What ROM do you recommend for Huawei P8 Lite ALE-L21 ? - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to replace the ROM on my Huawei P8 Lite ALE-L21.
Currently installed: Android 5.0.1 ALE-L211C432B190.
Please help me choose a ROM that would be best for this phone (in your opinion), considering:
- Android version newer than 5.0.1
- Supports Dual Sim
- rooted
- Stable (i need a ROM that is not experimental, but suitable for day to day use, something reliable)
- Has no bugs with hardware/software (eg. sensors, or other features)
- doesn't slow the phone significantly
I am aware this type of question often annoys people (as anyone may consider a different ROM as "best"), but if you can leave your personal feelings aside and give your best 2 cents in answering my request would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I use AOSPA by surdu, this rom have a better battery life than the original emui and it just works fine, I had RROS in the past but AOSPA is more stable

Thanks @BananeMan1
I've got into some trouble with my phone (bootloader became locked after installing the updates to get EMUI 4.1)
I posed the issue here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/help/p8lite-ale-l21-unlock-bootloader-t3779631

I have some problems with AOSPA:
- Can't access Phone or SIM contacts, only gmail contacts
- Any imported contacts (VCF) went to gmail account and there is no way to save them in Phone or SIM.
- as is not EMUI, HiSuite doesn't work.
While I'm sure it would be fun to try all ROMs made here, for sure I lack the necessary time, therefore I would like to know which ROM is EMUI and works with HiSuite (if any).

This is Lineage OS 13 for p8 lite. It is unofficial, but it is stable. I currently don't know whether that supports saving contacts to the sim card. But you better have a look at the thread.
There is also an Oreo ROM, which is unstable at the moment and doesn't recommend that.
There is also the Lineage OS 14 for p8 lite 2017.
Yours is 2015 so it won't support neither yours or mine.

Custom Roms for Huawei P8 Lite (BlissROM)?

Hello!
This is my first post, any suggestions on how to improve are gladly taken!
I would like to install a Bliss Rom which does not support my Huawei P8 Lite (Android 5.0).
Is it possible? And if not, what ROMs would you suggest?
I think our cute little p8lite doesn't have any custom roms.. But we have to hope we will get a few.. Maybe some roms ported from honor 4x?
Ps. And remember... You can't install roms from another devices
i wish to be a lot or custom rooms to our p8 lite too !
will we ever get a cyanogenmod?
You may want to follow @XePeleato 's efforts in porting (help appreciated) here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/rom-aosp-5-1-1-ale-l21-t3350106
Unfortunately at the current phase the RIL is not working (you are not able to call / receive call)
The problem probably lays in the HIiSilicon Kirin chipset. The chipset is fairly unique, with only a few devices built with it, there are no general fixes for issues like RIL problems, so everything needs manual fixing, which is like modify-rebuild-try, after every effort to trying to fix issues.
It takes time, and manual labour, which is very tedious.
XePeleato said, he'll wait for the official 6.0 releases, and try to do some things after that.
I'm also interested in the building process itself, already downloaded a linux vm, and the CM source code itself, and I'm trying to learn how the system is working, so there are mulltiple people who are willing to make ROMs.
There is a person who works on cyanogenmod for our p8lite.

You can install sokkoban's rom. It is emui but contain a lot of features that aren't available now on Huawei p8 lite. Especially camera modes like light painting, super night mode etc. http://huaweip8lite.blogspot.com/?m=1

Huawei Nova 2i - RNE-L22

Hi All,
I am looking to replace my increasing unreliable and aged Samsung Galaxy S5 with a Huawei Nova 2i. From some reading I have done, it seems that the Nova 2i is essentially the same as the Mate 10 lite as per a few article (New user, so I can't add links, sorry - Google "nova 2i rebranded mate 10 lite" and you will see the article). I am still unsure on a few details regarding installing Custom Androids etc, so thought I'd come to the experts.
Here are some specifics on devices:
Current Phone:
Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F with TWRP and Resurrection Remix Android Oreo)Replacement candidate:
Huawei Nova 2i (RNE-L22)
So what I am looking to know is the following:
Is the Nova 2i the same as the Mate 10 lite?
Can I install Resurrection Remix Oreo on this phone and is it a good option for this phone?
If I can install Resurrection Remix Android on this phone, where would I get the O/S to install?
If I can't install Resurrection Remix, what is a good low resource O/S Android Oreo I should consider that will work for this phone? (I want things as simple and clean as possible, I will install minimal Google Play/Services as and when required)
Thanks in advance for any help and excuse any details I may have missed that you need. I am still a bit new to this side of the tech world.

Yes, it's the same. However, you do not need to look for any custom Oreo ROM. Nova 2i already received Oreo official update (EMUI8.0).
I have this device and it's superb! I can play any games!

Help with update procedure for Xiaomi Mi A1 (5X)

Hello guys,
This is my first post, so thanks for any help before hand.
I have one of the phones that came with the infamous Oxygen bootloader.
And i am loking for help in order to update it to latest release avaliable.
I am on the android version 7.1.2, MiUI v9.0.3.0, my phone identifies itself as 5x, but from my understanding the only difference between the 2 version is the fingerprint sensor and a few cellular band support .
My ROM is a custom ROM that i found in another forum and flashed trought the miflash application.
I am not sure about the rom version yet, because the A1 has android Pie now, and the ROM for the X5 is still Oreo with the MiUI 10, so i am open to suggestions.
I would prefer to transform my phone into a A1 and get ride of the Oxygen bootloader if possible.
Ofc the best option is the safest way and the one that dosen t cripple my phone, because right now it works perfectly fine as day one, with exception to the battery lifetime, but i guess thats normal for a phone with 15 months.
Thanks for the help.

Modding P8 Lite (2015) in 2020 - question and advices

Hello! I've modded already some devices, but I never got in my hands a device that lived so long.
Since I cannot find any infos about using latest Magisk on a such old device and I don't want to mess it up, I wanted to ask here some questions.
First: generally, is ok to use a recent version of Magisk on every device, or there are some devices with some kind of differences that needs a "custom" or "specific" version of Magisk?
Second: is ok to use directly the Releases on https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases ? I saw that this is the only official way to get it and that magiskmanager is not a related site.
Third: any advices on modding the P8 Lite 2015?
Model runs MIUI 4.0.3 and it's on Android 6. It's the single-sim version.
I already have TWRP working and phone is factory-reset. Yes, I had access to my unlock code, so it was pretty painless to unlock it.
It needs to be fully functional, so I cannot use custom ROMs (it seems like all have problems with YouTube and/or Camera). If there are some advices here, I'm free to listen.
I was planning on installing Magisk (root, generally) to uninstall Huawei crap plus a better control over kernel, if there is any on this device.

P8 lite 2017 newbie

I just got a p8 lite 2017 from a friend, stock android 7.0 ( emui 5.0 ).
I'm not new with rom installations, but I don't know anything about this specific device.
It is still possible to unlock the phone and install a custom rom? reading this forum it looks like you need to pay for it.
Which is the most stable rom?
I'm going to give the phone to a person which is completely tech unskilled, so I'm looking for an hassle-free experience, and I value stability over newest version of android.
unlock using the PotatoAv https://github.com/mashed-potatoes/PotatoNV
you will need to slightly open the back cover (which is just a piece of cake)
