Feed quality is terrible with no setting to select better quality feed. Hide scores keeps defaulting to OFF every time you launch. Think I'll stick with Kodi til they get these issues sorted.

It takes like 30secs longer to "buffer up" .. compared to the phone/tablet app.

Has anyone had luck with this on an AirTV Player box? I've got it installed, navigation works great, upcoming preseason games are displayed on the schedule... but when I attempt to watch a video the app crashes and I'm taken back to the Android TV home page. Would love to have this for the start of the season but I'm guessing the AirTV Player is the limiting factor here.

Ensure your host.ini file is not modified.

Just wanted to say... Tried this today and it works fantastic. Thank you so much.
Sideloaded with E$ File Explorer, installed with no issues, working great, loads feeds immediately. Was also able to add to home screen with no issues.
Only recurring issue, Hide scores does not stick and gets toggled off everytime.

Here is the folder with all the nhl apks Oct 10th is the most recent I believe.

I just set up a Nvidia shield and didn’t know about the limited google store. I subscribe to Rogers NHL and get it on all my other devices but with this NHL app, everthing works but when I go to watch a game, it asks for my name and pw and says I have the wrong credentials. There is a place in the app where Rogers customers are directed to go to sign in on the Rogers site so I go there and when I choose to watch a game, it redirects me back the NHL app where I just came from and it starts all over again. I think it’s close to working but I’m stuck now and was looking for some pointers. Thank you.
Edit: I transferred the NHL apk from my working x96 box and installed it but it works the same as any unmodified app and won’t open.

I have the same issue. I'm a Rogers customer and it won't accept my credentials

The updated modded version in OP's link immediately crashes. I am wondering if it's because it's v1.0.0 and possibly out of date?
The current version is 1.2.2
Can anyone modify this one to remove the amazon app store requirements or explain how it's done?

Great , I will . Easiest way is to send me a pm or post in this thread
when a update is out and I'll upload it to my MediaFire folder.

The way I check updates, is by pulling up the desktop version of amazon . Search for the app. Scroll down and there should be latest update date listed.

The NHL app is officially supported on the Shield now.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nhl.gc1112.free&hl=en&rdid=com.nhl.gc1112.free

NHL.tv is now officially available on Android TV, so you don't have to use a modified Fire TV version.
You can get it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nhl.gc1112.free
Or just go to the play store on the Shield and type in NHL.
I just installed it and it works great. Identical to the fire tv version.

[CONFIRMED] New Google Market working with MarketAccess in Canada

I just rooted my I9100 XXKG3 Bell phone with CF-Root and installed MarketAccess to allow downloading of US restricted apps. The cool part about this app is that it actually works with the new market version. Notice how my Bell Canada Galaxy S2 phone shows as being enabled into Market:

So far I installed Google+, Books, Music and TV Remote (I plan to get Google TV soon), all working perfectly with my US Google Apps account. So it is possible to get/use US based applications in Canada.
For those interested to learn more how I did it, I use StrongVPN as service for a US IP address in New York and have a Cisco E4200 DD-WRT router connected to my Netgear ProSafe VPN Firewall SRXN3205 router. In this way, I get the best of worlds... a wireless Canadian and US IP address. I got this setup going originally because I wanted to see all the US based movies for Netflix on my TV, while in Canada. I used a free Google Apps account and set it to United States as base country. I can sync now my mail, contacts, music, videos, etc. with one single custom account (@yqed.com) on both my Samsung Galaxy S2 and Tab. For paid apps, I use my regular Canadian credit card, it works fine to purchase any apps. The key (I think) is the Google Apps account to be set in United States.
Here are some screenshots:
hmm... i'm using the latest Android Market and /or Google Market and i don't even need to do any of that
it works just fine in Windmobiles
Do any of US restricted apps install and actually work for you? You have a Canadian provider SIM card in your phone? One thing is sure, it does not work with Bell... as soon I disable the MarketAccess, all US apps are gone. All my restricted apps work properly, for example I'm able to sync music from my PC to all my devices with Google Music. The songs pop right away into app. I was also able to rent and watch a video from Google Videos, not that I plan to use this service but still...
More updates... I noticed that even if I disable the MarketAccess, I still have full access to restricted apps in my browser. I removed the app, did a cache cleanup with CWM and restarted the phone. The apps are not visible anymore into Market but I was able to install fine Google Videos from the browser. That is nice... Let see if Google remembers my fake carrier forever.
Has Google lifted market restrictions? I just tried searching for an app that before I was restricted to and I was surprised to see I can download it now!
Heh, really? What app was it? Before installing the MarketAccess today, I was getting the dreadful "This item cannot be installed in your device's country" message.

Ooops... not really, maybe just the app became available, still can't access Google Music... too bad
That is easy to fix, you only need a VPN provider. Then it will work.
The secret is to actually have the router running as VPN server, or else your app will detect the Non-US IP and fail miserably. DD-WRT does that very nice.
will try that but how about if I'm away from the router? Will MarketEnabler do the trick for Google Music?

You only need MarketAccess (MarketEnabler is confirmed not to work with the new Market version) to install the Music app and you need an US IP to configure it for the first time into your phone. This is critical, using a VPN directly into your phone won't work. If the app detects an non-US IP, it will not enable the streaming features over a Google account. Once the software link is created to your account, you can use/stream music from any IP in the world. It would be pretty useless to have the app if Google allows you to download your music ONLY when you are in States.
I tested the app to upload new songs from PC with my Canadian IP, as well streaming music on the Music app. It works as intended. This how the app streams a 320kpbs song:
This is how the app widget looks like:
I see... Thanks for the heads up, will get to setting up a US vpn first prior installation. The app looks really cool, something to look forward to.

Android Market Works In Browser 6.2.1

UPDATE:
Apparently the URL redirect was eliminated but you can only download through the browser, at this point, if you had the Android Market app (or maybe just GoogleFrameworkServices) prior to the update!
I was thinking that Amazon was loosening their grip by removing the redirect but it turns out that they just realized they don't need to block it because you can't download anyway :/
I didn't see this posted here yet...
Since the 6.2.1 update have you tried accessing the official Android Market in the browser? Not only was I able to access the Market, in both Silk and Dolphin, but I was able to successfully install apps (I only tried Words with Friends and Yahoo Mail at this point).
Even when I was rooted before the update if I type the url into the browser it would still redirect to the Amazon appstore so I assume Amazon loosened their grip on this?!
Try it out! Hopefully this works for everyone and isn't a fluke with my tablet!
I tried to post screenshots but apparently I haven't posted enough yet /

Wow - just checked it out. I can verify this now works.
So I ask myself since I am just above the general users typical use, now with Android Market open, do I need to root anything in the future?

Awesome, I'm glad to hear it!! Were you rooted prior to the update? I had been rooted and even after the 6.2.1 update I have a working Android Market app so I was wondering if that was why it was working in the browser.
As far as reasons to root... when custom ROMs start popping up there will be more reason. In the meanwhile all the Google stuff can be accessed through the browser
thats weird, did you have android market installed before updating (to 6.2.1) ?
all reports saying that amazon no longer blocks access (redirection to amazon's own appstore) to the android market website "but" you can't actually install from the market website
can any one else confirm that
I read this on Engadget earlier, this news is absolutely fantastic. The ability for normal market apps on non-rooted Kindle Fires is a huge plus for the tablet, even if many Market apps don't run on the stock OS.
As for rooting, it is mildly annoying that Amazon is choosing this route, but understandable. From a cost perspective, it is very expensive for them to deal with all the users who think they brick or actually brick their Kindles during the root process or the installation of a custom ROM.
Yes - rooted with Market Place already installed. Good for me - not so much for my bud who just picked up the KF. I am sure he is sitting there going "what is he talking about!".
You can look but no touch.
I picked an app (AirPenguin...haha) and it noted "sending to Kindle" - so it recognizes the device as well.
I am not sure what to make of it for now.
Custom ROMs - yeah, I don't have those skills yet. I only rooted following the thread last week... and then stopped Perhaps if the root ever is accessable again, I will give it a go. Maybe....

Yes, I had the Market App installed before and after the 6.2.1 update. When I accessed the Android Market via the browser I just logged in and navigated to the free apps and tried a few. Since my original post I have download a half dozen (including the XDA app ). I was able to pick from the list of my devices, I'd select Amazon Kindle Fire as the device and the downloads worked flawlessly.
The apps are either compatible with the device or not. When comparing apps to what I can potentially download through the app vs. the browser I can see no difference.

nope you are right
we just gotta find a way to associate without root
Although it's great that we can add market apps without sideloading i really hope that someone is able to root the kindle once again. The whole reason I bought this thing is so I can tweak the hell out of it.
Plus you know we are all going to want ICS on it once the ROMs are done. I am just totally bummed because I was literally sitting down to install CM7 when my update happened.
Still not all apps work I tried fontline commando and said not compatible or sometime along those lines
So the market stopped working for you guys after the update? I got updated to 6.2.1 the the market stills works fine through the app for me. What up with dat?

OK this worked, and now I've broken it trying to fully fix the Android Market App.
Some others have said reinstalling GoogleFrameworkServices.apk will fix the Android Market place if it stopped working post update. After reinstalling this app (the same version I originally installed, but from the sdcard instead of /system/app) I now get a Market Force Close when I try to installer through the browser, and also on every Kindle reboot!
Anyone have any idea? How do I undo this!
Google should release a root for the kindle fire #payback
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Wow, works for me too! I was rooted before and I had the market. I ran it from the kindle launcher slideshow and it worked! THe only thing that doesn't work like it used to is that the default lock screen is still there when I use widget locker.
I have yet to find a version of the market that won't force close under either dolphin or the amazon fire default (silk) browsers on 6.2.1. I have also just found out that amazon has just changed the market around so that you can't even download free apps without one-click enabled and a credit card in place... I am not prepared to do that for my teenager - I love her to pieces - but one bump and I owe? No thank you! So I figured I would go this route instead. Now without rooting it, I have the free market store installed and she's good to go. You guys rock - thanks!

N app compability list

Hey all. I thought I'd start a thread where we can track what apps are not working for N. This aims to help us both using N, to have a place to track, and those who potentially want to use it, but may be hesitant due to app compability.
I will update the thread once daily. This will only list apps that AREN'T working in some fashion.
Please, feel free to contribute.

Running beta of which? Facebook? Yes, I am enrolled in their "beta" program. Things were stable prior to moving to N.

Hotspot not working here either.
Also can confirm TWC TV is not working well, as stated it crashes every time upon clicking "Live TV." Google Messenger does force close galore for me as well.
Another one not working for me is the not very popular Salesforce1 app. It just constantly flashes the opening splash screen and never loads the actual app.
Instagram does work for me, although along with most of my other apps it flashes up warning messages about libraries upon opening it.
Not sure if its just me but Netflix just shows a black screen but plays audio. It was working when I first flash the preview but it stopped working recently.

Half-Life 2

Has anyone else attempted launching hl2 on their switch? I've once managed to see to valve intro with sound but it crashed shortly before reaching any menus. I've reinstalled it and now it no longer crashes and I can hear the valve intro sounds but I receive this error:

Before getting this error I have attempted to use gltools without any obvious success.
Have not tried HL2 specifically, but Portal has been running very well for me. Also—I have the same error message pop up when the main menu loads in Portal, *but* it has no effect on gameplay, the game, menu and levels still load just fine.
I'll download HL2 and give that a try to see if I can get it to work.
Edit: One issue I do have even with Portal running well otherwise is that there are black bars on the right side and bottom of the screen. I think it has something to do with the nav bars, but it still happens even if I hide the nav bar.

I bought Tomb Raider and have the same issue. Are there ways to get it working by circumventing the license check? Not sure if we're allowed to discuss that here, but I mean I just want to play something I legitimately paid for...

Where can I buy the games to try them out? It doesn't show any of them on the play store for me. If I go through google it says the games aren't compatible

If you installed shieldfier and still says incompatible you can install a magisk module called "_something_ a road to vendor apps" can't recall the full name.

Hmm it's not showing for me on the store. If i find it through google it says the app isn't compatible with my device anymore. I installed the shieldifier.zip again and still the same problems

Yea having the same issue with metal gear rising. I guess someone will have to find a work around. I tried to use lucky patcher but could get anything to work. If someone could try it also that would be great.
so... no luck? what is shieldfier? what about the module?

shieldfier is a flashable zip so your switch will be identified as nvidia shield.
It is in the first post of (Unofficial) Android release
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ni...opment/rom-switchroot-lineageos-15-1-t3951389
So I bought HL2 Portal and Metal Gear Rising on my Switch via Google Play Store. If I use app screen resize to force resolution to 1920x1120 everything works perfect docked or in portable mode for HL2 and Portal. No matter what I try I cannot get my legal Metal Gear Rising to validate with Nvidia after it logs into the correct Google Play account. I read an app called Lucky Patcher can help but I don't know how to use it...
Question to people who have played HL2 and Portal on the Switch: is it possible to aim using motion controls (gyro aiming)?
And, by the way, did anybody manage to make Metal Gear Rising work?

I don't think the gyro works, because the game was developed to be used with the Nvidia Shield Controller, not Joy-Cons. Got to Ravenholm, but not having true analog on the Joy-Cons is a little frustrating.
I had the same verification problems with Metal Gear Solid 3 HD. Tried a bunch of stuff with Lucky Patcher, but no luck

[SOLVED] Amazon/Alexa Apps SSL certificate Error

Hello
Hello, i'm facing some issues with the following apps:
Amazon App: "please check internet connection and try again."
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This occurs when I want to login, after I put in my login details.
Alexa App:
"Certificate error. Please update Google chrome."
This one after opening the app.
New XDA Forum App:
And this one when I want to look at forum thread.
I checked my time settings, wiped cache in recovery and wiped app data of chrome/webview. I also deleted chrome with magisk debloat and installed it again via play store.
Anyone knows how to fix this? In chrome I have no issues, everything working in the browser. I'm rooted on the latest oxygen 11 11.0.2.2.
Thank you.

Do you have adaway running? Others have been saying this is related to the webserver in adaway. I turned that off and this seems to have gone away for me.

I turned the integrated webserver in adaway off and now everything is working as it should.
Thanks for your own followup. Saved me some search time ! I tried installing both certificates the "new" adaway app proposes but to no avail so I also just stoped the webserver (which never caused such issues before the "new" adaway)

Amazon app error when web server enabled (5.0.10) · Issue #2266 · AdAway/AdAway

Seems we can reanable and just whitelist amazon a'd xda
Thank you, this did it for me as well. I searched google and ddg for a couple hours with no luck finding the suggestion of turning off the integrated web server. Alexa nagged me about Chrome needing it's certificate updated, Amazon shopping just kept on saying an error had occurred. A little more verbosity from the programmers when an error occurs would be nice.

I was resigned to the fact it just wouldn't work.
I turned off Adaway ad blocking and the Alexa app works
Absolutely sick and tired of Amazon.
The amount of money that guy makes from people buying from Amazon and he wants adverts to be forced or things don't work.
He reminds me of the bad guy from Ready Player One.
A complete douche kebab.
PS: yea the fix is to disable adaway, but I pray someone finds a way round that.
I absolutely loathe ads.
If anyone is curious, you don't have to turn the integrated web server off to use Amazon. Just add *amazon* to the Allowed list, hit apply and reboot.
