Problem with drivers for the Z17 Mini S for ADB [waiting for device] - ZTE Nubia Z17 Mini Questions & Answers

Hey guys! I'm getting desperate over here and really need some help
Recently got myself the Nubia Z17 Mini S and decided to update the ROM (official from the site, V 2.16)
Next step was getting GApps, and this is my current problem:
First I tried installing the GApps .zip (got it with OpenGApps) with the recovery, but it said the package failed/is corrupt.
There's a recovery on the phone I don't recognize, so I decided to get TWRP.
Got the TWRP image and set up everything for ADB. (using this guide https://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-...tboot-with-drivers-on-windows-quickest-setup/ )
I am able to send the phone to fastboot mode via PC, but once I am there the device manager shows a yellow warning sign on the phone and it isn't listed anymore when listing the fastboot devices.
I guess it's because of missing drivers, but I already tried installing them manually etc.
Maybe I missed something or don't have the right ones? I really hit a wall here...
Thanks for any help!

Hello,
U can download twrp from here and folow guide: http://www. anzhuorom .com/jiaocheng/7310.html
If phone cannot boot to recovery, u should press volume up + power to reboot.
Gapps: Download Gapp full is ok

Ok I installed the Nubia drivers, installed TWRP and everything went fine so far, thanks!
But now after flashing the ROM (put it on the phone with ADB push, since there was no working ROM on it) the phone keeps getting stuck at the boot screen (nubia logo) when starting up.
I tried clearing system, caches etc. and reinstalling the ROM, but still stuck when booting up.
Any ideas?

I got this once. In twrp try to root the device again. Works for me.

What's ROM u use to flash? Do u wipe davik/cache after install?
I just copy original ROm through cable like normal, and install it by twrp

I wanted to try that, but on the official Nubia site it wants me to register on some Baidu service to download the ROM.
I'd do it, but my Chinese is not exactly the best, so I don't know how to get through it.
Do you maybe have a mirror to a 2.10 download?

I don't have any backups sadly, I didn't expect the phone to crash like this.
Can you provide me with one of yours?
And what can the emergency tool do? I can't really work with this sadly :/

I can connect my phone to the PC, but only in TWRP or while it's "booting", since I can't start it up properly.

if u can connect, try use recovery tools.
My back up:
- 06/02/2018: https://www.up-4ever.com/yrbp019vzs50
- 28/01/2018: https://www.up-4ever.com/0o9ggy65ec9j
U should unrar and copy it to TWRP/BACKUPS/ in internal storage. wish it work /

I experienced the same problem with u. Tried to flash v216 rom from TWRP several times but it made the phone stuck on boot logo. Eventually I tried to flash via nubia emergency recovery and i copied the rom file to usb flashdisk and connect to the phone via usb otg before did the flashing process. After it finished you may boot normally again. To make google playstore works, you should download the full version of gapps. Don't try with nano or pico version. And flash it via TWRP. Hope it will help you.

that happened to me too, so after the rom instalation the reboot stucks in the boot logo, but if you go to the recovery and root the phone and then reboot it will boot normaly

Ok, I got the phone running again using the emergency recovery, got 2.16 on it now.
I also installed the GApps, but not a single Google application lets me log in.
I tried adding a Google account with in the Nubia settings as well, but upon clicking "create" it just doesn't do anything (same happens inside the Google apps).
Play Store doesn't even start at all.
I tried multiple packages of the GApps (mini and Full), and tried installing them one time with the app itself, and the other time with TWRP, same result...
I am currently downloading dhvminh's backup and will give it a try, I hope it works...

im just downloading the rom for you now so i can extract the framework, if you pull your battery out, you can either plug in your charger while its off, this will bring up recovery, or while its off, hold vol down and press power, that will take you to bootloader, and just pick recovery from the list, now when in recovery, if you navigate to the mounts and storage menu, choose the option mount usb storage, you can now connect to a pc as a disk drive and copy stuff to your sd card
im having trouble uploading attachments to xda at the min dya want me to upload it to megaupload for you?
AndroHero,
Thank you for helping me out. I didn't know about the vol down press power option which allows you to acces the sd card and intall a new rom. I had the revolution rom 2.0.9 already. It's installing as we speak. Much thanks for the tips!
To early hooray. I choose the option with the revolution zip for a complete install. After the install I selected rebouut system now. Now it stays on the white HTC screen with the text HTC quitely brilliant. Flashing every 3 seconds or so....
What to do now?
Everything is resolved. revolution is up and running again. I had to un the fullwipe.zip and that did it!
THANKS a lot for all the tips....again

Did you do a full wipe before re-flashing your ROM? even if you did just repeat the process , full wipe /cache, /dalvik-cache, /system and then re-flash the rom fingers crossed it should work

Could it be possible that you installed cwm 3005 and tried a restore with that. I had the same problem. Went back to cwm 2.5.x and then restore worked.

I think there will be a lot of scare because of this CWM 3x...
Same happened to me the other day, stupidly accecpted the update prompt from Rom Manager, did my backup and went to install Cyanogen 6... Got stuck at HTC logo next boot.
Thankfuly, had Leedroid 2.0 on the SD, too, and that one flashed properly
Thing is that when I try to downgrade the Recovery to 2.5x I get an error and really can't be bothered with ADB pushing stuff around, so using Cyanogen 7 for the time beeing
Anyhow, CWM 3.x is likely your problem, easy to fix ^^
Wanting to change my theme on the Samsung spica I had theexact problem on cyanogen mod. Had to redo the whole rooting and installing the Rom again to get to work.

yes, is some script...back to recovery 2.x

Bricked Nexus S , got only recovery...

Hi
I got Nexus S that currently is bricked for a couple of month now :-(....
the phone is I9020T (US phone).
I have a recovery image "recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-crespo.img"
But i cannot access the SDCARD whats so ever ..... to put the ROM, i also tried with ODIN in the past ( now i dont rememer...) and it fail as well it seems that when trying to flash the system it got stuck.
The current status of the phone is:
1.It can be boot into boootloader.
2.it can be boot into fastboot.
3.It can be boot into download mode.
But thats it... , when i try to power it regular it just stop in the blackscreen with Google name on it and the lock at the down and stop there.
What can i do ?
Thanks in advance.
Assuming you can get adb to work you should be able to flash the image to the phone straight from a pc. However that's the most help I can offer as I rarely use adb.
Actually just found this guide: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Nexus_S:_Full_Update_Guide
Read it and modify to your needs, NOTE the part "Installing the ClockworkMod Recovery Image" as I think you could follow that but use your stock image instead.

Try to lock and unlock your boot loader via adb. Maybe try flashing original stock rom. The nexus s is hard to brick. I thought I bricked mine but turned out to be a hardware issue that was fixed by Samsung under my warranty.

He means to reboot into bootloader (not recovery), then lock the bootloader with "fastboot oem lock", then re-unlock it with "fastboot oem unlock".
There's sticky threads all over the boards with stock roms, radios, and bootloaders.
Sounds like a bad flash storage. It happens often on these phones. Nothing you can do but to send it to Samsung for warranty. They'll do it free of charge.
Unless you're missing something simple...

Personally, I'd try reflashing the recovery as a first step. re-download it from cwm just in case of some weird corruption or something, grab the latest one and double or triple check whether you get the right one for your phone
Flash it, using fastboot, straight from the PC to the phone. Try the recovery again, see if that helps. If you still can't mount anything then, you've definitely got a hardware problem :/
If it does mount, use adb to push over a fresh ROM or a stock ROM and flash it after a full wipe (/system, /data, /cache, /boot and a factory reset)..
Good luck!
Been there try that ...

When my phone did this I was able to mount it after a few battery pulls. So try doing the procedure to mount USB storage and if it fails pull the battery again. I'd say give it about 100 tries. If it doesn't work it most likely will never mount. However if at one point it will, load and flash a rom. The only problem you will face is again after rebooting you'll have to keep trying to the same way to get pass the Google logo.
I know it sounds strange but this was my situation and that's how I got by until they replaced the unit for me.

Phone Bricked? Please help

So I rooted my RAZR M using motofail2go, and all was well.
Installed 'RAZR-M-Safestrap-3.12', as I was going to flash a custom ROM. I first backed up my Original Rom using the backup function.
I then wiped 'System', and went to flash the new ROM, but the flash did not work, so I restarted.
Now the problem is when the phone reboots, it showes the Safestrap splash screen with the Recovery option and start normal, but it is not working, as not sensing my inputs or something, after about 5 sec it goes to a blank screen and sits.
I tried to hard boot into the Android System Recovery, and tried to download an official Verizon ROM and install using 'apply update from external storage' using my micro sd, but I keep getting an error E:signature verification failed.
Does anyone know where I can find an official ROM to set it back to normal so I can use my phone again?
Thanks in advance.
Also: My phone originally had 4.0.4 version.

if you can get back into recovery, you should be able to press "restore" assuming you backed up your previous ROM.

What you might want to to is use RSDlite and flash that image you downloaded. This seems like it would help you, though I have not personally tried it:
http://www.andromods.com/tips-trick...oid-razr-m-xt907-stock-original-firmware.html
EDIT: And once the flash is complete, I would reboot into recovery again and wipe data and cache and then let it boot into the phone.
EDIT 2: Oh, and in addition to RSDLite, you will need the Motorola USB drivers so your computer can see the phone over USB.

Hello.. I am afraid that in panic i might have formatted everything with TWRP. That might include a rom file.
I tried the power volum buttom---- Got to the white screen----pressed power button to confirm format----It rebooted and got me to the same Team win screen
I also tried putting the following in the terminal command but ended up stuck at the LG boot screen Logo
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
Yes I did. It asked me to reboot, so I did. and after reboot it gets stuck at the LG boot Screen logo.

that should put you to the moment before you took ota if you want stock you have to use this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 after you get out of bootloop
If teamwin is actually loading you could just flash a rom through there?

To go back to completely stock you will have to do it with a kdz, there is a guide here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625044
Otherwise the easiest solution would to be to flash a flashable rom either stock or aosp, there are now stock kitkat versions flashable but for me to help you with this i need to know what recovery version you are on and your phone variant.
I am having a similar issue, I've wiped my stock rom using TWRP, unfortunately the Rom I was trying to install is corrupted and now I am stuck. For some reason Mount and ADB sideload options arent doing anything for me i.e. my phone does not show up on my PC.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ok so the phone does show up under device manager but Windows is complaining that the drivers arent installed. I know the drivers are installed because I used the same machine to root the phone not too long ago via ADB and everything worked fine. I've tried downloading drivers from LG site and re-installing them but for some reason the phone still isnt getting recognized under device manager

Did understand some part of . Is this KDZ file a ROM? And how and where should I paste these to Install the ROM?
If TeamWin is failing to install the rom, Is there any other way to flash the rom?

Ok one of your problems will be that that version of TWRP is very outdated now and has a lot of issues,
Start by downloading this version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449679 and flashing it via twrp that will give you version 2.7.0.0
(You can use adb to push this file to your phone to flash or alternatively, the easiest method is either a usb otg cable or otg flashdrive then you can just put the files you need on flashdrive and plug into your phone).
Then if you want a stock based rom and don't wont to follow the instructions from the link i gave you the other day you can install this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2505682
Just follow the instructions on the page, this ROM is basically completely stock with some added tweaks.
The issues you have been facing with the rom installs failing will most likely just be caused by the outdated version of twrp you are using.
Hope this helps and good luck.

[q] possible brick? Error loop

Hi guys!
Yesterday, i used towelroot to root my phone, and installed Safestrap with TWRP as my recovery.
I booted my phone after everything was done, and it worked fine. This is where i screw up... I installed Softkeyz (I thought it might work for the Note 3, but...)
After i installed Softkeyz, and rebooted the phone, my status bar was gone, the background was blue and my task manager didnt work. I went back into the softkeyz app and clicked the "backup" button, wich is said to revert everything back to normal. It didnt.
When i booted my phone after the backup, I still had the same problem.
I then did a Titanium Backup, and went into recovery to factory-reset. it seemed to work, but when my phone boots, I get to the languane selection screen, and then this pops up: "KeyguardTestActivity has stopped". If I click 'OK', the same message pops up and im unable to click "next" or select a language.
I went back into recovey, wiped dalvik, wiped cache, I event formated /data in case there was any virus or anything I had downloaded, did a factory reset, and it stil doesnt work....
I had a ROM on my phone, but it used AROMA so that doesnt work with Safetrap... Now my memory is clean, my phone wont boot, and I cant move any files to the SD-card through regular MTP. I guess I have to use ADB (safetrap can sideload ADB) but I have no idea how to use that, and I have no idea what ROM to use, to get my phone up and running.
I use my phone for work and for studies, and the only reason I wanted to root was for AD-blocker and better batterylife...Now I've messed up..
I've tried searching google and the forums, but cant seem to find any fix. Can anyone out there help me? Please?
EDIT: If i boot the phone WITHOUT the simcard, the error message is gone, but if the screen locks, then in wont unlock. Taskmanager still doesnt work. I managed to get to phone running though, but without taskamanager and a working lock-button.... any help?
EDIT2: after rebooting without the simcard, the same error shows...

Hello again ok so I don't know a great deal about the note 3 or safestrap. But you have a few options here.
if I'm not mistaken the note 3 takes an external SDcard? can you not copy a compatible Rom using a card reader and install from recovery?
I also believe Fastboot works with note3 but not sure how. you could use this to flash a recovery that will work with the Rom on the phone.
or as drastic measure you could adb pull your data and flash it with Odin. flashing with Odin will wipe everything and return you note3 to out of the box condition.

Hey man!
I'm so embarassed I didn't think of the SD card... Now my only problem is that I cant seem to find a ROM that will work... I tried the heisenberg one, but it says "failed" when trying to flash it...
EDIT2: It seems as its my lockscreen that is broken. would that be assosiated with the Kernal? I got a ROM, and it worked, but the same error still occurs..I'm thinking that the Softkeyz-app messed with my kernel, and now killed the phoes lockscreen/kernal. Need a new kernel I guess... but thats messing with something I've never done... any stock kernel?

sorry dude don't know what to suggest, I don't know safestrap, is it necessary to use or can you use a normal recovery? Safestrap seems very different compared with a normal recovery as it bypasses locked bootloaders and allows for multibooting roms. Are you sure you set it up correctly? Did you make a recovery backup before you started flashing anything?
personally best answer I can give you right now is flash an ruu with Odin to get your phone working, then try rooting again after you've researched it a bit.

The link below has a list of stock firmware. Find the correct one for your phone model and download it. At the bottom of the page there is also a link to download Odin and the phone drivers if you need them. As long as you can boot to download mode you can unbrick from pritty much anything with this.

You can also use Odin to root and install CWM recovery. There's a guide in the link below for this

As long as you have correct firmware should be fine, wrong firmware won't flash though so don't panick about that
also make sure you run Odin as administrator and use default options don't tick any boxes manually
