LOS 15 for the Axon 7? - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

I'm kinda lost browsing the Development forum because there are so many threads - is there any chance that we're getting LOS 15 for our device?

That is not the official LineageOS tho.
We should receive official LineageOS 15 some day since ZTE shared the kernel sources and rom for oreo to the devs of LineageOS

Well lineage os 15 can't be released before ZTE's official oreo update. If unjustified dev would do that, he would get in trouble i suppose. Its part of the policy probably.

To my knowledge, the only (unofficial) Oreo thread that is currently active is @NFound 's AOSPExtended one. He has published AOSPExtended, RR and AICP Oreo ROMs with a lot of happy users. I am holding off as I need encryption to work as well as dual-sim and it is not clear yet that they do.

Yes, nfound made an oreo rom. But that one is not from official oreo sources by zte. Only unjustified dev has them. And because lineage os 15 is based on official firmware and kernel sources by zte (since they made them available to LOS team), he has to wait until zte releases oreo themselves before he can publish lineage os 15. At least thats how i think it is. I dont know the contract or policy rules for that

That was related to not getting official COS i.e. Stock ROM won't get Nougat. CM nightlies will be available just have to be patient they don't need to go through CTS

Bacon in bacon? OPO inception.
I'm sure CM14 will come to OPO in an officially branched CM capacity, but probably not a stock OnePlus commissioned capacity. Does that make sense? I'm still thinking about bacon in bacon...

Personally I can't say. But is a small step towards a possible official cm14 (imho)
Maybe this thread wakes up soon, there is bacon cm14 commits
Well, let's analyze it a bit. Official 6.0 release: 05.10.2015. First official cm13 nightly build: 24.11.2015. So, cm release just 1.5 month after official Marshmallow release.
Nougat release date: 22.08.2016. Most likely, we won't get anything usable after 1.5 months. Now we have nothing (nothing official, even official cm14 sources are unusable currently).
I see no reasons to be optimistic. Progress is much slower this time.

It is just the processor support missing, from what I read. Other commits will follow more easily.
And finally bacon commits on gerrit...

Agreed. It will probably be slower this time around since Cyanogen has let go of 20% of their workforce since CM13 was released.

Well, I think I did mine. CyanogenMod and CyanogenOs (from where the workforce was "fired") is not the same. So, please Carry on! This discussion is not useful really. It is discussed to death already.

Which LA 14.1 is the original?

Ok I'm confused as to which dev's ROM I should use. Which lineage is the original and the most faithful to the Lineage Android sources? And which one will be the official build going forward?
Also, may I add, which TWRP is the original one? Which kernel is the original Lineage kernel? When will we get official builds for all of these?

There's no original version, as there's no Official LineageOS builds for our device. Both are close to the official builds, but as far as I can see, HydraHS build is cleaner unlike the other one that uses CAF resources.
We won't get official builds for Redmi 3S because there are not enough mantainers (people with enough knowledge or free time).
TWRP build made by fedosis is the better, try it. It supports all XDA builds and also the latest LOS 13 that, in my opinion, is the most stable custom ROM for our device.
I suggest you to wait a month or some time, at least to a point where the major bugs can be solved, like the sensors not working.

Yeah we dont know why
BUT
Theres some dicussion on the MIUI forum about the Beta Testing of Nougat this end of the month for MIUI. If its true then this is our chance to have Custom Nougat Roms. Fingers Crossed
IMHO, developers have a life too. Their entire life doesn't consist of working on ROMs alone. They have family to feed as well. Nobody is paying them to make ROMs.
I am always grateful for whatever goodness I receive, but it would be unbecoming of me to ask for that goodness.
I'm just really thankful that there is a stable LA 13 ROM, because MIUI is **** and it's getting worse every update. They aren't even trying to improve it anymore.

No official LineageOS builds for Redmi 3s ('land')?

I see a couple of unofficial LineageOS builds for this phone, which are well received by testers/users. However, there is no official LOS build. Why is that? Isn't this phone hugely popular in India and China?

It's because Los guys have high standards (ie. completely bug-free) for their rom.
But soon we'll have our Official rom because a developer has applied for offical tag and it's in process ?

Android 9 Pie Port

Any possibility of Pixel Experience (AOSP) rom based on Android 9.0 Pie for athene?
Not even Athene Oreo roms are out of beta state, what other than a barely bootable alpha of Pie would you expect?
I don't think we'll be receiving pie right now as devs are either busy with treble or making Oreo better
Few developers have created branch for P and started working.. WAIT.. WAIT, AND DON'T ASK FOR ETA, YOU WILL HAVE IT WHEN STABLE ENOUGH FOR USE...

Blame lenovo for the missing Oreo blob's cause they never released official android Oreo version for this device.
The developers here make an outstanding job to get Oreo running WITHOUT the essential drivers.
So now you can answer your questions yourself
I wonder if they will ever release oreo for this device. I lost all the hopes. They even have g5 lineup to update.

Personally I don't have hope too:crying: it will be a shame if they don't do it and will have an huge impact on their image(hopefully)
Their image is already lost. Their priorities have changed. I don't know why they launch so many variants, and struggle later to update so many of them. And the recent 6th gen series gets update support only for a year i think.

Yes ....and for g5 series I don't think so they will get pie...and only one major android update will be given by them From g5 series I think so. And I don't think so we will get Oreo .....not even soak test until now....its been one year and above . so better we guys should try to make a stable custom ROM than depending and waiting for update.

Which are the best Pie ROMs for the Huawei P10 Lite?

Hi guys,
I wanted to try out a new ROM for my device and so, I'm asking you: which are the best ROMs for our device? I know that there are a lot of GSI and other devices compatible ROMs, but which are them? I'm afraid of flashing something uncompatible and causing bootloop, that is a bit hard to face since it's my primary and only device, and for this I'm asking you.
What I need: no great bugs (it will be my daily ROM), smooth feel (I'm kind of obsessed by things like this, call me a fool, but THAT feel is half of the beauty of a ROM imho, lol) and Pie-Based with all the gestures (maybe Google Now in the launcher, but I don't know if this is possible mantaining the gestures).
I hope I'm not asking something that is impossible and thanks in advance for everyone who will answer!
I'd recommend the openkirin RR rom, it's oreo but it's stable as hell and made for kirin chipsets.
