Cannot. Just that.
You need TWRP first, and for TWRP you need PC. After installing TWRP, you can root or change to any ROM of your liking

Is that 3s plus is same as prime can I use twrp of 3s device?
First unlocked bootloader officially.
Second lookup this two tread for twrp: http://en.miui.com/thread-346365-1-1.html and flasher toolkit for land: http://en.miui.com/thread-346365-1-1.html
Third, after flashing the new rom, remember to disabled dm verification.
Forth, rooting just used twrp to flash superSU.zip.
Done and enjoying.

Open bootloader ONLY without ShopRom, else stuck at 50%.
If an ShopRom is installed, flash first with MiFlash an offical Rom in EDL-Mode = Vol+ and Powerbutton.

How to Root miui 8.3

Hi recently flashed miui 8.3 by xiaomi.eu
There's no root access available
Tried superuser.zip
Kingoroot
But still I can't find any way any suggestions?
Both Magisk and SuperSU worked for me. Make sure to clean flash in order to avoid these kind of weird problems.

I don't know why you are facing this problem but both SuperSU and Magisk worked for me. If SuperSU didn't work for you then give Magisk a try and see what happens.
Is you device Redmi 2 prime ?
Or Redmi 2

HELP Leeco LE s3 [ROOT]

Hello, I just bought the new Leeco le s3 [U.S Variant] x522 snapdragon with the latest Leeco update that includes the new app drawer, and i can't seem to root it.
I've tried almost everything to no avail, most guides to rooting it which are from 2015-2016 [which I think are either outdated and no longer work] I just need to know if there is any updated version to rooting this phone because I've tried everything and am feeling really frustrated.
-thanks fuzous

Will this method work only on 18s which I think is the stock firmware or will it also work on 21s?

AIO Toolkit is discontinued/abandoned so this method will no longer work!
@redspeed
look for twrp, get it to boot on your device and install supersu or magisk, there you are.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-2/how-to/guide-unlocking-rooting-restoring-to-t3515555 works for your device, too.

You need an unlocked bootloader, root is not necessary

Is it possible: Complete backup and restore of Redmi Note 7?

As the title says, I'm wondering if its possible to make a complete backup of everything(including settings) and then restore it back to what it was before.
I'm using the Note 7 MIUI 12 android 10 Global 48Mpx
Without root
Without root and custom ROM and custom recovery
With root
With root, recovery(which) and custom ROM(which?)
Please be specific in your answers and if you refer to programs or tutorials then please add links.
Thank you in advance

Afaik yes it's the only solution, you can use a different custom recovery like twrp but orangefox is the reccomended one for our device
