Found source for many versions of stock kdz files for UNROOTing LG-G5 (H830) - T-Mobile LG G5 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other

After a long frustrating search, I located a source for H830 .kdz files for older firmware versions (I was searching for v10d) to unroot one of my phones. (If, like me, you've spent hours clicking on dead download links, this is a godsend.)
The site (with many kdz variants) is here.
Warning: Expect to spend 3+ hours to download a 2gig kdz file from this site....
And, if you need it, the H830 un-rooting instructions are here

[Q] a few l7 rooting questions

Sorry if this has already been covered before, but ive been looking around a lot and havent had much luck.
I just picked up a lg optimus l7 in china, and found out that theres no way to access the google play store or add a google account. I looked into it and rooting seemed like the way to solve all that. I'm assuming rooting will allow all the normal android capabilities to return.
I'm fairly computer savvy and feel comfortable going through the root tutorials to root my device, however thee was a few things I wasnt sure about.
One, when choosing the firmware, should pick the one my phone is currently using? for example, my device is running V10c, so I should download the China v10c firmware, right? and then follow the rooting tutorial for v10c firmware? and even though it says china unicom underneath, the phone should still function as it normally did after a successful root, because I am using a china mobile sim card with the phone, llike there is no risk of it loosing its calling and messaging functionality?
Also, will the rooting process affect data stored on the sim card at all? I dont think it does...
Thank you very much, Im sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I have looked quite a bit. Its also kind of annoying to have to deal with chinese internet, so the less time I have to spend trudging through the great firewall the better.
thanks in advance
As far as I know china don't have play store, you can retrieve the file from the other firmware.
I don't think there will be a problem with the messaging and phone when flashing with other firmware. As an example for this is my phone, my phone is from Canada a P705g and I successfully flash it with a v10i and v10k Europe open. And I'm using it here in the Philippines and I'm using the simple blue rom from snx.
You can follow this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163585
Here the author compiled the instructions in one thread.
sent from P705G, flash w/ P700 v10k open eu. waiting for cm9/cm10
thanks for the help,
now im sure this has been answered, but I have been unable to find information on which version of the firmware to select. Does it matter whether you choose v10a, v10c, or v10i? besides the occasional change in rooting process, do they offer anything different?
again, thank you for being very helpful.

actually i really dont know the diff between the versions, most of the devs and users here prefer to use the europe open v10i coz they said its more stable and also the v10k. as you can see on the devs sections they always suggest to use these firmwares because they successfully rooted it. in fact most the custom roms, simpleblue from snx and cyan optimus are based on these two firmwares.
for rooting with v10a, v10c and v10i, you can use petrescu rooting guide here. this is the first guide I used since my phone P705g comes with v10c.
for v10k here.
Alright, so I downloaded the open europe v10c to flash on to my phone after rooting it. Ive followed the guide and had some issues. I rooted the device using the runme.bat program, then I used the lg support tool to try and find the divers, but when I clicked to install the drivers, nothing shows up. So i connected the phone using the install option and it seemed to install the drivers itself. I installed the parser, enabled the enabler and ran the too to flash v10c onto my device. It worked fine and then got stuck at 4%. I was finally able to get it past the 4 % by starting the upgrading while in emergency mode. This works until 99% then the program says it looses communication. It looked like it installed fine, however it will restart constantly when turned on so its unusable.
could this be a problem with the firmware? or is there something else ive done wrong, ive been trying to download another firmware to flash, but i havent been able to get to the download page from the main website, has anyone else had this problem?
im on a l7 p705, does it matter that i tried to flash firmware for a p700 onto it?
thank you very much
My phone is P705G with the original firmware V10c, I was able to root my phone using petrscu's rooting method here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32031942
I was able to flash/upgrade to Europe open V10i which is for [a P700 model. By following the above link where there is [a link how to flash kdz.
Be sure to follow all the instructions. The lg driver, the setting of the phone, the settings of the kdz flasher, etc.
By the way, what os are you using?
I'm using Windows 8.

My Phone is a p705 with v10c
I was able to root fine with the guide, but I'm having trouble flashing another stock firmware. Ive tried europe open v10c and Hong kong v10c as well. Ive followed the guides perfectly, with the exception of the driver installation that i mentioned earlier. When I use the support tool and click to install drivers, a window opens up to select my phone, but no option exists. But I think my phone loaded the appropriate driver. that would be the only situation where I would have gone away from the tutorial, but ive looked around and havent been able to find any information on it.
When I try to flash the firmware, the updater gets stuck at 4%, I've gotten it to work by playing around with things, but nothing is consistent, (ive tried disabling the lg modem, but that doesnt do anything consistantly) then it reaches 99% and im left with a phone that keeps restarting for no reason. Ill try again with the firmware you mentioned and download the europe v10i and see if that does anything.
by the way, thanks for all the help you have given me!

your welcome, chpv. sorry to hear about your problem in flashing, I really don't have any idea whats the problem. Im no expert on this, I just follow all the instructions given here on this forum and so far I didnt experience the same problem as you are. I hope somebody will come and help you.
but for now, can follow this guide here, and use the KDZ_FW_UPD.exe for flashing. install the usb driver first before flashing.
and download the usb driver from here. I assume your using windows.
sorry, I forgot to mention. I'm using windows 7 64bit
Do you know if anyone has been able to flash a different firmware onto a chinese p705? could it just be that the chinese phones are slightly different. I keep trying, reinstalling, going through the steps online, trying other methods ive found as well, and everything just gets me stuck in what i think is called a boot loop. I keep scouring the forums and finding nothing. Ive seen tutorials for harder ways of flashing firmware, but it seems that if all I want to do is flash stock firmware to get the access to the normal google functions, it shouldnt be this difficult. Ive thought about trying the "harder" way, but there are a few steps Im not sure how to do, and there doesnt seem to be a video tutoral
hmmm.
So sorry to hear that, I'm not a developer and just ordinary user so cant really help you much further.
Why dont you try to pm some of the devs here like petroscu and xorox, they are one of the first to root our phones. You can also try normand, or just scan the p700 development thread and pm one those guys that you think can help.

@chpv; if you still haven't successfully root and flashed your phone try this guide here. Its already rooted v10k, w/ unlock bootloader and cwm.
thanks a lot, ill give it a shot, and post results

VZW LG G Pad Return to Stock EASY

I had a hard time getting back to Stock, so I took a little bit of everything, and tried something not suggested for our devices. Here's a zip of a modded LG Flash tool and the 4.2.2 kdz. I'll add the name of the modder who made the tool when I can find his name again. I never hosted a file before so Dropbox is what I got.
www.mediafire.com/download/oo67kaz6fyeu839/VZWLGGPAD8.7z
Any chance you can re-up somewhere else? Dropbox has locked that account down now for too much public traffic.
Is uploading now, new link in a few minutes

dlpkgfile Extraction?

Has anyone figured out how to extract an OTA dlpkgfile? I've seen a lot of topics but none of them seem to go anywhere.
I'd really like to get the stock boot.img and other goodies out of the AT&T OTA.
Thoughts? (Other than - wait for the kdz )
I've asked this same question to no avail. I'm sorry. I have tried many tools, etc. I saw one method that might, but it used Linux, which I don't have.
And before you ask, no I don't remember where I saw it. I just googled for a while.
Thanks for your recovery by the way.

Is there a way to search for someone in my area to hire?

So I've been reading for a couple of weeks now post after post after post. I registered last night in order to ask a question as I just don't know whether I'm doing the right thing or not.
I have a Samsung S4, AT&T unlocked. I use the T-Mobile network though. I'd like to have Lollipop on the phone and from what I've read (lightly) over the past couple of months, the consensus is generally 'No AT&T SIM card, no update'. I've seen the odd poster who said they were able to get the OTA without an AT&T card.
I used the Samsung Kies a few months back, no luck. I called Samsung and they weren't able to assist but suggested the Best Buy Samsung center. They worked at it for a couple of hours, no luck. They know the only thing that's been done to the phone is that it was unlocked at the AT&T store so I could put my T-Mobile SIM in about a year and a half ago.
So I've been thoroughly reading about Odin, TAR, Apoplectic1's capture of the file, bootloader versions and so much more that I'm now stalled out.
I have three files downloaded to my laptop from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ng-rooting-t2926642/post56453108#post56453108 Specifically the OC3 Lollipop section at the top.
However in staring at these three files (2400258.zip, ALL_ATT_I337UCUFNB1_505595_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.rar & Odin+3.09.zip) I'm hesitant to proceed.
I don't care to root my phone. I'd just like to have the Lollipop update without having to sign up for an AT&T phone number. Heck, the guy at the Samsung Experience gave me an AT&T SIM just in case that's what I needed for the OTA download (again, no luck smacking that check for update button as many posts I've read said that my IMEI needs to be registered on the AT&T site in order for it to work). I've read in that post above that I can do Lollipop without root, again I'm okay with that.
There are also SO MANY posts that say "Hey! Here's how to do it in this many steps!" I've read the noob guide on XDA, I've tried to figure out how to determine what version my bootloader is (seriously I'm still unsure if I've found the right thing), and before I dive into watching videos (I did bookmark this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337590) and You Tube ones, at this point I'm wondering if there's anyone in the Seattle area who does this that I could hire who does this sort of thing.
I've even searched the forums trying to find that but I must be using the wrong key search terms.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
I'm not in your area, but...
I think you can do this yourself if you have someone to advise you specifically what to do each step along the way, and to answer any questions you may have. I'm willing to help with that if you want.
I will not be able to be in the forum much during the day today, but I could help this evening, say after about 1:00 or 2:00 your time, up until about 8:00 your time.
First, use an archiving program such as WinZip, 7Zip, etc. to extract the Odin executable file from the zip archive to a location on your laptop. Make note of the location so you can start the program later. Also, extract the NB1 firmware file from the .rar file and make note of the location. The NB1 firmware file will have a .tar.md5 extension, and that is the file you will be flashing in Odin.
I assume you will be using the "Update to I337_OC3 - 5.0.1 and KeepRoot" by muniz_ri since you are not doing over the air updating. Let me know if you feel comfortable proceeding with help.

System.img and boot.img won't do any good if you want to run MM without a problem...whole Bootstack is need it to function correctly,
This is a Mayor OS Update not just and a simple jump from Lollipop to Lollipop (5.0.2 to 5.1.1), just a little piece of advice before doing something else with just these 2 files make sure you know what you are doing or you will end up with softbrick...
P.S. LG have implemented a " *AntiRollback / QFuse v*** (* = 1 or 2) feature*" not sure which version you have with Lollipop or you guys even have this but this mean if you screw up with just these 2 files and they are differrent YOU WON'T BE able to KDZ the Latest LP it will Hardbrick your device for good.
I didn't get yet the update but if i get it before anyone ill post the files.

You can dd the system and kernel while leaving aboot, radio, modem, etc intact. Therefore you're running mm 6.0 without touching anything to do with fuses(aboot, PBL, sbl, radio, or modem)
Would you know how long after it will take for a MetroPCS OTA to go out?
Thanks for offering the help, @DrakenFX. They just started rolling today for T-Mobile. I'm on a ROM so I doubt I'll even get notified and was thinking about doing a kdz back to stock to get it, even if it takes a couple weeks. Here's hoping you can work some magic and I can either kdz MM or flash update to it

As of right now, only the Tmo version is getting it. Metro isn't on the list for the update.

Im using a tmobile rom with a metro phone/service now so I dont see why mm wont work as well.
MetroPCS users should be able to flash T-Mobile KDZs without issues
To get the T-mobile KDZ file link, you can try the lg OTA URL trick
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=[IMEI]
replace [IMEI] in above link with that of your phones and it should give you a link to the kdz file from LGs servers, I can't try it myself as I am a MetroPCS user so it probably wont give me a relevant kdz
I keep getting an auth failed from the above link with my IMEI anyhow so they may have changed the URL though it may be worth a try for others
Downloading 10j bootstack and ReturnToStock now... not sure I'll follow through and unroot just yet, but I'll be ready if it's necessary. I'm still on 10j, never installed the 10L update.

I have a screenshot of what happens when I go to that site and put in my IMEI. I've removed my IMEI and SN for obvious reasons, but I'm not sure what to do with this information now that I have it.
I just had another thought, and although I won't know how to capture it couldn't we use LG Bridge after returning to stock via kdz to update to MM before the OTA comes our way?

I'm still new to this device. Just bought it from MetroPCS about a week ago. I'm used to Samsung devices, but if the LG Bridge is anything like Samsung Kies you should in theory be able to grab the update from your temp folder after the update is downloaded to the PC. I'm excited to see what the community can do for this device, it truly is something worthwhile for the price. First, we need to get our own dedicated sub forum for our device. After work I'll try to reach out to one of the moderators that I have worked with in the past to see if we can finally get this phone the attention that it deserves.

Strange, it's supposed to look like the pic from this post
Edit: it looks like your pic except there's no kdz link in the appropriate xml tags, maybe LG changed something
Here's another question... Do/should I revert back to stock before using LG Bridge or can I just run LG Bridge even though I'm on katana?

That's because the update for MetroPCS isn't available yet. Once we see the source uploaded to the LG open source page, then we can start trying to grab the KDZ for the MetroPCS LG G Stylo
Try with tmobiles bootstack and system!
