it has the same problem... :/
on wm6.1 i havent this problem, sennheisers.. standby.. *lalalala* easy.. :/
It windows mobile 6.1 i never had this problem, used to play with coreplayer in standby and it never used to shut down, along with any other player i tried.
In windows mobile 6.5 if i use any player other than the official htc player it automatically shuts down when i press the standby key. Is there no way to add the other players into the "whitelist" that the htc player is in?
This release has completly crippled music playback, and ofc there are ways around it by using a blank screen but its just something u shouldnt have to do just to be able to perform the simple task of playing music while your phone is in your pocket.
I have the same problem as you along with others
check this topic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=581005
I've already tried every thing
no solution so far
every thing works fine in 6.1
but in 6.5 with any rom the problem occurs
If u reach any solution plz let me know
I have this same problem, using the earphones that came with the phone. I play music and turn the screen off then at the end of the song it stops playing
This is so annoying been as though I now use my phone as my mp3 player
Dear valued HTC customer,
Thank you for contacting our Customer Support Center.
You recently wrote us about an enquiry.
This will happen on the device when you switch the screen to power saving mode yourself. I you let the device switch off by itself however it will continue to play the music.
If these steps have not helped, please let me know by responding using the link provided and I will be happy to check again for you.

Whoever decided this is a good idea should be forced to try and live with having to use this stupid time consuming method!
I mean c'mon! We WAIT for the screen to go off?! This is meant to SAVE battery?! Why not just leave it how it was?!

Android Turning itself off?

Hi Guys,
Since putting Andriod on my mini, it seems when im using it... it works happily, but as soon as lock it. 5minutes later, it will reboot itself. And it will continue to do this every 5mins or so, unless I use it.
Any ideas whats happening? Also great work in getting Android on the Mini.
thanks,
John
Hi!
I had the same problem with Android 2.1. But the phone didn't reboot with Froyo (2.2) from Schlund. You can download it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11376905&postcount=664
Does this also have the WiFi fix by robin?
And thanks for letting me know.
Ah, okay, you also want to have wifi. Unfortunately the wifi fix does not work yet in Schlunds image. I think the a few people are working on this, as the problem is also mentioned in the developers forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=983735. Until the problem is solved you have to stick to Android 2.1 from Cotulla.
Ok, thank you for letting me know. I will watch that other post. Again, many thanks. Least I know this isn't just something on my system.
hey excuse me im new to this but can you please refer me to the link to install android on my htc hd mini please!!! i didnt know this was possible

Welcome!
Android is possible on HTC Hd mini, but a lot of things do not work yet. Installation hints and download mirrors are given in thsi thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952996
Please consider that it's still work in progress! Do not annoy the developers with questions about things which do not work. They are aware of this. However you can play around with android. Enjoy it!
Another one ...
Hi guys!
Here's another experience with HD mini android - with lock into black: I have quite the same issue with 2.2 Froyo (and possibly happened with 2.1 also). I start android, boots it within 1-2 minutes from Kingston 4 GB, no big problems, using it for 1-2 hours, playing, etc. But when I lock it and leave it ... things turns nasty sometimes. I can not wake it up again using the Pwr button as it's meant to be, the device does not respond anymore. I have to take out the battery to restart it again.
That's it. I hope these reported cases are helping the developers.

mx5 serious problem - phone randomly shut's down by itself

First off - I must say that up until yesterday I seriously loved my new Meizu MX5, which I got on . So the phone has been in use for more than 2 months. It has been super responsive in any possible way, without annoyingly long lag's inbetween my touch and the expected result (i.e. all apps/windows opened quickly, everything runs smooth and swift). The best phone by far that I have ever owned. Up until now...
The problem appeared in a very disturbing manner yesterday, when I discovered, that it had shut down itself unnoticed. I managed to boot it up and a little later the phone was shut off again. Then the real trouble started, when the phone did not boot up and shut down in middle of booting. Therefore I had to restart it several times and occasionally it reached the blue-balloon-Flyme-screen with white background and showed me a progress bar with information about apps being optimized. This process also failed to finish successfully.
now my mobile shutdown every days by it self!i search in google and find many person have this problem
please help me!!i dont want mobile turn off randomly , when i play game or calling!
This problem is caused MT67995, all carry MT6795 phones have this problem, WiFi disconnect and so on.

Hi brother. I got this bug too since 22 January 2022 and right now, I just fix it without going to technician or any phone repair. I just discovered this trick by doing searching almost 2 weeks non stop hoping my mi 9T to have sound back. Here the solution. First you power off your phone. Then you wait for 5 minutes . After that you press VOLUME UP + VOLUME DOWN + POWER BUTTON and wait till your phone turn on. After that I hope my trick I just discovered work for you. It works on me and I'm so happy that I fix it on my own by doing research on Google. Give me feedback after you try it brother I hope you understand my English

Been testing this several times now, and surprisingly working all the time. Except for the headphone jack and usb headset. But all good with Bluetooth Headset.
