FullOTA Firmware Flashing Issue - Huawei P10 Lite Questions & Answers

Hey there! I am on my build WAS-LX1AC185B172. its fully stock, unmodified, unrooted , stock recovery and bootloader locked. So i decided to update it to WAS-LX1AC185B181, this firmware is officialy available in my country via OTA, but it weighs 2.35 Gb and my internet connection is week so i was unable to download it via OTA. so instead i downloaded a FULL-OTA firmware from firmware finder app (my friend did it for me). and i want to install it through DLOAD (three buttons method) but its starts and stucks at 5% and throws an error "Update install failed" , I dont know what is going on. Kindly help me how to install this firmware, and also can it be flashed through TWRP. as the Update.zip file seems to be flashable. or is there any other method to do it.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Update from 4.4.2
Hi all,
I'm stuck on 4.4.2 right now, but i want to update to 5.0.
Anyone who can give me a tutorial?
I have no SD card.
Connect to a good wifi, go into settings and there should be an "Software update" option somewhere, if you are on stock rom.
Do this,go to sammobile, download firmware 5.0.1 for your mobile and install with Odin program, that is all .
Yes if can't update from ota, download firmware from sammobile and flash via odin . .
I forgot to mention, that i have rooted my phone using CF-autoroot
It doesnt matter, you can flash your official firmware via Odin whenever you want. Just download the firmware from sammobile.com and flash it. Thats all. In addition if you want to use a custom rom you can choose a 5.x.x version of it and flash it via TWRP recovery. It is your choise.
Okay i've followed THIS tutorial, but now it asks for some root issues.
"Root access possibly lost. Fix?"
"THIS CAN NOT BE UNDONE"
"- No"
"- Yes - fix root (/system/xbin/su)"
I want to keep my root
I am quite stuck untill someone tells me how to keep my root.
I am using CWM.

software update on firmware marshmallow

Hello,
My Note 4 is rooted , emotion nightly with twrp, using stock rom samsung marshmallow
today I received a software update for the marshmallow firmware.
the update is a zip file
I tried to flash the update using twrp, but it failed. As I understood twrp can't flash zip files, only tar
I tried to flash the update using odin, but it failed. is this the same with odin?
maybe I am doing something wrong
is there by any chance a possiblity to flash the update or do I need to install the complete new stock firmware ?
thanks in advance, kind regards, coinco
How did you recieved the update ?
If you downloaded it from sammobile
Then first extract the zip file , if you get an .tar file , only then you can flash it with odin .
You simply cant flash an official update through any unofficial software , so dont try to flash it in custom recovery .
Reporting via N910G.
Thank you, for your answer,
I received the update, through (F) OTA,
so as I understand correctly, it will not be possible to flash the file.
It will be no problem , I will flash the original new firmware.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A SM-T350 Only Boots to Recovery and Not to OS + To Update to Noug

Hello. I have a problem that I flashed the TWRP Recovery (so I could flash the xposed uninstaller, since the xposed framework doesn't work on my armeabi v7a). I was using Flashify to flash it. After I flashed I touched the reboot now button (without knowing that hitting an unofficial reboot button can make my tab on boot to recovery) and booted to the TWRP recovery and flashed the uninstaller. When I hit the Reboot System button, it booted to recovery again! I can boot to download mode, but can't boot the OS!:crying: Can someone help me fix it w/out loosing data? And also, I would like to know if I can update to the latest Android Nougat and have it rooted w/out also loosing data. Please, can someone help me?
UPDATE: I flashed the stock recovery using ODIN and now my tablet is working! :victory: Now, I ONLY need to know how can I update to Nougat without loosing root and data.
If you take the OTA update to nougat you should be able to update your system without losing your data. You may just have to reflash the SuperSU zip through twrp.
Being rooted now, it might not download the OTA update on its own. My tablet when I am on the QD1 MM build, will automatically download the OTA update for use at a later time. In your case you could download the OTA first and then do your rooting.
But I had this same problem under slightly different circumstances.
I used the Widget from the TWRP Manager app to reboot to recovery, and after I used that my Tablet would reboot to recovery and nothing else. I had to reflash the ODIN firmware to fix it.

So, you mean that if I unroot my tablet, then I could get the OTA update from the official samsung server?
Plus, if it's not the case, do you think I can use Flashfire to flash the firmware?

Yes because the OTA Update is only a couple hundred MB versus the 1.3GB size of the ODIN Firmware.
Or you can use the Samsung SmartSwitch PC app to get the official firmware downloaded and installed. But that program will just download the ODIN firmware for you which is over a GB.
Here is a link to the ODIN Firmwares available: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=154234
The build, " T350XXU1CQJ1_T350XAR1CQJ1_XAR.zip" is the Nougat 7.1.1 firmware.

One more question, the OTA detection for some reason it doesn't work. Now, I want to attempt an OTA update using FlashFire and I also selected the Modem firmware (13 MB) and the NON-HLOS.bin firmware (12 MB) and EverRoot enabled to inject SuperSU. Should I flash it like that?

I wouldn't use the ever root option. There is twrp and a supersu zip that can be used for the nougat build.
I'd let it remove root during the update and then re-root afterwards.
Hi, I updated my tablet using Smart Switch. It's working as a charm! Can you send me a link to get the twrp recovery for my tablet with Nougat? Merry Xmas!????

OTA update problem with PRA-LX1C432B198-FULL patch

Hi,
My phone is on B196 fw, rooted, TWRP w/o problem. OTA update B198 just appear as FW update notification. I've flashed back to stock Recovery (B170) and rebooted. When I've tried the OTA B198, phone fails using the 330 MB patch and switches to the download of the FULL version. After downloading the file, I'm getting checksum error every time I try so I can't perform the OTA update. What I'm doing wrong? Do I really need stock Recovery B196 for doing this OTA update?
Thanx in advance for any help.

When i try to factory reset smartphone goes into erecovery and can't download any firmware. The only firmware that i can install is rescue firmware via command prompt. I want to install last firmware but i can't. can you help me?tnx. P.s. After installation of rescue rom , if i try to relock bootloader , i've a bootloop into erecovery and Twrp recovery.
Is bluetooth and everything working OK? Try upgrading through Huawei Firmware Downloader app.
i'll try to use this app... thank you for now

The firmware finder for Huawei is the way to go, that's how I reverted back to the stock rom after I bootlooped

Problem solved with firmware finder, thank you
I also wanted to go back to the stock rom so I flashed the stock recovery and downloaded a stock ROM image (mega.nz/#!qbRyCYiI!G-1ctQEUKj_2ksHS-rU-yWiF8YZyiYSllQBSBbHoC78).
I thought it's signed but when I relocked the bootloader it only showed the eRecovery so I had to unlock the bootloader again and now I can use the ROM and it receives the latest updates.
I want to lock the bootloader because the message before the booting is pretty annoying but I don't know if my ROM is signed or not. Is there a way to check it before relocking the bootloader? Can it be in signed state due to the official updates? Are the firmware finder updates signed?
