Nokia camera - Sony Xperia XA Guides, News, & Discussion

Has anyone else tried the Nokia camera app? It's way faster than stock Sony or the oneplus camera apps on xa.

It's actually really good and you can take photos a lot faster and with both cameras at once if you want to.

Huawei mate s or p8 camera port

hey I wondering if it is possible to port the good camera from Huawei mate s or Huawei p8 , even honor 7 . they are the same with lot of good functions. well nexus 6p is a Huawei device too, do u think it is possible ?
It likely uses the EMUI framework so I doubt it. The Google camera app is great and there are other options on the play store if you don't like the stock one
y cant we have few features like using the fingerprint sensor for taking selfie or scrolling? No such app?

Its a Nexus (AOSP based)not a bloated EMUI phone. That's why it doesnt have those bloated features, nor does it need them. I never take 'selfies' or even use the FFC so it's not important to have for me. You have to remember that this is a Nexus not a skinned UI phone so it only has the bare minimum in terms of software features. If it had Huaweis normal UI it would be slower and the phone would be ruined.

Sorry m8 but the stock camera app sucks. No ISO, no Sutter speed, no manual focus, nothing. Fv-5 is great but it needs some bug fixing cuz sometimes is just wont focus and won't capture at all.

None of that is really required on a phone. The stock camera app works great, and doesn't clutter things up with necessary features. I use my DSLR frequently in manual mode which serves a purpose for a real camera; phones don't need manual adjustments especially not the 6P. Every picture I've taken has come out perfectly the first time I took it. I don't need to play with settings like I did on my LG G3, Nexus 6, or S5.

I don't know about you but I really miss the HTC camera app. Editing the photos in real time using the MF, SP, and ISO can give you the image your looking for. Nevertheless, even on auto setting on FV-5 it takes better photos then the stock camera app on the 6p. For me it always seems to be over exposed and washed out.

I've never owned an HTC so I can't say I know what you're taking about. I know there are a lot is good camera apps out there, but I've never had any bad pictures from the stock app with auto HDR and flash off

Z5 premium photos quality

Anyone wanna share some photos taken with the Z5 premium?
I want to buy it but the camera seems so bad.

Anyone else?
Some random pictures.
A little disappointed with the camera. The Nexus 6P is so much better. The Z5 Premium camera isn't really much better then the Z1 camera, at least when it comes to photo processing, still much noise in darker photos etc.
Thanks

New app
Did the Xperia Z5 premium get (or will get) the new Camera app from Xperia XZ? This should boost a little bit the quality of some shots, with the shutter speed 1s.
I'm still considering buying the Z5 but not sure if Sony will update the above mentioned app....

I think they might not. Some users sometimes get the app working on other older models
The new camera app is only for 7.0+ android os. We may get it in Dec when we receive 7.1 update.

Snapchat quality in regards to eis

Anyone who has a oneplus 5 what's the camera quality on snapchat. I know it's going to be way worse than camera app like any other android but is it decent? Because it has eis and not ois does that effect snapchat quality? Is it really shaky?

Maybe take a couple videos and save them then upload them somewhere and send us a link.
I think snapchat just needs to fix their Android app. It's giving Android users a bad name man.

Your right. Snapchats app on android is horrible. The most powerful android phone runs Snapchat like an iPhone 5s.

Straight from snapchat
I really haven't had a lot of problems with snapchat. It's a pretty basic camera obviously. No crazy blurry pics but you do need to keep it pretty steady. Unless you came from a phone with OIS before, and I know some of you guys did, and for you guys, it might be a bit of an adjustment, but it seems fine to me. It's nowhere near a terrible experience.

Thanks. Looks normal I guess, which is good.
Also I'm guessing there's no eis right? Apparently with some phones and ois. Ois only works in the normal camera app and not Snapchat.

I have just one video right now but it definitely don't have EIS however it's more natural

Thanks for uploading and the images look amazing but the video looks OK (bad) this could all be fixed through software update from Snapchat team for full support of the camera and not screen capture.
Depend of people standards I guess
but I don't find the video quality on snapchat that bad
If you want to take good videos buy a f**king GoPro or a camera

It's more for video stabilisation. As EIS in the camera works perfectly, what abt Snapchat?

Questions about Dirac and camera.

1) How can I see if Dirac works on my device? Does it work for speakers only or also for earphones?
2) Oneplus5 takes very bad photos. I have an LG g4 and it's 100 times better.. How is this possible? How can I improve the quality of the camera?

1) Cant. Both.
2) Try gcam or Oneplus Camera Mod on themes/apps/mods thread.
Grab an Nokia 6300 or similar and you'll see what's a bad camera. Jokes beside, the camera quality is superb compared to all devices I owned before and that's also proved by many members as you can read in the reviews https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/review/photo-quality-t3646094
The photos are very blurred. And as I said before, I own a LG g4 and it takes much better photos.. Don't understand why..

Ways to improve camera quality

Hi there,
Was wondering if there is any known way to improve the camera quality a little.
Like for example do you use a 3rd party app or some mod for stock app,
or is the stock camera the best you can get ?

I already tried but sadly the newer versions, who actually improve image quality require newer android version and camera api2. Not sure if anyone managed to get it working yet, but on stock rom it surely doesn't work.
The only gcams that are working are really old and the picture quality is significantly worse than the stock camera.

The very best way is to replace the camera lens cover!
It's a small part, it's cheap and you'll be astonished
