[Q] What is latest offical Android version for ATT S7 ? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

I just purchased a new S7 (SM-G930A) and it currently has Android 7.0 and Android security patch April1, 2017. The phone is telling me that there is an update. Is Oreo available for the ATT S7 or is this just a security update ?
Thanks

There is no official OREO update for the SM-G930A model just yet... the official release date is TBD. You can download the leaked unofficial version though in a different section of this forum. The latest security patch is most likely what your available update is slated for.

The last official update I'm aware of is BRA1. Jan 1, 2018. You should have a few between what you're at and the latest.

I got a OTA to BRC1 last night.

Official Android 7.0 won't come until after they test the beta for a month or so...the update you got was a monthly security update PI3. Anything after the PH1 update (update prior to PI3), you won't be able to flash the beta (either via official method or using ODIN unofficially). It'll error. I would be shocked if official Android 7.0 would come before year's end, however, anything's possible I suppose...

Which update do I stop at to stay off of Nougat?

Just got this phone yesterday evening and am starting to get it set up...
It is an XT1607 (US Unlocked)...
I want to stay on Marshmallow...
Which update do I stop at to prevent Nougat from installing on the phone?
There is an update available with version number MPIS24.241-2.35-1-13...
The phone is currently on version MPI24.241-2.35-1 with the July 1, 2016 security patch...
Thank you...
My build number is MPIS24.241-2.35-1-13 and I am on android version 6.0.1 with February 1, 2017 security patch, so I think that is what you'll get if you update. I just checked for system updates and it says my software is up to date. I don't think anyone has reported getting nougat on the XT1607 yet.

Moto G5 Plus Updates

Has this phone received ANY updates? When I run Motorola's update through the Android Settings app, I'm told the phone is up-to-date, but the phone is still running Android 7.0 with a 1/1/17 security patch... is this some kind of joke?
My updates are from September. Not sure what's going on with your updates. You can manually update via fastboot or TWRP if you aren't getting them...

How do I do this?
The UK finally got the May security patch a week or so ago and when i asked Moto UK about updates they were a little terse with their answer.
I have loved my Moto phones since owning a Moto Defy but i have been looking at Nokia handsets and they seem very good for the money and with the promise of timely updates.
There's a thread in here somewhere with all the firmware links for TWRP. Those are all flashable if you have it. If not, there's another thread with fastboot firmware. Just gotta find which you need and get cracking
Hello,
I bought my phone on Ocotber 2017 and i haven't received any updates yet. My latest security patch are from August 2017.
Is this normal?

Yes, I believe the August 1st security patch, Android 7.0 is the latest update for the US variant. Build number is NPN25. 137-83.
I got mine from Amazon UK and it's on the august patch.
It's dual SIM, that might make a difference?
I have the Amazon Prime exclusive version (U.S. XT1687) with 7.0 (NPN25.137-83), Security Patch 8/1/2017

Yep. I'm on RETUS and that is the latest version.
i am using Indian variant and having 1st November 2017's security update.
Can anyone drop the link to download august build stock rom for xt1686
Hello, thanks for the feedback.
5 months without any security update, that's a lot of time.
Mine is on reteu, NPNS25.137-33-11.
Just talked to motorolla on the chat and they said that don't know when the next security patch will be available. For a phone that has release last year on February, the support/updates should be more active. A little bit disappointed with that.

Latest European OTA question

Hi there,
Which latest firmware can I use with my reteu phone? Checking on the phone says "up to date", and on Lenovo european website there are at least two Maintenance Release Notes including updates.
Where to find the latest firmware? I am currently on -35, security patch level - 1 January 2017, kernel 3.18.31
Thanks for help!

Post a screenshot with your device infos and the lenovo page where you found this update so we can talk about this with some datas.
Thanks,
I was reading more about it and I know now that rooted phones will not show updates. Switched to Resurrection Remix with 7.1.2 and I'm very pleased with it so far.

Can You confirm that S6E+ has NOT received Android 8 Oreo?
Can You confirm that S6E+ latest security patch was from January 2019? If not from when?

and for example for S7E that has Oreo + Samsung exp. is it possible to goo all the way back to original 6.0.1 cause I've heard that it may not be possible due to the fact that Android 6 has bootloader version 1 in Odin and since Nougat it has different version and if that happens you supposudly cant roll back bootloaders on samsung stocks
?
