Its the best 8 inch tablet for me but I would like:
LDAC bluetooth support
Can't bluetooth tether with my phone while other tablets can
Would have liked headphone jack
Would have liked band 2 LTE
Would have liked Volte support USA
Would like Android Pie stat
Would like SmartThings app ability to install on it
Would like to get rid of Huawei Share and have normal share menu
Would like Kirin 970 or 980 in it
Still is the best tablet so I really enjoy it. Just hope the MediaPad M6 8.4" addresses all these issues

Love it so far, even though I'm a vanillia OS guy. But the GUI is good for this tablet.

bought two!
I ended up buying both the 10.8 LTE 64GB + official keyboard and the 8.4 LTE 32GB + official case direct from China and they both work fine. I really like the performance, robustness, audio, speed. I don't like the tendency of the keyboard to decide to delete everything and the SwiftKey autocorrect.
I am using the 8.4 as my phone, with BT buds and Wear OS as I am rarely without a bag, watch tells me who's ringing and hear through buds and use the tablet to initiate calls. If I am wanting to go away from tablet briefly without the huge phone then I let calls divert to my LG Watch Urbane 2 LTE + Truphone which only lasts a few hours on LTE but that's fine for dog walking, etc when not with a bag.
Using ATT and T-mobile and work reliably.
Straight from China no problems in English, Android, getting through USA customs, took about 4 days once shipped.
Using a SD 128GB in the 10.8 and a 200GB in the 8.4 to get similar storage.
I must say this idea of phone chipset in a tablet size is liberating, a regular lower cost higher Data phone Sim in a tablet size with large and high screen resolution is a joy, I am still on T Mobile binge-on. The way the networks penalise tablets to make them have an expensive data only Sim is obscene.
I can now travel, say a flight, just with the 8.4 as my only device, not a phone and a tablet for movies flight/hotel, so it works out lighter weight and simpler charging too.
I am not clear how people can use the 8.4 as their only phone, it's a big tablet, unless they have a bag and smart watch + buds to see who's ringing and hear.
I probably prefer the 8.4 over the 10.8 as the keyboard is not perfect, Swiftkey is horrible and the random deletion of all my typing is annoying. I tend to use the 10.8 for bedtime watching media and the 8.4 around and about. The 8.4 cost me $289 which for a big bright screen, lots of ram, big battery, good speakers, takes a T-mobile voice SIM, SD card, is excellent value for money. It is making the >$500 for my Oneplus6 looks somewhat dumb. I don't sense any performance issues, it is very smooth.
8.4 screen is brighter, crisper, more an outdoors type device, but the 10.8 speakers are "wow!" best of anything device I have.
I did buy two as I sensed the Huawei USA tariff spat coming.

Overall I give this phone a four out of five. Im probably not the best judge however due to the fact I'm coming from a three year old device in the Samsung Galaxy relay 4g. After having said that though, battery life is great. I can get through a full day without charging. And that's moderate to heavy use with GPS. Virtual keyboard is awesome. I miss swpe but don't want to switch and lose predictive text functionality with hw keyboard. The hw keyboard is pretty small. I knew this going in but was still she'll shocked about it at first. I'm slowly getting used to it though. I like the scrolling functionality but the fact it doesn't work on every app and not in the same way is a deterrent. The buttons have a decent feel but I guess if they couldn't be any bigger I would of liked a spacing around them. But overall not horrible. I haven't used the camera much, but from what I've seen its lightyears ahead of what I'm used to. Even the crappie 2mp front facing camera is an upgrade from the relays 1.5(I think)mp. Anyhow, the priv seem like a pretty good next gen phone. I do agree that the price is way too high, however, especially without marshmallow.
5/5 … as a former Nexus 5 user, I wasn't aware how I missed an AMOLED screen and MicroSD support until I got the PRIV. The physical keyboard was the main reason (was curious, and I never had the G1), but the rest of the package is better than I hoped for. The OS is mostly stock with useful additions by BlackBerry. The January security update came a day before Google even announced it here. (And BBRY promised to keep delivering updates ASAP.) It's just the perfect device for me. The only thing I was missing in the beginning was wireless charging (I got the European model) … but I bought 2 original desktop stands (for the price of 1 noname wireless one!) and now this isn't a problem anymore. I'm looking forward to more awesome devices from BlackBerry running Android already…
Absolutely a joy to own! It has everything I ever wanted in a smartphone and feels amazing to type on a hardware keyboard again!
I just got this phone yesterday and was disappointed at first. I guess using a Passport and Note 4 I was expecting more. However, I am enjoying this phone now! I do find the form factor to be great for my hands, which are small, because it is lightweight but sturdy. App download and install is a bit slow but I only got the update one day ago so maybe once it settles it'll get better. I really wish it had the Hub with swipe right and peek by swiping up slightly. That's all I have for now!
I love this phone.... My previous phone (Xperia Z) started failing so I searched all around my city until I was informed a local T-Mobile store had 1 in stock. I rushed to get it and I have to say it is epically legendary. I do however wish we could root it because I could use some of those extra features.

not having root it's a no no for me, and no Roms also...
but if bb keep the device updated, i'm sort of interested now...
i'm dying to own a hardware keyboard again, was so stupid to sell my D4.
+Keyboard
+More Apps than my beloved Q5 and Passport.

-Tends to fall from my hands to the desk in a hurry if not carefull due to size and weight when handling fast onehanded.
-Sometimes lag* without multitasking on latest MM Update (example: downloading Spotify on Wifi with 16mbps)
*=yes i used Android before... since 1.x on the first galaxy from samsung in 2009 so i guess i know how to manage apps and what to not install and i'm a *NIX system architect at work - but this phone is sometimes lagging without the cooling-down notification, without cpu's above 75%, on highest cpufreq, with and w/o AC, with and w/o sdcard and a lot of free RAM, and even after fastboot'ing and fullwipe before setting up most stuff, so i guess it could be the throughput of the internal flash or some missing optimizations...

Yes, it does hang/lag. It heats up when we try to multitask. Else The phone is good. One more thing that is not upto mark> is the front camera.

Overall this tablet is incredible. The speakers are great, the screen is crisp and not to mention huge. An incredible device priced just a little too high
Not worth the money. I am very disappointed with the rams. My note 9 has 8 GB ram but this tab only comes with 4 GB and no option to increase the ram like the note 9.
This tablet should have had 6 GB then it would have been worth the money.
Right now I got 600mb rams free and if I startup the DeX then I don't know how it will work.
Just haven't had the chance to try DeX yet as I am working non stop for 14 days on 14 hour shifts but after 14 day I'll report back.

And a little too heavy. Looks like I will be keeping my Tab S 8.4 for reading
Had mine for a week now and have been using it pretty much non-stop. Screen is superb for video. Have the keyboard cover too and it has been useful for doing some work emails and stuff. Used Dex for a few days until the novelty wore off. Having said that will use it occasionally when docked to a bigger screen. Yes it's heavy and yes it's expensive.....but I still love it.
I do love it overall. Big and beautiful as a tablet, while cute and compact as a partial laptop. But i am also disappointed like many people that it did not have more ram. I had apps crashed and hanged on DeX before

apart from size, how clear is text on S4 compared to S 8.4"? I have a S 8.4" and use it 95% of the time for reading kindle and google books, and wonder whether that with 25% fewer pixels per inch, clarity of text might be reduced on the S4 compared to the S 8.4".

Even though the screen has lower ppi it's still an awesome display. At first I was noticing lower ppi here and there. I guess I was looking for it as I don't notice it any more. Text is really nice and sharp, you shouldn't be disappointed. The reason I've kept S 8.4 is it's size, it's an easy one hand device unlike S4.
S4 is awesome!
Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
I think it is a mixed bag. I moved from an S2 to an S4, and there are multiple things I miss
Pros: processor, internal memory, video resolution, pie, battery life, speakers at all corners
Cons: Screen aspect ratio (too tall for books in portrait mode) , not enough ram for dex, no thumbprint sensor, no wireless dex, mirroring sucks
Yeah, the aspect ratio is better for movies, but I mostly cast video. Likewise the speaker location is much better, but I mostly cast or use head phones.
I won't be going back to the S2, but I miss it sometimes.

I'm with you on that!
Just got my S4. Unicorn edition straight from Samsung South Korea!
6GB RAM / 256GB Storage / LTE / FULLY UNLOCKED! It works as a phone, with the phone and sms apps enabled. ZERO restrictions on this!
Pics up on instagram @RDA1074 will post some videos too!
I'm going without a physical PC for a week to check this out! I'm putting down my XPS 13 QHD i7 2-in-1 (9365) so....let see!
I needed something to replace my Tab E so purchased the Tab S4. I don't think they gave us value for the cost it was to buy it.

How does one look into getting one of these and is there a wifi only version? Thanks!
I am very pleased with it. A family member of mine recently bought a 6th gen iPad and the Tab S4 is way more capable! (but also quite a bit more expensive. I use Dex alot in combination with the Samsung keyboard case. The S Pen is useful, but is too light for my liking.
The verry best of my owneds devices, only one bad point, i'v still no succes on rooting it.
I had both ipad pro (1st gen) 9.7 and 12.9 versions, sold them both and got a used S4 tab. So far really liking it. I used ot have a Note 9 so I'm used to the software. My phone is a P30 pro which is superb but the software sucks ass. Samsung software is on a different level from Huawei, it's not even comparable. I think atm Samsung software is better than apple products. The battery drain is a bit fast for me, but since I live in Korea I can always get the battery replaced at the Samsung service center for around $17 usd.
Comparing Tab S6 and Tab S4:
- S4 has slightly better display, with less backbleeding
- both tablets cannot be authenticated in a modern way, fp / iris / facelock are almost unusable
a) S6 fingerprint is a classic samsung joke since they moved fp reader under display
b) S4 intelligent scan is unsafe as it takes whatever authentication gets processed first.. iris OR face
c) S4 iris or faceunlock don't work in dark, and are in fact much worse than S6 fingerprint
d) S4 won't provide biometrics to apps... you simply enter the era of entering passwords by hand.. this is huuge disappointment
e) so there's another option: Direction Lock. this is a less secure pattern lock unfortunately it's first tier auth (it can't register on top of password), the best model would be strong base auth (password) + medium to strong comfy auth (iris AND faceunlock) but no luck here.. and again, it's not registered as biometrics. i don't know why Android recognizes only fingerprint as biometrics - bad
- both are slow, S4 feels like 10year device with its lags update: got much better when disabled proca why this is not disabled in kernel
- S4 can be rooted much better, no combination of keys needed to boot.. full safe setup twrp, kernel, xposed+xprivacy+xedge, encryption, no boot keys needed
- both have HDR playback, even if brightness is not enough..
- human control is painful:
a) you can't touch buttons when pen is accidentally close to the screen..oh my god..so many mistakes with this
b) the hardware keyboard is withough backlight so it's almost invisible, and the screen brightness won't help.. very painful keyboard.. i threw it away already
c) when using hardware keyboard, there will be accidental touches to screen..dialogs will be cancelled.. really annoying
d) i hate when i cannot dismiss notification menu by touching around it
e) pen doesn't slide on the screen easily.. it's not the same feeling like Note9.. it's almost difficult to move it around (new tip..a Lenovo pen would slide easily)
f) the expensive keyboard cover attracts fingerprint dirt like nothing else. crazy how it gets more dirty than glass!
- wifi reception is poor
- sound is fantastic... i despise all 3D, Vipers and modifications, but 4 speakers with Atmos sound so good in movies.. clear dialogs and atmospheric background sounds go beyond ears
the S4 tablet is good for media, games. Both are nowhere near producitivy and speed of modern mobile phones. Since i hate the keyboard and even stylus, the Samsung benefits are partially gone. I wish it was easier to control, snappier.

i'm coming from the G4, which i have a lot of negative things to say about due to LG basically abandoning it not too long after launch - i said i wouldn't buy LG again but the super bright screen and android one lured me back in (plus i needed to know all the LTE bands would be supported here in canada).
overall i'm enjoying the device, the screen is gorgeous and performs very nicely in bright light. the operating system is pretty darn zippy and responsive, the CPU doesn't run too hot and although i would prefer more RAM it's performing pretty well all told. no real issues so far other than the abysmal rollout on "monthly" security updates (they skipped february and took until the 21st for march's). the default camera app is okay i spose, although i installed the gcam apk from the relevant thread here and have been pretty happy with it other than what i perceive as a bit of lag in taking images. the device boots up quickly, the fingerprint scanner is accurate and fairly fast, but i have to say that the speaker itself does not sound as "full" as my G4 in everyday use although it definitely goes louder - it sounds a bit shrill in the hand, but my bluetooth headphones sound just dandy. haven't actually tried wired cans, but bluetooth in general is quick to connect and my amazfit bip watch is much happier than with my previous phone. range is excellent and i've had no disconnect issues as of yet.
personally i can't stand the google assistant key, so i ended up buying "button remap" by the fabulous @flar2 and made it dance to my satisfaction, which had the side benefit of uncoupling the volume key controls so i can manage just the ringtone/notifications separate from media (pie has some weird ideas, imo). LTE reception is excellent, all the bands worked out of box and my Fido sim had no issues with automagically choosing the correct APN, and overall data throughput is good, call quality is good. handfeel is pretty decent, although without a case it's slippery as all out and i definitely wouldn't try to operate it that way. the design is not particularly inspired, and availability/price is atrocious and typical of LG not seeming to care about their mobile division. battery life isn't the best, i'm not sure why they went with a 3000mAH sized cell, but the fast charge works excellent - although the included usb c cable does NOT support the full 18w (my inline meter says it peaks at 12w, and i had to get a different cable to get it to charge at rated speed/voltage).
personally, i find the notch to be rubbish (nacho notch improved things visually) and the notification led is small, not bright, and seemingly not very adjustable. obviously the speed of security updates is garbage, as is the lack of an actual usb driver and the likely never to be unlocked bootloader is typical LG. the screen has a slight curve on the sides, which meant that the tempered glass screen protector i picked up with the phone doesn't cover the entire screen side to side which is silly as there was no need to curve the screen other than trying to look cool/riding samsung's tip ;b
overall the phone feels like kind of an afterthought by LG, and i don't get the impression that they're going to support this device very much. i paid $539 CAD for it on amazon and definitely wouldn't want to pay more for it, but android one and the screen are definite saving graces. perhaps not enough to justify it versus other devices on the market, but it is what it is. /rant
I concur with most of what you said. I got the phone for $0 with a two-year plan on Bell. They dropped the price quickly. The price you paid for the phone outright seems good.
I would add that sometimes the scrolling is jumpy and stutters, maybe depending on what site you are on. Sometimes it is as smooth as butter. Maybe 4GB is not enough. Also, despite having the option for and SD card, I think this phone should have shipped with 64GB.
The chassis is slippery as hell, bought a TPU case off Amazon and it makes a huge difference.
Because LG promised two years of software updates, we should be getting TWO major updates AFTER Pie, to Android R, but I'm not holding my breath. If it stops at Q, and LG tries to tell us it's because we had Oreo out of the box, the Android One program will lose a lot of credibility. Watch it happen though. I don't think LG will bother supporting a two-year old phone with the latest Android version.

I love my RN7,now falling in love in my RN8 pro..
It's amazing..and yes.. you can love your phone ?
Love speed, camera, battery. For me personally it's far better then my former phone (Mi Mix 2s)
Little cons:
- notification LED is far too small
- backside is too slippery (I won't use it without a case)
Display.. this is the perfect size and I love this phone..
Battery.. ?
I have ordered the phone 6/128 variant, will get tomorrow or day after. I'm excited but worrisome about the camera result at the same time. Let's see
Mine should also arrive tomorrow. I went with 6/64 variant, but that's good enough for me. Will report after a couple of days of use.
This is a really good phone at a really good price.
I just love the battery charging speed in this price segment.
I got my phone today and reading mode is turned off still at night, my display seems yellowish.
Check the screenshot.
This phone is everything I expected and more. The only few cons are overshadowed by it's price. Guess everyone was wrong about G90T. No oveeheating, smooth peeformance all the way. Also... more than decent primary shooter, great battery life,... Glad I went for this over P20 Lite. And cheaper too. Now only thing left is the wait until MIUI 11.
my good old Samsung Note 4 broke down, now I also have a Redmi Note 8 Pro, I love the phone too xD
Phone is awesome
Note 8 Pro Love
Had my phone a couple of days - upgraded from redmi note 7. So far loving it, seems really quick and glad to now have NFC. Face unlock is very quick and the main camera seems to be good - more testing needed though. Only annoying thing is lack of HD playback on Netflix.
Ian
I like this phone. Good quality, very fast, and battery life is amazing. My biggest downfall is lacking immediate bootloader unlock and lack of ROMs. I am hoping this phone will become more free and capable of customization.
The phone is really good and fast, apart from few problems, everything else is love. Camera is having some real issues and those for sure are due to software. Hardware for the main camera is the same as Realme XT then why improved video quality for XT? Xiaomi needs to improve the camera software so that you can rate this phone 10/10.

I have 4G+ with my provider. Telenor
By far the best 230$ I've ever spent on a device. Just updated to miui 11 they def made some great improvements. My gf has a big gig note 9 she's like I want a RN8 pro her daughter has a S8 plus she's ordering one today. The camera and fluidness with this phone is amazing. Say what you want but this mediatek soc gets things done. There's rumors of a SD 730g series RN 8 pro but it's not going to happen it's a rumor so people are waiting for that variant to come out. Lol enjoy your wait.
Hello! Do you have information when the pixel experience firmware comes out on Redmi Note 8 Pro?
Bought it online China set China rom with installed Google 8/126, tried to find indian version due to dedicated sd card but not available. Previously owns mi max prime with global rom and it was easy to play with because google is available.
With RN8P china set/rom i had to explore deeply especially when using the browser which automatically give us several option either using baidu or sm (dun know what is this). Even cant use in app purchase at first which makes me feel little disappointed and ready to unlock and install global rom  and already download the software to start the operation
Luckily, after exploring in the phone i can change the browser in english permanently (unless i reset it) and also watched in youtube how to enable in app purchase if using china rom.
Now i feel happy because the replacement of my loyal mi max prime is up to my standard
Camera: Excellent with lot of option (i'm not expert but it looks great) dont need gcam...for now
Speed/Charging: Fast response
Network: Sometime I've got 4+ even though my line is supporting up to 4g only
Memory: Great, 126gb is my minimum standard requirement, can expand it using sd card
Keyboard: I'm using xperia
Gaming: Not a fan for heavy games for android. Got only Clash of Clans and Candy Crush...yeah just 2:laugh: but kind noticed the changing in temperature at back body.
Sound: Loud and clear, need to memorized that the ear speaker hole is just at the top edge
Processor: MTK? SD? nah....i'm not an expert
Satisfaction: Human never satisfied..just call it enough to sustain at least 2 years from now

having device shortly, not sure if i keep. At least I didn't return after 1 day like Xperia 5ii.
nice device standing out of the crowd of exactly same looking phones. Some tough spec omissions, where to start
big battery and fast charging
sd card
high freq display
recent camera (this one is on par with S10 at best)
s-pen (i believe pen has to be added to Flip/Fold in future)
stereo speakers
of little priority
usb3.2 instead of 3.1.. wait, it's 3.1 written on gsmarena, but it's just USB2!
ufs3.1 instead of 3.0
no aptxHD
wifi6 (on 5G version)
Damn i swallowed my flagship pride so much with those specs, but before rooting, i find there's this archaic USB2 only (which also means no DeX!).. I mean, what the hell.. You don't get microsd and you don't get fast USB either? Reminds me of those Onepluses with "Type-C but USB2" several generations in row, but that's also a matter of past.
Swipes from edge ain't easy thanks to the frame. I call it anti-Edge display. That frame however adds yet another protection (when unfolded).
nice:
0-30min is 52% on par with samsung flagships (not OnePlus league of course but still nice)
there's some nice resillence of battery in standby
physical fingerprint is lightning fast, but it's a 2nd such phone in row where this reader is hard to find with fingers (also thanks to black color)
very decent weight
decent non-Exynos rootable cpu
the form factor, uniqueness, coolness and double display protection actually
good app switcher (into multiwindow or popup mode), and easy to access (which is more important than the actual function), bit better than Sony SideSense which is hard to trigger
e-z Qi charging placement without usual readjustments, clear indication of charging (the mini display will show progress and estimation NONSTOP).. wirecutters do need to be informed
returned after 3 days: i was on brink when finding out about no DEx, then i found the new retail box from samsung-authorized seller isn't new and no longer can register for screen protection, so that was it.
