Hi guys. After installing a custom ROM on my device, I can't find the fingerprint option in the settings. I never registered a fingerprint, my phone is only two days old. I have tried Elite ROM and Resurrection Remix and both of them don't have an option to register a fingerprint. Can anyone help?
Restore in eRecovery (volume up + pc connction or on the Bootloader has been unlocked screen vold volume up for 3 secs). Device will restore to factory firmware

Hello sir did you find the solution of the problem as I am also getting the same problem. I flashed aex ROM and I am not getting fingerprint option

I have had this problem ever since i installed lollipop roms on my i9505, whenever i go to security, it always says swipe and none option are deactivated by device administrator, credentials etc. Also PIN lock and password lock dont work, i set them but i would still have the swipe lock when i go ahead and lock my phones screen. Also pattern works. I have cleared credentials and deactivated all device administrators but the problem persists, is there anything i can do to solve this? I updated my modems through mobile odin as my computer is unable to read my phone die to faulty usb ports.

Oh yea i forgot to mention this problem only appears on touchwiz roms that i have installed, cyanogen mod roms and other aosp roms i have installed like the 7.0 nougat rom by jdc dont have this problem for me

Hi... I have updated my phone to LineageOS successfully but I lost fingerprint option. I'm getting system update options in Settings but when I tried to update the stuck in bootloop and I was able to get it to work by entering some codes in this forum... First, I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted my phone and installed TWRP and flashed LineageOS. All went good but I lost the fingerprint option and auto rotate and some features are not working properly. If I want to update it again to the latest version, do I have to unlock bootloader, root again? Please help... My phone was good before I updated it

Which os did you update and which rom was it before. Please tell exact versions and if you have the regarding links.
Normally that happens without the right firmware like marshmallow before installing a nougat rom. But let's see what's the problem of yours.

My phone did this once, fingerprint stopped reading and menu option disappeared. Don't remember what i did to cause it but i believe the fix was just two consecutive restarts and the option reappeared in my options menu. Did it happen all the sudden?
Hi i have successfully installed EU rom last week, now I wanted to root my phone, but when i enter twrp its asking me for password to decrypt but i never set any password for that. Any ideas? I tried my PIN but it doesnt work. I don't want more format data...

It works perfectly with your pin/password you use in Android for unlocking the screen. It can also work with your pattern for unlocking the screen in Android, if you use ir.
Make sure to use the latest official TWRP 3.5.1_9-0
If neccessary, reset your pin/password in Android, Settings
But if you switched the ROM - you HAD to Format data
ill try reset pin
EDIT: I used pattern lock and now it works

Hi ,
I was using PE rom , but it was stuck on "NO OS installed".
So i tried flashing another rom and now it doesn't accept my decryption pattern.
Any solution except formatting data ?
Please help.

When you change a ROM, you MUST Format Data (mot Wipe Data)
But your problem might be also something else, wrong flashing ROM, who knows (there are guudes how to do that - seems people don't find them and don't read, because the guide must definitely say about Formatting Data, hence it wouldn't be later questions about - unfortunately, common issue)
Hello, I was having issues with the fingerprint sensor so I tried to install the stock Rom using msm, tried again, about 5 times (all different versions). Now settings constantly crashes and I'm unable to unlock the bootloder due to having to update the device to unlock it again from the settings. Also wifi isn't working so even when I am able to get to the update screen I still am unable to fix it. Is there any solutions to this problem? Thank you
Used bluetooth tethering to update it, took a very long time but I am able to unlock the bootloader now
