I am a really big fan of glass.. And it looks premium..

looks premum but fingerprint magnet and extremely slippery back, metal sides lucikly are OK

looks premium but fingerprint magnet and extremely slippery back but using provided case can minimize the slipperiness

no provided case for me, but i don't complain for 358€

1. I've never had in my hands so slippery phone as this one.. it's ultra slick! If you put that phone on a sofa it immediatelly starts sliding to the nearest gap between matresses.. so be carefull if you have big pockets, it can slide out of the pocket if you sit with your legs crossed
2. And the metal frame is also very soft. As there was no rubber case in the phone package and the seller hasn't any in the stock (he tells the phone is 'ultra new item') my phone is already scratched on the metal border. I've got the phone in my pocket and didn't knew about that little eurocent in the pocket.. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu @%&@$#%#!!
3. The additional glass which comes from factory is also soft.. was scratched too with the same coin as in point 2.
4. As was in another post above the whole body (except the frame) is fingerprint magnet
The used material is not worth the 420€ but the phone in global is very nice.. it's a shame I have to use it with a rubber case
ps. I had before Xiaomi phones WITHOUT any scratces and thy fell sooo many times.. this one Honor was just few times in a pocket and this is how he looks now

damn... thats not a scratch, thats chipping. And all of that chipping is caused by a single coin?

Ordered the S7 Edge, I'm scared I'll drop it and break it....

Currently I'm using an S5 without any cases or covers, and it's still drop-proof, dropped it multiple times on hard floor/concrete and there is no damage on the screen what so ever. And before that I had an HTC One X, which is probably more similar to the Edge in that the screen isn't protected if it drops face down, I did eventually crack it with that kind of a drop. However the edge is gonna be even more problematic because even the back is glass, and no plastic protruding edge to protect it.
Sure I could put it in a bulky case but then it kind of defeats the purpose of having one of the most premium feeling phones ever doesn't it? It'll also negate any ergonomic benefits of the curved back edge as well as the ease of edge swipe on the front edge. Might as well just get something like a.... I don't know, nobody makes high end plastic phones anymore now days, even cheap phones like One Plus is front+back curved glass. Also this thing is already a bigger phone than what I'm used to, adding a beefy case is just gonna make it that much bigger, which I do not like.
Well I guess plenty of people did survive the iPhone 4 glass sandwich era just fine, I'll just have to wish myself luck. I wonder how much would one of those adhesive skins help in a drop situation. Sure they are very thin but if think about the physics of it, gorilla glass is actually quite flexible so it doesn't break from the acceleration of the impact itself, so thinness doesn't really matter. What actually breaks these surface hardens glass is usually a microscopic failure on the surface developing into a big crack. And those microscopic failures can happen when they make contact with sharp hard stuff like individual sand particles, they effectively puncture the surface and develop a weakness. So if you have a skin on the glass, what'll hopefully happen instead is that the skin will be thick enough for the particle to not make direct contact with the glass, and prevent breaking. Even though such thin skins cannot significantly reduce the impact acceleration.
I understand your points, but please, don't ever try to use this phone naked. You NEED a case, the grip is so bad that dropping it is almost a guarantee and the back glass seems to be much more fragile than the front glass from what I have seen in videos. About the cases, you may want to look into the Samsung official plastic backs or (when available) the leather backs. The official plastic back cases from Samsung are the only ones (in my opinion) that really do not ruin the phone's design, the design remains almost intact. However, while the grip is much improved over the naked phone, it is nowhere near other bulky and rubberized cases. A rubberized plastic wrap would be a solution, but the big problem still remains - the metal sides of the phone which are very narrow.
PS: As I understand from the latest spy pics, the iPhone 7 will have a glass back again...probably needed for radio/charging/payment/other secret developments.
There are plenty of case available that won't make the phone look s**t. I'm using a Spigen Crystal Clear, a very good combination of protection and looks. It's impossible to completely keep the phone's look and feel, but it's probably as close as possible whilst being confident of being able to accidentally drop it from pocket height without damage.
Glass protectors on these curved screens are to be avoided, that's my personal opinion anyway. My brother bought numerous types of these for his S6 Edge (expensive and cheap) and not one went on properly without raising on the curves within twenty minutes, causing touch problems on the edges. Go for a good quality film type like a Zagg HD Dry.
I copied you entirely mate I'm not ashamed to say. Got my Spigen Crystal Clear yesterday and, your right, it does look good, but not as good as the nekkid phone itself. But I guess that's the price of good protection.
Just waiting for my Zagg HD Dry front and back covers to arrive today.
I'm personally using Otter Box Commuter for me and my wife's phone. I was able to try it on in store before purchasing. I was sort of desperate for a case on delivery day and it was the most protective case I found. I'm happy with it overall. It's sleep and slim and although the whole front in uncovered it does have raised top and bottom edges so if the phone falls flat the screen doesn't actually touch the floor.

Too risky lol
Sent from my Blackberry Bold
I would love to use the phone naked as it just looks so good, but I am scared to risk it. I have never dropped and cracked a phone, and I had an Iphone 4S without a case for 2 years which were well known for getting smashed, I have a clear case on the edge at the moment to offer it some protection.
Carrying and using smart phones without any case is just asking for trouble. I have the S7 Edge and when it arrived on March 2nd it stayed at home in the box until my Spigen Ultra Hybrid case arrived (which was a few days later). I was still using my S5 because I didn't want to take any chances.
After my case arrived I put it on but I still keep the original plastic film on the screen because I was waiting for my Skinomi screen protector to arrive. My Skinomi arrived yesterday and I installed it last night.
So if you don't want a bulky case get the Spigen Ultra Hybrid (I went with the crystal clear color). I ordered my case and screen protector from Amazon. The case is very nice looking and doesn't add any bulk to the phone.

I'm using this case. It's amazing. Thin, easy to grip and not too expensive.

I use the phone naked and dropped it from about 3,5 feet, first it hit the steel base of a table and than it bounced on a wooden floor, not a scratch

Glass feels premium but fragile, slippery, fingerprint magnet and bad conductor of heat compared to metal. Well, people will use a case anyway.
Feels premium, i love the design, very chic and elegant. the black color is really nice fits well.
Yes, the glass is fingerprint magnet.. but anyways i use a case. but sometimes i use it without case just to feel it. the finger print and low bezels is really the best in the market... because it is really small bezel and u dn't need a navigation bar to take part of the screen. so comparing it to other devices it was better. so far didn't notice defects.
Overall it looks great but the paint used on the metal sides isn't great quality. I've NEVER used the phone without the provided case. I took it out to have a look at it for the first time in ages the other day and noticed the phone has scratches all the way down the sides. My assumption is that this is from dust in my pocket getting between the best and the metal frame. First time I've seen this with a phone though.
almost scratch free. really slippery without case. I use a soft leather case to maintain grip. or it would keep on falling
Fell premium. I was happy with quality of materials until 2 days ago, when i try to change SIM card, i put out phone from case, and put on arm rest of sofa. I dont know how it could be possible that phone slip down on wood table. 20cm distance and left corner on alu frame is little sunk.
Screen scratches super fast. I have old Chinese umi super, used it in work no screen protector or case. Never get scratches. My mate 10 just a few times in pocket of jeans got scratches... Horrible.

Uhhh you do realize that there's a factory applied screen protector right?
I took that off the first day of use. I dont like it.. On akl my previous phones never used screen protector. No scratches
I have white spots/circles on the side of the phone. Paint is rubbed away. Not many of them but its still a shame.

I have the Mirror Black version and despite keeping cases on this phone whenever I go out - either the plastic case that came with it, or the carbon fibre protective case that I bought with the phone - the back glass already has scratches on the corners and along the bottom of the glass. Ironically I think these scratches came from applying and removing the cases.
Had similar issues with the Midnight Black OnePlus 3T I bought. The black paint began chipping on the top of the phone, and along the top of the back plate.
Not impressed.

Therefore, it is worth using full skins, for example with gadgetshieldz
If I'm to be honest, I would have preferred a (cheaper?) plastic build, instead of glass. I always put a Case on my phone anyway. Build seems good though. I've already dropped my phone once, no problems yet.
Very, very happy the phone comes with screen protector and free case out of the box!

Ergonomics (in-hand feel)

Please, no "that's what she said" jokes. Rate this thread to express how you think the Xiaomi Poco F1 feels in-hand. A higher rating indicates that it's comfortable to hold for long periods of time, even in one hand. Resist the urge to say "TWSS" just now. Seriously.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Very comfortable in hand, hardware buttons are well placed, for the finger print scanner, some may have had that concern due to proximity to the camera lens but that fear may not be true as the scanner is recessed a bit and easy to locate.
Included Case
The case I got is very poor quality and can be easily removed not perfect fit. Does anyone have same issue. It's very loose fit feels phone ccan fall from this if you don't hold it tight.

This included case is for temporary use until you buy one. At this budget don't expect for the quality, just enjoy the performance of the device :silly:
The in hand feel is great. I have owned Mi4i before, and honestly, i have no issues with the polycarbonate back, it does wonders for gripping, and compensates the weight for that huge battery underneath. My only two grievances with the device are it's weight ( coming from a MI5 here, that was 129 grams), it kinda hurts my hand when using for longer periods of time. And the second is that palm rejection is poor, besides that, its awesome for the price, the buttons feel clicky, and the device stays cool

In hand feel is just like any other phone out there. You won't feel the unpremiumness that much at all.
But yes the device a bit on the heavier side.
PS: get the screen protector.
Been using the phone for 72 hours now. In the beginning the in-hand feel was quite difficult since i am jumping from a 5.5in and felt heavy too. But now have gotten used to it. The stock case feels and fits quite bad, going for a new one asap.
Can I ask a question that some of you may feel very basic!

Why should the screen protector be used and by "screen protector" do you mean tempered glass?
If yes,
If it is to prevent scratches, doesn't gorilla glass 3 take care of that?
My nexus 5 had gorilla glass 3. I had used a tempered glass for some days but felt the touch feel inferior and hence removed the tempered glass and didn't have any scratches until the phone died after 2 years because I messed up the battery circuit.
If you mean back cover then I can understand, I had used pu back cover with nexus 5 and it survived 2 falls with that. Poco f1 on the other hand might need a strong body armor, I'm not confident about the glass as it's a taller display and edge to edge 2.5d glass.
Having said that, if the edges of back cover protrude up around the scren and wrap it, so as to protect the screen (as in case of my nexus 5),when placed face down, will the full screen gesture control still work on Poco f1?!

I drop my phone a lot. Me not that much but sometimes my sister or her children get hold of the phone and you can imagine the rest. I have owned 4 phones all broken in the first few months. So any kind of protection is most welcome here. And no I'm not worried about scratches, that'd be silly.
I don't know if the protrusion would be that far up so as to interfere with touch.
Any suggestions how to protect the 2.5d curved edged screen from drops?

I put on a real cheap (₹100) tempered glass which doesn't even cover the whole screen and the touch response is great.

Hi, Is the rear of Poco as soft and grippy as the Mi4i? I believe it will be same for all the colored backs, Blue black..
I love phones where you do not need to apply cover and just a screen guard works! (Tantrums of a OPO owner!)

Yes, its matt finish, just like the Mi4i. Its not exactly soft, the phone definately slips, but its better than metal and glass. You can use it without a cover, but I reckon the back will pick up scratches, i went for a camouflage skin for the back, makes it grippy and still keeps the phone just as thin( i mean 8.8 mm isn't exactly thin, but with a cover this phone would be hard to hold).

It's a slippery bastard helped by the transparent case ... Still slippy
Is very premium and comfortable. I can use it one handed, it's slightly heavy but not bad. You get used to it quickly.
The worst part is probably the camera. It does protrude on the back, unbalanced without a case.
However if you use the transparent case the lip of this does extend to the camera depth so the lenses are protected.
Also note, might be liaow doing it but it comes with a very unnoticeable screen cover already applied...so don't freak out if you score along it with your nail, you are not scratching the actual screen!
Screen cover was very poor. I've replaced mine with a hydrogel version, much better and self healing from minor damage.
I've also bought a rugged shield case, used these before and they protect camera area and give a good grip and feel as well as good bouncy protection

I bought my rugged shield case from eBay and the hydrogel protector from Ali. Bought 2 but not used the second, first one still good. So pics attached
Personally, I can recommend the Nillkin CamShield Case for Mi 10 Ultra.
It's very well made - the cutouts are precise; the corners are thickened to better absorb impacts; the case extends about 1mm above the display and you get a hard plastic cover that protects the phone's camera array when you swipe it shut.
I bought it from nillkin.org, the delivery took about 10 business days.
Man those are less than half the price on aliexpress. I think I'll get one from there.
