[ROOT] Magisk v16.0 for Zenfone2 - ZenFone 2 General

As you may know, Zenfone2 needs a boot signature or it will stuck at bootloader.
But the Official Magisk zip doesn't have it.
Here's the patched zip for Magisk 16.0.
Changes:
Added bootloader signature.
Removed arm, arm64, chromeos files to reduce zip size.
Kept x64 files if you build a 64bit ROM for your Zenfone2, although I didn't find any.

Sorry I didn't have one so I didn't test yet, anyway,Magisk is using boot patch to work so if you worry it may cause any problem, just backup boot partition using twrp and then flash it,if there's any issue you can just restore back。

Hi, is there any instruction?
I'm using Resurrection Remix-N 5.8.5 with custom atom kernel. Can I just reboot to TWRP and run magisk uninstaller, and then magisk 16?
Or do I have to flash rom, google, etc again?

Is this better than flashing latest official Magisk and then flash that boot signature zip from another thread?

also work for Z008D x86..tested by me..thanks

Thank you for this.
I was stuck in TWRP after installing Magisk(w/o this patch), and was panicking. Luckily stumbled on to this thread right when I was about to call it quits. Did not know about the Boot signature verification needed for ZenFone. Initially was not sure if it would work for my phone: ZenFone 2 ZE550ML / Z008D model as you had put 'Z00A' in the file_name. But it worked! Thanks again.

not working on mine ze551ml (Z00A/Z00AD), it goes to dead android icon

When? During the installation? After tried to reboot?
What ROM? What recovery (with version)? What bootloader (Loolipop or Marshmallow)?
Z00A or Z008?

Magisk v16.0 in Rom Custom Mokee.

My Z00A was stuck in a bootloop after installing the official Magisk package. It kept booting into TWRP.
Your package fixed the bootloop, but I can't seem to get the SafetyNet check working.
Root access to applications work fine, but SafetyNeet is not funcitonal. Any tips on getting this to work?

Magisk is a pain in the ass... The hassle to install and etc is not worthy for such a few modules..

Yes, it's enabled for the apps I want to hide root from, but it doesn't work. Those apps still realize the phone is rooted.

Wifi forget fix ?
Vibration fix ?
Thos is what i did but its something like a temporary solution.Essentially you are downgrading your bootloader and installing a beta/non complete kernel. We must wait for a custom recovery to work with rhe new bootloader
Hello, I followed the steps and everything was fine, I just noticed that I no longer have the feedback of the vibration on the soft keys and you can not enable them !!
I think thats an issue related to hacker kernel. Try the spaceX kernel

OK! So, i flash SpaceX kernel and then install SuperSu v2.65 and i checked and i got root! After that, I install TWRP Recovery from Google Play, download t.w.r.p.3.0.0.0 through this app and install it! "Proceed to atemp to recovery" > "Yes" and now i'm in SG S6 logo and... a big bull****!!!
What can do in this phase? Re-flash the ROM VOD for 920F version or what...?

Need to root the S5 G900H with Marshmallow firmware help needed

I have bought the new S5 upgraded to marshmallow firmware that released yesterday. However, none of the tools are working for root....I tried to flash the twrp using odin first it didn't work and it gave the error as seandroid enforcing....and not booting...to recovery volume up+home+powerkey after removing the battery immediately...
But the phone boots up normally to recovery...I broke the actual recovery and not able to root as I can't get the recovery to work....
I did use ODIN for stock lollipop to marhmallow and also for the TWRP recovery...please confirm if any issue is there with the newer knox that is blocking the rooting for these devices... need help
Don't start yet flashing thing for 6.0.1 of G900H.. Let's wait official things from xda such as recovery, root..

did you find a solutin?
thank you very much.
After 4 days of hard work, the installation was finally successful.
I tried to install it on MIUI 11 via magisk, but it didn't work.
I tried to install it on two versions of MIUI 10 and two versions of MIUI 8 eu via recovery , all of them didn't work
I tried to install epic ROM, but ended as bootloop.
Finilly, I tried MIUI 8 Global version, it works!!!
