No signal drop. Wifi range is pretty good..

WiFi range is pretty good and stable even with weak signal.

No WiFi signal drops yet since launch day

Wi-Fi range it's horrible, where I had no problem to stay on Wi-Fi in my flat with Mi4c, Honor 10 drops connection

It has noticeably worse range than my 5 year old Note 3. My old phone, laptops and iPad have no issues with Wifi downstairs, this thing drops out fairly often.

worst wifi & bt phone ever!!!! While bt connected to MiBand is the wifi useless.. speed drops to 0,01Mbit and 0, then disconnects. When BT is turned off everything is normal. I also tried connecting to other BT devices like speaker, hi-fi sound system, smart watches. Every device was on different places, so each time I was connected to different wifi network. I haven't those problems with Mi 4 C.
f_!#&^(!*@&[email protected]!!&!&!!_cking waste of money

Mine works great on wifi/4g when its conected to my smartwatch.
Do a factory reset, and try again.

My friend your ISP is ****. If upload is more than download then there is a problem on your ISP. Now as i see on your other test it switched server terminals. Well you can not blame your device for that. But say thanks to your ****ty provider

Have you tried turn it off & on again? I must say only LOL LOL LOOOOL.. havent you read my previous posts??? I said I tried that on many places (many ISP)! This is not about the ISP, nor router because I had testet three phones side by side (at home with two different routers) - old crappy Redmi 1s, Mi 4C and this super-fancy Honor 10.. guess which phone is having the slowest connection speed with BT & Wifi enabled
Anyway.. here's nice picture for you with some sh*tty ISP 3Mbit over. 40/40Mbit plan.

I think its a dual problem too hardware+provider, i got 120 download and 110 upload wifi with my provider, as i should on my 500 Mbs plan+router I get even the same results on my y520 laptop on wifi.
As for the bt+wifi, its not normal.
Cant you get a refund?

There is a lot situations why is downlink slower as uplink - eg. QoS set on the router and I can tell you it's not the providers fault in my case. My HTPC on LAN has the top priority for web and it's always above 40/40 on my 40/40 speed plan. Secondly it's 2,4GHz Mikrotik RB wifi and it's crappy during the day when every wifi in the neighbor is active.
A little bit update: I found that when Amazfit Watch app is disconnected from my Huami Amazfit Watch the speed is terrible. Once I connect them together again the speed is okay. Tried also uninstalling Amazfit Watch app and the speed was great. Maybe related to this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/amazfit/amazfit-pace-wifi-problem-phone-t3664805 so I should move there with my problem.

do you have a "book case or flip case "? i wonder if the magnets inside those cases can mess up the radio's..
because they sure as hell mess up the compass.

nope.. rubber Nillkin case

Problem solved?
Bluetooth+Wifi together without any problem?

what's the maximum bandwidth you guys managed to get with this phone? Is it 866mbps or only 433mbps? I can get 866mbps for my LG V30+ phone on my wifi router (Nighthawk X4S) but only can get 433mbps for the Honor 10 phone..

Just got this phone yesterday. I noticed that sending messages in WhatsApp stalled with the little clock icon. At least for 10 seconds or more. It made me investigate. I changed to 4G and messages get sent straight away. So I done the usually rebooted router, device and tried again. Same problems. WiFi test on 200mbit connection 5ghz was giving me 130mbit. My old Nexus 6 gets full speed. 2.4ghz no better, on Nexus 6 I get 130/140mbit, the honour 10 I get a measly 43mbit. The phone obviously has a problem. I've tested other devices and all including my old Galaxy S5 get max speed via WiFi. I do these tests right next to the router. I feel this phone isn't as good as it's made out to be. Yes it's a nice phone, great speed and camera but it for some reason takes ages to send WhatsApp messages and load YouTube videos, something my Nexus 6 never did. Bit disappointed as it's only new yesterday. A factory reset should not be needed at all.
================
A small update to this. I read around that the problems could be related to Bluetooth causing the slow browser load times, Instagram not loading and the problem I had with WhatsApp messages taking ages to go through. Basically I went to Bluetooth scanning settings in settings area and turned it off. I also turned off WiFi scan settings as you only need to scan for WiFi when you know there is WiFi to be picked up. Both I turned off and the different in browsing, loading of apps and WhatsApp are amazing.
Below a screen of the settings turned off. Hope this helps others.

Wifi sucks on touch HD

When I first bought the touch HD I was thinking how good it would be to have this phone while having wifi with the lack of 3g for tmobile in the us, but it turns out that the wifi acutally suck! I have a iPod touch 2g And the wifi works great with blazing speed. I can't seem to detect my wifi at home mean while I'm connected on my wifi with my iPod. I been very disappoint with this phone for simple fact that this phone recieves wifi poorly. Anyone can help me out with this problem would be much appreciated because despite the wifi problem I love the phone cause the 3.8 screen is so damn sexual lol.
I've no such issues!
Try to set wifi power options to performance. Also, Enabling G Mode (with SKTools is one of the ways) helps improve speed.
Thanks for the info but it might be the lack of range of my router cause I have been on my wifi with the phone before but I get disconnected frequently and most the time it doesn't even show up or detect it but I don't have that problem with the iPod. With iPod I seem to get wifi everywhere. I'm starting to believe the iPod is better might sell it and get a iPhone or maybe a hero but don't know if I'm willing to spend 600+ on another phone
Next time put [rant] on the title
My wifi connects well to open, WEP, and WPA connections. I tried numerous access points (at least 30), even 802.11n APs in mixed g mode. It even connects to Apple Airport (802.11g). The connection is stable both on power saving and best performance, but I think I get much better speeds on average with best performance.
Its wifi range is much better than my little HP 613 smartphone, but again worse than my notebook. I get 54Mbit connection with signal quality of about 50% at 10 meters through a wall and then it automatically finds another channel on another AP. It roams (handover) APs better than some Lenovo r61 laptops around!
But I am not satisfied with its speed (even on best performance) - it finishes copying a 700MB file on a 54 Mbit connection in 30-40 minutes using total commander and saving on storage card. That means average speed is around 300-400KB/s - laptop does the same (same AP, same file, same network settings) at 1.6-1.8 MB/s in around 7 minutes.
I also noticed that saving on storage card is slighty faster than into the main memory...

Hmm, are you sure that you don't compare two different situations ? Did you also try connecting to Wifi with your iPod while already being connected with your Blackstone ?
My personal experience shows me that the Touch HD seems to have a better radio than the iPhone 3G. Have you upgraded to the latest Blackstone stock ROM and radio available on the HTC website or XDA Devs ? Whether or not the radio also affects Wifi unfortunately I don't know.
Moreover, use WifiMonster to monitor the strength of the signal, it'll help you discover the best spots for using Wifi. I even receive Wifi signals from the neighbors' houses in my own house (not speaking about appartments), of course that always depends on the room !
BTW I'm pretty sure that a Hero won't solve your problem, it's the same old hardware specs as on the Blackstone.
The Wifi on my device works perfectly and i have had no issues at all with signal or quality. I have had more problems with my ipod than the HTC, are you sure its not the WIFI AP you are trying to connect to? Also are you using stock rom or custom?
I'm using the Energy ROM. I'm assume its my wifi signal its very weak and my touch hd cant seem to detect it. With my ipod i shows up and i can connect to it...will updating the radio make a difference?
I came across a startling discovery the other day regarding the Touch HD wifi. I was also having issues at home with weak wifi signal. I didn’t seem to have this problem with public access hot spots.
I have a Logitech wireless mouse connected to my computer and very rarely turn that computer off. I found that when my computer was off I would get a rock solid connection to my home wifi, but when the computer was on it would drop in and out. I narrowed it down to the wireless mouse was interfering with the Touch HD wifi connection.
I tried all different channels on my router, but as long as the Logitech mouse was plugged it I would get wifi dropouts. But as soon as I unplugged the mouse and the radio dongle, I wouldn’t have any problems with the Touch HD wifi.
I can’t comment if this is your issue, but something might be interfering in the 2.4Ghz with wifi.
Guys,
Sometimes even cordless phones, microwaves, etc will interfere with the connection.
Cheers.
As Poison Wolf correctly pointed out, other household items can interfere with the wireless frequency. Try changing the channel that's being used to transmit from your box (This will involve changing some settings on your wireless router so do some research before you fiddle around with it) I have had to do this before and can confirm it can make a massive difference.

Everybody has this problem because the card seems not capable of more speed.
But it seems nearly nobody cares.

Stron,
Hmm, interesting. The only reasoning I can think of is that perhaps there's a limiting factor in order to reduce the heat or something? I don't see why they would cap the speeds.
Cheers.
What if it is capable of connecting at 54 Mbit, but can actually do only 11 Mbit? Nice trick. I hope it is just a bad idea.

horrible WiFi strength ruining Nexus 10

Can anyone confirm or not if the crap WiFi strength on nexus 10s is an acknowledged fact? I have seen some say it is, yet still see other comments praising the devices WiFi saying it is stronger than ipones etc.
This is my second N10, I sent the first back due to WiFi performance and I believed it to be defective. My second devices arrival has suggested otherwise as I have noticed no improvement.... Am I just really unlucky?
On my home network, every other device has ho WiFi issues, but my n10 struggles! It seems to sho a decent signal strength in the WiFilist in settings, but a low strength in the top right corner.... Can anyone advise? I get similar strength issues on other networks (public and at friends houses. SO frustrating not being able to perform one of the most basic functions on a £300+ device). Was hoping 4.3/4 upgrades would help- nothing.
Should I get a third nexus sent out? Is this down to poor quality components? Anyone having same issues?
Thanks!
Hard to generalize, but mine has been rock-solid (on 4.3; I'm holding off on "upgrading" to 4.4). Seems to give faster throughput than my N7
My N10 seems to be at par or a bit better than my better halfs Ipad. Taking both tablets and going for a walk out in back (acreage), in the outbuildings, and near fences, the signal strength and ability to connect to my router and see other routers was actually a touch better with the N10.
When first getting the N10, it did seem to drop the wifi signal, but replacing the el cheapo several year old router with a newer medium price router cured that issue.
The Google Nexus 10 as well as the Amazon Kindle HDX are two of the few devices that actually support MIMO (multiple input multiple output) wireless.
This typically allows for very solid and swift wireless performance.
I suspect that software updates may have had some impact on the Wireless functionality of the Nexus 10, but that is also in combination with some types of access points, so it varies to each customer.
Some places I get really terrible wireless, but at both my work and at home, it performs extremely well.
Hopefully a future KitKat patch will address the wireless more. I notice that new binaries are included in KitKat pertaining to both wireless and Bluetooth for the N10.
Hello, I just became an owner of a Nexus 10. when I first time connect to my BSNL Teracom wifi router it is not connected. it is always showing connecting or obtaining IP address...
It connected through my S3 Hotspot but not through teracom router
I wake up in the morning and just press again the connect button. Bingo...it is connected..!!! Not understand why it is behaving like this. I am not done any changes in routers settings also. Is it not connecting b'coz the routers frequency mismatch or anything else ?? After once I switch off and on the router the same problem happens
all my phones including a Samsung s3, tab neo and also my laptop all are switches automatically connected to the wifi router.
Please help.
thanks in advance.

Mine pulls 40mb out of a n wifi connection.. the main connection is only 50 -55 on average. I'd say its the best performing wifi device I own.
I have owned my N10 for over a year. The WIFI signal strength is good, but I often get some lag issues, which ended up being my router. When I have issues, I now reset my modem and everything works again. I have read that some people only have a 2.4GHz modem, and they have received better luck by limiting WIFI to that frequency only.

WiFi strength, range, and throughput

Wifi alone performs really well, but once you turn on bluetooth it becomes terrible. Download speeds of less than 1 mbps, barely usable.
@ZunsheV I cannot confirm the behavior you are describing. Having switched on bluetooth only without any traffic on it doesn't slow down the WiFi connection speed for me. It's a bit different when I am transferrring data over bluetooth in parallel or if bluetooth is scanning for devices. In those cases I can notice a slowdown, too.
Can more people chip in who bought m5? Does it have bluetooth/wifi problem? I plan on use it with bluetooth headphones so it would be major problem. I saw m3 had this problem.
I've got problems with the WiFi here, I've tested with Bluetooth speaker and gamepad with no slowdown at all

Using Wifi while connected to a bluetooth device slows downloads significantly.
I connected to my 5G wifi point and my Bragi headphones and it took several minutes to download a game from Google Play; turning off bluetooth and downloading a different game took only a few seconds (same wifi connection).
i'd go Samsung but the cheapest tablet with a fingerprint reader is running MARSHMALLOW (!).
I have no problems with bluetooth and wifi. No differences with bluetooth on and connected to my charge 3 and with bluetooth off. I have an M5 Wi fi only
I have the same problems. When the WiFi and Bluetooth is turned on, the speed falls dramatically.
I use WiFi 5 ghz router and Bluetooth jbl clip2.
No problems with my M5 8"LTE bluetooth or wifi, even when both are aktiv. Both works as it should.
edit: after some testing there is a "problem" with wifi speed 2.4Ghz when streaming music via BT, but not on 5Ghz.
Maybe not device relaited? Because my M2 8" LTE and my iPhone 7+ does the same

Probably you should try to change the channel of your router ...
Poor WiFi performance even when Bluetooth is off
I recently bought an Mediapad M5 and already next day i reclaimed it because of WiFi issues. At first start up i installed all availble system updates, restarted the Mediapad and checked WiFi performace. I noticed the downlink didnt gave me the normal speed as i have on my other devices (Galaxy TAB S, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S9) and that was when all other connections as Bluetooth was switched off. I have an 250/100 MBit/s service from my ISP wich usually give me approx 245/100 MBits/s on the 5 GHz wireless network. The Medipad gave me 120/100 MBit/s (50 % downlink speed of what i am used to get) and poor latency in comparation to the others. I tried what was under my possibilitys to do, reset network settings and also as final a factory reset. Nothing of that solved the issues. So it was an easy decision to take and reclaim the Huawei Mediapad M5 crap mediapad and get the money back.
Furthermore there was other annoying issues on the Mediapad M5. It was not possible to use all of the apps i earlier bought from Google Play and are using on my old Galaxy TAB S and on my Galaxy S9. Apps for monitoring WiFi connection, e.g WiFi Overview 360 Pro and WiFi Analyzer - both are well reputation apps, didnt work properly on Mediapad M5 depending of Huaweis app regulations. Using these apps on the Mediapad M5 i was only allowed to see the network i was attached to. Nothing else. I spoked with Huawei support desk and they confirmed that Huawei have restrictions for what apps users are allowed to run on Huawei devices.
So if you are going to purchase a new tablet, make a proper consideration before you choose a Huawei Mediapad device.
Good on my M5 10.8
I use 5GHz wifi and bluetooth is always on (and connected sometimes), i still get a link speed equivalent to my desktop with a dedicated PCIE wifi card (867mbps) and with a case on it sometimes beats my desktop wifi speed.
Haven't tried bluetooth with 2.4GHz, it's slower yes, but i never noticed it, only 2.4GHz wifi ive used is out and about on public wifi and that's slow anyway (verify with my phone)
Also worth noting that i think my model might be a cellular model in disguise, it has the gyroscope which is exclusive to the cellular model, and a thermal sensor for the modem.
The WiFi / Bluetooth issue is not specific to this device. It happens on everything using the 2.4G WiFi band. Ise 5G and problem is gone.

Is using a USB bluetooth adapter over OTG an option?
You should have a good router for a stable 5ghz connection. I had dir-809. The signal was very unstable even in the same room a few meters away, the speed of my internet is 150 mbit, but ive got rarely above 90mbit, because of the 100 mbit wan port.
Now I'm using very cheap but much, much better tenda ac10 router. The signal is strong and stable even in the room next to the router, where i haven't signal before. The link speed on my p20 is 520-750 mbit, on the mediapad around 390-433 mbit. I've got 150 mbit internet speed (150 is the isp limitation.) I'd wish the tablet to support mu-mimo, but as i know only p20/p20 pro/mate 10 pro Porsche support the technology.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JpigHhjzodw6UEAbmRw8zQh6IE46OOfx/view?usp=drivesdk
Worst. 4 times less speed than before Turbo GPU and August Security Patch update. Avoid!
Edit: I panicked a little bit too much. After that I played with my router's 2,4Ghz and 5Ghz bands, divided it into two different wifi names, then connected to my M5. After everything - changed to that one wifi name with 2 bands. Now it's working as it should.
I get about half the speed on the M5 than i do with my Mate 10 or my desktop, with bluetooth off.
Also the wifi signal is good if you're in direct sight of the router and within 20 meters, once i go behind a wall i lose signal.

Try working with your router - a change of channel number could solve the problem. Also, check if you connect to 5ghz band as this could get you nicer speeds.
There is significant speed decrease in wifi speed with Bluetooth on. It appears on 5ghz network too. With Bluetooth off i get around 200 mbit/s.
The problem doesn't appear on p20. I've got around 400 mbit/s with Bluetooth always on.

Comparing to my old S7, LG G7 wifi is rather weak.
Wifi is about the same as my V30 and Note 8
Does anyone else have an issue where the wifi will suddenly become disabled all by itself? My wife's G7 does this frequently
After factory reset, router/modem reset, and network settings reset, my device will connected to wifi but "the internet is unavailable"

I'm on my second G7, and although my most recent one performs much better than the first, I still have the wifi and bluetooth connectivity issues. It's weird, I'll be on the phone, I'll see the notification light flash red, then it'll drop all connections, and come back a few seconds later.
Wifi signal Easily blocked by handling - lg g7
I notice that during gaming (pubg mobile) on lg g7, i hold my phone horizontally one one side (notch on left hand) and the ping goes high AF, but then when i switch to noth on right(which completely cover the speaker ) the ping seems okay. Wtf is this ****y design
This might be a standard issue with andriod that you have to make an http connection to authorized the connection (for example airports and hotels). What I do is open chrome and use the url http://yyy.com (it doens't have to be a real website. The key thing is to specify http:// since most browsers default to https).

Thanks. Turns out it just needed some time to work itself out. Next day the phone connected and was receiving data through wifi. Forgot to post. Whoops. I work 70 hours a week.
WiFi reception seems to be weaker than my Pixel XL. Having the devices side-by-side, the WiFi icon on the G7 will consistently have worse reception. Looking at WiFi details, the speed of the link will drastically better on the Pixel XL as well (ex. 360mbps vs 60mbps).

Constantly disconnects and reconnects to WiFi seemingly for no reason. Can be using the phone actively or it can be asleep. Happens on both my 4XL and my wifes 4. My connection logs on my WiFi show that my phone has reconnected 204 times in 24 hours. I have reset network settings to no avail. All other devices on WiFi work just fine.
That's weird... I definitely have not had any such issue. I would think maybe you got a bad phone but because it's on both you'll phones I think it's probably something with your wifi network... Firewall or possible internet monitoring software may be constantly kicking you off the network

Yea, I don't have a standard consumer Wi-Fi setup. I have 3 Ruckus wireless access points running off a virtual controller, but these are very popular/common in corporate environments. I have used the same setup with many Android devices in the past without issue, so something is different/broken with the Pixel 4. I took some packet captures and opened a ticket with Ruckus, will see what they say and if we can find a cause/solution.
Did you ever find out why you keep getting constant disconnects with your setup? I never get disconnected on my home network and at work we run through access points and have never had a problem besides the fact that our broadband is slow as hell. But especially at home the WiFi is flawless. Sounds like you might be getting conflicts. Is it possible to dedicate an IP address to your device on your network?

I never did figure this out and it continues to happen on both my Pixel 4 XL and my wife's P4. I have updated the latest firmware on my WAPs, Ruckus R510 and H320.
All other devices work fine without disconnecting, 34 of them regularly connected.
In the January update I was hopeful because they listed "Wi-Fi crashes on certain enterprise access points" in the patch, but it has not helped.
My pixel 4 stays connected to WiFi all the time. On my iPhone it connects and disconnects all the time so on my pixel it's a habit that I check wifi all the time. I don't want to go over my data limit. My pixel 4 shows 3/4 bars all the time. I'm only one room over from the router? My iPhone shows 3/3 bars all the time. I switch between the 2 a lot. xD

Asking people to rate the phones wifi strength is pointless. So many factors people aren't posting about will affect this. Are you using a $30 router that barley has any power, how far from the router are you, what are your walls made of, how fast is your connection? You didn't ask anyone to state that so how can we judge the phone with no variables.
Had Same Issue, Fixed It
Updating here in case others come here and need something to try out. I had same issue with WiFi disconnecting constantly on my Pixel 4XL, which I alleviated by changing the Privacy setting under Advanced section of the WiFi configuration for your network. The default is "Use randomized MAC", and I switched to "Use device MAC".
This may not help everyone, but in my case my home network is setup to allow only specified MAC addresses to connect and use Internet. The MAC randomizing privacy aspect of newer Android OS obviously flew in the face of this, and needed reverted to previous OS version behavior. Thankfully this only ever happened with my home network and I can still use the randomizing feature for all other networks I've used.
Definitely better than my 2xl where in the same WiFi can have drop outs and causes some games like clash of clans to reset. Totally solid with better range now.
