New user with a Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro (SM-S327VL) Tracfone in search of Help - Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) Questions & Answers

Hi, my name is Nan & i just bought this Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro (SM-S327VL) Tracfone...though i can take apart & rebuild a computer, laptop & even tablets from the ground up, im new to Smartphones, a virtual Noob..but..i learn quickly, once i've been shown how or where to learn abt stuff.....bought this phone cos i can't afford the high end phones & it seemed to have some nice features...and quite frankly i did not expect to have all this trouble finding information on how to tweak it or i would have kept my ancient relic trusty flipfone......this Luna, it's loaded with bloatwarez...so i saved & bought a huge 256 mSD(SanDisk, not a knockoff) for it..but hardly anything will move to the SD even though i made it the go to download storage, replacing the internal....hate loosing all the cool apps i have on it & giving up the dream of an integrated AI Smarthome(have Echo & Dot & hubs & Echo already answers landline & makes calls, etc) All run by a Smartphone instead of a gaggly collection of remotes & lets not forget all those delish VR capabilities i know are underway...my fear is..the apps themselves may be refusing to move? Absurd as that seems it sure seems that way..&...Every rooter i've looked at seems to be for the original J3 but not the Luna.....without full knowledge im scared of creating a pretty pathetic paperweight brick...too many infos on this phone are greyed out...Does a place exist to read up on full details the obviously Altered Android of this particular phone? & if not does anyone here know what, if anything, can i do to take the necessary steps for manual root & maybe even check if it's possibly still somehow locked? Or...maybe...i simp[ly got what i paid for...ugh >< .....i know these questions have probably been asked many times over but my searching these forums for several hours didn't produce any...so..im asking now...Any & All infos will be Gratefully Appreciated!

i've been running scans all day..and night..."say your right words" for the right results is exhausting..:cyclops:
The 1 & Only result is this page : ht_tps:_//_www_unlockbase_com/unlock-phone/samsung/galaxy-j3-luna-pro
& it said this abt how to do it:
How to Unlock Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro?
1. Insert SIM card from a source different than your original Service Provider
2. (i.e. if you have a Rogers phone, use a non-Rogers SIM card),
3. Phone will ask you to enter Sim unlock pin
4. Enter unlock code
Phone will be unlocked

I have same phone. Nothing's rooting it. But I'm not very knowledgeable on root, flash, roms etc.
Did u get root sucess?

for rooting theres been work but no Cigar the J3 Luna Pro is shipped w/ a Locked bootloader and Knox Enabled / SELinux set to Enforcing. without a signed rom w/ these disabled rooting goes and will go nowhere. :/ if you got this phone for rooting you screwed teh pooch as it were to use a slightly bad term.
and i belive tracphone's unlocking rules is you haveto have the device n activated for like a year or 2 i think? if you want a verry similar phone seems they had success w/ the J3 Emerge which is pretty much the same exact phone but w/ more ram to the thing. and designed to run on the bigger carrier's networks

[Q] Rooting and back?

Hello. I'm sorry if I write this kind of questions, I know it annoys if it's already been asked, but I swear to you I looked *everywhere* and couldn't find a precise answer.
I'm coming from an iphone, and the sgs is my first android phone. Obviously I jailbroke my iphone on day 3, and I would like to keep the same tradition rooting my new phone today. The thing it's keeping me from doing it is warranty-related: on my iphone I knew that if one day I had to send it to apple (like for a broken wifi chipset), I could just connect it to my computer, hit the "restore" button and I was good to go. Now the question is: is the same also true for the sgs? Can I just plug it in with kies and restore it to factory settings?? Or with odin? I know about the samsung-firmwares website...does it provide truly *stock* firmwares without root? So that if I send the phone to samsung for repair it is *impossible* for them to see that my phone is-was rooted??
I also have a second question concerning these problems: why does rooting avoid your warranty?? Seriously, I can understand why apple doesn't want you to jailbreak your device...it's a double money loss for them. Either because you crack apps without buying them and/or because you use another "appstore" where you buy apps without giving them a cent...
But google I really can't understand: it's an open os, you can use other appstores right in your device (I read this info, but in fact apart from the samsung one, I've never seen alternative stores...), heck, you can also crack applications right in your device without rooting it!
So really, WHY?!?
I just wanted to root because of titanium backup. When I bought the phone I started playing with it for a while, downloaded some apps, changed some settings, tuned my homescreen, etc. Then I rebooted into windows to use kies and upgrade the firmware...and I found the horrible news: I had to do everything back from scratch. Now, that is something (coming from an iphone) that I find really disturbing. And then I read about titanium backup pro...but you need root. Seriously, why should that be something that avoids my warranty?!? Can someone explain this to me?

[q] need serious help quick with data recovery

my s4 lcd cracked on its own, no dropping, no misuse, and i didnt have a chance to back up my files/contacts. I recently switched to android after five years with iphone. With the iphone i could simply plug into my pc and transfer files to itunes with no real knowledge. I figured in this day and age and with the level of tech on the galaxy s4 I could do the same.
my problem is i have 8 years of contacts and a few months of photos, videos, etc. I do not wish to lose. If I had to prioritize, the contacts are definitely paramount as I have them no other place. I know, i know, stupid for assuming recovery would be as simple as plugging into my pc.
My problem lies in that I had a lockcode on my phone, did NOT enable developers options prior to it crashing, and have ZERO experience with "crm flashing, and mounting, etc, etc" and really have no clue what they even are. I can follow instructions and learn pretty quickly, but cant write code or anything like that if that is what is required.
Can anyone provide me with any help or suggestions? I am even willing to take it somewhere to have it recovered if thats an option. I really am desperate for help here and would appreciate anything. Thanks. YOu can message me here or email at [email protected].
Thank you all.
BTw, i downloaded an app called drfone which came up in a google search under "recover dead/broken s4 data:". Well, i dont know who actually took the time to write that post out but it has detailed instructions on how to recover the data from a dead or broken phone, but contradicts itself at every turn since you need access to the touchscreen on the phone itself. That poster must of left their logic button unchecked that day.

[Q] To root or not to root

Hi,
I am new to all this so please forgive what's probably a repeat. I have had a browse but can't find an answer to my specific problem.
I got a nearly new note 3 on e-bay and only saw the 'doesn't work in UK' warning after I bid (I know, stupid or what, but I swear it wasn't there before I bis as I was looking out for it). Anyway, I decided to take it on the chin and do what I needed to do to make it work.
I read around, this site is great, and decided that I would need to root and was quite prepared to do so but, then the phone arrived and the confusion set in.
The phone doesn't ask for an unlock Sim password or have the screen shown in the 'How to... you youtube videos' I don't have to dismiss anything to get into the phone and play with it. It's connected to my home network fine and and I can play with it to my hearts desire. It does everything in fact except make phone calls (my Dad thinks this is hilariously funny, a phone you can't use as a phone hahaha).
When I do try to make calls it says it is not registered to the network but when I have gone into settings to check it says it is!!!
I don't want to go to trouble of rooting if it doesn't need it but, what do I need to do!?!
Also there is the new kitkat thing that's thrown more confusion into my little life, if I root will I get that and if I don't, do I or should I care?
What good is a phone that doesn't make calls?
Any advice, hints or tips with this would be great x

Start Up Android Password - Encryption Option is Missing?

Hi there
I have been looking for a replacement for my Moto X Pure (because I am idiot and lost it). I liked the specs and the price of the Axon7 (having an support for an external SSD won me over vrs One Plus). Anyways I should have checked here first as there is a serious limitation for my use case. I use my phone for my work. Due to the way the work policies were setup we have to enable the password for Android start up. And as some of us have found out the hard ware that option is NOT supported with the current OS on the phone. From what I have read the phone is pre-encrypted so this option was removed.
My question (I know finally) was is there any way to get the start Android password working? I heard something about the un-locked boot loader but not sure if that is the ticket. I am not sure why the folks at ZTE removed that feature/option. Without getting this option re-enabled I have no choice but to send this phone back (take advantage of the 30 day money back guarantee) and look for something else... other than that I really like this phone! As always thank you XDA members!

Bypass the lock screen

Hi all - I imagine this has been asked a thousand times before, but I am new here and in need of some real help.
My brother recently passed away, and his phone (Huwei P Smart 2019) mysteriously went into Airplane Mode, and has no sim card. The lock screen is on and none of the 'usual' numbers or patterns he used appear to work. This phone was his lifeline before he died, using it to speak to doctors and care workers - which is why I do not think he set it to airplane mode himself.
Shortly after he died a 'friend' went to his house to 'secure valuable belongings' and he had my blessing to do so. When I managed to get there, and secure those belongings myself, lo and behold the phone was locked.
Apparently, it does this when it powers up after the battery drains. Apparently, (according to the 'friend') on a reboot it shows a lock screen... and somehow goes into airplane mode. All I know is his two other older android phones do not have passcodes and all are open and accessible after a reboot - I've already been able to check these for data easily enough. I cannot even see what version of the OS is installed, but I'd guess it is the default that the phone came with.
I am not an Android user, and am certainly not a 'power' user of any device, so I don't know if what the 'friend' is telling me is total BS or not. What I do know is there is likely to be some essential information stored on that phone, let alone photos and memories that his family would like - I am specifically looking for any details of his medical treatments and messages he might have received just before he died.
I've trawled around countless 'phone repair' booths in countless malls, and everyone tells me the same thing - it can be opened, but you have to wipe the phone. Obviously, I don't think that'll help as a) I don't want to reuse the phone and b) I need the data from it to help with an ongoing case.
So, the question is, can it be done... and if so, how?
Thanks in advance to all who reply.
Not sure if I believe the story.
Probably with testpoint, with unlocktool, with chimera, with EFT dongle.
I've tried some methods the testpoint methods I tried all erase the data.
All other working methods are on youtube search for huawei frp without data loss and similar search strings, and click on Related videos.
Don't connect the Android to Internet to avoid security update.
Try the method with sim card with PIN however that may need a previous version security.
If there is important data wait some time and check youtube again however there are fake videos on there.
If it's too important probably someone can attack it through some method.
However if you have no good reason to attack this device better move on I do not believe the story with deceased relative and whatever is on the device maybe it's water under the bridge move forward. If not then it is a high cost in your time effort money patience better invested elsewhere.
Whatever the case not judging
