/sdcard/btsnoop_hci.log not found - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

@anybody: please activate "Bluetooth HCI-Snoop-Protocol" in developer options and tell me if you have the file /sdcard/btsnoop_hci.log on your phone.
If yes => please tell me which rom you are using.
i am on xXx 9.6
the file is not existing. I tried to edit the /etc/bluetooth/bt_stack.conf manually. still no success. I need to debug the bluetooth data between my smartwatch (zeTime) and my phone.

It will be saved in /sdcard/oem_log/ once you enable logging in oemlogkit.
Dialer -> input *#800#->get wireless log->get bluetooth log.

Got the log. Can you recommend a tool to read it? Something Like wireshark for Android?
I am new to this. I am a java Developer, but new to Bluetooth Debugging

You can analyze it with wireshark, there's also a HCI debugger app in the play store.

Is anybody else having problems with the btsnoop file not being generated?
I've had Bluetooth problems ever since updating to OxygenOS 5.1.1 (https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/constant-bluetooth-problems-after-updating-to-5-1-1.831111/), and I'm still having the same problem after doing clean flash to 5.1.3.
OnePlus contact me about this and gave me the instructions to generate the log files to email to them, I followed those instructions and it generated different log files in the oem_log directory, except for the btsnoop file itself, and they were at a loss as well as to why the btsnoop file wasn't being generated.
Here's the instructions they gave me, I followed it to a "T" and tried different variations hoping one of them would work, but no luck.
Input *#800# from dialing interface, enter "oneplus logkit", delete history log
Click "advanced" > "save log type" > enable all options, then click OK
Tap “move log path to built-in SD card” and then click "save log", when it informs you whether to reboot, click “cancel” > enter "Wireless connection", enable "Bluetooth air bag switch" and “Bluetooth protocol stack LOG switch”
Go back, click "get QXDM Log, choose “bt related”, roll down, click "open device log"
Go to: settings>Developer options> Click Enable Bluetooth HCI snoop log to make sure this function has been enabled. If it is enable already, please enable again.
(Important) Then turn Bluetooth on, reproduce the issue and take a screenshot to record the time
Wait for several minutes (better above 10 minutes), tap "save log" and click “move log path to built-in SD card” again to stop it, enter QXDM Log and choose “close device log”

Thanx for the detailed set-up instructions Kropotov!
I follwed to the letter but at this time I'm still unable to get it all to work. When i enable the PC dial up connection it activeate the Atom cos the back light come on abd the BT symbol in the PC system tray changes colour. However it does not want to get past this stage and no signs of the GPRS sybol coming on the PPC...........I know my GPRS APN is "NET" with user name being the operator and the password being "WAP" but still nothing working. I just don't know why it should be so hard to establish a link via BT or USB cable. It was easier to do on my old Nokia 6030 about 5 years ago than it is on my Atom!
Regards
Chris.
try to connect to GPRS using USB connection...
Can you go to internet from your Atom?
How do I know which COM port the ActiveSync is using......would it be COM1 by default? When i try to set up a DUN modem the only ports that i can see are all Bluetooth ports that i have created, I do nt get the choice for COM1.
I also found some instructions from O2 on how to set up an Xda II to act as a modem, in these instructions you set up a new standard modem on the PC, disable Activesync on the PC then deactivate "Receive all beams" on the PPC and then activate "Modem Link" on the PPC. Then when you plug in the PDA to the PC via USB cable the computer will detect new hard ware and try to install a drive, I have not been able to locate the required driver o the internet so can not get any further with this method. The driver is on the OEM CD supplied with the device and as I'm away from home i can not check if i have the driver on the CD that came with the Atom. The driver i called "HTC USB Modem".
angusc

Kropotov,
I can't figure out how to download the file from this site, sorry to be such a pain.
http://dl.rapidshare.ru/27257/99530/USBMDM.INF
Thanx again for your continued support and assistance but that link is not working for me at this time, i will try it again later to hopefully get to that file!!
give me your mail. I will send you
kropotov,
Thx for the file, i installed a new modem on my PC and then activated the "modem link" on my PPC and installed the driver when prompted, but alas still not working. I think it is to do with the assigned COM port for the modem on the PC, I can only seem to choosE COM 4, 9, 13, 14, 15 when installing the modem to PC. I would think that the Atom would be com port 1-3 as it is connected to one of my PC USB ports......
Will keep playing and let you know if I manage to get it to work......Thanx for all your help.

How to receive file via Bluetooth?

I tried it but it gave error at the starting of the file transfer only.
I tried again to transfer a video file, it took time and just when the progress bar reached the end, it gave error again.
Please give me step-by-step instructions to receive files from another bluetooth device.
Thanks
1st: Go to start->settings->connections->beam and enable "Receive all incoming beams"
2nd: On bluetooth settings enable "Make this device visible to other devices"
and before transfer a file make sure you have enough space.
This way it should work.

Connecting to Network Storage

Hello,
I have a storage drive with data on it that I want to be able to access from my HD2 but sadly I can't get it to connect. I have connected to the WiFi successfully and have the expected network address but I can't get it to connect. I have tried the following:
1. Go to file explorer
2. Menu > Go To > Open Path
3. New Path
4. \\dm105
5. I also tried \\IPADDRESS
I guessing the problem is due it being attached to a Windows 7 machine. Does anyone have any idea how to make it work? My windows XP box can connect to the drive no problem...
With \\IPADDRESS it says that network resource cannot be found. With \\DM105 it says my connection settings are missing but then I don't know what to do...
I get exactly the same problem, I'd expect at least a login prompt!
This may solve the problem
- Go to Settings -> All Settings (to get the original Windows Setting) -> Connections -> Wi-fi -> Click on Wireless Network -> Choose your network for the list -> change 'Connects to': from 'internet' to 'Work'.
Try to connect again from file explorer.
Good Luck

[HowTo]Use OpenVPN in Cyanogenmod/based ROMs

Intro:
So, I've had some problems accessing the market from a forbidden country (i.e Sudan, Lebanon). When I tried to use the built-in VPN client in a Cyanogenmod ROM it turned out that it doesn't work so after a well-spent time, I figured out how to use a VPN on my HD2.
What Can it be used for?
- Access the internet using your data connection without revealing your IP address.
- Unlock the market for forbidden countries. (my case)
- Basically, VPN on your Androided HD2.
Requirements:
An HTC HD2 with a Cyanogenmod Rom or a ROM based on it.
OpenVPN Settings application (Provided in the attachments)
An OpenVPN config files and certificates (Recommended will be provided below)
An SD card.
Instructions:
1- I recommend using Hostizzle, go to it then register for a free plan. (go for a paid one if you want)
2- After registering, download your keys (only keys and not .exe ) and extract them to a new folder on the root of your sd card with the following name "openvpn" .
3- Go to your phone and install the "OpenVPN Settings" application (attached) .
4- Run the Application and Allow all the SuperUser Requests. Then press menu and choose "Advanced" . Make sure that "Load tun kernel module" is ticked, then hit "TUN module settings" and make sure that "Load module using" is set to "insmod" and "Path to tun module" is set to "/system/lib/modules/tun.ko" .
5-(optional) if you faced troubles using the internet, long press on your configurations name and then "Preferences" then tick "Use VPN DNS Server" and set the "VPN DNS Server" to "8.8.8.8".
6- Return to the main screen of the app and tick "OpenVPN" and then tick your configuration.
Then it will go through a sequence, when you see "Connected to *.*.*.* as *.*.*.*" then you're connected, if you're seeing a blank after "as" then you have a problem and you have to check the procedures again.
Tips & Warnings:
*You can use any OpenVPN service as long as you can obtain the configurations file.
*I have only tested this on "HyperDroid", but it should work with any cyanogenmod ROM.
*Do not install "OpenVPN installer" as it will mess up your phone's VPN configurations.
*OpenVPN Settings can be obtained from the market, but in my case I couldn't do it .
*The files you should copy to the "openvpn" folder should at least contain the following : (*.ovpn, ca.crt, client.crt, client.key, ta.key)
*It is ok for the connection to keep restarting, it will connect you soon.
*Anything else you tell me

B7610 problem solving

Hi to all,
I open this topic to list and try to solve the problem that may occur during the utilisation of this device
I post the problem that i've found and the solution to solve them.
Of course if somebody have some problem or knows some solution please post it here
PROBLEM
I can't connect to any wifi network
SOLUTION
Search for SKTools and download it
Install it on you're device.
After some "first time" settings search the TCP/IP board (two times right)
In this board search "Wlan Support 802.11G" and select yes (by default it could be "NO")
Select "Done" and close SKTools
Reboot your device.
Now it should works
PROBLEM
My B7610 didn't connect to GPS signal
SOLUTION
1) Search and install GpsGate and Visual GpsCe
2) launch GpsGate
3) Choose "Start GpsGate after SoftReset" and "never ask me again"
4) Tap "Start"
5) In the next screen only choose "wired or Built in Gps"
6) Tap >
7) Wait while the programm search
8) In the screen that pop ups tap yes
9) in the next screen only choose "share with nmea applications"
10) Tap >
11) Confirm with "OK"
12) A screen with "Virtual Com Port 2 created", tap OK
13) The programm will close, restart it
14) A menu will appear, select "settings"
15) Go to the "advanced" board and select "show more options"
16) Select the "input" board
17) next to "com 7" tap "Close"
18) still in the "input" board, you will find "advanced", choose retry connection on timeout","close imput when idle" and "power off close"
19) Where we had put close (near Com7, see step 17) put open
20) In the advanced board select "Start GpsGate after soft reset"
21) Tap "OK" and close the programm
22) Reboot your device
23) The programm could ask to repeat the step 3 (but it's not sure)
24) Launch the program that requires the GPS (like car navigator)
25) choose and select "Bluetooth GPS Receiver" and set "Fransom Com Port 2" as gps port
26) Launch GpsCe and tap"agree"
27) In the board "connect" select "serial port(comm port) and then "Com 7" with "baud 4600"
28) If you want to make the fix faster enable "XTRA Download"
Now it should all works, the first time the fix will be a bit slow, don't panic and from the second time the fix will be very very fast
PROBLEM
I can't modify the sms skin
SOLUTION
First of all check if you have threadened sms sctivated.
To do this go in the registry key HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM and change SMSINboxThreadingDisabled from 1 to 0.
Once done this, with a file Explorer like "total commander" open the Windows folder and search the iframe_style.css file and cut and copy to another location (for example the root of the microSD).
Rename it to iframe_style_white.css and put it again in Windows folder and overwrite it.
Restart your device.
Install the skin that you want
PROBLEM
I can't install android on my device
SOLUTION
See here
PROBLEMS NOT YET SOLVED
When I connect my device to the Tv i can't here no audio
I hope this thread will be useful for someone.
Sorry for my grammatical mistakes but i'm italian.
