Case compatibility with the Whitestone Dome Glass master list - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Accessories

I found this master list of cases that work and do not work with the whitestone dome glass on Reddit. I thought it would be helpful for those here as well! There seems to be a submission form for other cases that people have tested out and whether or not they fit, so it is continually updated.
Hope this helps others as it really stinks to spend so much on that screen protector only to have a case screw it up because it doesn't fit

Thanks,
I submitted a couple models that work using the link.

Spigen skin air works perfect with my dome protector ?

Nice! Looks like they were already added.

I pre-ordered the Moment case... it's a gamble.

Did the Moment wind up fitting? I was thinking of getting that with the Dome Glass screen protector as well. Haven't seen it on any of these lists.

I have the Spigen Neo hybrid. I noticed that the corners of the screen have a little gap between the screenprotector and the case. On the sides , the gap isnt noticable.

Is the Samsung Alcantara case definitely compatible? Anyone have this case with the whitestone dome?

Yes I have that case for my S9+ and whitestone dome glass.
Sent from my Samsung SM-G965U1 using XDA Labs

Warning about the Moment case. The bottom 2 lips of the case touch the glass (the sides and top are fine). I don't know if I want to keep it on long enough to see if the bottom of the glass lifts....
Edit: The Moment case is not compatible with the Whitestone.

Your list says the OtterBox Pursuit series does not fit, this is false. I would say it is an exact fit with only a few millimeters of "wiggle room" but it does fit with no glass touching or conflicts with the case.

Anyone tried the Youmaker? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BMSMFC8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Looks similar to the Unicorn Beetle and was wondering if it worked. I just ordered that and The Unicorn Beetle Hybrid: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079BSJH8M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Figured Ive never really had a problem except when I had my S7 Edge that the screen shattered twice. Hoping cause its not as curved that itll be less likely to break as long as I have a decent case on it. But still want a screen protector.

Anyone have Vena vArmor case?

No problem, here ya go. Been installed for almost a month now with no issues, definitely the best combo for overall protection IMO.

I just went with this combo as well. Whitestone said that they haven't had any problems so far with this case so I got it. Now that both are in my hands, it seems initially that it might cause problems... However I don't think the case bezel actually sits fully flush with the glass. There's a soft, flexible barrier used to keep dust out, and I think this is what keeps the comparability. I can try posting a picture if needed but from what I'm reading around I haven't seen anybody claiming incompatibility with the Pursuit so far.
Of course, I just installed my Dome today so I'll let you guys know how the pursuit goes for me.
EDIT: Fits perfectly fine. No part of the case is really touching the glass. Just be careful when putting the case on is all.

Yes it seems like the case come close to the screen, but there is a gap with a barrier which is raised off the glass letting the WhiteStone dome fit.

I have Spigen Liquid Armor, Slim Armor, Ultra Hybrid Clear, and Air Skin.
I'm very sure Air Skin can fit, and also Slim Armor cannot fit.
I need to verify Liquid Armor and Ultra Hybrid can fit. Anyone also using the same type?
Master list indicate Liquid Armor cannot fit, and Ultra Hybrid can fit. But I need a review from the users direct if there's any.

Anyone find a good screen protector film or glass?

Can't find any ones that I like so far. I know the edge makes things difficult but all the glass one I've seen don't have adhesive all over just along the edge and the film one i bought doesn't stay down on the edge so has anyone found a good one or decent one?
Please specify it's full coverage...glass or film...works with case and of so what case

I try using the screen protector that came with the ghostek case I bought install it cover the entire front area of phone plus edges let set for about an hour try to put case on but everytime I did it would lift off the sides of the screen protector so I just took off the screen protector till I find that works. Also try the supershieldz ones same thing.

I was thinking about that one but im not sure about the wet install. I'm good at putting screen protectors on but I've never did a wet install before...i May have to check it out
If you have some time and patience go for the Invisible Shield hd dry full body coverage. I originally ordered a Naked skin from slickwraps but its been processing since the 18th. So when my N7 arrived today I went on the search around town and ended up in a Verizon store. They kindly put it on for me, took two tries lol. Mid-install the Verizon guy just rips it and balls it up and went to grab another. When I got home I went through the packaging and noticed he skimmed me on the install. and didn't install the back.. I tell you what that was the worst torture in my life but hey pics below! Came out beautiful. +extra dbrand lens laying around conveniently . :good: winning
I put on a IQ shield matte. I like the matte finish but it is not for everyone. There is some lost clarity but much less glare and no fingerprints. I like the wet install for no bubbles and being easy. It takes some time to let the edges dry so they will stick. Let it sit at least overnight before using or putting on a case.
My case (Spigen Ultra Hybrid)did cause the corners to lift, a common problem with cases. IQ Shield has since come out with a "case friendly" updated version that is getting good reviews. I've got one on its way.

I ended up buying the skinomi matte screen protector which stuck on the edges perfect. Went without a case for a week and then put the spigen neo hybrid on which is my favorite case of all time and it peeled the corners still. I warmed the screen protector and was able to reform the corners a bit and it helped but i still want a problem free combination
This is the case and glass screen protector that I use. The setup is perfect for me. You could use any screen protector with this case. It also holds the glass ones down and keep them in place.

Without clicking the link I'm gonna guess that's the unicorn beetle case. I have that myself and love it. I use the holster while at work
Great case. It works well with a glass screen protector.
I have an armorsuit on this phone, as well as several tablets and phones prior. Was originally skeptical of the curved edge, but it is working great so far. In the past 6 years armorsuits and common sense have kept me from having any cracked screens. And when I upgrade and sell the old phones, removing the armorsuit has always left a perfect as-new screen (but the housings usually have suffered damage from drops, etc.).

Is your tempered glass screen protector any good? How is the clarity? Sensitivity?
The clarity and sensitivity is great. I have one on my phone and my fiances phone. This is the third one we bought and its pretty close to the flat ones. Just line it up because the cut outs are exact. No room for error.

Screen Protector options

I'm just jumping from the Moto x4 to S9 Plus
My protector option is one from the ************. I really love to have my S9Plus away from the scratches. As I'm having previous experience with the ************so I'm suggesting to get one from them.
They started shipping but I didn't got mine. Have you bought one from them and received it??
I bought the one from BigBen. Fit perfectly. No problem after 1 week. Just improve screen sensitivity.
I just installed the Whitestone Dome Glass on my S9+. Very easy to install and looks great so far. It doesn't seem to be compatible with the Spigen case I bought though, particularly the lower portion, I'm going to let the glue cure a bit longer and try it again.
UPDATE: I had the dome glass installed just a bit too low on the screen. I removed the glass and adhesive, then reinstalled and made sure the dome glass was correctly centered on the screen. Works great with the case now. Highly recommend this.
Bodyguardz is a more expensive option, but lifetime warrenty. I want to say it's about 10 bucks shipping for the warrenty replacements. I got mine at AT&T when I got my s9 plus yesterday. They installed it for me but it comes with a guide thingy like the Whitestone one.

I bought one too, and concur. Fingerprint magnet, and ruins sensitivity. You have to turn on increase sensitivity in the advanced settings, and still it's a bit wonky.

OMYFILM Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Tempered Glass Screen Protector [Bubble Free] [Case Compatible] 9H Hardness Screen Protector for Samsung S9 Plus (S9 Plus, Black)
https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-S9-Pl...rotector+for+Samsung+S9+Plus+(S9+Plus,+Black)
Amazon.com link above. $9.00
Got this on Amazon.ca for under $15 CAD, it's curved, applied with zero bubbles and it works really good after raising the screen sensitivity.
Just installed the whitestone dome, I simply couldn't be more impressed. Make sure you watch the installation video a couple of times before applying… but it is hands down the only protector i will be buying from now on for all of my devices.

Otao case friendly
I got the Otao case friendly version for the S9 Plus from Amazon.com (ASIN: B07BSFLLKY). Rather than give a separate review here, this is what I have added as my review on Amazon. I hope this is allowed.
I had the Otao on my S8 and was very happy with it. On one occasion I dropped my phone. The screen protector cracked, which is what you would expect from a glass screen protector, but it saved the screen of my phone.
I was a bit wary when I read the first reviews of the S9 Plus version (which had a different ASIN number) but then I heard they were updating it. They reached out to me to offer me to try the new one (free of charge) which I just received. The main complaint about the previous version was not enough glue on the edges (it is edge only sticking) but the new version apparently has more glue and it certainly has stuck well on my S9 Plus. Obviously, the proof of the pudding will be it it still sticks well after it has been on a while and I will update my review if it develops a problem.
The installation tray makes it very easy to instal.
I am using it with a Spigen Neo Hybrid case and they fit together very well.
As I said, I did not have to pay for the protector but this review is my honest opinion and, if I did not like it, I would have said so.
Just to add - the packaging recommends turning on the touch sensitivity setting in Settings but so far I haven't found that necessary.

Does the glue cover entire surface of the screen or only the edges?
I’m looking for one that covers the entire screen most I’ve seen only covers partial off the top and bottom so it still looks like there’s a screen protector. I need fill coverage from top to bottom.
Another vote for the whitestone dome!
I've tried several tempered glass screen protectors since the S6+, and they all suck because the adhesive has trouble sticking to the edges so the sensitivity is terrible. The dome is the first I've used that I'm legitimately happy with.
The installation process is really intimidating at first because the process is different from your typical screen protector. But once you do it once and get the technique down, it's actually pretty fool-proof. The tray basically ensures that the alignment is perfect and adheres well. I happened to screw up the first time because my table wasn't fully level and the adhesive didn't disperse evenly and I got a tiny bubble...so don't take that little detail for granted. Luckily they give you two bottles of adhesive, and when I moved to a level counter and put it on a second time the adhesive spread perfectly on its own and it was really easy.

The rugged armor supposedly doesn't fit, which is a shame as i was using that one on each and every one of my smartphones. The tough armor fits perfectly though, and i am quite happy with it. The kickstand might be useful but doesn't seem to be that robust. Time will tell.
Another favorite of mine was the ringke onyx case. That one does not fit.
I've used the Spigen Neo Hybrid in the past and currently the UAG Monarch with the Whitestone and have had zero issues.

I meant in combination with the whitestone dome glass. The upper lipp was just sitting too tight. I didn't want to risk the glass to peel up, so i deemed it as unfit.
You should have a look at this list, made for S9/S9+: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11upU3Lh5bIZl3rPAoN23gCxBDU6MwkNZyEzY01HLUeE
Unfortunately, even if one case from company works, it doesn't mean that the rest are compatible. There are even cases of the same lineup (Spigen Ultra Hybrid) which are compatible and others aren't. In my opinion, if you want an ultra-thin case, then the Torras is the best bet. The Spigen Neo Hybrid is great (got one) for slim ---but adequate- protection. If you want the best protection possible, you should be looking at the UAG Monarch (expensive) or Otterbox Symmetry & Strada
Personally, I gave up on the Whitestone and now got myself an Otterbox Strada. Partly due to VR compatibility (I do AI research and now working on a VR project) and partly due to installation problems; once with the phone sitting tool was weirdly tight (compare to the 2nd kit I got) for the phone and the other it was my fault. Also, I got tired to looking for cases that are compatible. VR
I used that list posted above and this has been my experience so far.
I can confirm that UAG Plasma will push on the Whitestone.
The Spigen Neo Hybrid does work with Whitestone, but there's very little separation between case and Whitestone. The case does extend past the added thickness of the glass, so it will protect the Whitestone if placed face down.
Samsung Alcantara case doesn't seem to push the Whitestone despite seemingly touching. Perhaps the alcantara fibers makes it look worse than it actually is, but I didn't want to take the risk.
I'm currently using a Tech21 Evo Tactical and it gives the largest space to the Whitestone than any of the previous covers above. It's also a very thin case, yet has great drop protection. Lastly, this case provides more face down protection than the Neo Hybrid.
I went with the tech21 evo tactical due to @coiledwire post above

Agreed. My Whitestone install is 99.9% perfect and I don't want a case to mess with it. I'm loving this tech21 case. Its pricy for what it is, but it works really well with the Whitestone, looks nice, and feels solid.

Cheap Aliexpress Loca Screen Protectors

I ordered a $2.15 LOCA tempered glass screen protector on Aliexpress. Purchased 08/28 and received it today 09/17. I live in San Francisco. Overall the quality of the screen is pretty much the same as the Whitestone. This one doesn't come with the plastic alignment case that the Whitestone comes with, but you get a UV light and single bottle of glue. I used the same procedure as Whitestone but just without the guide. Also you don't get any tapes to protect the USB ports, etc. I just cut some packing tape and covered those up. I did ok, there is a small air bubble at the bottom. I hope it slowly cures over time. My experience with Whitestone is that you don't want to push and squeeze too hard. You can barely notice it when screen is on, but I'm kind of OCD so I ordered another and may swap it.
So if you have experience and can wait (Note 10/10+ comes with a screen protector), save some money. BTW, finger print works just fine.

I've installed quite a few LOCA TGSPs. Some I bought LOCA separate and then bought a TGSP and made my own kit. Worked great, was messy AF to install, cause I had NO idea how much to use, LOL. and they all chipped and cracked in a week or two.
I've also bought some cheaper kits that included the right amount of LOCA and a TGSP. They ended up lifting on the edges. Last one I tried was Note 9.
I wound buying a second used Note 9 that already had Whitestone Dome installed by the previous owner, and I loved it. So when I pre-ordered my Note 10+, I pre-ordered a Whitestone Dome for it. Sucked paying over $40, but honestly, I've spent hundreds in the past trying to find the "perfect" screen protector. Don't regret Whitestone or the money spent at all. And the installation tray made it dead simple. It was worth it to get it right the first time.
If I had to change TGSPs, if go with AmFilm, just because they're also getting great reviews are basically half the price. Or I'd go back to a soft screen protector, the Ringke Dual Easy Film. It's just basically invisible.

I haven't tried one on my N10+, but installed them on my Note 9 and my wife's S10+. Neither one had any issues with the edges lifting at all. I wish I had some tricks to offer, but I just followed the directions.
It's funny, when I installed my wife's Ringke on her S10+ I was showing her the difference between it and the Whitestone Dome tempered glass (which are the time was on my Note 9). I was showing her how glass was smoother than her Ringke protector, but to my surprise, my finger actually glided easier across her Ringke than my Whitestone! Now my Whitestone Dome on that phone was a few months old, so some of the oleophobic coating had probably worn off and her Ringke screen protector was brand new, but I was really shocked and just how smooth it was to the touch.
As far as the lifting edges, two thoughts. One, you didn't get it lined up perfectly so maybe something is a little off? A half millimeter either way could make it uneven. But I don't think thats the issue. Two, perhaps the edges of your phone weren't clean enough and had some residual oils? Or three, you just got a faulty screen protector. If it gets worse, try the second one in the pack. If that fails, reach out to Ringke and they should replace it for free.

The lift is really very minor. Only the most OCD types will mind. Thanks for the rec. I agree how easy it's to glide your finger on it. Finger print also works better.

I installed Whitestone on my N10+, but bought a pack of Ringke as a back up. Crack the Whitestone, I can install the Ringke while waiting on a replacement.
But, I think what I'll do is next paycheck, I'm going to order the AmFilm LOCA screen protector and run a little comparison.
I've used Whitestone for a month now and am pleased, but I do think it made the FP sensor less accurate But I'll remove it and install the Ringke and see how I like it, especially with the fingerprint sensor.
I'll use that for a couple weeks then install the AmFilm tempered glass one and compare it to the others.
It means a waste of $40, but in the name of inaccurate anecdotal science, why not? And if I decide I prefer Whitestone after all, it's just a $10 replacement under warranty to go back to it. I'll post my results in a thread here, maybe with some pictures.
Sorry, I know that had nothing to do with your lifting edges. Just thinking out loud. And by out loud, I mean in silence and just typing it.
The lifting edges of ringke, when I installed on my s10+, I found it best to work them down initially then just wait a while before trying again. I waited around 30 mins to 1hr after fitting it and found they stuck down easily.
I struggled with the 1st protector so discarded it but using the waiting method, the 2nd protector sides stayed down.
If you like the original screen protector you can get OEM quality screen protectors cheap on eBay. You want ones made out of PET which are harder like the OEM ones and not the soft TPU ones that you have to install wet and they dent way too easily. I install the PET ones wet though as you have time to move it around on the screen to get it aligned perfectly and you just push out the solution (I spray purple cleaner on the screen before I install) and any dust is removed when you push out the solution.
Just installed one myself that came from aliexpress. It turned out fine but was a bit disappointed that the glass is curvy on the edges like an s10 rather than being "boxy" so the edges are a bit exposed. Can't be bothered though to buy another one and go through the installation again as it took quite some time to get it done. Fingerprint is working fine, just press the fingerprint area while curing for the first time.

I thought using a wet solution would make the glue not stick anymore for the PET types. Also I was told by Samsung that the stock screen protector is applied with a UV light to cure. So it's like a tempered glass install but a thin plastic type?

What do you use, just water or lightly soapy solution?

Cases that work with Whitestone screen protector

Are there any recommended cases that do not interfere with the Whitestone tempered glass screen protector? I know some cases can cause screen protectors to peel up in the corners, since I spent the money on the Whitestone, I want to make sure I don't get a case that won't play nicely with it.
Any recommendations?
Thanks.
I've used the Spigen Neo Hybrid on my Note 8 and now my Note 10. Both have whitestone protectors on them.

Thanks, I had been looking at some Spigen cases since I previously had one on an S7. Decent cases and not expensive either.

Really? I have the neo hybrid on my n10+ and have been eyeing the whitestone. I may just pull the trigger if it works with my current case.
I'm using the flimsy spigen neo flex, dont get me wrong it's a spigen so it works but hate all the finger prints, can scratch easy. The best part of it tho is its case friendly.

It certainly does. It is a perfect fit in my opinion. There is very little space between the screen protector and the edge of the case.
Whitestone protector delivered today, and a complete fail at installation.
I should have known something was up as it was missing the little suction cup, but since I figured that was just needed to remove the guide it should not be a big deal. Watched half a dozen or so videos, felt pretty confident to get started. Took everything slowly, but when I went to move the liquid to the center it kept flowing to the bottom. Even after I laid the phone back flat on my desk, I tried tilting it in the opposite direction, but the fluid appeared to be just running out the bottom between the 2 pieces of the holder.
At that point took everything out and cleaned it off, tried again, this time the glue did not spread to the top of the phone (my desk may not be perfectly level, but it's also not way off either). With the screen protector dropped I tried to coax as much of the glue towards the top as I could. For some reason all the glue seemed to just want to run off the bottom of the phone and then end up between the 2 pieces of the holder/alignment thing. The phone was pushed all the way into it, with the glue initially dropped on the screen it stayed in place, but for some reason after that it just wanted to run off the bottom no matter what.
Ultimately, what I am left with is a bunch of small bubbles and an area around the camera that has no glue. I should have just grabbed a cheap protector and been done with it. Leaving the Whitestone on there for now, even with the bubbles and piece around the camera it is still better than nothing. But, I'm pretty frustrated with the whole thing.
Sorry to hear this, I have been thinking about getting one of thhese whitestone protectors, but then I encounter sad stories, and there are worse ones! I will stick to the tpu/pet/hidrogel ones
It's definitely frustrating as I carefully followed all the steps. The Whitestone does feel great though and the fingerprint reader is not affected at all. Just have the annoying piece by the camera where it didn't stick.
Also, can confirm it works perfectly with the Spigen case mentioned above.
Mostly all of them have worked fine for me so far. I'm eyeing the new Marcel Case by samsung as well .. hope that fits it too
Dang I hope it goes well for me, just ordered 2 yesterday with promo code $52

Good luck, take your time and you will more than likely be fine. What stinks in my case is I can't fix the messed up piece.

Hej...
I'm using Clear Ringke Fusion with Whitestone and there's no problem at all...no peeling on the corners... nothing...
Between case and glass is little space which allows to cooperate perfectly
