The last updates - Huawei Honor Note 8 Questions & Answers

I use a Honor Note 8 for almost a year, with great satisfaction. I kept the B029. I had read very bad feedback on the B332. And obviously we must go through it before having another update notification. I do not know which version we arrived at today. And especially how are the latest update?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

I'm using your very good LRS ROM https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-note-8/development/lrs-v1-0-honor-note-8-b350-t3616054
but the Revision Date you have is only November 2017. Did I miss something?
Thanks.

I must have answered this question a million times now. Only Samsung knows when the update will drop and they don't give any notification beforehand. Anyone who tries to say otherwise or tries to tell you when they think it'll drop is merely speculating. So the update will come when it does, whether that's today, tomorrow, a week, a month, a year, or never. Nobody here knows at all when
When it does come out, I would guess you will get android 5.1.1. That's what the 8.0 models are getting, and their updates started later than the 10.1 updates
Also, this has been bugging me for a while, do you and DUHAsianSkillz have some sort of intercontinental franchise going? :silly:
Speculation:
↓
Samsung bosses gave mid month deadline to tab 4 updates, it reads in youmobile, so firmware should come in a week or max 1.5 weeks! otherwise some ppl r gonna lose their jobs

YouMobile told that Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 can expect update at late july or early august. Maybe there is any chance for earlier update as we all know that even samsung doesn't know when update will be pushed into ota .

PLK-L01C432B320....what is it about

Hi Community,
being in Austria the whole last week and received above mentioned update on Tuesday. No idea whether it has been distributed in entire Europe and I am quite surprised, that I do not find anything on the internet incl. this forum about this update.
The update came OTA (268MB) and it is saying that performance and stability should be improved.
Does anybody know, whether this is just an update of the Marshmallow Beta versione or is this already the stable release?
Thx a lot for your feedback and explanations!
This is just an update of béta version
The final one should be end of March but..........

Mm Feb source please....
Latest source android authority says within the following weeks which to me will be end of March.
http://www.androidauthority.com/android-6-0-marshmallow-update-649110/
They didn't say next week which would mean Feb! Sorry.
Huawei are terrible for updates historically.

Well it's the only official confirmation regarding marshmallow release. I decide to trust honor india.
Imo it doesn't matter if it's two months old because it's still legit

S7 Edge Nougat Update G935FXXU1DPLR

Which Country has received the S7 Edge Nougat Update G935FXXU1DPLR?
https://www.sammobile.com/2017/01/04/samsung-rolling-out-nougat-for-the-galaxy-s7-to-some-users/
I really don't know. It appears on some web sites but any links to download yet

It seems Samsung deploys the update for those using the Beta program first. Just to make sure there wont be any big problem on too many smartphones. It should come soon for everyone
Dont forget the network/carrier stage may delay your updates! Im not expecting mine until June at the earliest based on prior timescales.....
Call me sceptical, but it's now been 2-3 days since this news came out and so far nobody has said that they've got this update... Is it just a big load of crap so Samsung can say that they've released nougat?
There's about 15 websites spreading the same news around but still no proof?

I entirely agree with you... I think that if people would "really" have received the update, at least one of them would have captured and shared it here.
Absolutely it looks like it is Fabricated.....may be the screen shot too.
Did not Beta Developers say that the update is being rolled out with Android 7.1.1?
Hi, I'm on Vodafone in Uk. I received nougat V 7.0
beta upgrade today.
Selected Poles
Got a Software Update notification tho no update is available, guess they're setting things up (BTU Beta 5)

Mister Optimist!
I was on the Beta program since inception and I don't have the update yet. BTW, I've an unbranded, unlocked UK S7E if it matters
it seems that update for Europe could land next week

Final version out. Beta testers first in line.

It's only for the G935F/FD.

Has AT&T abandoned support for S7 Edge?

It's now mid-February and we're still on the November security update. Several high-risk exploits have been found and patched in the subsequent months, but we're left exposed. Anyone know if we have any legal remedy for AT&T's dereliction?
Well there is a android N build out now on Xda with the latest February security patch so I doubt AT&T has abandoned support.

I'm glad xda has not abandoned support, but that doesn't excuse AT&T for failing to push out the updates.
Looks like it's coming out OTA this evening!

Not sure why. Several days elapsed between those two posts. And while It's good that we have this update, three months is still too long to wait for monthly security updates.

The pure irony of the 2 comments less than 1/2 hour apart

Well, both comments are accurate, but you're right that the timing was amusing.
Nougat came last night for me, shame it takes months for such high quality and priced phones

ANDROID P for u ultra

I know it's too early to ask this question, but I wonder if there is any chance that our phones get android pie update ? HTC did not confirmed it yet, though. What do you think about it ?
It was a notable omission from the list of phones due to get P in their recent tweet, however I've also heard its just going to be super late ie Q2 2019. For what it's worth I've sent like a dozen emails to HTC none of which have been replied to, simply asking why I'm still on march 2018 security update and when the phone is getting P.

Nothing. I send them a tweet or email every morning with my breakfast.
Guys just unlock the bootloader and flash the android 9 rom based on LOS in development section. You can have android 9 right now.
Oh I definitely will once it's out of beta.

If it were just a hobby I'd jump right in now, however this is my only phone that I also use for work. Best to wait a couple weeks atleast.
